It wasn’t until last year that we took actual family photos.  Every year we take a self-timer picture in front of the Christmas tree, but there’s something about getting together for an actual photo shoot that we love.

I know that not everyone can afford to take pay someone for a full photo session, but it can be as frugal as you want!  Ask a friend to come over and snap a few photos around the yard of your family or head to your favorite park.  It doesn’t even need to be a fancy camera!  Dress up the whole family and take your Christmas card photos or just a picture to hang on the wall for no reason.  Offer to do the same for your friend.  You can each switch out photographer rolls and all you have to pay for are the pictures.
