My kids have always loved LEGO, and these days there are so many cool kits available for movies and games. However, those kits can be expensive, and if you’re anything like us, you have a ton of unused LEGO bricks in a big box somewhere. There are tons of ideas for making things with LEGO online, so I’ve rounded up 10 of my favorite FREE DIY LEGO instructions for kids. You may have to help your kids find the correct bricks, but older kids should be able to follow most of these instructions themselves.

In the process of making this post I discovered something called the Brickit App. It’s an app that allows you to take a picture of your bricks (all spread out on the floor) and then it will give you building instructions based on those bricks. There are some reviews that say sometimes it will recommend builds that need pieces you don’t have, but it still seems like a fun, free way to get more inspiration for fun with LEGO!
