10 things to buy at trader joe's

While I don’t do the bulk of my shopping at Trader Joe’s, I love going there to buy select items. They are known for cheap wine, but they also have great nuts, produce, and more! If you have a Trader Joe’s in your area, it is definitely worth the occasional (or frequent) stop.

Things to love about Trader Joe’s:

-They take manufacturer coupons
-You can return any item you don’t like
-Free samples
-No GMO’s in store brand products

If you are heading to Trader Joe’s, here are the 10 best things to buy there.

Produce

In my experience, the produce can be pretty hit or miss. Some deals that never let me down: bananas, carrots, mushrooms, fresh herbs, and organic greens.

My favorite deal: avocados. You can get (4) avocados for $3.99 everyday.

sourdough-bread

Bread

Trader Joe’s bread is not the cheapest in the world, but if you like specialty bread, this is your store. All of their bread is preservative free. They also carry Ekekiel 4:9, Udi’s, organic options, and more.

Be sure to check out the tortillas and pita bread too.

Specialty Cheese

While gouda isn’t on my shopping list every week, I do enjoy grabbing a (very small) block for a fun recipe occasionally. I have found the best prices at Trader Joe’s for these options.

Note: for plain on American sliced cheese, you are better off grabbing it on sale (hopefully with a coupon) at another grocery store.

coconut

Coconut Oil

If this isn’t a staple in your life yet, it needs to be. This is one of the most versatile of oils. You can use it for cooking, as a moisturizer, to make your own deodorant, and more.

They also have a great deals on olive oil and vinegar.

cookie butter

Cookie Butter

If you ask anyone what to buy at Trader Joe’s, they’ll say Cookie Butter. It is one of the absolute most loved items sold there. So go ahead and grab a jar. Or two.

Other Favorites: Cookies, pumpkin butter, almond butter, and pretty much any type of cracker.

Lunch Meat

Regular lunch meat is going to be cheaper at Publix, but if you want nitrate free, raised with no antibiotics, they have great options. It’s cheaper than Applegate but very similar in quality.

Frozen Meals & Fruit

Trader Joe’s has a great selection of frozen meals that actually taste really good. Added bonus: you should be able to pronounce all of the ingredients.

For the frozen fruit, you can find a pound for less than fresh (especially when the item is out of season).

eggs

Eggs

You can get plain-o normal grocery store eggs for great prices. You can also get cage free, organic, and more.
