This has been a long week.  We found out Wednesday that we have renters moving into our old house next week.  Renting was God’s plan, not ours, so we were not ready at all.  We’ve been painting, cleaning and packing, and then more cleaning for the last three days!  Sadly because of all this my worst nightmare came true and I managed to forget I had a workshop…  I apologize to all that were there.  I don’t know if I will ever forgive myself, but hopefully you can forgive me.

Our grocery budget this week has been shot by fast food.  We normally eat out maybe once a week, and it doesn’t get counted into my grocery budget.  This week though we had two days where we grabbed food twice.  It hurts.  I packed lunches, but then didn’t expect to be painting through dinner, or the other way around.  There are just moments in life that we can’t plan.

As for groceries… when the painting is over things will be dire in our house.  We are down to the last bit of milk (I buy 3 gallons at a time), a few slices of bread, no produce…  I have to hit the store Saturday night at the latest to prep for folks coming over for Resurrection Day Lunch.

My lack of shopping is at least made better by Publix having a longer ad, now I haven’t missed anything and can still get the deals!

How did you do this week?  Leave a comment or a link to your savings post.

Don’t feel so bad about missing the workshop, Jenny. I once booked two weddings for the same time at my church. Cried buckets over that one!

Sending a virtual hug your way!

Oh, Jenny. I feel your pain. Sooo thankful for ALL that you do and “remember”. Newbie here, AZ

      Jenny,

As they say, life comes at you fast–you handle so much on a daily day and help so many of us manage our money more wisely. Anyone who can’t forgive a slip up like that doesn’t understand the meaning of “human” or “mother of 4 children”. As the brand new mom of one, it astounds me how much you are able to do (I know you have helpers, but still!)

But don’t forget about the Papa John’s deal if you haven’t done it already!!! We did ours last night with a gift card I had purchased off of one of the deal sites ($10 card for $5, so our $14 pizza was $9, plus we’ve got another one coming–$4.50 for a meal for 2 people that leaves leftovers isn’t too shabby)

That rental money sounds like a blessing–much better than having the house sit vacant while you are trying to sell it.

I will remember you in my prayers. It sounds painful, but God-willing, I hope your move and renting will be worth it.
Thanks to your website, I saved $56.00 at Publi, this week! I bought 4 mayo @ $1.49, surprised my husband with delicious medjool dates for $5.00 (it’s like eating candy), 2 Ragu @ $1.47, 4 Pepperidge Farm bread @ $1.50, Kroger apple pie $3.99 on sale (-$1.60 and -$2.00) =.39 cents, 4 juices without high fructose corn syrup for $2.00 each.

Anyone who follows you on your site, knows you care about people, so please forgive yourself about the workshop. :) Wishing you and your family a Blessed Resurrection Day.
