ebay-SellYourPhone_500x300-FINAL

Do you have an old phone (or two) lying around?  Don’t fall into the habit everyone does of trading it in… you really should consider selling your phone!  I’m all about cash rather than credit for old devices (you use cash a lot wiser than you do free credit…)

Ebay is my go to place for selling anything.  It’a simple and easy for anyone, and with selling your phone they have made it almost stupid simple.  The created s “Sell My Phone Tool” that walks you though to figure out how much your phone is worth and then gives you ideas for a starting bid and even a buy it now price (for anyone that doesn’t want to bid, they just want it now).

To give you an idea of what you could make:

  • An iPhone 4, 8GB in excellent used condition is going for $145 on average right now.
  • An iPhone 4S, 16GB, in excellent used condition is fetching $199!
  • A Samsung Galazy S III, 16 GB is going for $210.

The list goes on and on.

Many times selling your phone can actually become a money maker for you.  If you are due for a new contract with AT&T or Verizon you can usually get a great price on a new phone.  We did this over Christmas for my mom.  Target had the iPhone 5C for $5 after a new contract and gift card deal.  So we got her a new phone and then sold her old phone for $200!  In the end that paid for 6 months of her cellphone bill since she is part of our family plan ($30 a month for extra lines).

I encourage you to at least head over and see what you could get for old (or current) phone.  It may get the wheels turning and you end up with a new phone much sooner than you thought!!
