Oh, wow. That is very inspiring. Thanks, Jenny.

    • lovinlifeonless

I think it is great for you to get all that stuff and make it a moneymaker. But do you actually use all this stuff? At some point, you would have to stop stockpiling…no? I think my husband is not going to need deodorant for a year. He has forbidden me to buy him any more hahahaha :-)

      • family8

I know I many times we use extra items for gifts/gift bags or for our guest room goody basket. Also, teachers love toiletry items!

      • There is a point when you have enough. We actually took almost the last 3 months off from drugstore shopping.

However for things that we won't use that still help us get things we need (like today I won't use the fusion shave gel, but that went towards getting us FREE diapers and getting body wash we'll use) those items we won't use go to homeless shelters or other places that can use them.

        • scqponqueen

Jenny, I think we must have been typing in our response at the same time! LOL I'm just like you. I took a LONG vacation from drug stores and how I go about once a month and I only get the things that I see are starting to run a little low. Some months I don't go at all. Isn't it great to be able to share with others the things that before, you couldn't even afford to buy for yourself!! I love having a purpose in my shopping!

        • kaseyelisabeth

JENNY, I was wondering if you know all of the qualifying products for P&G in order to spend $30 and get the $10 Rite-Aid gift card?! Is it only the few items listed in the ad, or is there a bigger list I can choose from? Anyone know? Please HELP! Thanks!

Also JENNY, or anyone living in SC… I was wondering which Walgreens will let you use Register Rewards to earn Register Rewards on other items. I live in Columbia, SC and the Walgreens I shop at will not print Register Rewards when you use them to buy items that print them(like CVS). Does anyone know why some Walgreens have different rules?! I am CONFUSED… HELP!!

          • tamika

The Columbia Walgreens WILL let you use your RR towards items that get you RR's..but they just cannot be for the same ones.. Example: if you earn $2 RR for buying a certain shampoo, you can use it toward buying the diapers that earn you $3 in RR, then if you want more-use them opp each other (these numbers were made up completely…just from an old transaction I did)

            • kaseyelisabeth

Thank-you Tamika!!! Exactly which Columbia Walgreens are you referring to? The one on Forest Drive? I did not know you could do it this way, because the employees told me otherwise! :( I had a very rude lady at the Forest Drive Walgreens tell me that this is a business and you could not do that!!! How rude!

          • Extreme Couponer in DE

Register Rewards can be tricky & confusing….You can use them for purchases of new items that will generate RRs, but they can NOT be from the same manufacturer—READ the Register Reward you plan on using before purchasing anything with it! If you are trying to purchase something from Procter & Gamble (that should print out a RR) with a P&G RR it will NOT PRINT YOU another RR! This is true for ALL companies & Register Rewards. Just read them 1st & then you can figure out which ones you can use to purchase new items.

            • kaseyelisabeth

Thank you Extreme Couponer!!! :) The information you provided has helped me a lot. I have $5 in Register Rewards from Kotex last week. I wanted to use them on Dr. Scholls gel inserts to get the $10 in RR!! :) I will have to look up if they are affiliated with the same company! THANKS AGAIN!

      • scqponqueen

If she is like me, after a year of doing this, I go shopping a LOT less often. I am so stockpiled at my house that I only need to hit Rite Aid, CVS, and Walgreens about once a month if that and don't need much when I go. I have learned to streamline my shopping and if I do find myself with something that I'm not going to use, I donate it to our local food bank. They also take non-food items for people who need them. Nothing goes to waste at my house :)

      • Josie

I don't think I will ever come to the point where I can pass up anything that's free…as long as I have someone to give it to! I have a system in place where I limit what I keep in stock. When I go over my set limit, I donate the overage to a local children's home.

      • Debbie33

Donate Donate Donate! How can pass up on free!?! We have several Haitian refugees here in Atlanta area. Our church is helping them out and I am sure they can use these items! :)

    • MomMe

Where can I print or get the $5 off $25 RA coupon?

    • I'm hoping to get my $12 rite aid rebate check from last month this week and use it towards the pampers to score free diapers.

    • susan

if anyone ever has a stockpile of items they don't need, PLEASE, check out the local CHILDRENS SHELTER in YOUR area…most aare in great need of supplies…whn children come in, many teenagers, they come with very little, and it is such a treat to let them go “shopping” in the donation room for things like shampoo, shavers, perfume lotion, some make-up, a new toothbrush, (i have had several kids say they have never had a new toothbrush before). Shelters can also use diapers, wipes, cleaners, well just about anything really, especially food. So please keep that in mind, especially when it costs little or is free, why not pick it up an donate it…it could change a life.
      =) thanks

      • lovinlifeonless

Susan, your post brought tears to my eyes. I will look into it. Thank you!

      • Elizabeth

Susan is 150% right! There are all kinds of places that need help, especially in these tough economin times. I used SwagBucks to find a local half-way house for abused women and children. (I got the idea from my grandmother that had a donation made to the local shelter or food bank instead of flowers for her memorial. The woman LIVED to serve others and didn't “let a little thing like death stop (her).”) I had a year supply of (FREE) Listerine (thanks to SouthernSavers and CVS) among other things that I just couldn't use before they went bad. The volunteers eyes were the size of half dollars when I came in with 15 boxes of food/toiletries/ clothes (our old ones)/ and baby items I received at my baby shower. (I miscarried shortly after, and I just couldn't let it go to waste. It was very healing to have good come from a terrible loss.) It means EVERYTHING to these people. Women get to give their children some normalcy while they get their lives back on track. Find somewhere, ANYWHERE, to donate items/ time to. You can change somebody's life!

Even if you're only out to help yourself (I pray this isn't the case): Most donations are tax deductable, you can earn SwagBucks if you use their search engine, and you can get stuff out of your house.

      • MandM

I do the same and ABSOLUTELY agree! DONATE – Many children have nothing!

    • Cole05

I admit I avoid Rite Aid b/c of the rebate check once a month. What all is involved with getting your rebate check? Would someone please shed a little light on this subject for me. I think I may be missing out here!

      • colagirl

This past weekend was my first trip to Rite Aid. The SCR system was simple – just go to their website and fill out your information. Actually you can do it before you go or afterward. When you get home, log into the website and enter in the store number, register number and transaction number into the form. That's all. It is ridiculously easy – in fact, I felt pretty silly for not doing it before.

I would still say CVS is my favorite store just because they are so helpful and open to coupons. But I would put Rite Aid in a strong second. Definitely above Walgreens – even having to log into the website and enter data was far easier than having to deal with Walgreen's cashiers, unfriendly coupon policy and having to waste money on stupid filler items.

        • Cole05

I totally agree with you about Walgreens. They took my Mom's q's for the
b1g1 Purex last week earlier in the week and when she went back for me (b/c
I live in NC and we don't have a Walgreens close by) they told her they
wouldn't accept those q's anymore. I don't understand why stores (ie,
Target, Walgreens) are giving such a hassle over coupons lately..They're
getting their money from the manufacturer anyway. I don't get it, like with
the Purex sale, it was like the manufacturer was paying US to use their
product and the store wouldn't go along with it and accept the q. They
would've still gotten paid for (1) of the Purex's just by the manufacturer.
And I agree with you on CVS too. I think they will take a coupon for just
about ANYTHING. Which I love! Don't get me wrong. I don't abuse the system,
It just makes me uncomfortable to go into a store knowing I'm going to have
to “fight” to get to use my coupons.
Thanks for the info about Rite Aid. I think I will start doing that.
          Happy Saving!

          • Nicole

Here in Northeast Ohio they told us that Corporate told them to pull all of the Purex off of the shelf for the week! That way, of course, we couldn't use the Q's! They were told to only leave one stocked on the shelf!

        • gery220

I agree that CVS is my favorite as well. Walgreens, way too much problems and they make u feel so bad. Rite Aid we dont have one here in Miami, Fl…

          • cindersga

I did Walgreens once and will never do it again. What a mental nightmare. I actually like Rite Aid more than CVS. I don't have to think about rolling one ECB into another. I just buy my product at Rite Aid, give them my store Q's. Mfg. Q's, and Video Q's and to top it off the Rebates!!!

            • bridgeti

I agree. I don't have a cvrs and I can't stand keeping up with the walgreens rr's and all their rules about coupons and when rr's will print. I LOVE my Rite Aid- they are great about taking any coupons and the SCR is SIMPLE to submit online and they have soooo many great store coupons.

      • I *love* the Rite Aid SCR program. You sign up online, enter in receipt information online and file for your check at the end of the month. I usually get my check within a week or two after filing for it. With the SCRs, sale prices and coupons, you can often spot some good moneymakers.

      • Ln

Cole05…Rite is very easy. All you have to do is shop all month long and purchase the things that will receive a rebate. Go online to the Rite Aid website and create an account for rebates (it's all very simple). Each time you shop during the month, go online enter in your receipt info. (also very easy) and it will calculate it all for you. At the end of the month you can click to submit for your rebate and your check will be mailed. Note, though, that you can only get one check for the month. So if you click submit during the middle of the month, then come across a deal later on, you will not be able to submit for another check for that month. It's very easy. Sometimes, it's a little more money up front (not always), but if you're willing to do that, you can almost always make a small profit. Hope this helps and if anyone notices any mistakes in my comment, by all means, correct me so Cole05 doesn't have the wrong info.

        • Ln

Okay, sorry for all the typos above. My 21 month old is in my lap and I didn't really realize how badly I was typing since my focus was keeping his little hands off of everything else on the desk.

        • GGood

The only downside, a small one at that–is that Rite Aid has your rebate money for a month or so. At least with CVS you can use it right away. Overall, I really like CVS because of the cashiers' great attitudes. One did huff and puff because I did four transactions, but it was worth it because they have a great clearance section for stuff that doesn't sell well in that part of town!

      • seagull7

The thing that's so cool about RiteAid is that you get a CHECK – not a coupon you have to use in the store (tho you can if you want). I just take mine to the bank and not worry about having to spend it in store by a certain day. It's simple, but it's a little delayed gratification, that's all.

      • MandM

I avoided RA for many months when I first started couponing b/c it seemed too complicated. Once you get the hang of it, it's AWESOME! W/ the RA video coupons, in-ad coupons, manu coupons, the $4/$20 coupons and soon the Wellness coupons (I live in the test area and they are AWESOME) and the SCR (rebates), I usually make money on everything I buy! I shop now 90% RA, 5% WAGS and 5% CVS. Really!

      • Kristen

I think the Rite Aid system is actually the simplest to understand. Just buy the items that have a SCR, enter your receipt information on their website, then request your check at the end of the month. I'm getting a check for $21.99 from last month!

    • DecaturNewbie

I'm a newbie. Please explain why you put these (and many other posts on your site) in 2 separate transactions and what that literally means. Are you making the cashier actually ring it up separately with two separate payments and receipts? If so, why?

P.S. Thanks for all of the information. I have been using your tips for a few weeks now and saving about 30 – 40% at the grocery store. I hope to keep improving that percentage as I get better at this.

      • DecaturNewbie

Oh wait, I think I just figured it out. Is it because of the $5 off $25 Rite Aid Coupon?

        • Cole05

For this transaction, I could see it being because of the $5/$25, but I know at CVS and Walgreens, I ring up several different times, because I use the ECB/RR that I earn on my next transaction, spending less OOP and not having to save it for my next trip to that store. Happy Saving!

    • Lisa

I was just checking over my list and I noticed that according to the flyer I have, the Gillette body washes don't count toward the P&G gift card. My says only the razor cartridges or shave gel. I wonder if thats regional because I could do so much better if I could count the body washes in the total and get them free. :)

      • It is just the shave gel.

So for the above deals, we have the (2) Diapers $9.99 ea, (2) Toothbrushes $2.74 ea and (1) Shave Gell $4.79 = $30.25

Just enough to qualify for the $10 back :)

        • Lisa

Thanks Jenny. I appreciate you showing your examples. It really helps me figure out how to split things and what to buy. I don't have a baby but I have two friends with baby showers coming so it looks like i can give them some diapers for free. :) i didn't think i was going to be able to get the gift card w/o spending more than getting back.

        • MomOf4Blessings

Jenny, the register wouldn't take my Covergirl B1G1 coupon yesterday, and the cashier said that they were told recently not to take B1G1 coupons on B1G1 sales anymore. Did you have any trouble with that coupon today, and have you heard about a new policy regarding that?

          Thanks!

          • gkfcbf93

I used the B1G1 cover girl coupon today without any problem! I was wondering if they would have let me use the $1 q as well with that, I didn't think about that!

          • I would encourage you to print out their coupon policy and take it in with you. It clearly states a bogo coupon may be used on a bogo sale! :)
The coupon beeps because it's coded wrong. It beeps for everything. The y will have to manually enter it.

I bought four Covergirl Simply Ageless items yesterday, used two bogo coupons (which were manually entered) and a $5/2 Simply Ageless (from yesterday's paper) then paired all that with a $5/20 and bought Pampers with my $10 overage!
Did it three times and also threw in a Crest and earned my $10 gift card.
            sweet.

            I loooooove Rite Aid!!

            • MomOf4Blessings

Awesome! I didn't know the coupons were coded wrong. I printed the coupon policy and will take that when I go back. I hope I have a nice cashier who will enter the coupons manually for me.

It sounds like you did great yesterday, Brandy!!

            • Becky

The manager at my store insisted that he could not manually enter the BOG1 Covergirl coupon to work on the Simply Ageless products, but did take it on the Advanced Radiance products. I can't figure out why, but at least I was able to use it on something.

            • kaseyelisabeth

Brandy, I used the BOGO Covergirl and the $5 off 2 Covergirl and Olay along with a $5 off $25… so I had a $10 overage as well and used it to buy 2 Lash Blast mascaras and 2 Covergirl eyeshadows, I had $1 off Q's for all 4 of the other covergirl make-up products, so I got everything for FREE! I was super excited seeing that I had saved over $58!!!

I was wondering though (if you know), to qualify for the $10 Rite Aid gift card do you have to pay for everything in one transaction… or can you still qualify for the Rite-Aid gift card by doing multiple transactions?! PLEASE HELP! :)

            • Diane

Will you list what you bought and used? I like your idea and I need make up–but I am new to this and I can't figure out how many foundations you bought. Thank you so much!!!

            • kaseyelisabeth

              Diane,

I bought 2 Covergirl Simply Ageless Foundations @ 15.99 each and used a BOGO Covergirl product plus a $5 off of 2 Covergirl Simply Ageless products and a $5 off $25 Rite Aid coupon.

Once doing this you have a $10 overage, and since Rite-Aid has BOGO Covergirl make-up this week, I opted to buy 2 Covergirl Lash Blast mascaras @ 8.99 each, and 2 Covergirl eyeshadows @ 3.69 each, and I had $1 off coupons for all 4 of those, so my total was .03 cents.. basically FREE! (Since the items are BOGO at Rite-Aid this week, you only pay for one product!!)

You can use 1 coupon toward each product along with the $5 off $25 printable at Rite-Aid!!

Remember to print the one page Rite-Aid coupon policy and take it with you just in case they tell you you cannot do this! Or you can call 1-800-RITE AID while in store, if they get iffy with you. It clearly states in their policy that you may use a BOGO manufacter's coupon towards their BOGO sale, essentially making the item free!

              Happy shopping! :)

            • Ashleigh

Where did you find the $5/2 coupon?

            • Anonymous

Do you mean the $5 off $20 q? If so, then you’ll earn it by watching the Value Videos at RiteAid.com. When you watch enough credits, you get one $5/$20 q per month. HTH!

            • kaseyelisabeth

Rebecca, I have seen this many times on this site… and was wondering what “HTH” stands for? LOL.. thanks!

            • RebeccaFer

Hey Kasey, sure, HTH means hope that helps. :D I've been online since 1995-ish and totally get into all the web lingo, may be a little too much sometimes, lol. YKWIM? (You know what I mean?) :D

            • Anonymous

Ashleigh, if you are referring to the Covergirl $5 off 2 Covergirl Ageless Q it was in this past Sunday’s paper. I live in Columbia, SC. I am not sure where you live, but coupons vary from state to state. You can try couponcarryout.com. I have found their site useful when I didn’t get a certain Q I want in our Sunday’s paper. :)

            • tuckyblue

brandyK i'm new to this couponing. what do you mean overage of $10.00. and applying to the pampers on sale. and did it three times?? sorry for being so dumb about all this. thank heaven for you guys.

          • mpurcell

I had the same problem today at a Lilburn GA RiteAid – I'm going back tomorrow with my policy in hand to get my deal!

        • Alli

does it count before tax of after for the $30 needed? i got $29.70…….before tax……… ACK!

        • I did not relize it till just now, but my shave gel was only $4.49. I am $.05 cents away from the gift card!!! I need to find something cheap to buy so that I get the gift card. Any ideas? By the way I will be seeing you Sunday in Easley, I am so excited!!

        • How do you request your P&G rebate check? I didn't see it when I registered for my SCR. Yesterday was my first time to shop at RA and I really had a great experience at the one in Lexington.

        • elisa

I did this the other day (2 pampers, 2 oral-b toothbrushes, and 1 gillette fusion). I just checked my RiteAid account and it says I don't qualify because my total was $29.95! Now I'm going to have to run back to RiteAid and buy the cheapest qualifying thing I can find to make up the last 5 cents! Arrrg!

    • BIG JOHN

They dont make diapers big enough for me, and i aint having more kids. Thay being said my wifeand daughter love the free makeup john friada and cleansers. I GET THE FREE SKITTLES AND STARBURST. STILL WONDERING WHY I AM CALLED BIG JOHN? LOL

      • alexzillasmama

Hi Big John, Are you the angel that does the updated coupon list for the AJC in Atlanta? If this is you, many thousand thank-yous for making it easier to coupon!!!
        Thanks,
        Stephanie

        • qcrazynana

Yes Big John. I agree. We all appreciate you very much!!

      • Lisa

Donate the diapers to a food pantry or church or organization that help pregnant/new mothers in need. When you drop the diapers off the Big John will be a title of respect for your generosity!

      • bridgeti

I always have someone at church or in my family that is having a baby, so I always pick up cheap diapers for baby shower gifts.

    • alexzillasmama

I was wondering about the Pampers coupons from the PG section on 2/21. Mine are for Pampers Cruisers, not Baby Dry…can I still use them on the diapers that are part of this sale at Rite Aid? Thanks!!

      • MomOf4Blessings

The Pampers Cruisers are on sale also for $9.99 (or at least they were at my store).

      • frances2716

i was wondering the same thing b/c thats what she used on her order so i guess it does work with the baby dry.

        • carolyn090

by accident i grabbed the wrong diapers, pampers baby dry, didnt notice it until i got home . i dont remember it beeping ,the coupon went thru fine from what i recall.

      • Carla

The cruisers were not part of the sale in the Murfreesboro, TN store and they wouldn't let me use the coupon on the Baby Dry ones.

    • JamieB89

      Jenny,
Do you know where I can find a copy of Rite Aid's Coupon Policy? The clerks at my nearest Rite Aid never go out of their way to help you and always go over and over your coupons… I am afraid they will not let me stack a B1G1 Covergirl coupon on top of a B1G1 sell….. :(

      • JamieB89

Just a FYI.. I just got off the phone with Rite Aid's customer service… The lady told me that they do in fact accept coupons on top of a B1G1 deal… She said that they also accept B1G1 coupons on top of a B1G1 deal :) …..So if any cashier tries to tell you different, just call Customer service while you are in the store it took me approximately 3 minutes from the time I dialed to the time I talked to someone…

        • MomOf4Blessings

Do you happen to have the phone number handy? Thanks, Jamie!!

          • Anonymous

Here is a link to the coupon policy (someone just sent me after I asked for it on the coupon forum!) Coupon PolicyAlso, Here is the phone number I called : 1-800-748-3243Hope it helps! :)

Thanks for posting that. Now I have a question since I'm new to Rite Aid. Their policy states that “no coupon's redemption amount can ever exceed the price of the item” does that mean they will not accept the coupon or will the adjust the value of the coupon down?

              Thanks!

            • JamieB89

This just means that they will not give you “overage”.. in other words they will have to adjust the coupon down to the amount of the product

          • JamieB89

Here is the phone number 1-800-748-3243 also I posted a link to the actual coupon policy someone sent me… but it is awaiting moderation!

            • MomOf4Blessings

Great! I looked up the number already and called them, too. I wanted to hear their response with my own ears so I could tell the people at my local store what they said. The representative was very clear that they should be accepting the B1G1 coupons on B1G1 sales. I printed the corporate coupon policy to take with me. I usually don't have problems with coupons at my store, but the Covergirl coupon beeped and gave an error message, and the cashier wouldn't override it for me yesterday.

              Thanks!!

            • JamieB89

yeah… ALWAYS take your printed coupon policy with you… I learned that the hard way last Friday when I went to Target… The cashier (and the managers) told me that they could not accept a coupon on a product if the face value of the coupon was more (or greater than) the value of the product… (DUHHHHHH)… And they proceeded to tell me that they did not adjust coupons down to match the price of the product.. and also they told me they did not have a coupon policy… (duhh again??) needless to say the cashier charged me for products I did not get and I was so mad I did not realize it till I had already left….. I talked to corporate and they are going to fix the problem by training the staff on the coupon policy.. and also they are sending me a couple Target Coupons that can be used like cash on any purchase… I will always carry coupon policies with me from now on!!

            • MomOf4Blessings

I haven't had much success couponing at Target, either, so I don't usually bother with going there. I do so well at the drugstores and at Kroger/Publix, there's really no need to waste my time at the supercenters! :)

      • ireneY

I had trouble using two coupons on a BOGO sale. The cashier very nicely told me I couldn't use a coupon that rings up $0. I politely asked for the manager, who turned out to be not as nice. She repeated the same mantra about 3 times, like I'm stupid. I explained that it's not their coupon policy and I should be able to use one coupon per item, no matter how their register reflects a BOGO sale. More repetition from her, but slower and pointing. After I mentioned calling the 800 number to straighten things out, she threw her hands up and said “fine, have it your way.” Try invoking the 800 number — it seems to scare the daylight out of them to draw attention with corporate!! :)

        • Rachel

Maybe I am not getting this but if you are getting the items for free then why all the fuss? I went today and got $74.37 in Covergirl cosmetics for $5.20 (tax) sounds like the best deal going!! So what if they wouldn't take two coupons I still got the stuff for free!! It just doesn't get any better than that. And in my opinion any time that is spent on trying to get more money off of a free product is a complete waste of my time. Anyway thats just my opinion!!

          • ireneY

The product was $19.99 and my coupons were $5. I passed on the CVS sale the previous week to buy at Rite Aid. Sounds like you were able to use a BOGO Q with a BOGO item, thus the small OOP. If they applied the same rule to your transaction, you would not be paying only $5.20. You sure are flippant about other people's money!

Some registers ring both at 50%, while others ring second item at $0. Semantics.

            • Sherry

ohh…I was hoping to use these tomorrow. I sure hope it's a true BOGO and not ringing up at 50% off.

            • ireneY

Oh, sorry. It's probably always BOGO at Rite Aid. The 50% off is at Krogers and Publix. They don't have trouble taking two Qs for BOGO items, was my point.

        • kaseyelisabeth

Thank-you Irene… some people have no respect!! I do not understand why the Rite-Aid employees do not get it!!! You think they would be trained on this stuff! And then on top of that, you come to southern savers to talk about your ordeal, and you have someone bash you for trying to save money! People these days are rude! When it comes to saving money of course you are going to try to get the best possible deal with coupons or FREE items when you can!! That's why coupons are out there… for us (the consumer) from the manufacturer to USE and buy their product!! :)

          • ireneY

Thank YOU, kasey! We're all here to save money, right?!!

I was getting Nature Made sam-E for my geriatric dog, but it looks likes exactly the same scenario for Regenerist. You may have trouble using the $5/$25 since the total is $19.99 for both after the sale. I was also going to get the Almay BOGO and use the $5/$25, but imagine the scene at the register if I tried to “illegally” use two more Almay Qs!! Instead, I opted for $3/$15 and got the heck outa there! If you bring both Qs, you'll be prepared for whatever the cashier says! HTH!

    • sdavisva

      Jenny,
Is there a second SCR for the Gillette Shave Gel? My flyer says 2/28-3/6 for #3 SCR.

      • You are right, thanks for catching that!

    • Owens6

Thanks for the tip about Rite Aid and all the helpful comments. I have been overwhelmed trying to keep all my CVS'ing straight..but now that I'm learning I might try and add Rite Aid to the mix. I agree about the donating…my church has a food pantry and it was thrilling to drop off a big bag for them on Sunday. I never thought I'd have enough of anything to donate!

    • monica

How do I get PG coupons? Your site says it so many times but I can never find them in my paper or online. Help!!

      • Kristen

The PG (Proctor & Gamble) coupons come in an insert in the Sunday paper (usually the first Sunday of the month or the last Sunday of the preceding month). It's an insert that looks just like RedPlum or SmartSource, but says Proctor & Gamble.

    • Amy B.

The Almay coupon was 2/7 SS not PG! Awesome deals Jenny…. Jason and I are planning a trip now :)!

      • Amy B.

Ok, had to share. We paid $31.99 and get back $18 in rebates/giftcards. Photo of the trip here on my facebook!

    • kimbo0825

Last week, the Rite Aid wouldn't take 2 coupons for items that were B1G1. They would only take 1 coupon for the full priced item. But, the one that is ringing up “0.00” they will not take a coupon for it.

What do you see in their written policy that allows you to do this? They were quoting the line that it cannot exceed the value of the item. Since the item was already ringing up free…they would not allow cents off coupon on it. They're saying that exceeds the value of the item.

Anyone got a Columbia area Rite Aid that they like?

      • kaseyelisabeth

I always shop the one on Knox Abbott drive!! :) Really nice manager who has a mom who is an avid couponer! :)

      • colagirl

The closest one to my house is right next to Trenholm Plaza in FOrest Acres – they have been great so far. There is another one in Five Points, but I haven't tried it.

        • GGood

Run–and I mean run–from the one on Rosewood. I had an awful experience on a return on an item with a coupon at that Rite Aid. I like the one on Forest a lot. There is a great young cahsier guy who is extremely nice. I always look for him.

    • SoccerChica1

Random question can you use a Rite Aid $5 off coupon at Publix?

      • Summer

Yes, they take it at my store with no problem!

      • 3monkeysmom

Depends on your store. Mine won't take ANY drugstore coupons :-(

      • dianebenatar

It depends on the Publix; even though all 3 drugstores are within a few feet or one mile, they say they aren't competitors and will only take Kroger, target (since we have a super target close), and whole foods. Oh, well.

    • sarabrwn

i would love to do the second scenario, but i'm just not seeing how it adds up to $5.50… is there something i'm doing wrong?? or is jenny counting the rebates as part of the total? please help lol. i've never done rite aid deals before and would really like to try today! thanks!

      • kc

i too am having trouble with the math for oop.

        • kc

          • kc

    • sarabrwn

my rite aid trip was a semi-bust lol. they were out of the gillette body wash and the prep gel, and the almay wasn't b1g1, but i did get 2 packages of diapers, a lipstick, eyeshadow and deodorant for $20. my target trip was even better! spent $8 and got diapers, 2 deodorants, 2 toothpastes, 2 hair sprays, and 2 4 pks of light bulbs!

    • Anonymous

I got over $100 worth of goods for $2.49!!!!!

      Here are the details:
      http://costcuttingqueen.blogspot.com/2010/03/rite-aid-rocks.html

    • I just went to Rite Aid last night and here’s my totals:

      Spent $8.68
      Saved $169.49

I will be receiving $10 SCR and I have enough P&G purchases to qualify for the $100 coupon book.

Here’s a link to the pic on Facebook of everything that I got: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=30995919&l=def24d1b71&id=1495541805

Don't Miss out on the John Frieda as well.I bought 6 John Frieda (shampoo/conditioner) at 30.00 had (6) $3 off 1 John Frieda and a $5 off $25 Rite Aid coupon making my total $7.00 and I get back a $10 Rite Aid rebate. So I made $3 to shop. I love free stuff and I love this website.

      • dorisviall

I tried this also and they didn't honor my shampoo in the rebate. I bought 1 shampoo and two stylers They told me to fax my receipt (which I plan to do next week). I'm sure it will all work out in the end and YES, I love this website also!

    • Charissa

Does anyone know if the $30 spent on PG items (in order to receive the $10 rebate) had to be in the same transaction? And do you have to submit receipts, or will it automatically be sent, especially if in separate transactions?

      • MomOf4Blessings

They shouldn't have to be in the same transaction. The system will add the items to the rebate as you purchase them. You DO need to submit all of your receipts on the Single Check Rebates site. At the end of the March rebate period, you will request your check and gift card, and they will be mailed to you (separately).

    • jennae

I just made my first and last trip to rite aid.

      • 3monkeysmom

        Uh-Oh. That bad, huh?

        • jennae

Yes! They didn't want to take any coupons. I asked them to call customer service. The went to ask the manager about the covergirl and she said it was okay to use. The cashier told me I could never do it again. I told her that I would bring a copy of the policy in the next time. And she said very hatefully that they have a copy of it. I got home and call c-service and they said it was allowed. I called the store to talk to the manager and she said she didn't tell the cashier it was the only time I could do it. I've got my policy coming in the mail and I will go back just to prove them wrong.

          • 3monkeysmom

I'm sorry you had such a rough time on your first trip :-(
It could just be that you got an uneducated and/or rude cashier. I try to feel out the employees' schedules. I know I can't go to my local Walgreen's on Monday or Tuesday b/c that is when the rude girl works. So I try to go on Wednesday.
Maybe go on a different day and you might get a nicer employee :-)
You would think all employees would be uniform in their knowledge of the coupon policies but I think sometimes they just make stuff up. But as far as my knowledge of their policies, you absolutely CAN use BOGO coupons on BOGO sales. I did it today.
I hope you don't give up b/c they need to be corrected and b/c you can save a TON of $$$ there :-)

            • jennae

Thanks, I'm going back today to try again.

            • 3monkeysmom

              Good luck :-)

did you get Almay for BOGO which made it to one for $5 and other one free? will you get the rebate on that? or do I have to buy 2 BOGOs in order to get $5 rebate?
Thank you so much. I am just grttin into Rite Aid. Somewhat have CVS and Walgreens figured out. Thanks for your help again

    • tgbryant

Question – I plan on going to Rite-Aid tomorrow for the Covergirl B1G1 but I don't understand using the $1 off coupon in addition to the B1G1. How does that work if the store has item #1 B1G1 and you're using coupon for item #2?

Thanks and I loveeee your site, I found it a few weeks ago and you've helped saved me hundreds of dollars. I feel more organized with your list. My Walgreens cashier says I'm cheated with the “list” LOL

for the PG rebate – does it count before tax of after for the $30 needed? i got $29.70…….before tax……… ACK

      • KJEH

I was wondering the same thing…I had right at $29 before tax and just over $30 after tax. I was wondering if I was going to need to go back and buy something else to qualify.

        • Susan

It's before tax. Rebates always are.

          • Alli

thanks! i will have to run back and grab something else….. wipes are always needed with a newborn & toddler

2 – Gillette deodorant w/free bonus travel size shampoo ($4/2)
      2 – Renu Travel Kits ($1/each one)

      SCR = $10

Plus many of the items count toward the P&G coupon rebate :)

    • Holly

If you duplicate this, it should also qualify you for the proctor gamble coupon booklet!!!

    • mclawton

I just went to RiteAid to get some of these great deals. On my B1G1 for CoverGirl, he entered the $12.99 on one item and then just randomly chose another CoverGirl amount for my second one ($8.19) instead of using the other $12.99 item!! So irritating. Then on my Skittles B1G1 he entered the coupon amount as $0.11 instead of $1.10. Basically I paid for $5.79 which I should not have. Once I got to the car I saw the mistakes but there were 5 people in line……now I suppose I have to go BACK to the store to get them to correct it? Has anyone else had to deal with this, and should I go straight to a manager?

      • Susan

Only a manager can fix the problem anyway, so you might as well go straight to him/her.

        • mclawton

Thanks Susan. I have never gone to Rite Aid, so I appreciate the help! I am still sort of “green” at all of this :)

    • sharonam

How do I get the Rite Aid gift card for the P&G items? Do you submit just like you do for SCR's? Thanks, Sharon

      • Amanda

I just talked to customer service at Rite-Aid and they said no way would their computers allow me to use the B1G1 on a B1G1 sale and also use a dollar off coupon. So, how do I get around that next time because the store would not even let me try it this time.

        • Susan

Has always worked for me in the store—and it's their policy to do so.

      • MomOf4Blessings

Yes, you submit your receipts like you do for the SCRs, and the P&G $10 gift card will show up with your other rebates.

    • I shopped at Rite Aid for tne first time today. It was a really good experience. I was at Lexington and they were amazingly helpful. I will go back that store! My problem is that I cannot figure out how to register for te $10 Rite Aid car for purchasing $30 P&G items. Any ideas..

      • RebeccaFer

Hey Gayle! Welcome to our fan club for RA, lol. :D You need to log onto the RA website and enter your receipt to receive any of their rebates. It's a very easy process where you sign up and then just put in the receipt info such as store #, date, transaction # and register number. It takes a few minutes and sometimes you'll instantly see your qualifying purchases. There are other times you'll need to wait a day or two to see them pop up in your account. Once you have entered all your receipts for the month you can request your check. Just remember, you can only request your check once a month so since it sounds like you'll be going back to RA again, you may want to see what the upcoming week's deals might be. Glad you had such a positive experience! :D

    • RebeccaFer

OK, I've been in love with Rite Aid for a long time and this sale just gives me more reasons to love RA! :D I have what I feel is a very silly question, does anyone (Jenny) know if you can use two $5/$25 qs in the same transaction IF you're total is more then $25? As in, if I have a total that is $55 before qs, can I use two $5/$25 qs? I'm wondering because I have a $20 Gift of Savings Check to use and it would really rock the deal if I could use the $20 gc at one time PLUS use two $5/$25 qs. I do feel I am being a little greedy so please don't bash me but it's also one of those things that if you don't ask and then later find out you could have done it, I'd feel stupid for not asking. TIA! :D

I've used two 5/25 coupons in the same transaction when my total was over $50….doesn't beep or anything. Guess it depends on your cashier. Or you could use one 5/25 and one 5/20 video values. I've also done that a lot.

        • RebeccaFer

Thanks Susan! :D I'm going to try it! :D

I'm a newbie at making couponing a science, although I have averaged 35% off of my grocery bills for years. I have a few questions:
      1) Does any size of Pampers count towards the P&G $30? I bought the 96 pack of size 3's for $20, instead of the 36 pack for $10, but I keep only hearing about the $10 pack.
      2) Where can I sign up to receive manufacturers coupons in the mail (not email)?
      3) I noticed that most of the coupon Sites make you download aps and toolbars. Are any of them known to give you spam or spyware?

I did very well at Rite Aid today:
      96 Pampers size 3
      3 Boxes of Pampers Wipes
4 Oral-B Toothbrushes BOGO coupon and BOGO package and was on sale
Used $10.74 worth of coupons, including $5/25 Rite Aid
Saved 5% by using Discover card in drugstore (this month) & 1% for just using it
If I get the P&G rebate, my cost was under $12.50 for about $50 worth of stuff! I'm psyched!

I am trying to do the Pampers deal, but all of my Rite Aid stores are out of the newborn size. If I get a raincheck, will I also be able to get the $10 back for P&G Products?
      Thank you!

      • Susan

Never done the raincheck before, but why don't you buy the size 1 diapers? Newborn size doesn't last very long, and that way, you would for sure get your rebate. I wouldn't trust the raincheck thing for this deal.

      • Suemh

I used a raincheck to get the Dove Mens Care. When I entered it on the SCR site, it said that it di not qualify. I emailed them using their “contact us” and explained. 2 days later I got an email saying that it was being adjusted. On my status screen it now says “An Adjustment for $4.00 was requested on 03/12/10
and will be mailed within 2-3 weeks.” HTH

Ok, new to the coupon world. Went to Rite Aid yesterday in Athens, GA. I had a lot of great deals! Yeah me! Went to check out and the cashier wanted to know was I planning on using all of those coupons? I said yes, then she said I don't think I can let you use those including the $5 off $25 coupon. The younger cashier said yes you can. Anybody had this happen?

    • Teresa

Went to Rite Aid this morning and tried to use B1G1 on covergirl make-up coupon with B1G1 deal, cashier would not let me use coupon. She said that would make it free and they couldn't do that. Also, here in Albany, the Gillette deodorant rang up $9.99 as opposed to $7.29, bummer. Spent more than I wanted to but still got a pretty good deal.

      • aolss

Take in a copy of their own coupon policy which states that they can accept that.

        • Teresa

Thanks for your help, good to know. I've printed for my records for next time.

          • RushNSaver

Here in Asheville, NC the Gillette deodorant rings up at 9.99 as well

    • nancyatl

      Hey Everyone,
Somehow, I messed up! It was my first trip to RiteAid. I bought the Metamucil for 9.99 with 5SCR , but didn't “qualify”. What did I do wrong? The same thing happened with my Vicks (2SCR) purchase. I'm not really complaining b/c I got $36 worth of stuff for $8, but thought I should get $7 more back in SCR.
Just trying to improve & would love some help.
      THanks,
      Nancy

      • aolss

I had the same problem with the Vick's Dayquil but I contacted Rite-Aid this morning (there's a contact us link on the FAQ page) once you are logged into the SCR page.

      • Susan

Just call the 1-888 number on the back of the single check rebate flyer. They will fix it immediately, as they did with me yesterday.

    • amy

i read on another site that you have to buy 4 of the Almay products to get the rebate, does anyone know if this is true? They wrote that it is b/c two of them ring up for free so they don't count. I bought two, but my rebate information hasn't shown up yet in my SCR account so I don't know if this is true. I don't want to have to buy 2 more products b/c I don't have the coupons for it…thanks!

      • Susan

Not true— bought 2 the other day (one for 6.99, the other free) and the $5 rebate is already reflected in my scr account.

        • amy

Oh, thank you Susan! I appreciate the information. I just didn't want to sit and wait until my account updated and then miss out on the rebate. Thanks so much!

I just got back from our local Rite Aid. The clerk was marking down a bunch of products for tomorrow morning. I could see many different shampoo types (Sammy, Garnier Fructis, Suave and John Frieda). I also saw candy and note binders in the pile. I am not sure if this is just local or all stores are marking this stuff down. The clerk told me they would be 50% off. I am in West Virginia.

      Jenny,
I bought 2 packs of diapers (9.99, used 2 $2 off coupons), fusion gel (4.49, used $1), and 2 toothbrushes (2.74 and used BOGO coupon). my question is… how does this count to be $30.25? When RiteAid rebate system looks at the receipts does it see what price it is listed on the receipt and that is how it determines how much to give back to the individual? Thank you so much for putting detailed lists, it helps a lot :)

      • Becky

Your total is actually $29.95 because Jenny's shave gel was slightly more expensive and tax doesn't count towards the total. I'm in the same boat – $0.05 short from meeting the $30 mark. If you want to qualify for the $10 P&G gift card, you need to purchase one more qualifying item before Sunday. The rebate system gives a standard amount for each rebate based on what is shown in the ad. It doesn't matter how much you actually pay because it cannot tell which coupons you used on which items. Hope that helps!

        • elisa

The same thing happened to me! Know I'm trying to figure out the cheapest way to make it up–I don't want to lose out on the $10 gift card because of 5 cents!

          • RushNSaver

Thank you Becky and Elisa. I also have a q. There is an add saying that if you buy 2 Almay products you will get $5 back. My RiteAid has Almay listed as BOGO. if I purchase one item and get second free, do I qualify for the $5?
Thank you so much for your help.

            • Amanda

              I did…

    • HilaryA

Jenny – your gift of savings certificate was still good from Christmas? Mine expired 2-28 and they won't take it anymore. I forgot to use it. Do you know of any Rite Aids in the Columbia/Irmo/Lexington area that would take it expired?

    • pamela

      • Teresa

I had the same problem too. Check the Rite Aid coupon policy, it clearly states they have to accept it. Good Luck!

    • Sherry

I just purchased the 3 packs of pampers and 1 pack of wipes to get the $10 Rite Aid gift card. I did not receive the gift card at check out. Do I have to go online to request the gift card? thanks in advance!

      • Susan

Yes, that's how rebates work. Go to riteaid (dot) com and read all about it under “Single Check rebates.”

    • dorisviall

This is great! I'm inspired to play this coupon game even more!

    • Clementina Alvarado

I attended the workshop in Fayetteville, GA a couple weeks ago. Thanks you very much.
It was great . I am starting to get good at this. This is very good for our family, and I am also enjoying it. I even dream I am cutting up coupons, isn't that silly???? :)
      Thanks for all your work.

    • Amber

I'm confused! How can you use a B1G1 coupon and a $1 coupon for the covergirl?

    • Denise

Can anyone help me? I am trying to print the “printable” coupons for Rite Aid and am getting frustrated! How do I do that? Or is Rite Aid's website diffifult?

    • aolss

This morning, my dad brought me his coupons from this week from a different paper which had the John Frieda and Biore coupons so I made another trip to Rite Aid. With gift card and rebates, I'm now around $7+ profit. thanks for all your help Jenny!

    • Joel

Do you have to enter receipts lie a SCR for the $10 P&G product deal for the $10 RiteAid GC?

    • dianebenatar

WHEW!!!! Exhausting. I went a while ago and did 5 transactions. Bought 8 cover girl foundations, metamusil, tampax, swipers, glide, kashi, jello, 2 almay mascara, scope, crest, nyquil, and some much-needed stress and tension. BUT, I forgot a $3.00 coupon for the metamusil (can't stress, right?)

SO, value: 196.03. OOP: 14.81. Rebates: $32.50. A good day all around, right?

(Just for kicks, I went to Walgreens to get a couple more toothbrushes, listerine, and mandarin oranges. OOP around $1.50.)

      YEAH!!!!!

      • diane

Actually, I bought anti-stress and tension stuff, not the stress and tension

I'm so ticked! I followed the above senarios exactly, which I don't normally do. I was $.05 off from getting the $10 rebate…the shave gel was a little cheaper. What should I do take it all back? I really needed those cheap diapers!
