Publix Competitor Coupons

I am working on the Publix weekly deals and wanted to see what areas are still accepting non grocery store competitor coupons.  From what I am hearing this is becoming very rare.  So…

If your store still takes Target, Rite Aid, CVS etc. please leave a comment below.  To make it easier on me and anyone else that wants this information if you will, leave it like this:

Columbia, SC

Takes only Grocery Store coupons from stores in our area.

Food Lion, Kroger, Bi-Lo, Piggly Wiggly, Earth Fare

If you see your area covered then either reply to that comment if you have a different finding or consider your area covered.  (Tip: if we have a lot of comments use the search page function of your web browser to search for your city name)

Update:  They all take competitor coupons, this is just to help me see what competitors, so please a little more than “takes competitors” :)

    Orando, Florida
Takes Grocery stores coupons in the area…including Target.

    • Aymie says:

Also a few stores in Brevard County. Check with your store.

      • Brooke says:

My Publix in Brevard County (Palm Bay) takes most all local competitors including

Winn Dixie, Albertsons, Target, Kmart, CVS, and Walgreens.

I believe this is different from the Melbourne stores which do not take CVS and Walgreens. My understanding is that the Palm Bay stores and Melbourne stores are in different disticts which is why the their coupon policies are different.

        • Dena says:

I live in Tampa, FL and all of them take competitor coupons, Target, Albertsons, etc. There is one store on Hillsborough & Habana that takes all coupons including Family Dollar, Register Rewards & Extra Care Bucks.

          • Charlotte says:

            Titusville, FL
Takes any “reasonable” competitor, which does include Target, CVS, Walgreens, and I even used a Food Lion and the nearest one is about 40 miles from the store.

          • Tiffani says:

I would love to know which locations in Tampa accept Target coupons. I live in New Tampa and the 3 Publix stores I frequent in my area will not take them.

          • Tiffani says:

Sorry…to answer: My New Tampa Publix stores do take Food Lion coupons (the only competitor I’ve tried other than Target and WalGreens).

          • Kerri says:

Both Publix in Valrico, Lithia Pinecrest Rd. and on Bloomingdale Ave./Bell Shoals take Target Q’s, but I’ve had to get a manager twice to use them.. apparently not all cashiers are aware. 90% of the time I have no problem and have great service!

          • Lori says:

            Wesley Chapel/Tampa Bay Area, FL

I took my own survey through the email in May and asked about Target Coupons, here’s what we found out:

Will NOT Target (but will accept competerors in our area (U-save, Albertsons, Winn-Dixie)
Wesley Chapel; all Stores in Wesley Chapel, Zephyrhills, & New Tampa area
Lake Brandon on Causeway, Lakeland, FL

            Will NOT accept any
            Sun City Center, FL
            Valrico; Hwy 60

            WILL
Brandon, FL; Bloomingdale & Providence, Fish Hawk
            Seffner/Mango
            Valrico; Kingsway & Windhorst

          • Sophia says:

i go to the publixs in New Tampa also and they will not take Target coupons, they let me slide once but not since. The publixs in North Pinellas county usually take Target coupons & i have used a Food Lion coupon once successfully.

          • Sophia says:

to Tiffani, yea i find that odd the New Tampa publixs don’t take Target coupons because the Super Target is literally right down the street from my Publixs and they still don’t see them as competitors - because usually the other publixs that do accept Target coupons at their store, ring the coupon up as a ‘competitor coupon’

          • Shannon says:

The Lake Ella Publix in Tallahassee, FL takes CVS, Rite Aid, Food Lion, Harveys, Target, etc. The Forest Village Publix will only accept Food Lion or Harveys coupons as traditional competitors.

        • Denise says:

Some Melbourne stores do not accept Target coupons.

        • brittany says:

Great Info Guys Thanks A TON!!!!!

    • Len says:

The Baldwin Park Publix in Orlando only takes Albertson’s, Whole Foods and Winn Dixie. The Avalon Park Publix in Orlando will take ANY coupon including Target, CVS, etc.

      • Dorothy says:

actually, no publix is cutting down on the coupons they will take. avalon publix will NOT take all comp. coupons anymore. Publix WILL take a grocery store comp. coupon. sorry folks but using drugstore coupons on your groceries is not legit.

      • Kim says:

PLEASE ask your store who their competitors are. I don’t want to lose the ability to use coupons at our East Orlando Publix stores and it is going to come to that if WE don’t use our coupons responsibly. If they tell you that Rite-Aid or whoever is not considered a competitor, then don’t try to use the coupon there!

    • jen says:

Both Publixs in Fleming Island, Fl 32003, according to the district manager, take competitor coupons as long as the competitor is within five miles of the store

      • DeeDee says:

I live in Port St Lucie, Fl (east coast)and my local Publix (3 different ones)has accepted Walgreens and Target Q’s in the last 2 weeks.

      • Kacy says:

        St. Cloud, FL (near Orlando)

Takes only Grocery Store coupons from stores in our area:
        Target, Winn-Dixie, Whole Foods
*They just recently stopped accepting Food Lion coupons :(

        • Nancy says:

Kacy, which Publix in St. Cloud do you shop? The one near Wal Mart, or the one on Narcoossee Rd? Just trying to figure out which one takes those coupons. I know the one near Wal Mart doesn’t take CVS/Walgreens. Thanks!

    • Rachel says:

The Publix in Ooltewah, TN takes my Target and Rite Aid coupons, haven’t tried any of the other store coupons yet.

      • Terri says:

        East Brainerd Rd. Publix-Chattanooga, TN
        Takes Walgreens and Target coupons
Walgreens is literally right next door to them.

        • Alicia says:

East Brainerd also takes all Food Lion and Babies R Us diapers and laundry detergent Q’s.

          • jen says:

East Brainard told me one week that they can take any coupon for products they carry. They are so great there! Said they used to take only competitors but now look at the product.

      • Tina says:

        Ooltewah, TN

They take Food Lion, Bi-Lo, Target, Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid. They have said that as long as it is a true “competitor” they will honor the coupon.

    • Amy Baggott says:

      Lawrenceville, GA
accepts coupons from Kroger and Walgreens

    • Karen S says:

      Goodlettsville, TN
My store also accepts Walgreens and Target coupons.

    • Valerie says:

      Gainesville, Fl

The Westgate Plaza and Butler Plaza Publix stores take other grocery stores and Target but not CVS

They do not allow a store, manufacturer and competitor, just manufacturer and either competitor or store Q

    • Tressa says:

Most of the Publix in Charleston SC still accept the rite aid $5 off $25. I used on of those last week.

      • Chrissy says:

Goodletsville Publix accepts the following: Kroger and Food Lion. You can not stack these coupons. a store or a comp with one manuf. They will follow exactly what the coupon says.

    • Karen D. says:

The Publix in Winter Park, at St. Andrews and Aloma, takes all competitors as long as they are in the area (no Food Lion, Rite Aid, etc.) I have used Walgreens, Whole Foods, Albertsons, Winn Dixie, Target, CVS, and Save A-Lot. They don’t have any problem with printables either.

    • dawn says:

was told by the publix in summerville that competitor coupons may be ending soon at publix. the lady at the register said they lost 10k last month. i would still use them until you hear otherwise but be on the lookout for something in their ads or on the door of your stores.

    • Darise says:

Lakeland Florida still takes competitors coupons

  2. Bevin says:

Helena and Hueytown (outside of Birmingham), AL

Takes Target, Food Lion and any other local grocery stores in the area (Piggly Wiggly, Winn Dixie, Food World, Save a Lot…..)

Can’t wait to meet you next week at the class.

    • Cathy says:

Will Hueytown really take a Food Lion? Wow, I did not know that!

    • Bobbie says:

Where is the class being held next week? Maybe I can find out on list above. Thanks for any info you can give me.

    • Bobbie says:

Oh I see now. Concord, AL Hopefully, I will be able to attend, pretty close.

      • jonna franklin says:

I heard about the class. what time is it? Our Publix in Hueytown also take rite aid and Cvs coupons 5/25 etc. Hueytown is the greatest. I was in there yesterday and laughed because on of the cashiers were educated a customer on stacking coupons and competitor coupons. I love it when the cashiers enjoy seeing customers save money. Go Publix Hueytown!!

        • Amy says:

Love Hueytown Publix they are the bomb.. they are excited about the class that my church is hosting! They are very helpful on doing the coupons and wants us there.. The class starts at 6 pm.

          • Angela says:

I think our luck has run out at Hueytown. A manager told me they no longer take Target coupons and a friend of mine was told yesterday they no longer take Rite-Aid or CVS coupons. On the bright side, as of last week, McCalla started taking Target, so that will help. It was great while it lasted.

    • April says:

Helena Publix will not take Target coupons but they will take Super Target coupons. In the last 2 weeks they decided to start taking the Super Target coupons.

Winn Dixie- Helena..They have a new manager Glenn Leimbach and they accept all local competitors coupons even Target and Super Target. This is per the manager and if they give you a problem ask for him.

      • Bevin says:

Hey! I talked to the manager at the Helena Publix yesterday and she said all target…I specifically asked if it had to be super target. She also told me they will take Food Lion now because Winn DIxie across the street does (did not know that).

    • Ln says:

      Trussville, AL (B’ham area)

store takes local grocery competitors (winn dixie, piggly wiggly, etc.) and target. No drugstore coupons are accepted.

      Hoover, AL (B’ham area)

I’m not sure what all competitors the new Hoover store takes, but I do know they take Target.

      • Lisa says:

Chalkville, AL Publix will take Target, Winn Dixie, and Piggly Wiggly including the 10 off a $50 purchase!
They did tell me that they would only take 1 Target coupon at a time…I went Friday and used about 5 with no problem, but on Monday they were down to only 1

  3. Sally says:

    Hermitage, TN Publix
Area grocery store coupons AND Target coupons, but not drug store coupons.
    Food Lion, Kroger, Target

Mount Juliet, TN Publix (just down the road): Only accepts area grocery store coupons
    Food Lion and Kroger

    • Tammy says:

Mt Juliet, Tn store ONLY takes local competitors - (they will not take Harveys since we do not have one here) - depending on the drug store coupon and the cashier, they may or may not take walgreens or other drug store coupons.

      • Crystal says:

        Smyrna TN

Takes local competitor coupons including Target because there is one right down the road. No drug store coupons though.

        Kroger, Food Lion, Target

        • Alaina says:

Goodlettsville, TN publix will take grocery and Target but no drug stores

          • Indi says:

            Publix in Lebanon, TN.

Accepts Target coupons. Does not accept CVS, Rite Aid, or Harvey’s.

Will accept 3 coupons per item- a manufacturer coupon, a store coupon, and a competitor’s coupon. Which makes us VERY happy!

          • CRYSTAL says:

            Lebanon Tn Publix
Will accept all coupons from traditional grocery stores. They also take Target coupons.

          • Jennifer L says:

Goodlettsville, TN will not take Target coupons since there is no Super Target nearby.

    • Ginny W says:

Gallatin tn will accept FL, Kroger, etc, but not Target, Rite Aid, CVS! :( I still get great deals and service non the less! Love me some publix!

    • Laura says:

Nashville, TN - west side of town (Bellevue/Pasquo area):

Grocery store competitors only: Food Lion, Kroger, Harris Teeter, Whole Foods. I have occasionally had a Target coupon go through but I don’t think its the usual rule.

      • Ginny says:

Never had a Target coupon denied at Hwy 100 Publix, but they have refused some Whole Foods internet coupons. It all depends on the cashier you get and the manager on duty.

        • cassidy says:

I agree Ginny, that it depends on cashier and mgr. I shop Publix in Bellevue on Hwy 70. They take traditional grocery stores…Kroger, Food Lion (even though we don’t have one close)- those are the only ones I’ve tried. I was told a couple of times recently that they stopped taking Target because our Target is not a SuperTarget, but two days ago, a mgr was helping at my checkout lane and he said “of course we do, if it’ll keep you shopping here and save you time and money”. I used both a mailable and a printable. That’s what I like to hear, but it seems to depend on the cashier and mgr on duty. They still let you stack MC, CC, and SC.

    • Jamie says:

hermitage, tn isn’t going to take Target coupons anymore. That’s what I was told 2 weeks ago.

      • Ashton says:

I was also told I could no longer use Target, Rite Aid coupons at Hermitage Publix :(

        • Sally says:

          Really??? How sad!!
I’ve LOVED that they would take Target coupons and with the choice to shop at the Mt Juliet Publix or the Hermitage Publix, I have shopped more at the Hermitage Publix simply because they have taken Target Coupons.

    • Julie says:

Publix in North Mboro, TN (at Thompson and Memorial) says they take grocery competitors (including Target), but not drug stores except for prescription coupons. I think some of my friends have been able to use drug store coupons there, though, so I guess it depends on the cashier you get.

      • Colleen says:

Publix at Maryland Farms and Moore’s Lane ( Brentwood and Franklin, TN) will take almost anything- Rite Aid, Target, Food Lion, Kroger, Whole Foods… I have never tried CVS or Wags though.
The one closest to me at Nippers Corner (Nashville) though WON”T take Target or Rite Aid.
I usually shop at Maryland Farms and they have never not taken a coupon!

        • Brandy says:

I am a die-hard Maryland Farms shopper and yes, they take all competitor coupons. Pretty much all. Bellevue store takes all grocery, Food Lion, Kroger, Whole Foods, etc and Target.

        • Colleen says:

Update: I went to the Moore’s Lane Publix today and my Rite Aid was denied! The cashier said they had stopped taking it two weeks ago. Bummer for me. I don’t shop at that one a whole lot, but went to see if I could find the Winter Savings coupon book (and I did!) Maryland Farms would have taken it but I can never find the coupon books there.

      • Abbie says:

I think it varies from one cashier to the next. The Publix on Franklin Road takes SuperTarget, Kroger and Food Lion. The Publix on S. Rutherford takes the same, but I have a cashier take the $5/25 Rite Aids before. I always try it, just to see what will happen, but I don’t plan my shopping around them. BTW, there is a Rite Aid literally across the street from the Franklin Road Publix, but they still don’t consider them a competitor.

        • Cashier says:

I work for Publix and I have no problem accepting coupons. The store manager can decide what coupons we take, and 90% will follow his rules. Once in a while the younger cashiers don’t pay attention and will take coupons that we do not accept. That makes it really hard on the rest of us, because if the customer comes through our line, we will usually get yelled at. Please just keep in mind that the cashiers do not make the rules, but we are suppost to follow whatever our manager says. I myself use coupons all the time, but never Rite Aid, or Walgreens. If you ever have a coupon problem please make sure to request a manager instead of getting frustrated with the cashier. I don’t know how many times I’ve gone home upset, because of rain check quantities or coupon problems. I love all of our customers and how much money they save. It even helps me know what’s the best deals so I can get the best buys for my budget(I have a family of 5 myself!) Honestly this is the only place I shop at because of the BOGO free’s. If it wasn’t for Publix I don’t know where I would shop at!

*Traditional competitors coupons means: The store has a meat dept, deli, seafood, and bakery. That is why we take Kroger, Foodlion, and Target. CVS, Rite aid, and Walgreens do not have the traditional grocery store set up. Although some stores will take these coupons most will not.

          Everyone have a blessed day!

      • Laurie says:

Murfreesboro, TN - south end of town near exit 84 will take grocery stores and Target, but not the drug stores.

      • Amy says:

Brentwood - Maryland Farms took my walgreen yesterday for $5/$30 - I asked her first and she said yes - total bonus for me!!

  4. Elizabeth S says:

select locations in Kennesaw, Woodstock GA (I have tried 3 in Kennesaw, 2 0f them took my coupons) I’ve tried 2 in Woodstock, both took them.

Take all competitor coupons, even Rite Aid 5/25, Food Lion, Harveys, etc.

    Norcross, GA

I’ve tried 2. One will not allow overage, but takes all the coupons mentioned above. The other takes them all and does allow overage.

    • Laura says:

      Canton riverstone accepts target.

      • Alexis says:

        roswell, GA

        Publix at Crossville/King take Target.

      • meg says:

        Canton Sixes Rd takes Target

        • Lisa says:

          Milton and Alpharetta, Ga
Bethany bend and Hwy 9/Old Milton stores take Target, CVS, Rite Aid.

          • Michelle says:

Bethany Bend would not take my drugstore coupons as of about a month ago. They will accept Walgreens RR but only one per transaction. They take Target as we have Superstores/Markets in the area and of course Kroger.

Freehome (Canton) & Post Rd (Cumming) have the same policy. They would not accept a Bi-Lo coupon a few weeks ago even though it was a manf. coupon.

          • Paula says:

Freehome took my Bi-Lo coupon for the Quaker granola bars a couple of weeks ago - I was able to get 5 boxes of the bars for 40 cents each! They are very good about taking all my competitor coupons.

      • Ray says:

Publix on Bethany Bend Alpharetta denied my wife in using manufacturer plus a competitor coupon (Target). They told her this was policy for about a week now (which doesn’t seem right since I was there less than a week ago and was allowed). We’ll have to start shopping at other ones…anyone know if the Publix near Old Milton/Haynes Br accepts both?

    • Jamie says:

Kennesaw, GA (Baker and Jiles rd) takes ALL competitors coupons . Here is what I use there: CVS and Rite Aid $/$$, Target, Kroger, Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid. I hope they continue :)

      • Carolyn says:

I live on the Cobb/Paulding county line in Dallas, GA. I either shop the Publix at Barrett & Dallas or the one at East Paulding and Dallas Acworth Hwy. They both have stopped taking CVS, Walgreens, and other drugstore coupons. They still take my other compet. ones, including Target though! =) (I WAS loving my $5 off 25!)

        • Michelle says:

The Flynn Crossing Publix will take Target and Kroger. I haven’t tried any others.

          • Claire says:

I live in Roswell GA where my local Publix takes Food Lion Q’s. They would not take a Kmart Rx transfer Q, haven’t tried any other drugstore or competitor’s Q’s. I work in Sandy Springs and there are 3 Publix on my way home, the big one at Roswell Road and Abernathy will not take Food Lion Q’s, but the other 2 will.

  5. Jerri says:

Charleston, SC is still taking competitors. yeah.

    • qponing09 says:

      Summerville, SC accepts:
Target, Food Lion, Bi-Lo, Wags, CVS, and Rite-Aid. I hope it continues (fingers crossed). Thanks for all you do Jenny!

      • Christy says:

Goose Creek also still takes them….I just used a Rite aid $5 off $20.

        • Christy says:

          Goose Creek, SC

        • Kim says:

The rules for competitors in Goose creek is:

Dollar General, Rite aid, CVS, save-a-lot, Toys-r-us, walgreens, and anything else in the area are accepted. Harvey’s is usually accepted even though there is no harvey’s around, it depends on what cashier you have. The rule is they can only accept one 5$ coupon per person. If you break it up into small 25$ orders to use more 5$ coupons you may get rejected depending on which manager is in. However if you have a 5$ coupon, a 4$ coupon, and a 3$ coupon you can use all 3. They also can’t accept a competitor coupon for more than 5$.

      • Amanda says:

        Summerville, SC (Trolley Road)
I have also used Whole Foods coupons and Dollar General coupons with no problems.

    • jennifer says:

anyone know about mt pleasant park west store?

      • ashley says:

Dont know about park west, but the publix on 17 in Queensboro shopping center takes all competitors! so do the publix in west ashley.

      • Victoria says:

The Park West Publix has taken Target coupons for me.

      • Susan says:

I’ve talked with the District Manager for the tri-county area…Charleston, Berkely, Dorchester, and he is encouraging ALL the stores to follow what Palmetto Pavillion at Ashley Phosphate and Dorchester Rds. is doing….. “If they are in the community and sell groceries, then they are considered a competitor.” They will take Target, Wags, CVS, Rite Aid, Sears Grand, Bi-lo, Food Lion, commissary, K Mart,Piggly Wiggly, Dollar General, … Mt. Pleasant, may not take the Sears Grand since it is across the bridge. However, Harris Teeter and Whole Foods would be accepted.

        • Publix Employee says:

I have worked at Publix in the Charleston Area for the past few years…We are ALL still taking ALL competitors coupons. There are a few stores that are being stingy…but the fact of the matter is Publix does not wish to have a scene made…so if you argue your point for even a second…they WILL give in. So keep using every coupon you can! P.S. I made a KILLING with the $4 General Mills Coupons this past week (I used 18 in 1 trip)!!!

          • jennifer says:

great info! i am fairly new to this, so I have been to shy to use comp q’s yet. now i know it is def OK! :)

    • Cheryl says:

Publix on Daniel Island takes Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Bi-Lo, CVS, and Target coupons. Our local Target isn’t a Super Target.

    • Apryl says:

      Publix in Goose Creek, SC

I have tried every competitor coupon out there, and they have accepted everything except Harvey’s (I didn’t realize we didn’t have one in the area). Even Babies R Us coupons. I love pubix’s coupon policy, I always save over 60%, usually closer to 80%.

  6. tiffany says:

Cumming, GA publix still takes competitors coupons

    • Allinole says:

      Cumming, GA

Takes Grocery Store coupons from stores in our area.

Kroger, Ingles. Also accepts Target, CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens

    • Tanya says:

      Cumming/Ball Ground, GA

Target, Kroger, NOT RITE AID, CVS, HARVEYS, FOOD LION (in my experiences)

    • Bonnie says:

The Midway Publix on Hwy 9 no longer accepts Rite Aid coupons.

    • Susan in Cumming says:

Cruse Marketplace Publix told me today that they would take competitor coupons, but that I could not stack them with Publix coupons, because they counted as a Publix coupon. I was trying to stack the $4 off 4 GM coupon with Cheerios MFG coupon and Target Cheerios coupon. I didn’t argue too hard because I was already saving sooo much it wasn’t worth $3 to make them mad…

  7. tara delong says:

My publix in Clearwater Fl is taking only grocery coupons they will not take Walgreens or CVS. I also had a problem with them taking the manufacurer coupon and the Publix coupons for the Zantac because of the overage they would not let me use both of them.

  8. Jen says:

    Kennesaw, GA @ Jiles/Baker

Takes all competitor coupons including RiteAid 5/25, Food Lion, Harveys, Target.

    • Teresa says:

I LOVE this publix. I pass the wade green publix to get here just bc they will take all of my coupons, actually even when I’m not using coupons I still rather drive the extra 5 miles bc they’re all so nice, I’ve never had a problem. Sometimes they’ll even replace an item on sale and let you use the coupon for the item that they’re out of stock of.

    • Lindsay says:

Great to know, I may have to try this location!

    • marie says:

Good to know, think I might switch my store to this one. The Publix at Baker/Cowan takes all competitors (Food Lion, Target, Kroger). They have not taken 5/25 Drug Store coupons …

  9. Bobbie says:

Allison Bonnet Drive in Hueytown, AL took one from me this past Monday on the apples. Think sometimes the cashier has a lot to do with it.

    • jonna franklin says:

I have never had any trouble with any competitor coupon at Hueytown, but McCalla is a grocery store competitor only.

      • Emily says:

The McCalla store is different every time I go in. I think a lot of it depends on which manager is there. They have some really great cashiers there, but one or two who are completely coupon illiterate!

  10. Stacey W says:

    Spartanburg, SC
    Takes grocery store coupons.
Food Lion, Bi-lo, Ingles, Savalot for sure. Not sure what else.

  11. mandy says:

Summerville, SC Knightsville store takes most drug store competetors coupons (Rite Aid, CVS, Target, etc.) but will not take Babies R Us coupons.

    • Tara says:

Really? I was there two weeks ago and Jeremy told me that they quit taking Rite Aid/Walgreens/CVS………. I’ll have to ask again!

  12. Dee Dee says:

    Jacksonville, Florida

Takes competitor’s coupons - Food Lion, Target and CVS have all been accepted.

    • Jessica says:

      Jacksonville, FL

      Also takes coupons from:

Walgreens, Whole Foods, Winn-dixie and Save-A-Lot

    • Kim C says:

      Jacksonville, FL

      They don’t accept Harvey’s though.

    • Tamara says:

Jacksonville, FL - Publix in Riverside even takes Rite Aid coupons, along with all of the other establishments listed.

      • Amanda says:

Publix on Normandy Blvd will accept all competitor. However, apparently someone tried a Kroger coupon so the manager is asking cashiers to look at who the competitor is. They are also starting to question Family Dollar - but I am still getting use out of these. (sometimes they publish coupons in the mail out on Wed w/Winn Dixie Food Lion ads.) I was told by the manager that there is an outcry from managers to the corporate office for an all across the board type of coupon policy. So use those coupons while you can!!!

Jacksonville - Oakleaf - I had the manager tell me they would not accept a publix store and a manufacturer on Zytec - there was no overage, he was just stating the language on that coupon states one deal per person per product and gave that as the basis of not accepting store and manufacturer coupons on the same items!! I will not shop that location again!!!

  13. Rebecca says:

    Charleston, SC
    Publix on Folly Beach Rd.
    Takes Target coupons for sure.

  14. Sally says:

    Huntsville, AL Winchester Road Store
takes competitor coupons - Target, CVS

    • brandygrapper says:

Also takes coupons from Kmart, Star Supermarket, Southern Family Market

      • Corrie says:

Where do you find coupons for Star Market and Southern Family?

        • Stella says:

Star Market coupons $5 off $50 are in the fund raiser coupon books the kids sell for school. Check with your local PTA. Southern Family Market coupons come in the mail periodically in a small booklet of coupons mailed to the general public.

  15. Cheryl says:

    Spartanburg sc
They do not take Target anymore nor any drug stores. Only grocery stores in Spartanburg.

    • Andrea says:

I can confirm this. My brother works in a managerial position at the Publix in Spartanburg and they will accept grocery store competitor coupons only. This includes Bi-Lo and Food Lion.

      • Amy says:

Duncan, SC near SPARTANBURG takes competitor coupons within 5 miles. Not exactly sure yet what those are…help!

        • Beth says:

Duncan’s Publix has always taken TARGET coupons too! :) Shopping really is a “pleasure” at that place.

          • Tracey says:

The Duncan Publix just last week refused to take my target coupons. They will take food lion, bi-lo, etc.

          • Amy says:

            Duncan, SC

I also love the Duncan Publix but it now ONLY takes grocery competitors Ingles, Bi Lo and Food Lion. Not grocery stores like Whole Foods. And not CVS or Rite Aid.

  16. Bridget says:

In Madison (both locations) and Harvest, AL they take target and kroger coupons but not drugstore or FLIPs since there aren’t any around.

    • Lara says:

Interesting… The Athens store still takes FLIPS and drugstores even though they aren’t around…

    • Stella says:

Actually, there are 3 Publix in Madison, and the one on Hwy 20 takes Target, Rite-Aid, Southern Family, Star, Kroger, CVS, and any other store in the area. It has the nicest group of people of all the stores, but the store is small and doesn’t have all the same items for sale as the other two.

  17. Michelle says:

    Summerville, SC
    Takes grocery coupons
Competitors, Food-lion, Target, CVS, and Walgreens have all been accepted. I was told they had to bee within a certain distance from the store for them to be accepted.

  18. Mandi says:

Publix in Trussville, AL and the Chalkville location both take Target Q’s, Piggly Wiggly…that’s all I have tried.

    • Krista says:

I work at the Publix in Trussville, off of Deerfoot as a cashier. We will take, Target, Piggly Wiggly, Winn-Dixie & Food World coupons. We stack manufactor with store to. I personally LOVE to see people saving money & try to share tips with them.

  19. Marie says:

    Tallahassee, FL

    Takes competitor’s coupons-Food Lion, Target, Harveys, etc….

    • Shannon N. says:

      Tallahassee, FL

Will take “supermarket” competitors. The new sign on the store window even changed to say “supermarket competitors”. Since this new rule has started, they’ve accepted Harvey’s, Food Lion, Winn-Dixie, Save-A-Lot. They have not accepted CVS or Walgreens (including RRs). I have not tried others.

      • jan says:

Hello- I called the Bradfordville store (Tallahassee) a month ago and they told me they did not take Target, Rite Aid or CVS

        • Paula says:

As recently as Sunday Nov 1 I used Target coupons at the Vinyard Publix in Tallahassee and the Lafayette store does also. I have heard the Southside publix is no longer taking Target Qs, not sure about the Blairstone location.

          • Paula says:

Meant to also say, both Vinyard and Lafayette no longer take Rite Aid or Food Lion since we don’t have those stores here. They do take Harveys.

    • Melanie says:

I used Food Lion, Harvey’s, Winn-Dixie and Target coupons at Blairstone today, and used a CVS $5/25 coupon there last week. Have used a Family Dollar coupon there recently also.

      • Paula says:

That is good to know. The Vinyard publix has been giving me some trouble when I have more than 15. They ask me how many I have and then they have to match up each one. Not a problem but it does take longer. I go at a slow time (2:00 on Thurs) so not a big deal. It has been frutsrating when they have to search through my stuff for each thing, so I have started putting it on the conveyor belt in the order of my coupons…

    • Leslie says:

Hi. I shop at either of the 2 Publix on Thomasville Rd in Tallahassee, FL. I have been able to use Target, Harvey’s, Food Lion, Walgreens, Walgreens Register Rewards, Winn Dixie (like $10 off $50 purchase)and sometimes my CVS ECB’s.

    • Natalie says:

      Hey Tally Folks,

New at this and wondering if publix will accept 2 manufacturer coupons on a B1G1 sale in our area? I read it varies and wanted to know your experiences.

Also, why would publix accept Food Lion as we don’t have one in town anymore? Called Lake Ella and they said no to Save a Lot coupons.

  20. Mendy says:

    Huntsville AL

Depends on the individual store in the area–all take grocery store and Target coupons, some (in Madison) take $/$$ Rite Aid coupons but in surrounding towns (like Harvest) they don’t. (This is a very recent change as well).

    • Beth says:

Does this include Southern Family Markets? (I know it should, as SFM is right down the street from Publix on Bailey Cove) Got a coupon in the mail the other day from SFM for $5 off $40, and some free items. Keeping my fingers crossed that they do!!!!

  21. Carolyn says:

    Cumming, GA

Excepts Competitor’s coupons- Food Lion, Target, and Drug Stores

    • Bonnie says:

The manager of the Publix at exit 14 told me that they didn’t accept Food Lion coupons, but will take everything else.

      • Courtney says:

Only exit 17 will accept Food lion since it is right up the road. No other Cumming/Alpharetta Publix store accept Food Lion Q’s unless you get a new cashier :-)

  22. Rhonda says:

    Hixson, TN

    Still taking all competitor coupons.

  23. liz says:

    Gainesville,Fl

Takes store coupons from Grocery and Drug Stores in our Area.

Food Lion, Target, CVS, Walgreens, Albertsons, Hitchcock, Mother Earth, Kmart.

    YMMV

    • Lisa says:

I shop at the hunters crossing publix and they won’t take walgreens or cvs. which one do you shop at?

      • Shelly says:

The Butler Plaza West Publix on Archer Road accepts CVS coupons, not sure about Walgreens? Hope this helps!

      • Mayra says:

Hunter crossing accept all those coupon, without problems.

        • carol says:

Hunter’s Crossing, the Exchange, and Springhill Commons accept walgreen’s, cvs, target, food lion. For me, they’ve never accepted Harvey’s, but it’s been a while since I asked. And of course WD, Albertson’s, Hitchcock’s, Mother Earth, Ward’s, other “real” grocery stores. I’ve heard that one of the Butler Plaza ones and also tower square accept walgreen’s target and cvs in addition to regular grocery stores, too, but haven’t tried myself, as I never shop there. The others in town only accept “regular” grocery coupons.

      • Megan says:

I also shop at Hunter’s Crossing. A week ago they took both CVS and Walgreens from me. They won’t take anything that requires a membership card, so you can’t use your ECBs, but I’ve used RRs and the CVS flu shot ($5/$25) coupons.

        • Krystal says:

For RR they just take the money off at Publix?

I have had a little trouble at Butler Plaza West (the newer Archer Road Publix) with Food Lion coupons. The bagboy convinced the cashier to not take my $1 off FL sodas awhile back because it wasn’t the same exact product as Publix stocks. I emailed Publix asking them about this, and the manager of Butler Plaza West called me back, saying that they don’t always take house brand competitor coupons because Publix’s products are of a higher quality. I could see that maybe when comparing cheeses or something, but soda? Come on.

At least the other Publix is literally two blocks away.

  24. Sharon says:

    Summerville, SC Knightsville store

    Takes competitor coupons, including Target

  25. Kat says:

Publix at Lake Dow in McDonough accepts competitor coupons

    • Stephanie Jones says:

      McDonough,GA @ Lake Dow

They accept Rite Aid, Target, CVS, Kroger, Walgreens
No Bj’s or Babies R Us

McDonough, GA @ 20/81 Accepts Rite Aid, Target, CVS, Walgreens

Stockbridge, GA / Eagles Landing Rite Aid, Walgreens,
No Bj’s or Target- not sure about CVS

      • Jodi says:

I was told that they will not take ECB because you need a card in which to get the savings at CVS. But, they take RR’s from Walgreens!

I love this Publix, they are very nice there and I have had very few issues with coupons.

        • Jodi says:

Forgot to say that they will accept the 5/25 coupons from all competitors….I had a stack of them last week that were going to expire, so I handed them to the cashier to share with others coming through the line. She was excited and took one for herself :D

      • Stacey says:

Publix at Lake Dow is awesome!!!

      • Estera says:

Publix on 20 in McDonough across from CVS going towards hampton, takes Target coupons and also they let you do more than one transaction (if you have the coupon) for the 1 cent item…They are so nice….

  26. Susan says:

Chattanooga, TN E. Brainerd Rd, takes Target and local grocery stores, no Drug Store and no $’s off $’s.

  27. Stacey says:

    Birmingham, AL

Store on HWY 31 does NOT take Target or drug stores. only grocery stores in the area :-(

    • Beth says:

The Publix on Doug Baker Rd. (Birmingham) does take Target and Walgreens as well as Piggly Wiggly and Brunos- The one On Valleydale only takes Brunos, Winn Dixie, Rite Aid and Walgreens, but they are more strict ragarding their IP rules.

    • Melissa says:

Hwy 31 in Hoover, AL does take Target/Supertarget coupons. I believe they also accept Bruno’s, Piggly Wiggly and Winn Dixie. I don’t think they accept drugstore coupons. They actually have a little card at each register stating which stores they will accept coupons from. They also state that they will not accept IPs for free items.

    • Andi says:

The Publix on John Hawkins (150) takes coupons from grocery stores in the area (Winn Dixie and Bruno’s) and Target. I haven’t tried Walgreen’s or CVS stuff there as they were pretty specific that they would only accept Target after the new one opened and turned down Food Lion since we didn’t have one in the area. But I will tell you that the staff here is extremely nice, always have been, and they offer so many wonderful deals that I haven’t ever wanted to take advantage and chance ruining it.

  28. Bear says:

Most of the Birmingham, AL stores take competitor coupons from Target, Rite Aid, Piggly Wiggly, Winn Dixie, Bruno’s, and KMart. Publix @ Lee Branch takes ALL of these…I called and asked a manager.

  29. Jayna says:

    Spring Hill, TN

Takes coupon from grocery stores in our area:

Kroger, Food Lion and Target (because there’s a superTarget down the road). They told me they only take them because it’s a superTarget…but wouldn’t if it was just a regular Target.

Will not take drug store coupons because they aren’t grocery stores, and thus, not competitors.

    • Angel says:

That’s correct! Our publix manager (Spring Hill, Tn) accepts Target because we have the Super Target ;-) He accepts Kroger and Food Lion as well…BUT they are all limited to what is stated on the coupon itself…for instance you can only use one Food Lion per like item per transaction…because that is how you could use it at Food Lion (one print per customer, etc.)
Some stores in Franklin and Brentwood are accepting CVS & Wags as competitors…BUT the Spring Hill store does not.

      • Amy says:

Publix in Brentwood,TN (cool springs)accepted the target coupon I used for OJ - but did not double the $.40 coupon.

      • Kelly says:

The Publix in Franklin on Riverside Dr. does not take drug store or Target - only Foodlion, Hills, Krogers and other local grocery stores.

  30. Michele says:

    Beaufort SC

Takes CVS and Walgreens. Not sure about any others. Does not double manufacturer coupons.

    • Amyy says:

Beaufort, SC also takes Food Lion and Target!!

    • kate says:

      Beaufort SC

We have had no problems with rite aid, cvs, walgreens, food lion, harveys and target.

To help you out, I called a couple of weeks ago before bombarding them with my collection, and they said they took all competitor coupons. I then asked…target, rite aid and se said “yes, all competitors”. So far I have had no problems and neither has my husband.

  31. Patty says:

    Greenville, SC

Takes only competitors in immediate area…those specified are:

BLOOM, BILO, WHOLE FOODS (and for Fresh Market at the South Greenville location on Pleasantburg which has a Fresh Market less than a mile away nearby)

    • Lynette says:

      Greenville, SC

In my area of Greenville they say they will take
      Bilo, SavALot, and Ingles
I haven’t found Ingles/SavALot qs to verify this.

      • Amanda says:

        Greenville, sc

McBee Ave in Downtown Greenville is the most coupon friendly Publix I have found, next would be the one on Wade Hampton in Taylors. The one on S. Plesantburg isn’t too bad, but have become somewhat more stringent. The worst is the on Hwy 123 in Easley.

In my experience, Publix in Greenville will accept Bi-Lo, Bloom, Ingles, Whole Foods. NOT Food Lion, Target, or any drug store coupons

    • RMD says:

      Mauldin (suburb of Greenville):

      Accepts: Bi-Lo Ingles & Bloom

  32. jenny says:

Publix on Rucker Lane in Mboro, Tn takes grocery and Target, not sure about the drug stores..

    • Brina says:

They will not take drug store coupons (CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid). But they do take Food Lion, Target and Kroger.

  33. Heather says:

Canton, GA (Canton- New location near Great Sky)

Takes Competitor coupons that are in the area, including Target but excluding drug stores. Ingles, Kroger, Target. No drug store Qs.

  34. Macy says:

    Savannah, GA

Takes Target, Wags, Rite Aid, Cvs, Piggly Wiggly, Food Lion.

  35. Ashlie says:

    Gainesville, GA

The store on Thompson Bridge only takes grocers competitors coupons including: Foodlion, Ingles, Kroger and J&J Foods

The store on Dawsonville Highway will take any competitor coupons: including Target! :)

    • Samantha says:

The one on Dawsonville Hwy will no longer accept non-grocery competitors (was informed this Saturday). They said they changed their policy this past week. They will continue to accept local grocery competitors (Ingles, Kroger, Food Lion, J&J, etc.).

  36. Heather says:

    Easley, SC

    Only grocery stores (Bilo, Ingles)

  37. Laura says:

Duluth, GA (at Medlock Bridge and State Bridge Rds.)

Takes Target coupons (there’s one right across the street!) but no other non-grocery coupons.

    • Laura says:

Correction: how could I forget? This Duluth store also takes Whole Foods store coupons, as there is one next door. :)

  38. TRACY says:

    COLUMBIA NORTHEAST (HARDSCRABBLE RD)

    FROM MY EXPERIENCE

ONLY ACCEPTS BILO AND FOOD LION

    • Marylee says:

Columbia, SC Harbison Publix will not accept Target as a competitor coupon

    • Shannon says:

Publix on Rosewood,Downtown and Hardscrabble will only take Bi-Lo and Food Lion from my experience also.

The Publix on Rosewood has more recently took Target.. but it is a hit and miss.

    • Jan says:

Columbia: Publix on Forest Drive does not accept Target or drugstore Qs.

    • Kristen says:

Publix in Columbia/Irmo at Lake Murray Landing will not take Target, drug stores or Harvey’s. They will take Food Lion and Kroger. I haven’t tried any others.

  39. Jessica says:

Publix at Westridge in McDonough, GA

takes Target coupons but no other non grocery coupons

    Publix in Locust Grove, GA

does not take any non grocery competitor coupons, including Target

  40. Carrie says:

    Mauldin (Greenville area), SC

Won’t take any drugstore coupons, or Target or Food Lion. They will take only direct competitors - which is pretty much just Bilo and Ingles.

  41. pamela says:

Mount Pleasant,SC will take ANY competitor coupon.I also want to note that I have been using 2 or more Rite-Aid (different values.i.e…5/25 & 4/20,etc…) and maybe even a bi-lo,etc…$ off’s in ONE transaction!

The only one coupon we had problems with was the Earth Fare Free Organic Apple coupon….would not accept it(?).

I do love my Publix…..wondering how much longer this will last!

  42. Dana says:

Duncan, SC is not taking Target or grocery stores.. Not sure about the other grocery stores though.. I can always go embarrass myself again tomorrow to find out though!

    • Kelly says:

Last week the Duncan store said they take Food Lion, Bilo, Ingles, CVS and Rite Aid. No Target, Walgreens or Harvey’s, but they change on a weekly basis. The Manager said that they take any store within 5 miles and if you have any problems with that ask for her. Which doesn’t make sense since Walgreens is across the street.

      • Kim says:

Whats her (manager) name?? I’d like to reference it when I try next - last I was told they said no to drugstores but not Target. So I started going to Spartanburgs, but they got strict (& consistent) with saying only grocery stores

        • Dana says:

Last week, they embarrassed the crud out of me. The boy checking me out just threw the coupons back at me. Then argued with me over the 4.00 coupon and stacking with the General Mills coupons There is another gal there that won’t scan all your coupons either, so make sure you count them before you hand them to her. The manager(the short black haired lady) came over and told me no competitor’s coupons and then wanted to know if there were items I couldn’t pay for b/c of the coupons. Suggested maybe I should just put them back. I just bought the stuff and chalked up the 10.00 loss as an experience to never go back to that boy’s line.. May start going to the Woodruff Rd store too just b/c that was such a bad experience last week..

        • Judy says:

The store manager’s name at the store in Duncan is Shelli Cook.

          • Kim says:

I called Duncan’s Publix today - talked to Shelly. She confirmed they only take food store competitor coupons within 5 miles - and no Target. Spartanburg’s east side is just as far/close to me. They have the same policy. And are MUCH nicer than the cashier’s people are complaining about in Duncan. NEVER had a problem at Spartanburg’s Publix. I think I’ll stick with them

  43. Tiffany says:

Lake City, Fl takes CVS, Walgreens, Winn-Dixie, Foodlion, Save-o-lot.

Does not take Target, Harvey’s, Whole Foods.

  44. Kelley says:

Panama City, FL (Lynn Haven Publix location) still takes Target coupons.
I haven’t used Food Lion, Walgreen’s, CVS, or any others, but I HAVE been told by the front desk that they WILL accept them.

    • Nathalie says:

I shop at both stores in Panama City/Lynn Haven and have used Food Lion, Harveys, CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, and Target coupons. I’ve never been questioned about them. In addition, I used Extra Care Bucks and $5/$30 CVS coupons. The cashiers never blinked an eye.

      • ginger says:

The Panama City 23rd Street store just let me know last week that they are now only taking competitors who are in Panama City. They no longer will take Rite Aid, Harvey’s or Food Lion. They will still take CVS, Walgreens, & Target.

      • ginger says:

just last week I was told by customer service at the 23rd Street store in Panama City, that now they will only take local competitors including CVS, Walgreens and Target. They will no longer take Rite Aid, Food Lion or Harveys’

        • Phyliss says:

Panama City, Fl and Lynn haven, Fl and the beach stores all take any competitor coupons that we have presented. My daughter just used 7 of the $5 off of each $25 purchase on one transaction. A friend had a problem with a cashier last week that wouldn’t let her stack some of her coupons. She called the manager when she got home and he told her to bring in her receipt and he would give her cash back for the coupons.

          • Phyliss says:

            Panama City

The $5 off $25 were Rite Aid Coupons.

          • Noel says:

Wow, I hadn’t even thought to try Rite Aid or stores not by us, wish I had! I know they take WinnDixie, Target, CVS. Have you guys tried using RR or ECBs? I would love to hear if those work as well. I love seeing other couponers in the area :)

          • Noel says:

Oh, and while I found some people in my area, how do you guys go about getting the coupon books? I can never seem to get them and when I go to Customer Service they often have never heard of them.

  45. Lynne says:

Ft. Myers and Cape Coral, FL
Select Publix will take Target coupons

  46. Shannon says:

Publix in Decatur, AL takes competitor coupons…CVS, Walgreens, Target, Foodlion, etc.

    • Lauren says:

When do you usually shop, Shannon? I go on Monday night because I drive a ways to get there and that is their truck day. I find that the cashiers are not knowledgable about couponing and are scared. I have been told (months ago) by the manager (on duty) that they will not take Target, FLIPs, or any other drug store coupons, except for traditional grocery store competitor coupons. I was wondering about this because it seems recently they have changed their policy because when CVS was giving out a lot of $5/$25 coupons the cashier mentioned that they had been seeing a lot of $5 off coupons coming through the line. I haven’t checked recently so if this is correct, yeah!!! I guess it’s a day by day thing…if you don’t at first succeed, try, try again!

  47. Brad Kessler says:

    Anderson, SC

Will only take store coupons or Bi-lo, and Ingles, but not Food Lion. Will NOT take Target or any drug store coupons.

    • Erin says:

Is this the Publix on 81 or Clemson Blvd.? I’ve used Food Lion coupons multiple times at the one on Clemson Blvd. without a problem. Wonder if they’re changing it to not accepting them now.

    • Ann says:

I’ve never tried competitor coupons at Anderson, but I called and aske the Publix on Hwy 81 a few weeks ago and was told they take Bilo, Ingles, Bloom, and Food Lion. I even questioned Food Lion when she mentioned it and she confirmed again that yes they take Food Lion. I’m planning on trying and asking for customer service if the cashier says no.

  48. Dawn says:

Eustis FL (hwy 441 & David Walker)

Takes Winn Dixie, Albertsons, Food Lion, Target

  49. Dawn says:

Mount Dora FL (hwy 441 & Donnelly)

Takes Winn Dixie, Albertsons, Food Lion

  50. Tania says:

    Prattville, AL

Takes coupons from Target, Rite Aid, CVS, Winn Dixie, & Walgreens. They only take coupons for specific items from the drug stores, not the $5 of $25 (or the like) coupons. I find this store to be VERY friendly & I LOVE LOVE LOVE shopping there! I usually try to go to the same cashier (since she knows me) and we always talk about how much money I saved!!!!

    • Danielle says:

      Good to know!! Thanks!!

      Montgomery, AL (Zelda Road Publix)

Will NOT take Target - only other grocery stores as competitors. I tried last week and the cashier and bagger both told me that corporate came down and had a meeting with the manager. The manager has been instructed to write them up if they accept anything other than manufacturer or grocery store coupons.

      • Danielle says:

I have used Food Lion as competitor. I asked about military (commissary) coupons and he said I would have to ask the manager when I came in with some. They weren’t allowed to take them w/o manager approval.

      • Renee says:

Dalraida Publix in Montgomery, AL takes:

Target coupons, Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS, Winn Dixie, Dollar General (they had a $5/$20 a couple of months ago). They allow drugstore $5/$25 coupons. They accept any competitor store coupon as long as the competitor carries grocery related items and the coupon as a barcode. This is straight from the mouth of the manager, Ron Corbin. This is an excellent store. The staff are very friendly!

        • Dianne says:

Dalraida Commons store is great! I have commended them for outstanding customer service through the Publix website. I recently confirmed that they will accept Honeybaked Ham Qs, which will come in handy during the holidays.

    • April says:

I also shop at the Prattville Publix and LOVE IT! The people there are so friendly! Side note: If you are looking for a Advantage Buy flyer, but there are none out front, ask the customer service desk for one. I was looking for one a few weeks ago and asked the girl at customer service. She said they had to restrict the amount that they put out in the open because people would come in and take them by the stacks! So, thanks to some very greedy people, they had to make it difficult on the rest of us honest shoppers. She said that if you get it from the counter, they do not mind giving 2 or 3 copies to one person. But the amount that some people were picking up was unreal. (According to the employee) Same goes for all coupon books. So, for any Prattville, Alabama shoppers reading this, if you see a coupon book or the Advantage Buy flyers, please only take 2 to 4 tops. Please leave some for the rest of the shoppers. It is only fair to those people who can not be there as soon as the store opens to get all of the coupon books and flyers. Thanks!

    • Damien Barber says:

Taylor Crossing Publix (Montgomery, AL) takes Target coupons and that is all.

  51. Elizabeth says:

    Huntsville, AL (Owens Cross Roads)

Accepts local grocery store coupons, including Target.

  52. Betsy says:

    Sebring & Lake Placid, FL

Accepts Winn-Dixie, Food Lion and Target.

  53. Judy says:

Duncan, SC would not take my Target coupon but took Rite Aid $4.00 off $20 coupon.

    • Tonya says:

I talked to the manager at the Duncan store and this is what she told me..
      * any competitor w/in 5 miles - grocery store or drug store, this includes CVS, Walgrees, Rite Aid, Food Lion and Bi-Lo
      * will not take Bloom, Target, Babys R Us
      * they do NOT allow overage, the cashiers should adjust the coupon to make the item free
      * they don’t take competitor coupons or internet printed coupons for more then $5.00

She said be sure to check w/ your individual store, as different district managers and store managers have different policies.

  54. Meredith says:

    Prattville, AL

Accepts all coupons except Rite Aid

    • Jerica says:

The manager told me they only accept local grocery store coupons, not Food Lion or other grocery stores not in the area. They told me they accept Rite Aid coupons, but they won’t use the $5 off $25 purchase coupons like they use to. They accept Target, Walgreens, Rite Aid, and CVS.

    • Wendy says:

Prattville, Al does not accept Food Lion or Harveys though. They use too but not any more.

  55. Pamela says:

Lawrenceville, GA (Sugarloaf Pkwy at Five Forks)

Only grocery store competitors - Ingles and Kroger.

    • Samantha says:

Do they accept Target b/c I was told by a cashier in there they would not take any competitors coupons.

The publix off five forks will not take any competitor coupons but the publix in Centerville off Hwy 124 takes all coupons, CVS, Riteaid, Target Food Lion, Harvey’s, etc….

  56. Alison says:

    Alpharetta, GA (Bethany Village location)

Accepts local grocery store coupons (haven’t tried Food Lion since there is not one near here).

They are also still accepting Target, CVS and Rite-Aid coupons.

    • Michele says:

You may want to double check that, they told me no target coupons!

    • Michele says:

      Alpharetta GA

Midway area Publix excepts Target & Kroger…will not take Drug Store Coupons

    • Jamie says:

      Alpharetta
Bethany Village will take Target, CVS, Kroger, Rite Aid, Walgreens.. the only ones they told me no on was Babies R Us and Food Lion. I also have used the above at the Publix on Hwy 9 and Old Milton

    • Tina says:

      Alpharetta, GA

Publix @ Haynes Bridge and Old Alabama

Takes local grocery store coupons only. (Target, Kroger)

They do not take CVS, Rite Aid, or Walgreens.

  57. Jessica says:

Dallas, Ga still takes target and Food lion

    • Sarah says:

Which one in Dallas, GA? The one at New Hope off Dallas-Acworth had a few signs up months ago; first that they weren’t accepting drug store coupons, and second that they weren’t accepting Target.

      • Rebecca says:

I just used Target and Food Lion Qs at the one on Cedarcrest last week. Harvey’s were a no-go, though. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, I’ve never heard of it. LOL!

      • shawn says:

Yes, the one in New Hope takes Target, Kroger, and Food Lion. Also, the one on Cedarcrest Road takes the same and the one on Cobb Parkway (Hwy 41) in Kennesaw takes the same.

  58. frugalapolis says:

    Tampa & Temple Terrace, FL
takes grocery stores that are within 5 miles, so only Save Alot and Winn Dixie. Also takes Target coupons. Also will accept recently expired Publix store coupons

    • Willowbeth says:

Where in Temple Terrace will they take Target? I shop at both the 56th & Fowler store and the Busch & 56th. I have been told by the managers at both stores that they do not accept Target.

  59. Shelly says:

    Lexington, SC

Only takes coupons from grocery stores in the area. No drug store coupons accepted. Had a problem using a P & G Save a Lot coupon once. They finally accepted it but the cashier checked with the manager first and I got the impression that they weren’t happy about accepting it. It does say Redeem at Save a lot on the Q.

    • Stacey says:

I was wondering about Sav-A-Lot. I got the most recent Sav-A-Lot q booklet too and was wondering if the Lexington or Ballentine Publix would honor them. The Ballentine store seems to be more lenient so i may save those q’s for that store.

    • Jenny says:

There is a Sav-A-Lot in Columbia, however all of those coupons are manufacturer coupons and will scan at the register so you shouldn’t have to convince them anyway

    • Katie says:

Lexington will not take Target either. In the State last week, there was a sticker on our paper for $5 of groceries at the Pig and Publix took it–very pleasantly surprised! :)

  60. Mandy says:

    Thomasville, Ga

will accept Target, Harveys, Food Lion, CVS

will not accept Walgreens, BiLo, Save-a-lot

    • Karen says:

      Thomasville, GA

They accept rite aid, I have also used walgreens in Thomasvile

    • Andrea says:

I have used Walgreens register rewards there as recently as a couple of weeks ago. Also a relatively recent development is that they will only accept one coupon off a total order per customer per day (e.g. 5/25 Rite Aid) - they had been accepting multiples, like 4 coupons on a $100 order, but no more.

      • Paula says:

RRs are manufacturer’s coupons. Publix should take them and so should anyone else but CVS in Tallahassee at Bradfordville would not. I said “just scan it and see” but she would not.

    • Misty says:

I just double checked with Jared, a manager and he said that they accept from:

      Walgreens
      Rite Aid
      CVS
      Winn Dixie
      Target
      Harvey’s
      Food Lion

Only one dollar off of total can be used per person per day…

    • valerie says:

with CVS and Walgreens coupons you have to watch the wording…any CVS coupons that require CVS card they will not take. Walgreens has many coupons in their ads that offer an item at a sale price, publix will only accept ones that give a specific amount off of an item. for example “dawn detergent .99″ won’t be accepted, but “0.25 off dawn” is ok.

  61. Angie says:

Goose Creek Publix takes everything. As long as it’s not expired, I’ve never had them refuse a legit coupon. Target, Rite Aid, Save a lot, Food Lion, even Harveys and Bloom. Amazingly generous policy there. Thanks Mike! (The manager).

  62. Wendy says:

Newnan, GA (all 3 Publix stores)

Takes only grocery stores coupons from Kroger and Food Lion.

Does NOT take any coupons from Target, pharmacy, or other grocery stores.

    • SK says:

      Peachtree City, GA (2 stores)

Only grocery store Q’s, no CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid or Target accepted.

      • Lisa says:

        Peachtree City, GA (hwy 74S)

does except Target and cvs, walgreens, and rite aid along with other grocery store coupons. I called all of them in Fayette and Coweta area!

  63. Katherine says:

The Seven Hills Publix in Dallas GA:

accepts all grocery stores and Target…does NOT accept drug store coupons

    New Hope Publix:

rarely grocery shop there but there was a sign that said ONLY traditional grocery stores accepted…a coworker has even had problems with Food Lion because the Dallas FL is more than 5 miles away….thats why I usually just shop at the Seven Hills Publix

  64. Alissabeth says:

Montgomery AL takes Winn Dixie for sure. I don’t think Target, because it isn’t a Super Target with food. I haven’t ever tried Rite Aid or CVS, but they do take RR from Walgreens since they are MQs.

  65. Kristin says:

Huntsville, AL and Alabaster, AL both accept Target as competitors because they each have groceries.

  66. gloria says:

Marietta Ga (E. Cobb location @ Woodlawn) accepts Food Lion and Target, I’m not sure about drug stores - however they will not take drugstore $5/25

  67. Jodi says:

    Fayetteville, GA

    Only accepts grocery competitors.

    Food Lion and Kroger

  68. Cathy says:

    Bessemer/McCalla , AL (metro B’ham area)

Accepts Target, Brunos, Piggly Wiggly, Food World but are sometimes weird about Winn Dixie because it has a loyalty program *eye roll* (it usually depends on the cashier)
I’m pretty sure they don’t accept any drugstores.

  69. christina says:

    Pensacola, FL
Accepts Winn Dixie, Walgreens, CVS, Target.

    • Laura says:

Yay! Another Pensacola couponer! Which Publix do you shop at?!

    • Diann says:

Do they accept the Walgreen’s Register Rewards or the CVS ECB’s; just curious. I’m new and I know they will not take Food Lion; however, I wasn’t sure about the others.

I usually shop at mobile highway but am eager for the 9th ave store to open (11/18) as it is closer to my home.

      • benz1968 says:

I haven’t tried Ecb’s but I have used RR’s. They seem to be fine with them as long as you don’t use a bunch of them. I would limit to 2 or 3. I shop at the University PKWY one and love it. They never give me hassles with coupon. Mobile hwy store would not let me use my $10 off $50 Winn Dixie first. They said I had to use all my other Q’s first then if total was $50..I could use. Well I wasn’t gonna be at $50 after all my manu. and Publix Q’s. Crazy..Winn Dixie doesn’t do it that way besides my manuf. Q’s are as good as cash.

Even when they open 9th ave. store I will probably keep shopping University Pkwy…they know me, my coupons and they totally get it and understand it. They want my business..you can’t beat that.

Pensacola, Florida- University Pkwy store accepts:
Winn Dixie, Walmart, Food World, CVS, Target, and Walgreens.

  70. Nichole says:

    Montgomery, AL

    Publix, Taylor Junction:
They will take Target and Winn Dixie Coupons only. Will not take any drug store q’s >_< Hopefully some other stores in the city will…

  71. Dani Merritt says:

    Lawrenceville, GA
    Sugarloaf & 316
Only takes Ingles, Kroger. Possibly some Target as of Nov. 1st

  72. jessica says:

    peachtree city, ga (both)

    traditional food stores
ingles, havertys, kroger, ingles, and whole foods

  73. Michelle says:

    Kingsland, GA
Takes Harveys, Winn Dixie, Target and Walgreen’s Register Rewards.

  74. Andrea says:

Dacula, Georgia takes Target, Kroger and Ingles but no drug stores.

  75. jessica says:

hampton, ga (the one on 20 near 75)

will accept target .. but not foodlion

  76. jessica says:

    lovejoy, Ga (on 19-41)

    DO NOT TAKE compeititor (any)
unless it says manufacture..:(;( very sad

    • Sandra says:

Jessica, Be thankful you at least have a Publix…sounds like a great store. Hasn’t made its way up to VA yet :(
      Maybe someday!
In fact, I am not aware of ANY grocery stores that will take a competitor coupon. I tried to use a food lion q at Kroger one day and they fussed and wouldn’t let me.

  77. Sheila says:

    Lognaville, GA

Will only take competitors coupons within a 10 mile radius:

Kroger, CVS (no EC Bucks), Walgreens, and Ingles

  78. Janelle says:

    Mableton, GA

Takes ALL competitor (even though Kroger is only direct competitor). Takes Food Lion, Harvey’s, Fresh Market, Target…literally, anything.

  79. Lisa says:

Marietta, GA (Dallas Hwy/Barret Pkwy) accept local grocery store coupons only and Target coupons - NO drugstore, NO Food Lion, NO Harvey’s

I wonder what would happen if we took this list (THANKS JENNY!) and spoke to each of our local Publix managers asking them to accept what everyone else is accepting. It is so wishy-washy on what store will accept what.

    • Amy Bradley says:

I spoke to a customer service rep at this Publix last week and she said they will accept ALL competitor coupons, including Harveys and any others that aren’t in the area. She mentioned the Harveys by name.

    • Dana says:

YES! I have used Harvey’s coupons at this location, no sweat. I even stacked Target and Harvey’s w/a manuf on one item and it was fine. Never tried drugstore coupons, but i will ask them about it

  80. Sara says:

    Mableton, GA

Veterans Memorial Providence Pavilion location - takes any grocery store competitor coupon (even if they are not in the area), takes Target for grocery items, and Walgreens (they share a pking lot so consider them a competitor)

  81. Stephanie says:

Villa Rica Publix accepts Target, WalGreens, CVS, WalMart (like WalMart ever has coupons!)

    • MIcah says:

      Candy posted it below
      Candy says:
      November 4, 2009 at 10:18 am

      Villa Rica, GA
My Publix takes coupons from Target, Kroger, Ingles and Walgreens.
Walgreens probably only because it is right across the street.
Target and Kroger are quite a drive.

My addition to that is they do not take $/$ coupons from Walgreens. I’m pretty sure they don’t take CVS, and if Walmart puts out a coupon they will take it.
They other thing is they have limited the length of their rainchecks to two weeks and you can only get 2 deals on rain check.

  82. Peggy Jo says:

    Athens, GA

Accepts local grocery store coupons (not Food Lion since there is not one in Athens).

They are also still accepting Target, CVS and Rite-Aid coupons.

    • Jacquelyn says:

The Watkinsville location would not take a Target q. I didn’t specifically ask about drugstore q’s, but the cashier told me they only take Kroger and Bell’s q’s.

    • Lauren says:

Yes, Butler’s Crossing Publix in Watkinsville is much pickier about their coupons. The Publix on Atlanta Hwy in Athens is WONDERFUl! They accept so much and their customer service/cashiers/managers are always so helpful and very polite! They accept any competitor coupons from stores that are in the Athens area–grocery or drug.

  83. Cari says:

anderson SC on clemson blvd only takes grocery store competitors - food lion, bloom, bi-lo, etc NO target, no drug store

  84. A says:

Gainesville, fl and valdosta, ga are still accepting

  85. Rachel says:

    Tuscaloosa, AL

Rice Mine Rd Publix takes Target and Winn Dixie, but NOT Rite Aid or CVS anymore.

The McFarland Publix will not accept Target coupons or any drugstores.

  86. Nicole K says:

Riverview, FL. Publix on 301 in Summerfield Crossings Shopping Center will accept competitor Q’s from Target SuperStore and Winn-Dixie.(Not 100% of any others) They will not accept from Drug Stores as they do not consider them competitor’s.

  87. Lisa says:

Santa Rosa Beach, Florida still accepts Winn Dixie, Target, CVS, & Rite Aid.

  88. cassie says:

Atlanta, GA–Sandy Springs area Publix locations (Hammond Dr. and Peachtree Dunwoody Rd. & Johnson Ferry and Ashford Dunwoody Rd. stores)

My Publix locations regularly accept Target, Kroger, Walgreens, Rite Aid and CVS coupons, including $5/$25, etc. I have not attempted to use coupons from other competitors, but the competitors I listed have all recently worked for me! :)

    • Megan says:

You are lucky, Cassie. I shop at the Hammond and P’Tree Dunoowdy location and have not been allowed to use Target Q’s in a long time. I may try again since you are having luck with them.

    • Caroline says:

The one near Emory, Toco Hills Shopping Center at LaVista and N. Druid Hills says they only accept grocery store coupons, but when there was a question about Rite Aid 5 for 20, the manager said it was good. They accept Target, Kroger, and any other grocery store, I guess. I haven’t tried any Food Lion coupons there yet, but I will this week.

  89. AngelaDH says:

Ooltewah (Snow Hill) still takes Target but no CVS EBs or Walgreen’s RR. (Also takes Food Lion and Bi-Lo.)

    • Freedom says:

And they will usually only take 1 target coupon per entire order.

    • couponssssssss says:

They will accept Babies R Us coupons if it’s for an item they carry

    • ashley says:

I am just curious if you all do this every time or has it just been a one time deal?? I am asking because I tried to use target once & the cashier said no, so I asked the GM and he also said NO… So I have not even attempted it again!! So I would love to be able to use them if that is actually their policy!! It would help out alot!!

      • AngelaDH says:

Was it for a specific item? I know they don’t take any competitor coupons that say “$5 off any produce purchase” or anything of the sort.

      • Julie says:

I just asked this question last week in Ooltewah and was told they do not take competitor coupons. And I recognized the cashier, she’s probably been there as long as they have been open. I guess some cashiers take them and some don’t???
        Julie

  90. jennifer says:

Smyrna, GA (S. Cobb Dr @ East-West Connector) - takes Target coupons, I’m not sure about drugstore coupons.

  91. tami says:

    Lawrenceville, GA

    Old Peachtree (Shops at Huntcrest)
Will take grocery store competitor coupons, including target, but not Rite Aid, etc.

ALSO, some of the cashiers and some of customer service (would be nice if they ALL said the same thing at the store!) have said they only accept one competitor coupon per transaction.

  92. Tara says:

Publix in Oviedo, a tiny little town outside Orlando, takes all competitor grocery store coupons. Even though there are no Harvey’s or Food Lion’s in the area, they will still take their coupons. They also take target grocery coupons. Thanks for all you do.

  93. Shelly says:

Hendersonville, TN will accept Kroger only

  94. Taylor says:

Warner Robins, GA on Russell takes competitor coupons, Target and Food Lion, but just found out today they had a meeting last week and will now only take one per item on the coupon. i.e. you can’t use 2 printed Jimmy Dean coupons but they will take one.

The location on hwy 96 doesn’t take any Target coupons but will take RR from Walgreens up to $3 (that was a couple weeks ago though)

Also, just found another coupon book at Publix on a Nabisco display it is called “Jingle in your Holidays, Party Planner” has $40 in savings inside.
    $5 off Clue:Secrets & Spies
$10 mail in when you buy participating Nabisco products
    $.55 off Nilla Wafers
$1.00 off 2 (7 different coupons off such things as Wheat Thins,Planters, various crackers, Honey Maid, Triscuts…)
    $1.00 off 2 Maxwell House
$1.50 off 1 Starbucks coffee 12 oz bag
$1.00 off 2 General Foods International (coffee)

    • Taylor says:

I left off that all the Publix in Warner Robins, Ga take Kroger.

      • Ingrid says:

New policy on 96 store: takes all Comp. coupons: Rite Aid, Target, CVS, Walgreens, Food Lion, Winn-Dixie, Kroger. In the past I have used ToysRUs, but haven’t tried it recently.

    • Donna says:

I have found the Publix on Russell only accepts local competitor grocery store coupons (no drugstore coupons, etc.). They also told me that soon they will no longer accept internet coupons that have been cut out. You must bring in the full page.

  95. Amy says:

Does anybody know about Vero Beach, FL area? I am planning to shop there in the near future!

  96. Tammy says:

    Douglasville, GA HWY 5 location

Takes Target coupons. Not sure about drug store coupons.

  97. sandi says:

Mine in Duval/Clay on Argyle forest and blanding takes target still, not sure about other locations

  98. Jessica says:

    Saint Augustine, FL

Takes all store coupons, as long as store is local:
Winn Dixie, Food Lion, CVS, Walgreens

  99. Kelley says:

Simpsonville/Greer, SC area Publix will take Earth Fare, Bi-Lo, Ingles, & Whole Foods

  100. paula says:

    Brunswick, Georgia

    • DLS says:

According to the Male manager (morning), Brunswick, they accept all grocery store competitors, including Target…they do not accept Rite Aid, CVS or Walgreens. I have personally used Winn Dixie, Target, Food Lion and Harvey’s. They do still double. They do still allow stacking (store coupon, competitor coupon and manufacturer coupon).

      • Mandy says:

I have not had any luck using Target coupons at the Brunswick Publix and was told they do not accept Save-A-Lot coupons because they are not a “regular” grocery store(whatever that means!). But, I can not complain as I have only had a problem once using my coupons and that was the fault of the cashier who acted as if I was personally ripping her off. I know now to steer clear of her!!!

        • Margaret says:

I was also told by the male manager at Publix (tall guy) and cashiers that they do not take Target coupons anymore, only regular grocery stores. I have no problem with them taking my Harvey’s and Food Lion coupons, though, so I am happy.

  101. MiniMidgMom says:

Spring Hill Tenn, off US31 takes FL, Kroger and Target. They do not accept drugstore coupons unless they are marked “manufacturer’s” and they can scan them. They do take Walgreen’s RR for this reason!

They have also stopped letting you use up to 3 coupons per item: they used to let us stack a manq, Publix q, and competitor’s q. Now it is one manq plus one store - and that store is either Publix or a comp so no more than 2 stacked coupons.

They are also following the restrictions on comp q’s - so if a FL coupon says cannot be combined with another coupon or can only be used once per transaction then they will hold you to that. The person who bought 65 bags of trail mix with FL coupons really pushed the manager over the edge and that is a fact, not just my personal opinion! Big changes in how that store takes comp coupons have happened because of her!

  102. Erin says:

    Vinings, GA (near Atlanta)

The Publix here has accepted in the past month Target, Harvey’s, Food Lion, Rite Aid ($/$$), CVS ($/$$), Kroger. These are all I’ve attempted, and they’ve been accepted without problem…except that they don’t take more than one $/$$ competitor coupon in a single transaction.

  103. Huckabyfam says:

Powder Springs, GA - - Publix at Lost Mountain

Accepts direct grocery competitors only: Ingles, Food Lion, and Kroger

  104. Tiffani says:

Tampa, Florida (3 New Tampa locations):

Apparently, I need to shop elsewhere. It appears that most Tampa Publix stores take Target/Walgreens coupons. The 3 in my area will NOT (boo) although there is a huge SuperTarget in our area, several Walgreens and 2 CVS stores.

    • Deana says:

      Lutz, FL (Tampa, FL)

My Publix (at Dale Mabry & Van Dyke) will take Winn Dixie, Albertsons, Food Lion and Save-A-Lot…but not CVS, Walgreen or SuperTarget and there is a big SuperTarget near me too! I don’t get it!!

  105. Pam says:

Tucker GA on Hugh Howell and at Northlake - both will take Kroger, Ingles and Target coupons. They do not take Walgreens or CVS.

    • Heather says:

The Publix on Memorial Drive/Rays Rd (Stone Mountain, GA) takes Target, Walgreens, CVS, Sav-a-lot, Kroger. I’m not sure if they take Rite Aid, I’ll have to ask next time I’m there.

  106. jac says:

    carrollton ga
    takes Target and kroger

    NO drug store coupons
they will take Kmart Register rewards

    • Melissa says:

I thought Carrollton, GA took more coupons than that, so I called them up.

They take all coupons from any grocery stores. These include: Kroger, Ingles, Target, Food Lion, and Wal-Mart. I don’t think there are any other direct competitors in our area, but if there were, they would take them. This includes dollar amounts off your entire purchase, along with the typical food and non-food coupons.

For drug stores, they will accept coupons for specific items of food. They will not accept coupons which give you dollar amounts off your entire purchase, like Register Rewards and Extra Care Bucks. Drug stores they accept are any in the area, which include Walgreens, Rite Aid, and CVS.

  107. Katrina says:

Publix on Peachland in Port Charlotte FL takes all coupons including: Sweetbay, Winn Dixie, Walmart, CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens, Food Lion and Harveys and also Target

  108. yelena solo says:

Publix- Gulf-to-Bay and Belcher- takes Super Target, Albertsons, GFS Markerplace store

  109. couponssssssss says:

Ooltewah, TN (between Cleveland and Chattanooga, TN)

Takes Target AND takes BABIES R US coupons if they are for an item that Publix sells

  110. Becky says:

I live in Mt. Juliet TN and our Publix (not the new one going in by Providence) takes the competitiors but they are now limiting how many we can use. They take Food Lion, Save a Lot and Kroger. I used a Food Lion $1.50 off Huggies Pull Ups, a Publix and a Manuf Coupon for one pack and the lady told me they are now only accepting 1 competitor coupon so if I wanted to do the same transaction again I couldn’t do it that day.

  111. Becky says:

Oh, and the Publix in Mt. Juliet will take RR because they are Manuf. Coupons!!!

  112. pam says:

    Hueytown, AL
    our publix takes EVERYTHING!!
We LOVE our publix and our managers and they love us for giving them most/all of our grocery business.
    THANKS HUEYTOWN PUBLIX!!!!

    • Megan says:

      Pam,
Do they take Walgreens, CVS, Food Lion, Harvey’s, and Save-A-Lot? I just want to make sure. For this week I was in the store & the CS tried to tell me the $4.00 GM coupon had expired on 10/29. Even though I just picked up their flyer while coming into the store on Thursday & the sale just started on the 28th.

      • Bobbie says:

A cashier took “one” RR from Wags at Hueytown and no more RR’s. Haven’t tried any more since that one time. I think it depends on the cashier. The cashier I had Monday was great. Hope to get her everytime I go in.

  113. Sara says:

Canton, GA Hickory Flat Publix takes all competitor grocery stores, Target, and drugstores.

  114. Stacy says:

Marietta, GA - Delk Rd @ Powers Ferry Rd

Accepts every coupon I’ve tried, including Target, Rite Aid, Walgreens, Food Lion, Harveys, and Babies R Us. They don’t blink an eye or ask questions about the competitor. The only restriction is one competitor coupon per item, which can also be stacked with a Publix coupon and manufacturer coupon.

  115. Esmelda says:

    Gainesville, FL

    Ooltewah, TN

Does take all Bi-Lo and Food Lion coupons (except FL $3 off deli for example, it has to be specific!)

They DO NOT take TARGET coupons at all!!!

Nor do they take ANY drug store coupons!

I know that some have gotten past these, but this is what the GM told me, so I dont even try, cause Publix is so awesome and I am sooo afraid they will cut out coupons all together its NOT worth it!!!!

  118. Terry says:

The Publix in Decatur, Al takes every competitor coupon.

  119. Lynn says:

    North Georgia Mountains

  120. Michelle in Martinez says:

    Newnan, Ga…

  122. Kim says:

    Irmo, SC

The Publix at Kenerly Crossing wouldn’t take my target coupon for granola bars last week and they wouldn’t take my food lion coupon this week. The Food Lion one was .50 off Food Lion sugar and they used to take that if you bought the Publix brand. ?? The manager told me they had a big meeting and they really changed their coupon policy. Does anyone know all of the new rules?

NO TARGET, but do take local grocery stores: Piggly Wiggly, Food World, Bruno’s, and Winn Dixie IF it doesn’t require customer reward card

  125. Leigh Ann says:

The Publix on Eagle’s Landing Pkwy in Stockbridge, Ga takes Rite Aid and Walgreens coupons, but they do not take Target coupons. I am not sure about CVS, but I would think they do since there is one right down the road from there.

    • Sonya says:

I had asked a lady at the customer service desk (back in May) at the Pelham Towne Center Publix if they took Target coupons. She told me no, that they only take grocery competitor coupons. I mentioned that the Colonial Promenade Target sold groceries (even though it’s not a Super Target), but she still said no. That is good to know that you have used them successfully…and the CVS coupons too! I think I will try again. Thanks!

    • LH says:

I was in the Pelham Towne Center store tonight. I spoke with the manager and a cashier they both comfirmed that they started taking the Target Qs again a month ago. For those of us fortunate enough to have received those Target $5off/$20 or $5/$50 qs in the mail, we finally have a place to use them!

    • Brandie says:

Do they accept $ off $$ CVS coupons?

  135. Sue says:

    Lawrenceville, GA

I only shop at Simonton Road and they have taken all competitor coupons: Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Harveys, Kroger, Ingles, Rite Aid, CVS, Target. If it’s for “Archer Foods” then they won’t match it with their store brand. This is a WONDERFUL Publix! If you are shopping at a Publix that gives you a hard time with coupons, GO ELSEWHERE. You “fire them” by not giving them your business.

    • Hope says:

Pasco County - Trinity Publix will accept Super Target Albertsons, Food Lion, U-Save and SaveALot. While they do accaept Food Lion and U-Save which there are none around, they will not accept Target which in the same shopping plaza - this really doesn’t make any sense but that’s the way they play the game.

      • Dianne says:

I shop at the Trinity store all the time. It is so frustrating that they won’t accept Target coupons unless they are Super Target coupons. Do you ever see Super Target coupons? I usually only see regular Target ones.

  165. Shannon says:

Laurel Springs Publix accepts Target, Kroger and CVS coupons. I was told by the manager that Rite Aid is too far away to be considered a “direct competitor” (though there’s one only about 5 miles away).

  169. Joy says:

Murfreesboro, TN (outside Nashville you have been here right?)

Ours takes Food Lion, Kroger, Save a lot, printed Target (I think the ones that say Target web coupon r the only ones, not sure but I know I used one the other day). I was told no drug stores once so have never tried them.

Thanks for all the hard work

  170. Ginger in Macon says:

    Macon, Ga

Publix on bass road takes food lion, kroger, and target coupons (but they will not double competitor coupons).

  171. Victoria says:

    Simpsonville / Mauldin area
Publix does not take any drugstore coupons or grocery stores not located in this area. The ones I know they take are Bloom, BiLo, Ingles. They do not take Food Lion, Harveys, Harris Teeters ?

  172. Theresa says:

    Canton, GA
    @ Prominence Point

Will take grocery competitor coupons but will not take them if they are for specific departments (produce, bakery…).

I have only been following southern savers for a few weeks so I have not tried to use many coupons at many stores. But I did shop at the Publix at Prominence Point in Canton last night. I tried to use a Target $1 Q for a bag of apples and was denied. I also tried to use a $1 for $3 produce purchase, Harvey’s Q, and was also denied because it was linked to a specific department. I was told that the Publix at Bridge Mill in Canton, GA would have taken these coupons. I will try this store next time I shop.

  176. Mandi says:

    Gainesville, FL
    My Publix takes anything!

  177. Kim says:

All central Florida stores take Target, Walmart and other grocery stores that are within 50 miles. They will not take Food Lion (unless you get an unwitting clerk=) This comes straight from the district manager, who called me after an email. He said they just in the last few months began taking “Super Store” coupons. They are only supposed to take grocery store coupons if they are within the vicinity. This is the corporate policy according to the manager I spoke to.

    • Dawn says:

I think each store is different. I’m in central Florida, Mount Dora in Lake county, and even the two stores near me that are less than 5 miles apart are different. One takes Target and the other doesn’t
(and there is a target in between the two publix stores). They both always take food lion and we don’t have a food lion with in 50 miles, I’ve even asked the managers at these stores and these are the store policies, each is different.

  178. Vanessa says:

The Publix store in Duluth, GA (off Pleasant Hill & Sweetwater) told me they still accept competitors coupons including Target, CVS, and Walgreens.

  179. Jennifer says:

    Nashville/Brentwood, TN

Store on Concord Rd takes only grocery store coupons: Food Lion, Kroger, Target. No drugstore coupons (Rite Aid, Wags or CVS).

They used to accept the GFS $5/50 coupons, but not anymore. :(

  180. Jules says:

I shop at the Target in Albany, GA. I have had polar opposite experiences with my couponing. Can anyone give me any feedback on their policy? Sometimes they take the drugstores and sometimes they don’t.

  181. Tracy Hurst says:

My publix in Vinnings, GA takes all coupons and it is #1 store in GA!!! I love it there!

  182. Meredith says:

    Tallahassee, FL

Publix has been taking Target coupons, but the cashier told me last week not for much longer.
They take harvey’s and Food Lion, I know….which is strange, since those stores aren’t in Tallahassee.
    And, they take Winn Dixie.

    • Meredith says:

oh, and they said “not much longer” on the Walgreens coupon either.
that just kills me…if you sell the same product, you are a competitor, in my humble opinion :)

      • Paula says:

We actually do have harvey’s stores here (one is on south monroe and the other was on West Tennessee / Cap Circ NW but I don’t know if it is still open)., and an IGA inside Leon County (woodville). I am not sure if IGA has coupons. There is also a Piggly Wiggly in Quincy which is considered “Tallahassee Area”.

      • Sean says:

How true. I can understand $off$$ coupons from drug stores and what not. But any product coupon should be game.

  183. Candy says:

    Villa Rica, GA
My Publix takes coupons from Target, Kroger, Ingles and Walgreens.
Walgreens probably only because it is right across the street.
Target and Kroger are quite a drive.

  184. Alena says:

    Taylors, SC

Publix on Wade Hampton accepts grocery store only:

    Bloom, Bi-Lo, Ingles

  185. rick says:

Public in Clay and Trussville Alabama take target coupons. But now they will take only one for a product for each transaction. Apparently target has printed this on their coupons now that only one coupon per item per transaction is accepted. I used to use mutiples on Target coupons—did they always say this or has Target added this to their coupons to prevent multiple items being purchased?

    • Steph says:

I found this out just the other day, apparently it is that they will take only one competitor’s coupon per transaction. I had a target and a winn dixie (on different items) and they would only take one of them.

  186. jamie says:

    Fernandina Beach Florida,
Takes Target, Walgreens, CVS, Food Lion

  187. Laura says:

7 Hills Publix in Dallas, GA (NW Atlanta area) still takes competitor coupons (Target, Kroger, CVS, Walgreens & RiteAid) plus they accept Walgreen’s Register Rewards coupons! I’m on my way now to us up a $6 RR I have to buy some London Broils. Waaaaay better than spending tem on yet more toothpaste ans/or dental floss! ;)

  188. gjn says:

    Winder GA

only considers “local” “grocery” stores to be a competitor (”local” is subjective based on who the cashier is. “grocery” means exactly that). Three months ago, they would take a lot more Qs than they do now.

  189. Leane says:

I know the Publix on Keith Bridge in Cumming Ga takes Kroger,Ingles,Food Lion & Walgreens RR. These are all I have used in the past, but was told by a friend that shops there they don’t take CVS or Target. Hope that helps someone!

  190. Michelle says:

    Cocoa, FL

The Publix on SR 524 will only accept coupons from other GROCERY STORES in the area (Winn-Dixie, Super Target) as well as, BJ’s Wholesale. They do NOT accept coupons from CVS, Walgreen’s, Family Dollar, etc.

  191. Lindelon says:

In Pensacola, FL they will except CVS, Walgreens, Target, Food World & Winn Dixie.

  192. Fairhope, Alabama store will take CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens, Bruno’s, Winn-Dixie, and Target

  193. Shannon says:

Murfreesboro tn still accepts all competetor coupons

  194. Laura says:

Newnan and Peachtree City, GA - will take competetor coupons ONLY from food stores, i.e., Kroger and Food Lion ~~ really depends on the cashiers at these stores as to what else they take. Some of them are super nice and some act as if the $$ is coming out of their own pockets!! One of them is so combative, the baggers have been embarassed by her behavior.

    • candy says:

why does everyone think that a grocery store should have to take coupons that are for drug stores? They are not a competitor of a grocery store.

      • Shelly says:

Seems to me they would be a competitor if I am going to take my coupons for food items and buy them at the drug store.

  195. Christina A says:

Jefferson, GA takes competitor coupons from Kroger, Food Lion, and Ingles only as of this week.

  196. Maka says:

St. Petersburg, FL and Pinellas Park, FL
Does anyone know anything about which stores take which competitors coupons? I only know about 2…
Publix at Gateway plaza on 9th St.
Publix at Roosevelt on 9th St.
Both Take: Winn Dixie, Sweetbay & Food Lion that I know of
I’m Wondering about the Publix in Pinellas Park or 38th Ave St. Pete

    • Dy says:

I frequently shop at Gateway Plaza and both stores on 38th. I live on Treasure Island and also shop there and at one other by the beach.
They’ve always accepted anything I’ve brought in, including CVS RR coupons and Target.

  197. Holly says:

Some Publix in Alpharetta/Johns Creek/Cumming areas of GA are starting to not take some non-grocery store competitor coupons; depends on what stores the Publix determines is a competitor (ie one takes Target and Kroger but not Rite Aid, one further down the road takes all).

    • Jessica says:

      Holly,
I just moved to GA this year and have only shopped at publix on Kieth Bridge Rd, Cumming. As of today they say starting 11/14 they will only accpet Ingles and Kroger as competitors. Do you know of any Publix stores in the area that will accept CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens $5/25 or RR’s?

  198. Heather says:

My store in Cartersville Ga 30120 takes Target for sure. I don’t use many CVS and Rite Aid. They will not accecpt anything over $5 off you total purchse. Thanks for all you do!!! =)

  199. Michele says:

I live right outside of Montgomery, AL. There are about 4 stores in Montgomery and only 1 will take the competitor coupons. The Dalraida store takes Target, Winn Dixie, WalGreens, CVS, Rite Aid and etc. They even take the Rite Aid 5 off 25’s or CVS. Great managers there! Prattville right outside of Montgomery takes the coupons from competitors but not the 5 off 25’s.

    • stacey says:

how many of the $ off $$ coupons can you use, I usually shop at the one in Prattville , but they have stopped taking the drug store $off$$ coupons (can still use $10 off $50 Winn Dixie)
If I buy $100.00 (Before q’s ofcourse!) can I use 4 of the $5 off $25 rite aid coupons
Also have they stopped doubling the ones that say do not double? I have read that some stores are stopping them from doubling
I always try to know how much my total will be (we try to stick to $50.00 a week, the more I can make that stretch the better) Thanks

  200. Rose says:

Cumming, Ga, off 369 and 306. They told me today they will only take Ingles and Kroger as those are the competitors in our area.:(

  201. kj says:

Athens, Alabama and Madison, Alabmaa Publix take Rite Aid and CVS 5 off 20/25 coupons just fine. there’s not even a rite aid, but a cvs in the town of athens. :)

  202. Sherry says:

Publix in Julington Creek takes Target coupons

  203. KWitt says:

Publix Hoover, AL took Target coupons 11/7/09. Publix Vestavia Hills, AL (about 3 miles from Hoover store) did not take Target coupons 11/8/09.

  204. Chattanooga - Hixson Store

Take all competitor q’s including stores, target, walgreen, rite aid, etc.

  205. Misty says:

Im from Thomasville,Ga My Publix here will take competitors coupons from Harveys/Fl and Target, & there isnt even a Target here!!

7 Hills Publix in dallas, ga
    takes Target, Kroger, Food Lion

  207. Jill says:

Publix in Columbus, GA on Macon Rd takes only grocery store competitor coupons. They will take from Piggly Wiggly and Winn-Dixie. They will take Military coupons, but will not accept from Rite-Aid, CVS, or Wal-Greens.

  208. Snellmom says:

Lawrenceville, GA (Sugarloaf & Five Forks)- takes only Kroger & Ingles, BUT they told me that Food Lion is coming to our side of town and they will soon take Food Lion.

Snellville, GA (Presidential Marketplace/Target shopping Center)- Kroger, Ingles, AND Target (it’s in the same shopping center)And yes, this is where I do my shopping when I have Target coupons.

  209. Kenny says:

    Gainesville, FL

Publix in my area (Butler Plaza (old and new), Tower Road, 34th Street) have all started telling me that they will only take ONE competitor coupon of any type per transaction. In other words, if I have a Target coupon for cereal, and cereal is BOGO, I can use 2 manufacturer’s coupons for that cereal, but only 1 competitor coupon.

The manager at the store told me “they are trying to get the word out”, and that the decision was made recently by the district manager.

I’m a little burned because Publix over here is basically the only true grocery store. We have one target right nearby and plenty of CVS, and only one food lion and albertson’s on the outskirts of town. I feel like the district manager made this move because there isn’t a lot of competition here and that you’re basically still going to be forced to shop there.

Especially considering that we don’t get doubling or penny items in this state, it kind of stinks for us that this is gone too. If I lived in Jacksonville or Tampa, there would be too much competition for them to enact this policy. What a drag.
