must pay with starbucks card>? how do you get one of them>?

      • e-lane

It’s their gift cards, just need to “register” it online then reload it as you like. They encourage using it that way because sometimes customers opt to automatically draft from their checking acct when the balance hits a certain point so they can always use it in order to accumulate points for rewards of free drinks, discounts and such.

I’m not 100% sure but I don’t think everyone gets this reward. It already has to be loaded onto your starbucks card to receive it. For example, right now, I have a 50% off any breakfast item on my card. I think these “perks” of having a registered starbucks card are non-transferable. Let me know if I am incorrect because I would love a free drink! :)

Yes, it looks like there is tiny print up in the lefthand corner that says “MEMBER EXCLUSIVE”

      • Ashton

I already tried to do this. and you are right mshs. My husband got the email, I printed it and tried to use it with my card and it didn’t work. So for anybody that didn’t receive this email it’s not going to work

        • Stephanie Michele Saunders

it does work because I used it today. I never got this email. I told them the code and they scanned my card and it accepted.

it is a gift card in the store that you go online to register with your information. you continue to use that card everytime you buy drinks there, you must put $5 dollars on that gift card before you purchase-the card has to have a balance to work- and when you use that gift card enough times, they send you a gold card with your name on it. you still have to load $5 or more when you buy, but every 10 drinks one is FREE.

It’s going to take $5 worth of ink to print out this solid black certificate! I’m reducing it to a tiny box on the page, wonder if they’ll honor it that way?

    • Marik

You can’t use this unless you received the offer directly from Starbucks to the email address linked to your card, because it is tied to the particular cards they choose to send it to. If you didn’t receive this directly from Sbux, it won’t work.

agree! I just printed off Jenny’s coupon and got embarrassed when they would not take the coupon. Oh well. Learned my lesson since the coupon was not linked to my card!

    • purwiggy

This is member-specific and not available to everyone w/ a registered card, only to those it was sent to. (Your card is checked for the promo; it’s not just having the cert which gets you the reward.)

    • Kim

How do you use your card to pay if it is Free? I guess since the coupon is linked to the card the total comes off when you use your card.

    • Laura Polis

“member exclusive” probably applies to Gold Card Members. I have a gold card and this is not the offer I got this week, but it would likely work. The offer they sent me was for 50% off an espresso drink.

      • stellastar23

I’m not a gold card member, but I got the offer.

        • Laura Polis

ahh, then I stand corrected, and jealous :)

    • Brian Allen

I used it yesterday. Went in and said I wanted 2 and they gave me both free, you just have to show them the card or the app and they scan it… no charge was posted to it though

    • Leila

I went to Starbuck’s today to try to use my coupon. I gave her the coupon and my rewards card. She said that the offer was not “on my card.” I guess the offer has to somehow be sent electronically to your card for you to use it. She gave me my drink for free despite the confusion caused by the misleading ad. :-/

    • becca

      used mine today So Goood

    • Renda

It is a code loaded to your card. Starbucks sends the offers weekly to your card. I get mine on my app and via email. This week I received 50% off a food item. It is random. I talked to the cashier/barista at Starbucks and she said the codes do have to be loaded to your registered Starbucks card. So…if you were able to get the free drink, then you were one of ones who got it loaded to your card. Don’t fret if you didn’t, it’s possible you may get it later or something similar. If it’s any consolation, I have gold card and didn’t get the offer either.
