It isn’t by far the most I’ve ever saved, but the proudest I’ve ever been was my savings at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago. Wal-Mart is so much harder to get the “freebies” from that are really useful in our home but a few weeks ago I paid $4.33 for about $82 worth of groceries. The cashier had never seen anyone save so much in 1 trip with coupons before.

    • Lindsay

transfered a prescription-got 25$ gift card to CVS-
racked in on all of the ECB deals (w/ coupons too)-
walked away with a ton of free stuff &
10 ECB for next time. A really really great trip-
plus I got the best cashier ever-which makes things even better.

    • My best savings so far wasa FREE weekend getaway. We got a free night at a really nice hotel. I researched on restaurant dot com and got some great deals on meals. And we took advantage of some passes from our library for different activities around the city. It was a great mini vacation for my husband and myself and we had fun researching the deals we could get.

HI! I am new to Southern Savers and just had my best savings at Publix Last night – I did the stacking for diapers and got 2 boxes for $17 each. My total savings was $55.07 with all my coupons & savings from the Publix b1g1. So for a family of three out of pocket I spent $114.00 but that included 2 boxes of diapers & meat for the week! I am hooked!

Thank you Jenny for this site! It’s so easy and I really appreciate your help.

    • Shannon

Southern Savers helps me plan my weekly shopping trips! This week I spent $25 at Publix, but saved $40. My best trip was a few months ago, I spent $17 at Publix, but saved $65! Thanks Southern Savers!

    • christina

I made $100 by at Rite Aid by transferring 4 generic prescriptions and then I purchased diapers in which I used coupons and got rebates. I love free stuff, especially diapers!

    • Lane

My all time favorite was the Huggies Deal. I used 2 $5 off diapers and 1 $3 off wipes and spent $14.95 out of pocket, but ended up with $10 RR.

    • Kimberly

So far my best savings has been to completely stock my pantry with food that is all under a dollar and lots of free food such as cereal, etc. I came into this group back in March and have saved well over 4,000 dollars just from the deals I’ve seen on here. I often find the free stuff such as the blood meters and asprin, I get like 20 of them and bring them to the local senior center, you should have seen the faces on all those people!!! I was so excited just looking at their faces! You would have thought it was christmas for them! I love this site as it allows me to save a ton of money and help a lot of people at the same time. Thanks Jenny! I’m often asked how and where I got so much stuff, I tell them I’m a couponer and this was the free deals, I can’t use all of this so here it is… I then tell them to visit southernsavers.com and see for themselves how they can save so much more! I love this site and have actually thought of printing the website onto bus. cards so I can stop writing it for everyone! lol
Thanks again Jenny for all you do!

    • Jennifer

Too many great deals to remember, but recenly I got a Leapster for $19…I was pretty pumped about that one!

Thanks so much and congrats on 1,000,000 visitors! That’s fantastic!

    • I got $140 dollars worth of stuff yesterday for $37 bucks. Funny thing is this happens every single week now. Its hard to pick out just one. The day before….$.08 cents on body wash at CVS…..LOVE IT. Thank you for all YOU do!!!!!!!!

    • Amy

I’m new to couponing so my best savings so far actually happened this week at Publix:
Total before savings and coupons: $105.04
      Total spent: $36.91
      Total saved: $68.13 or 65%
I paid with a gift card so actually OOP was $0!! I can’t thank you enough for this site! It has saved my family hundreds of dollars in just a few months!

    • angela

I love love love your site!! The Huggies deal was my favorite. I did it twice and had some glade products thrown in there! My husband can’t beleive how much I come home with without breaking him! He is a much happier man! ha ha Last night with the Purex and Sobe deal was my next favorite. I can’t believe I got it totally free! Yeah! Thank you so much for your super hard work!

    • Rebecca

Wow Jenny, that is awesome!!! I am very new at this, so I don’t have huge stories yet because I am still building up my coupons and such, but I do save on average of $20-$40 so far on my groceries. My goal is to be like many of you on here that are saving TONS! I will say one of my best deals due to this website was the Staples paper deal!!! I had just started visiting your website right before that deal and I got 16 reams of paper. I will pay about $2 out of pocket after I get my rebates. Thank you to everyone for all of your help and deals posted!!!! Thanks for the giveaway too.

    • Lana

The most recent good deal that comes to mind is $38 worth at Bi-lo last week for $3.10. Also $152 worth at Pulix yesterday for $45. Working on rearranging my ‘pile’ so that I can better see what I have and not overbuy!

    • Jenny

My biggest savings was $78 at Publix, a few weeks ago. I think I actually paid around $32?

I do also love working CVS, I have a year to date savings of $212 there!

Thanks for all you do and this wonderful site!

    • Catrina

I’m pretty new to couponing but I think my favorite deal so far was the 3 packs of Huggies Diapers from Walgreens for 5 dollars just a few weeks ago. I am due with my 3rd child today so they will come in real handy!

    • Laura

I am only 6 weeks into couponing (pretty new) still learning. Last week at publix I purchased 150.00 in groceries for only 16.50. My husband is so amazed that he is telling all the guys at work. His bosses wife has actually started couponing! This is the best site!!! My pantry is full and my cat has enough cat food for a year =) Thanks

    • Amy B.

      Last week I did Bi-Lo, spent $10.78, saved $126!!!!!!!

    • Heidi

I can’t think of one specific savings trips but rather just lots of amazing deals I’ve gotten, especially at Publix, since learning about your site a few months ago. I always loved shopping at Publix but cut back when I quit my job to stay home with our baby last summer. I thought I would do better just shopping at Aldi and WalMart, but I was SO wrong!!! Now I hardly go to WalMart!! So, a HUGE thank you, Jenny!!

    • Kabba

There have been so many wonderful shopping trips I dont know if I can pick one? Your site has been a blessing to me and my family and we truly thank you! I never thought that tightening my budget even more than we already had would actually allow me to get more groceries to take care of my family but it is quite the norm now to buy over $100 worth of groceries and end up paying about $25-$30! Your site is a blessing and I am sure to tell everyone about it!! Keep doing what you do, God bless you and your family!

    • kristen

I got my husband into helping me coupon and since his work cut his salary and hours he has Friday off now. That comes in handy for Bloom triple coupons. I am out of town with no Bloom near me so he said he would go at 6am by himself. He has his own binder so I loaded the coupons before I left…kept it light for his first solo trip. He e-mailed me at 7:30am to tell me he got $74.44 worth for $17.75 for a 76% savings. Not our biggest savings but I was so proud of him…now he can go golfing this afternoon.

    • Lynn

Gosh, too many to list! This week my total bill at Publix was $160 and i walked away paying $75. Got to love SouthernSavers, my kids and my husband are getting into now! Thanks for all you do Jenny and congrats on the milestone!

    • Miao

My biggest saving was $89 when I spent about $120 at publix. Your blog has helped me save so much money. Thank you so much!

    • lori

My best savings (at least that i can remember) was going from like 14 dollars to a total of 1.82 out of pocket in groceries at publix. I mean it was great to save, but the real prize was the cashier’s shock that my total was so low!

    • Megan Martin

Congrats on 1,000,000 visitors! My best shopping trip was at Rite Aid when I combined coupons with my gift of savings certificate and they paid me for purchasing a buggy full of stuff. It’s the only time I have been given money for shopping at a store. I love your site. Keep up the great work :)

    • Melanie

I love your site and keep up with it daily. My problem is finding out about so many deals that I get overwhelmed and feel like I have to act on them all, and that is impractical and impossible. If someone has advice for me, I need it!
As for deals, I used Jenny’s info to get loads of free stuff at Bi Lo last week. I spent a little over $6 and got about 15 items or so including sugar and feta cheese!
I am signed up to get the free wet vac from Proctor Gamble.
I am working on the free ham deal.
And… I have received 2 free full size tote bags from CVS/Glamour magazine that were full of full size products.

    • Deanna

I don’t know if it was my best savings yet but I get those “Free panty and $10 off your purchase” from Victoria’s Secret and I always thought it was like $10 dollars of a purchase of $50 or more or something but it’s off any purchase! So I went and got a panty($7.50) and a beauty rush glimmer swirl($12) and I only paid $2! Awesome :)

    • Jocy

      hello Jenny,
i am a new visitor, started about 2 months ago so maybe I’m the 1Mth visitor :). My first purchase ever just after I visited your site (that motivated me to continue) consisted of 2 boxes of cereals, a bottle of salsa and a box gelatin for 89 cents.
Very much thankful for your hard work!

    • Yesterday, I saved 100% on Vitamin Water 10 at BiLo! Pretty good, right? I also spent ~$17 on ~$100 at Publix last week. Getting better and better!

    • I’ve joined the Fans of Southern Savers on Facebook.

    • Hollis

No kidding- every time I check out at my little local Food Lion, the cashiers are so impressed. I never have one of those “save 80% off the total bill” trips (unless I triple at Harris Teeter), but I always save at least 40% or more. Last week Clarence the cashier told me he was definitely going to start couponing when he saw my total plummet. Thanks for saving me money so that I can buy pretty clothes and garden guilt-free.

    • I feel like I’m still “new” to the deals and grocery game. But one shopping trip that I remember being really excited about was getting a little over $100 worth of groceries for $45! That one made my husband smile! :D

    • Anita

I have only been couponing for a few months now. This is my most recent trip to CVS. Yesterday I purchased the following:
-8 pack of Irish Springs bar soap
      -40 oz. Softsoap refill
-2 bars of Sure solid deoderant
From the ECB’s I had last week I only spent $0.02…..my best savings yet. I was absolutely estatic!! This site has been wonderful for me.
Thanks for all the work you put into helping us save money!

    • Julieann

I think the Purex detergent for free is the best yet. I have 10 bottles already!

    • I twittered you (thompsonmarine)

    • Wendy

My great deal this week was $40.16 worth of groceries for $7.08. I have been following your program since the beginning of March and increased my overall savings from 14.37% in February (when I thought I was doing so great using my coupons!) to 60.9% in March. It should be even better this month!

Thank you for all of your hard work on this site. You are helping so many people.

    • Abby

Still a bit new to the ‘game’ here but I’ve had many great successes at Target, CVS & several grocery stores in my area. Your Publix posts make me wish SO badly that I had that store here in VA!

      Thanks for all you do!

    • Rebekah

I chased a great deal yesterday. I got 2 bottles of purex laundry detergent and 2 bottles of sobe water at CVS for .92. I paid nothing but sales tax!

    • gini

I think my best deal has to have been the huggies @ WAGS! But what made it such a good deal was not just the price, the service made that even sweeter. I believe the deal was to buy $25 in Huggies diapers and/or wipes to get $10 RR. Well, I had (2) $5 q’s for the Huggies, but they were out of the ones on sale, and it was the last couple of hours of that particular deal. The manager let me get a different kind of diapers! Then I had a q for the wipes, too, but they were out of those as well. He just grabbed up some wipes that they did have and cheerfully led me up to the register to check me out! I also had a store coupon for something like $5 off…I ended up paying around $7 for 2 packs of diapers and a huge package of wipes, and got my $10 RR. I really like that Walgreens!

    • Sharlene

I have only been doing this for 6 weeks, and I already have saved sooo much. I usually save at least twice what I spend at Publix!!!! Thanks sooooo much! I usually tell at least 1 person about southernsavers.com while I am shopping!!

    • Jennifer

My best deals have been this week (since finding your site). On Tuesday I went to Publix and bought a TON of stuff just using the printable coupons that you link to. I spent around $13.00 and saved almost $37.00. Then yesterday I went to CVS and spent $1.96 for FOUR bottles of the same detergent that I alway use.

      Woo hoo!

    • My best savings yet was 70 dollars worth of stuff for $1.32!

    • Tina

Last week between my visit to Publix and my visit to Bilo, I spent $50 and saved $60. That’s a savings of more than 50%. I have never shopped like this before and I’ve having such a great time saving money!!!

    • diane

My recent favorite savings has to be the staples paper deal. We have five kids and all in school so the paper savings was great especially now that the school system is asking us to print assignments off their website.(where are our taxes going????) My 6 grader came home yesterday and told me she saw her gym teacher (male) with his coupon folder out while they were running laps- “just like yours” !!! love your site and tell everyone about it thanks.

    • I’m fairly new to couponing, and the most I’ve saved so far is $16 off of a $50 total. That was before finding this site! I’m shopping today, and can’t wait to see how well I do! I’m also hitting up CVS…

    • Christen

I just recently started following your instructions for grocery shopping but so far I have easily saved 50% off my grocery bill and my best was spending $86 at Publix and saving $123!! it was amazing.

    • My favorite trip to Pubix had to be:
Total Before Coupons / Savings $108.94
      My Savings at Publix $106.95
      Out of Pocket Spent $1.99
      I saved 98%

      Thanks for the great giveaways!

    • shanna

I love your site. Thank you for your time to keep it updated. My biggest savings was $60 at Harris Teeter once. I was so excited because I’d only spent $20. Stocking up on their Buy2Get3 deals is great!

    • heather

Congratulations on the Million!!! I feel like I alone have to be about half of those, because I am a Southern Savers Addict!! I started my own blog, for about a week and gave up.. I just can’t do it as good as you!! Anyways, my best savings ever believe it or not would definitly have to be KMART Doubles!! I got over $190 dollars of stuff and after all of my coupons and discounts I spent $37.50!!

    • Heather

Love the site, recently got $120 at Bi-lo for $49, thanks!

    • Britton

I am new to this whole idea of saving LOTs of money while doing something that has to be done..buying groceries! So, I went to Publix this week and I was so excited. My bill was $35 and I SAVED $34!! I was amazed. Since then, I’ve started the CVS ECB system and LOVE IT!! thank you so much for helping me!

    • Julie

I’m still learning this coupon thing but your site has made it both addictive AND fun! In just my first 2-3 shopping trips to Kroger I’ve saved anywhere from 40%-60% on my tabs (I think best so far was $98 of groceries for only $40). On my last trip I handed the cashier my coupons and he rolled his eyes a bit… then said, “WHOA… that DID help!” after they knocked another $30 off my bill. Thank you!

    • Shannon in ATL

My best deal is when I got my 11 year old UNDER ARMOUR cleats (over $125 retail) for $4 after coupons at Dicks Sporting Goods….even impressed the kid and that’s not easy to do!

    • Laveta

I love Southern Savers! Every time I shop it’s like a game that I’m winning. I thought it would take to much time to make a plan each week but you make it so easy. Thank you!

    • Alisha

My best deal so far was saving $90 at Publix!!

    • Angela

Loved the huggies deal!! Also, just recently saved $97.97 @ Publix w/ coupons and in store deals. Thank you so much for your contributions!!

    • Cassie J.

I’m pretty new at this so I don’t have really big deals like the othes listed but I’m determined to get better. I check the deals daily and am persistent! Thanks for a great site.

    • Melissa

Oh I could definitely use an Amazon GC to buy books for school! I am new to saving so I think my best right now is CVS, I have about $200 worth of merchandise and my oop is around $25ish but I still have $19.97 in ecb! I think I have done really well!

    • Annie

Jenny! Thank-you so much for all the hard work and time you put into your site! My family and I are so grateful to you for helping us save money! One of my best shopping trips was at Publix where I bought $176 worth of groceries and paid only $66!!!! WOW!!! I saved over $110!!!! Thank-you!!

    • My best deals have been all the FREE stuff I get at Wal-mart, Publix and Kroger. I love when I go to Wal-mart and pay only taxes!

    • Stacy

Congratulations, Jenny! What a wonderful accomplishment! My best shopping savings was at Publix where I saved over $100. I had used so many coupons that they had to bring over a CSR to enter the difference. I walked out spending less than $20. I was so excited!

    • Kathleen

Just tweeted to follow you! (@ItsMeKathleen) 2 Million here you come!

    • I just shopped at Bloom (triple coupons) and spent $2.97 for $94.40 worth of groceries. Thank you Southern Savers.

    • So far, I have collected $125 in CVS giftcards from prescriptions filled using Rite Aid coupons. And thanks to your CVS scenarios each week, I’ve gotten major bang for my free giftcards! Your website is awesome and congrats on your millionth visitor!

    • sarah

MY best trip was at Krogere just this week. Walked out with $50 worth of groceries and they actually PAID me $2.50 to talke them home! Gotta love it!

      Thanks for the site!

    • Christy G

I have had a lot of savings opportunities this year but my most recent was spending $20 at Publix after saving $60 from coupons and advantage buys. I love this website. Thanks to everyone who has helped collect this information.

    • laura y

Many of my best deals come from Publix! Combining a $1.50 coupon with a $1.99 clearance price on my all-time favorite lotion Dove Cream Oil :). In addition to the 60% on average that I save on groceries at Publix every week!! It IS hard to pick out just one thing… because I get so much great savings info every day from this site!! Thanks for all that you do and congrats :)!

    • samantha

Best savings yet, has to be my loot from publix every week and CVS. Your site has helped me stockpile for my family and friends. Thanks.

    • Amanda

So many great deals, but boxes and boxes of free Electrosol tabs @ Kroger. I haven’t had to buy dishwasher tabs in over a year and a half!

    • Alicia

I haven’t been doing this long but it has become an obsession, I dream about it :-) Best deals to date, have been at CVS. I have saved hundreds in just two month of following your website. I LOVE have a stockpile of stuff.

    • Jamey

This probably wasn’t my biggest savings…but my favorite because I was just learning how to “roll” deals. I was able to walk out of CVS with a shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, 6 pk of raisins, 2 pkg of fruit cups for my son, and a Sunday paper for 50 CENTS!! It was so funny because I usually pay with a credit card but I happily fished out the two quarters from the bottom of my purse for that one!

Thanks Jenny you are the best! :)

    • Beth

My best saving yet was at Harris Teeter during triples week. I made three trips into the store (in one visit). When all was said and done, I had gotten $468 worth of groceries and spent only $1.62 OOP!My husband was so impressed and curious as to how I managed to do it that he has now begun studying your site and has even gone shopping with me!!! Thanks for all of your hard work! I don’t know how you have the time to put all of this together with small children. Kudos to you!!

    • erin

      Congrats on the 1,000,000 visitors!

Walgreens trip. Total bill $168.50 paid $6.50 plus I’m sure I got RRs worth more than $7 with the transaction.

    • My best was at Publix.

      Total OOP: $3.41
      Total Saved: $73.97

    • Kathy

My best savings was by far at CVS. I make gift baskets for baby gifts, and I was able to get a jumbo pack of Huggies, the mega pack of Huggies wipes, five Johnson’s baby products, and Beaudreux’s Baby Butt Smoothing Cream for $5.00 using the coupons, ECBs and just paying attention to the sales flyers!

    • Anna S.

Probably my best savings so far is a grocery trip where I totally stocked up: $70 worth of groceries for $12.57! That’s 82% off! I’m single with no kids, so for me that’s about a month’s worth of stuff for less than my friends spend on one lunch.

Gratz on your 1M viewer, by the way! I know for me it’s been amazing to find a site so tailored to Columbia, where I live.

    • Kim

Can’t say that I’ve matched any of the above, but I was thrilled last week when I paid $94 and save $110. Of course I would have been lower if I hadn’t have quite of few non coupon items in the buggy. But I was thrilled and there were quite a few people behind me asking questions!!!

    • Adrienne

CONGRATULATIONS on the 1,000,000 visitor! I haven’t been couponing long, and I’m still figuring out some of the basics, but I did get at least $26 worth of stuff at CVS for $8 yesterday, got back $14 in ECBs and plan to go back today to get another load of free stuff! I’ve never spent that much OOP before, but I need a few items that aren’t on sale (and never seem to go on sale) so I’m going to spend .48 today and carry over $6.99 in ECBs. I’m so excited!

Thank goodness I got to your site!

    • Tabetha

      Spent: $23.00
      Saved:$72.00
At Bi-Lo…plus I came home with some awesome steaks…my husband was totally hooked.

    • Sandra

I just got 4 bottles of Purex detergent for FREE yesterday at CVS. I also got 2 boxes of Raisin Bran cereal for $1 box.

    • TinaP

Thanks to your site, I save every week at CVS and Publix. I don’t shop without checking your site first. My best savings is always at CVS buying items for just pennies. I also walked out of Publix spending $36.25 and saving $86.88!! I saved more than I spent! I had the woman behind me follow me to my car and ask “how did you do that”?

    • Lisa

My best savings so far was a trip to Publix 3 weeks ago. I purchase $50 worth of groceries and my final bill after coupons was $1.12 – Thanks to great coupons from this site and my DH picking me up 5 papers every week.

    • Beth

CVS– eighty something Huggies diapers for $10 :) GREAT deal!

    • Trisha

at publix a few weeks ago I was able to walk out with $140 worth of groceries for under $50! The cashier was so excited for me – it felt great to save the money that God has blessed us with! I wouldn’t be able to do much of that without the help of your blog! Thank you soooo very much!

    • Ram

I have been saving a lot at CVS & Rite Aid ever since I chanced upon your blog… Hard to remember which way was the best… Once I bought $30 worth of personal care items, bill was around $20, used coupons to bring it to $5 and paid with ECB and got back $20 in ECB !

    • Emily

My best was diapers at CVS a few weeks ago – 2 Jumbor packs of diapers and 1 jumbo pack of wipes. I paid $7 out of pocket and got back $10 in ECB.
I am so hooked on this site and saving – I can now call my shopping and saving a hobby!!
Thanks, Jenny, for everything you do!!

    • Kimberly

I’m just proud that since I’ve been doing coupons in January, I’ve cut down our grocery consistently over $200 a month! Hopeing for more… it will come~

    • Kimberly

      joined facebook group!

    • Kim

One time at Walmart I saved 87%. I was buying a lot of the Let’s Grow baby food with the dollar coupons. I know that every item I had in my cart I had a coupon for.

    • Patricia

My best was last year at Wal-Mart. I mainly had FREE coupons and some that gave some overage. I grabbed a filler and most of the coupon overage absorbed the cost of that and i believe my total was 2c (definitely under 5c).

I was pleased and the cashier was amazed!

    • Kimberly
    • One time at Kroger I save 102% – they paid part of the tax! I purchased $115 before sales/coupons for $1.12. It was great!

    • Angela P

I’m new to couponing, and my 1st few weeks were a little hard (less so thanks to a friend). Since finding your site (thanks again to my friend), it has been sooooo much easier. Thanks for all the hard work you put in, so I can focus on saving. Even though we have a small income, thanks to you & the Qs, I can be a full time Mom to my 6 month old!!! Talk about a dream come true! Oh and OMG!!! Who knew saving could be so much fun & addicting?!? I’ve never had so much cereal & toothpaste before! LOL

Best trips have been: CVS – $90 FREE & SHAWS (our grocery store) $180 for only $19.23!

    • shae

My favorite deal that I can’t help but tell everyone about was getting 6 2L cokes 6 boxes of wheat thins and a gallon of milk for a whopping $3.42!!!! Thanks to your site I save at least 65% everytime I shop at publix!

    • Christine

By far the best saving has been moving to America from Australia where we do not have coupons or rebates of any kind. Can you believe that??????
We go home at the end of next year (my husband is a military officer on exchange) and I will be devastated without my weekly fixes of CVS, Walgreens, Publix and Target!!!!!

    • Joe

I think our best so far was getting $117 from Bi-Lo for about $16. I just started doing this with my wife a month ago and have run out of space in our pantry and had to start storing food in our kitchen cabinets. We’ve bragged to family and friends and have gotten most of our siblings to start couponing off of this website, as well as a full class of people at my wifes church. I think i’m one of the only men on here that I can see, but I love saving money, and it’s exciting to see how much you can save.

    • Mrs. Morgan

Congrats on your milestone! All I can remember this week @ Publix I spent $13.46 for $48.92 worth of loot. I can not thank you enough for having this site!

    • Melanie

My best deal was at Walgreens last week. 4 Skintimate shave gels, 4 packs of scrunci pony tail holders, 4 packs of Fiber One, 4 toothbrushes, 5 packs of M&M’s, 2 water bottles, and 6 bottles (25 tablets each) of ibuprofen. I paid a little over $9 for it on my Walgreens gift card. Nothing out of pocket!!

Congratulations on 1M! I am sure there are many more milestones to come!

    • Destiny

My best savings was a 20-pack of Duracell AA batteries, a 9-pack of TP, and a bottle of dish detergent, for $.11!!
I love Southern Savers! Congrats on 1,000,000 visitors!!

    • Julia

I started using coupons a couple of months ago. I love how much money I save and so does my husband. It makes it easier living on one income and allows me to stay home with my little guy. Thanks for all you do!

    • carole

my best savings was when Wags had the Huggies deal a few weeks ago. I saved over $95 dollars and used my rebate gift card to pay for the $6 OOP :-)
thanks for the giveaway; i really rely on your site! Thanks for all your hard work!! 1,000,000 is awesome!

    • Went to bloom today for triple coupon day. My total was 47.20 and spent 49 cents. Best deal yet, thanks to your website.

    • Beth C

My best savings is all the freebies I rec’d by using coupons with the sales lists obtained from Southern Savers and all the freebie links and messages that you post. Thanks Southern Savers – glad to be one of the million!

    • Rachel

I went to Publix about a month. I bought $153 worth of stuff and only spent $52! Thanks for all you do! You have helped me save so much money!!

    • Brandy

Congratulations! My last trip to Publix I saved $99.99 and spent $75. But my best trip, was the week Walgreens had the Huggies and Glade deals. $97 worth of stuff for $3.13. I did the deal twice. The best thing about southernsavers for me is having so much and being able to pass some of it on to those in need. So, a BIG thank you to Jenny and all of the people who post with their own deals and coupon info.

    • Rachel

I got 200 worth of groceries for 25 and it was my 3rd time couponing!! Thank you so much!!

    • Kim

      Spent: $3.95
      Saved: $72.83

It was my very first trip to Publix with coupons. From that point on I was hooked.

    • Michelle

My best savings so far: last Sunday at CVS I bought about $117 worth of products for about 50 cents out of pocket (after I receive the $10 Natural Dentist rebate back). Thanks SO much, Southern Savers!!

    • Hallie

Seems I’ve had a variety of “best deals” thanks to Southern Savers. Most trips to drug stores are deals – I never went before! Also, the paper deal at Staples was phenomenal, as were postings last fall for baby gear from Kohl’s that was a steal. Thanks so much for all you do, Jenny. My hubby has EPSN.com and I have Southernsavers.com. :-)

    • Michaelene

I’ve been couponing for 2 months now and have told everyone I have met about your site. Your work compiling the lists makes it possible for me to do this. I don’t have the time otherwise to do all that brainwork. The funniest experience was in a grocery line where I started chatting with one lady about it and the next thing I knew I had a small crowd of men & women around me all asking me to spell the name of your site “one more time”. It was hilarious. My biggest savings so far was at Publix where I saved $75.43 and only spent $23.34. Woohoo!

    • Cynthia Beers

I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate your site! Yesterday I was able to get 4 bottles of Purex detergent for .98 cents(tax) at CVS!!! Your site has saved my family so much money. Thanks for all you do!

    • Martha

By following your website I have saved a lot. One of the best deals was at Publix, when I paid 7 cents for more of $40 worth of groceries. Thanks

    • Amy

I started doing coupons this year. I’m mad at myself for not starting sooner. My best trip to Publix was saving $107.49 and only spending $37.91!! The second was going to CVS and saving $38 and only spending $1!! Now my whole family is couponing and going to southernsavers. Thanks for all your hard work!!

    • Gabby

I used to shop only Wal-Mart because I thought they had the lowest prices. Most of the time they do — IF you don’t use coupons. But if you have a store that doubles and triples coupons nearby, then that’s better and I’ve been shopping at Kroger almost constantly now, with my coupons. I can’t remember my totals, but so far my biggest grocery savings has been about 62%. However, I have also done the CVS thing, and so far, my running percentage saved is 93%. I love all the “free stuff I can get (from Vitamin Water, to milk, to makeup, etc.) just by using coupons. I wish I had known about this so long ago. Not only is my grocery bill a lot smaller each week (I’m trying to only spend about $50, down from $100) but I actually have food left over at the end of the week as part of my stockpile (where before the pantry and fridge would be empty and there’d be nothing to eat).

    • Thank you for all that you do!! Just the other day at Publix I got $91.48 worth of groceries for $32.07…I’m getting better every week! :)

    • tracy

My favorite save so far was the Kraft singles deal at Kroger. We have a new Publix nearby that isn’t too busy yet, so I was able to get ten of the .75 blinkie coupons for Kraft. Before I went to Kroger I checked Southern Savers and saw several comments about Kroger scanning those Kraft coupons and giving customers the total amount off. I was so excited, but sure it wouldn’t work for me. When the cashier started scanning those coupons and I saw that I was getting ten packages of Kraft singles free — my husband eats a pack a week; it’s ridiculous — I was elated. Thanks for all that you do, Southern Savers!

    • Oh even better! When the Walgreens huggies deal was going on I spent only $47 and got over $300 worth of provisions!! :)

    • Michelle

I just want to say that this is one of the most helpful Web sites I have ever come across. While we have huge savings from being able to shop at a commissary (as my husband is retired military), we do “coupon shopping” at Publix every week thanks to this wonderful site! I can’t remember my “best” deal, but on average I save somewhere between $30 and $50 a week. My husband is even excited about the savings and will often volunteer to stop by Publix if I have some coupons that need to be used…or a sale is ending. We have a newborn and these savings are helping me to be a stay at home mom after working for the past 23 years. Thank you so much!

    • I check your site every Sunday morning and get going on my game plan. It’s so exciting to know what I can save before I go. I transferred 3 prescriptions at Rite-Aid this week and got $75.00 worth in gift cards. Did a lot of the sales and rebates. I got $52.82 worth of items for $27.60 including rebates. Only spent $15.00 OOP for copays and still have $40 left on gift cards and $7 coming back in rebates. Not as good as some of you, but getting there:)

    • Dahnelle

I don’t know what my best deal of all time is, but I was pretty excited abut this week at Publix- I spent $29 and saved $71, and that included all of the produce I got! This site is PHENOMENAL, thanks so much!

    • Shannon

I am new to Southern Savers so I am still learning, but my favorite shopping trip so far was last week. I went to Publix and cut my grocery bill in half. I saved $54.30 and spent $54.55. I was so excited and can’t wait to keep getting better and better at this. This is fantastic!! Thanks for all you do Jenny!

    • Christine

Congrats on reaching a great milestone. I love your help with savings.

I’m new to CVS trips and I came out with a bag full of stuff for 15 cents the other week! :)

    • Natasha C

      Congratulations!!

I recently discovered your site a few weeks ago and have used it everyday since! I have gotten a ton of free things and tons of coupons. My best savings was 3 weeks ago I was in walmart, shopped for $144 worth of groceries but only paid $67! Thats thanks to tons of coupons and rebates! Thank you for helping out so many people like me :)

    • Jenny (also)

I am fairly new to this…only found your site in March, but I would have to say last week at CVS was the best I have had so far. I started the week with:
      3 packs of Huggies
      1 hairgel(just needed it)
      2 easter grass

and only paid 6.11 OOP. I then ended the week by doubling up both weeks deals and getting:
      2 Schick intuition
      2 dawn ultra
      3 Olay quench lotion
      1 Olay body wash
      3 similac formula’s
      1 axe deodorant
      1 bath sponge
2 cadbury eggs (needed a filler and LOVE these)

and paid $12.53 total OOP with $14.99 ECB rolling over.

So, I was very pleased. I’m sure I will be able to do better in the future as I get stocked up on ECB and Coupons, but I was pretty proud of myself to walk into the house with all of those bags and not have broken the bank!

Thank you so much for all thay you do! You are appreciated more than you will ever know…this has changed my family for the better!

    • Shannon N.

My best was at Publix. I had $.11 OOP and my savings was $179.XX WOOT! It was a lot of BOGO offers and Free baby club stuff.. but man was I proud of myself!!

    • Jenn

My best savings was probably TWO FREE Bayer Contour blood glucose meter for my hubby. It’s the best meter out there, and we’re thrilled to have two more in case something happens to the one he uses.

    • Tracie

Jenny – I don’t know my best trip – but I am at 52% savings household and food Mid January to date. I am so happy! And the best part is I have been able to help out some friends do this too! I am very thankful for you and am overjoyed with your success! It is very well deserved! Tracie

    • Brandi

I am so addicted to SS that it’s the first thing I pull up in the morning. I check it all throughout the day for the latest deals from Jenny and other readers. I’m Brandi…and I’m a habitual saver…LOL
I never have more than $30 a week to feed my family of 5, so this site helps me stockpile the free items and cheap items in order to be able to support my family. Jenny has been a godsend and so have her readers! Thank you all.

    • bethany

There was one week I saved almost 90% at Kroger – I wish every week was like that :)

    • Sasha

Oh girl–my best week at Publix this week. Spent $65, saved $70.
However, my favorite cashier has abandoned me and I was shot down by “James” in Lexington. Be mindful of Mr. J!
      ;)
Thanks, Jenny. You save our family over $200 a month.

    • Sarah Elyce

My best savings trips are when I spend very little out of pocket and get a large payout on catalinas or mail in rebates. For example, at Shopper’s last doubles event I got 16 boxes of cereal for $1.93 and then received $20 in catalinas.

      eyedealdisorder@comcast.net

    • lucky

i love your site i dont go shopping without checking your site first the most i saved was on the huggies diapers when they released the high value coupons i found on your site.

thanks a lot keep up the good work

    • Adrianne

My best deal was my run to CVS yesterday (I posted the full details under the free purex post). I got 4 Purex detergent bottles, 4 Sobe Lifewaters, Mini Freshmatic, a bottle of Softsoap body scrub, 2 Colgate toothpastes, and Pantene Shampoo, Conditioner and a Styler for a grand total of $4.31 out of pocket and another $10.99 ECBs for my next purchase.
Over $71.00 in savings! I couldn’t do this without your site. Thank you so much!

    • Adrianne

Sasha – I’m in Lexington, SC too. If you can go to the Publix on the corner of Gervais and Huger. They’re super nice over there!

    • This is not my best savings in absolute value but it is awesome to my family because we go through a lot of (organic) milk every week, and at prices double those of regular milk, it adds up! I stocked up on organic Horizon milk at Publix last week – combining the sale, printable, and Publix Q got me over 53% savings! Congrats on your accomplishment!

    • Joined on Facebook

    • My best savings experience had to be a Target trip…

      Total OOP: $4.77
      Total Saved: $61.90

That was such a great day :-) Congrats on the 1,000,000 visitors! That’s awesome!

    • Jennifer

You have helped me save alot of money! Thanks so much!

    • Griet Atkins

I”m new to SS, but last week I stocked up on cereal from Food Lion, around 65 cent a box. Also, got my favorite veggie Steamers for free (plus 10 cent credit per bag). I love it. Thanks so much!!!

    • Christine

Best savings was getting both Purex detergents for FREE yesterday!! I also saved $43 at Publix this week and only spend $23!

    • amy sanders

best savings so far…probably the huggies deal. i did it 4 times and used the man. coupons at publix!!! so, it was probably $3 or so for 3 packs!

than ks for all your hard work!

    • Shawna Callaghan

Transferred a prescription to Randalls, got 30 gift card, had $10 ChillOut coupon from previous week’s grocery run, did the ChillOut promotion again, using coupons for all the Healthy Choice Entrees I bought and combined this with all the 10/10 promotion and ALSO used an Entertainment Guide Coupon. So, got $80 worth of groceries for $11 and still got another Chill Out $10 coupon back for my next purchase. Your site makes our lives easier so we don’t have to search for the deals every day.

    • Sasha

My best deal was buying $200 worth of products at Walgreens for less than a dollar!

    • My best savings was for diapers during Walgreen’s Huggies deal using those awesome high dollar coupons. I bought over $100 worth of diapers for $15.

    • Roberta

Congrats on the million mark; surely there are at least as many happy thank-you’s to go with it. While it is hard to pick one best deal, I am very pleased to see my savings percentage rise very consistently. Between bogo items and coupons, the extra pantry staples I am passing on to my daughter who is in grad school and working with a very limited budget. It always makes me happy to have a full pantry as well. Many thanks from me for all that you do on this site.

    • Tonya

At the last K-Mart super doubles, I paid $23 for over $250 worth of products. I was so proud. I even took a picture of all the loot and receipt and sent it to a couple of friends.

    • Sara

I think my best trip was 3 separate transactions at Publix each for $25 before coupons (using the Rite-Aid $5/$25) that I paid around $5 total for, so probably over $100 worth of stuff for $5!

    • Tabitha

Went to Bi-lo this week. I spent $42.19. Total before coupons was $102.91…so I saved $60.72. My total savings this year at Bi-lo is almost $400 and I have only been 3 or 4 times!!! It may not be my greatest week I’ve had, but a really good one. Before my sister in law got me into Southern Savers I dreaded going to the grocery store because I knew it would take almost all of our extra money for the week just to buy a few groceries. Now I actually look forward to going. Southern Savers makes the grocery trips more exciting!!! It’s so fun to see how many groceries you can get for such a low price!!!

    • Kelly

This is my first week using all the “weapons” at my disposal on your fantastic website. I am averaging a savings of 60% at the 4 stores I have gone to this week. My best deal was at RiteAid last night: I purchased 18 items, 14 of which I got for FREE! I saved $19.75 and my total spent was $4.57 before tax, making each item, including the 50ct Tylenol on sale this week, $0.30, YESSS…thirty cents each! Thank you Jenny, you have empowered me!!!!

    • Wonderful Jenny… CONGRATS ! You deserve this success…I BLOGGED about your milestone giveaway too !

HERE one of my best deals:
      Walgreens: Retail: $300.76, Coupons/Rebate Gift Card/RR’s Used: $244.98, OOP: $25.63 !

LOL and Good luck to everyone…I have quite a long wish list at AMAZON so it would be nice to win. Thanks for the chance Jenny !

    • My best savings so far has been about 70% off my total bill at Kroger. Sorry, I don’t recall the exact details! I have limited myself to a $100 budget per week for everything: food, household, clothes and 2 kids in diapers! So, far I have managed to stay under!

    • Teia

I am turning two $25 gift cards into serious savings at Rite Aid. So far I have not spent any OOP and have made a few dollars and gotten lots of useful stuff.

BTW, best saving sit eon the web. I love it!!!

    • Cheri

I’m still new to all of this, but last week I “bought” $36 worth of items from CVS for $.30!

    • I became a fan on facebook!

    • Congrats Jenny and thanks for this giveaway to celebrate !
I BLOGGED about your giveaway and here are two of my best deals:
      Walgreens: Retail:$300.76, Coupons Used : $244.98 ( Rebate Gift Card, Manu Q’s and RR’s ) Total OOP: $25.63
      CVS: Retail:$30.72, ECB’s:$30.72 ( paid tax too ! )Total OOP: $0

    • Stephanie

The Walgreen’s diaper deals are by biggest so far! I did that deal three or four times. Thanks to Southern Savers, I have become a coupon junkie. It’s so much fun!!!

    • joy

Joined the facebook page. Thanks for such a great site!

    • Pete

With this site making it so easy to coordinate offers, All the free or close to free items are great. Love it when I can get down to below $1 per item, even when buying milk and eggs etc. included. – THanks

    • Teresa Farris

My best savings so far (and I am fairly new to your website) was at Bilo. I spent 30.03 but saved 49.48!I am so thankful for your site and all that you do. You are helping so many families out during a hard time with the economy. This savings each week really helps us out. Thank you! (Total to date i have spent 129.43 and saved 169.88!)

    • Becky

I think the best thing so far was seeing the reaction on my husband’s face when I told him I spent $32 for $85 worth of groceries at Publix. Just started using coupons again after about 10 years! My cousin got me started on them again and for the life of me can’t figure out why I ever stopped!!

    • Ronda

Free Toliet Paper. I wait for it to go on sale then I buy the smallest size I can and it’s almost always free. My hubby thinks I’m crazy but I get excited about Tp.
Do you save more at Kroger or Publix. I have both and only use Kroger. Publix’s here has alot of stuck up people working there.

    • Lisa

I can’t remember my exact best savings story.. But I was so excited the month I did up my budget actuals and I had only spent $40 on groceries!! I’m single with not kids (unless doggies count), but I remember times in my pre-coupon days I would spend $40-$50 a week on groceries!

    • I enjoyed getting free toothpaste last week at Walgreens. Just wanted to let everyone know my Walgreens is selling out many toys ($15 value) for $2 a piece. May want to check it out.

    • I recently bought $50 worth of toiletry items, candy and food from Rite Aid for 36 cents. I used a slew of coupons, purchased only sale items and used the $20 Gift of Savings coupon I received in January. This is by far the best I’ve ever done at the drug store game!

    • Lynn McDonnell

My best so far was at Bi-Lo, because when I go there I only buy the B1G1’s. When I shop at Publix, I get those plus whatever else I might NEED regardless if its on sale or not. My best at Bi-Lo was spending about $20 and saving about $50. It was last month.

    • srtasa

my best deals had to have been when we had a harris teeter and i had learned how to really shop there the last 6-12 months that they were open. it was open less than 5 yrs and i really miss them.

    • Lori

I have been addicted to CVS for some time now but I think this was my best week ever! I got $102.17 worth of stuff for $5.56 OOP! I did 4 transactions and used CVS coupons, printable coupons, paper coupons and ECBs. And to make even better I still have $15 in ECBs to use next week, YAY! I also did my best small trip to Publix yet this week as well, $4.75 for $32.18 worth of stuff! I love a bargin and love having a place to share the deals, Thanks Jenny!

    • Meredith

I have only been “couponing” for 2-3 months. A few weeks ago at Publix, I got $135 worth of groceries for only…(drum roll, please lol)…$7.88!!! Everyone I told was completely shocked! I love using coupons and the challenge of it! Oh yeah, just a side note…Publix is my new favorite store!!!

    • Saved 69% at Publix… I’m so thankful for this new way to save!!

    • Christie

      SOUTHERN SAVERS IS THE BEST.

I have learned so much from this site and all its followers. I love it and now feel pleasantly spoiled.

My favorite experience was this week when I bought $120.00 worth of groceries for under $50 – I saved over $70 on name-brand items I would have bought the generic versions of (for more $) otherwise!

Thank you for all you do!

    • Jenn M

Thanks to you I now shop at Wags and CVS and get upset if my total is over $1! You have saved me so much I can’t even begin to thank you! I think the best is the Food Lion line-up. You are the only blog I read that is down south so I wait for your post every Wednesday!

    • rachel

Wow, there have been so many, thanks to your site! I would guess the best would be a run to Blooms awhile back. $115 worth for around $14!!! Yahoo.

    • Elizabeth

This past week we had 3 sick kids, unfortunately. This Hoorah is for my husband’s sake.

He went to RiteAid to pick up two prescriptions for our 2 kids, which I had transferred from Walgreens after dropping them off. I gave him 2 $25 transfer coupons. When he went the cashier was only going to give him 1 gift card, but then he corrected her advising it should be 2 gift cards. Well, there were 2 meds in one prescription and she ended up giving him 3 $25 gift cards for our 2 kids! The next day, I transferred my prescription to K-mart and got an add’l $25.

So, this past week, we’ve gotten $100 in gift cards doing the transfer deal!

I think my husband is sold on all this running around I’ve been doing, now.

For me, my big win is still my trip to Publix when I got $175 groceries for $68. I know it wasn’t 75%, but it was one of my best trips ever! I got so much stuff!

Love this site and think you’re the greatest!

    • I spent $5.00 and saved $60.00

      I got at Publix:
      7 tubes of toothpaste
      6 things of chicken nuggets
      1 listeriene
      1 box of mushrooms
      1 bag of potatoes
      1 bunch of bananas
      2 bags of cat food
      1 salad dressing

AND IT IS ALL THANKS TO YOU!!!!! SO THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

    • Last night, I got Softsoap handsoap for only $.04! They were on sale for $1.09, and I used 35 cents off coupons, which they tripled this week, so I got three of them for 4 cents! I was so excited!

I’m still new to this, but that was fun. :)

    • chris

I started last week with $12.10 on a Walgreens gift card. I have purchased one Colgate toothpaste, on Colgate toothbrush, one box of Lipton teabags, six pouches of vitamin mix, two Mentos gums, four Degree deodorants, and two Dove deodorants. I now have register rewards totaling $13.00 and a rebate coming for $1.63. All that stuff and $2.53 more than I started with!

By the way, I love Amazon and could use the $25 gift card yesterday!

    • sharon

I’ve been checking out SS for a couple monthes and its been a huge help. Thanks!!! Most trips to Publix or Bilo average saving 65%. Loving it! Couple weeks ago Bilo had a promo that gave coupons for 3 FREE gallons of milk if you bought 7 boxes of Kelloggs cereal. They were BOGO and had I $1 coupon for each box — $8 OOP got 7 cereal & 3 gallons milk. When i get the free milk I’m 1/2way to getting another free with their milk tokens

Mine was when I got (3) 12 packs of Cokes for $.50 from CVS, plus $3 and a $5 off $25 coupon for my next purchase! YAHOOO!

    • Erica

Hi, Thanks for the chance to win one of these amazon gift cards. I would have to say that I am always having a better than the last time couponing experience. I do love the Walgreens deals, especially when the Garnier products are free! I love to see the ladies faces at the cashier stands and the people behind me are always in awe. I think sometimes they get mad at us couponers, but when they see the savings, there draws just drop! Love it!

    • Amy in LA

My favorite deal was when i went to CVS and I bought 4 boxes of Quaker granola bars and 2 boxes of Quaker oatmeal… and i only paid 11 cents! I was SO proud and the cashier even told people in line behind me that extra bucks really works!

    • Elizabeth

My most recent favorite was the Publix Morningstar Farms sale—all 50% off, or less than two dollars. I had 40 $2 off coupons!! And you taught me to get rain checks (3 sets, for 10-20 boxes each!), which I plan to use in the upcoming months. Thank you!

    • noelle

Probably the most memorable was actually a blessed surprise. Since I have been using this site and changed the way I shop, our grocery budget has gone down by nearly $150 a month. I did my final shopping trip for the month of March (saved 75% by the way) and had in mind what would be left of the budget for that month. My husband realized he had put a receipt in twice and I ended up being an additional $77 under budget!I had one impressed CPA husband–it’s a hoot–he’s telling all the other CPA’s about Southern Savers at his firm.

      Thank you, Jenny

    • lauren

best savings have to be had at CVS! i never spend over $1 have been walking out with detergent, lotion, make-up, and of course, toothpaste!

    • I am so glad to hae found this site! I always go to walgreens and I never use the rebate book because I just don’t have the patience. I appreciate all your hard work to lay everything out!
Also, I hardly EVER shop at Publix because they are a tad expensive for me, but I see a tab for them too, so I will check it out! Off to post your link on my blog!

    • Carmen

I think my best savings was a shopping trip to Walgreens. I had $65 worth of product that I paid $4 and some change. I came home and submitted a ESR for $5.99. Totally free trip!! Your site is one of my favs. A BIG Thank you!!

    • Emily

What a great giveaway! Thanks again for all that you do-I really enjoy reading about all of the deals you post!

    • Stacy

I’ve been using your site now for about 3 months since my son was born and have saved TONS of money. Even though I am buying diapers and wipes we still spend less than before he was born! My best deal was the Huggies diapers and wipes at Walgreens using the $5 and $3 coupons and then getting $10 in RR! I couldn’t do it without you!

    • Emily

Whoops, I didn’t read the instructions very well. My best savings was at Walgreens- I spent $0.13 out of pocket and saved $31.87. Plus I had register rewards left over for the next week!

    • Brandi

My most recent major savings was at Bi-Lo. I went very late so that I would be checking out close to closing time as to not disturb other shoppers with my coupons, etc. I ended up saving $ 178.00 on my bill, while paying OOP – $ 114.00. It was a manager checking me out, and she was shocked. I actually “locked” up the cash register and it wouldn’t accept anymore coupons! She ended up having to give me $ 3.50 in cash….A few other night owl shoppers behind me weren’t inconvenienced, more like amazed. My new favorite saying for those who say it takes up too much time to coupon is: ” If you don’t have the time, you haven’t been broke enough.” Thanks for your site! It has changed my family’s life!

    • Merritt

I just want to say thank you so much for all that you do. You are helping people during such difficult times. My favorite deal had to be Walgreens this week, not because the deal was that great, but because my mom was with me. The RR were not printing up right so, of course, I had to get the manager and it took awhile, but he made it work. My mom kept whispering, “Just let it go…” It was too funny, but in the end she admitted that it was worth it. I have saved money and learned to be more assertive from this site! Thanks so much!

    • Kimberly

I am a newbie, but I did my best deal this week. I went to Target and purchased soap, All detergent, bathing suit for daughter, mascara and food. I only spent $8.14 and saved $27.19. I made the cashier mad, since I had like 15 coupons and none of them would scan. I am glad there was not a line behind me. It felt good saving that much money. I cannot wait to try it again. It is addictive.

    • My best lately…I purchased one gallon of clearanced organic milk at local store, used thier in-store organic coupon along with a free milk catalina from Kelloggs and the cashier handed me back 59 cents!! I was thrilled!

    • Wendy

Best savings yet was $125 saved on one Publix trip (spent $158). Thanks for all your deals :)

    • Amanda

Ok…Today is the best example! I went into CVS.
      I spent 13.83
      I saved 110.23
      I got 8.99 in ecbs

      I felt AWESOME!

I saved 90% NOT COUNTING ECBS EARNED!

    • Christi

I’m still new at this but at Walgreens I got 182 diapers, a large pack of Huggies wipes, 27 double rolls of toilet paper and 2 boxes of dish detergent using coupons, RR and sales. I spent $32 for all the above.

Also at Kroger on one of the mega sales I spent $21 and saved $77!!!

    • Maehing O

I think out of the 1 millionth hits, I sent about 100 of them over the past 2 months! I just love, love, love this site, and tell everyone about it! In the past 8 weeks, I have been paid to take 10 reams of paper out of Staples, gotten numerous things for free, and I have saved AT LEAST 65%, and up to 78% on my grocery bill at Bi-Lo, Publix, and Harris Teeter. My pantry is stocked, my coupons are in order, and I am looking for the next best deal! Thanks for all you do, and I hope this site stays up 4EVER, or until I no longer shop like a banchie, and save tons of money doing it! It’s like a big FUN grocery game, and my game is ON thanks to Southernsavers.com!!!!!
      Happy Couponing to you all!

    • Charis Webster

The best I have do yet is $134 worth of groceries at Publix (Service is DEFINATELY a pleasure there!!) for $21 and change — Over $100 savings — Lots of free stuff — My neighbors are in shock as to how I can do it — I update my status on Facebook with my savings and get lots of YOU ROCK comments — I respond with no JENNY ROCKS with Southern Savers —

Thanks for helping me make feeding my family affordable again.

I am a SAHM with 2 kids and a hubby — he makes decent money but every little bit of free/cheap food helps out!

Again THANKS Jenny for your GREAT work!

      JENNY ROCKS!!!

      WebsterMom

    • neljo mullins

i have made 150.00 dollars on Prescription Transfers. i saved 126.31 at publix and spent 64.25

    • Charis Webster

PS — I am thinking about making a shirt that says “ask me how I save money shopping at this store” and wear it evertime I got to Kroger or Publix! Then I will refer them to Southern Savers!!!

    • lee

I love your blog and would love this gift certificate to buy the True Blood first season on DVD!

    • Congratulations on 1 M visitors!! I check several times a day, getting just a little OCD about your site, and I tell everyone about your site. My best shopping trips are when I walk out with a bag of stuff for tax only, or the Huggies deal recently at Walgreens, but yesterday was a good shopping day–spent $38 on $173 worth of food, toiletries, laundry soap, etc at CVS and Bilo….for a savings of 78%. This is fairly normal, especially as I get better at it–I’ve been couponing for over a year now.
My pantry is completely stocked, my freezer is bursting, and I’m searching for somewhere to put all the cheap diapers and wipes that I have stockpiled for our baby due in June.
I’m almost ready to quit the Grocery Game, since your Bilo deals are awesome!! Another great advantage, I utilize my local grocery and drugstores instead of wasting time and money driving to Walmart.
Thank you for the great deal info and also for the Couponer 101 articles…just fantastic!!

    • alison m

My best Bi-Lo trip ever was this past week. I paid $24 for $83 worth of groceries!

    • Amy

Recent visit to Bi Lo spent $13.99 and saved $41.62 which is a savings of 75%!!! LOVE IT and appreciate all you do to make this happen for us!!!

    • I’m very very new to this. You “southern savers” don’t know how lucky you are to have the grocery stores you do. I did some shopping at Publix on a recent trip south and was amazed at the deals I got. I do love a CVS also!

    • SeeLifeMarvels

      Jenny –

I guess I’d have to say the FREE, ok (.58) overage, today for 2 boxes of cereal, and a 4 pk of yogurt drinks today from Publix & Kellogg’s & Dannon is the best so far. (See Publix post 111 today).

While seeing the huge amounts saved with B1/G1 deals is nice, I can’t say they are true savings because I NEVER would’ve paid those prices to begin with. However, after coupons and rebates and a stamp, to end up with money in my pocket, that’s a deal and a thrill!

Thanks for making this so much fun. I love telling people about your site.

    • Jennifer

I just learned about this site and my life will never be the same! I just bought free toothpaste for the family!

    • wendy

I’ve had a few 95% savings trips to Kroger! I love your site. It’s helping me stretch our food dollar farther than ever before. Thanks!

    • Deborah

I’m not sure of my best savings so far, but I had a great time at Bloom this morning for triple coupons. I spent $17.28 on $113.22 worth of groceries! :)

    • neljo mullins

      i twitter giveaway

    • Samantha

I bought $139.03 of groceries for $68 at Publix – a savings of 51%. I’ve only been doing this for the past two months or so, but I think that’s not bad for Florida where we can’t double coupons.

    • Olivia

I am still very much a novice when it comes to couponing, but my best savings so far came from Kroger. I only bought four items and managed to save 60%! I was so proud at that moment that I started an envelope that houses my receipts that show off the savings I am proud of. :) My husband gets a kick out of it. It’s just such a fun thrill to save money!

    • Laura

I don’t know about my best savings ever, but I did well at the “free meat” promo at Albies last week. $14 for a whole pile of stuff and Easter dinner to boot. Thanks for the fun giveaway–I really think this is one of the most helpful deal sites out there, even for the Northerners among us. :-)

    • Colleen

My best savings was a couple of weeks ago at Publix – I spent $80 on $190 worth of groceries! Savings of over 60%! All thanks to you!

    • Sandi

I don’t know that this is my best savings, but it is my favorite. I got $72 worth of stuff for about $5 at CVS. It was the shopping trip that got me hooked on coupons and drugstores! Thanks!

    • Amanda

I still consider myself a newbie but my best was at Publix. spent 43 Saved 45…it was my first under/over as I like to call it.

    • I got two boxes of kotex panty liners for 0.50 total.. Riteaid /and a bottle of v8 veg. juice fussion for 0.50 with a $2.00 off one cupon at Meijer’s. I am new to this too, and I can’t wait every Sunday for the sale flyers!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks

    • Mary Ellen Anderson

Love your website!!! I have two scenarios that were particularly memorable. One was at Kroger–$137 worth of groceries before coupons… $47 afterwards. The manager even commented on it.
The other: Walgreens–$43 before coupons, $4.30 after. I’ve not yet mastered being given money back, but that won’t keep me from trying!!

    • Kellie

On by best week at Publix:
      I spent $16.02
      I saved $39.09 which was 71%

Hopefully I’ll get as good as some of the rest of you and be saving up to 80% regularly. Thanks Jenny for your great site!

    • Lynn

    • Julie

I love Southern Savers. I cannot keep track of how many people I have told about it.
My best trip so far was a few months ago when Kroger had the Steamers Veggies for free. I got over $100 in groceries for under $10.00!

    • You do a great job, Jenny. My best savings so far is a freezer full of free meat that I have been gradually gathering through the Kingsford charcoal deal + add-in Q’s. Congrats on a mil hits!

    • It’s so hard to pick just one – I save so much every week! The $5 Huggies deal was one of my favorites – even though my own son is out of diapers. I was able to use it for a shower gift. I just LOVE your site and often refer my blog readers to your blog for the great shopping lists and coupon match ups. Thanks for all of your hard work!!

    • Laura

I save 99% at CVS all the time! :)

    • Sara

This week at Bi-Lo – $40 in groceries for $6.50!

    • amy

Hi! Pretty new to all this but after reading your website the first time a few weeks ago, I went to Walgreen’s and got $40+ worth of diapers for $15. After that, I am now completely hooked! Thanks so much!

    • Jenn

Congratulations!!!! This site is just awesome!!!!! I have had many great weeks due to you, Jenny and your wonderful website. My dh is so much happier to not have to worry if we have enough food to get through the week. Thank you Jenny!!!!

    • Dixie

Well, I don’t have the exact receipt, but of course my best saving was at Publix! Love Publix. I know I walked out for 4.88 with lots of stuff. I’m sure it was either the yogurt week (go YoPlus!) or the progessive ten item week. Both were great, as is every trip to Publix, and I’m just thankful I heard my friend at church talking about SouthernSavers. I thought I was doing well before, but now it’s so much better! Thank you!

    • Anne

Me too! CVS is the best!

    • Anne

Though, I had a $82 at Walgreens and paid $6.03!

    • Anne

I want to win and congrates on your 1,000,003,000!

    • Caitlin E.

I think my favorite and best deal to date might be the college inn broth I got awhile back. It was BOGO at Publix and Publix had a store coupon for it and I ended up getting like 10 big containers of broth for $2 or something. It was when I had just started couponing and it definitely made me want to keep going. Another time (I don’t remember what I bought) but I spent about $3.30 on $30 dollars worth of groceries. I really owe so much to this site. Thank you for all the hard work you do Jenny!

    • Priscilla

There have been so many good deals but I think one of my favorite was the purchase of 4 Schick Quattro razors for $ .07 (after taxes). My second favorite was the Huggies deal where I got 2 pkg of Huggies and 1 Huggies wipes for $1.00 (after RR). Congrats Jenny on your great job!!

    • John Chehovich

The best I’ve ever done is at Walmart, I walked out with over 300 dollars worth of stuff for a quarter. The CSM came over and even asked was I going to pay cash or credit.

    • Beth

I remember the day after Thanksgiving when I walked out of CVS with two huge bags of toiletries and it was all free — what a high!

    • Janet

Just started CVSing since January 2009 best lately was 4 purex laundry soaps and 4 Sobe waters for FREE!

    • Kelly

I would say my trip to Walgreens during a diaper sale….I got $208 worth of stuff for $5 (after RR)!!!! I still brag about that one!

    • My favorite but probably not biggest savings was very recently. I really like Eucerin cream for my dry skin but it hardly ever goes on sale and certainly not mega-sale to be free. I used some printable coupons and combined with the ECB deal at CVS a few weeks ago. I bought a whole bunch of other stuff too and my total came to $1.14. I love when the cashiers are excited for me and he totally was. Plus, I got $5 ECB back!

      Keep up the good work!

    • Erin

I am new to this, but in about eight weeks, I’ve saved almost $450, mainly at Publix. Love this site!

    • Lana

Last week was my best savings ever…..and something I’ve NEVER experienced before. I transferred a prescription to Kroger and therefore, got a $25 “gift card” added to my Kroger card. I did my shopping, calculating that after the $25 and coupons I’d owe about $2 and some change. (My total was over $25 before coupons, so the $25 came off my card first without any issues.) Well, after ringing through all my coupons, the cashier said, “Looks like I owe YOU $8.43” and proceeded to open up the drawer to give me back the money. I was stunned. I said, “Are you sure that’s right? How can you pay ME to buy groceries? That doesn’t seem right.” She rechecked all my coupons making sure they rung up right, and then said, “Actually, we do this all the time. It’s no big deal. Kroger still gets their money back from the coupons.” I asked her to just double check because I could go buy another bag of diapers or something so they wouldn’t owe me. She said the register wouldn’t let her open the drawer if it was illegal, but she called over someone else to verify that she could do that. What do you know! If that had happened at WAGS, they would have blown a gasket! So, I got PAID almost $9 to buy my groceries at Kroger last week! Can’t beat that! (Later at home as I was going over my receipt I realized I hadn’t taken into account my ecoupons…but still….. $9???)

    • Debbie

Saved $106 at Publix. It was awesome.

    • Lori

I walked out of Walgreens with 2 gallons of milk and 4 aveeno lotions and they paid me!

    • Corysmurf

Congratulations Jenny! You deserve all the great recognition you get for helping so many save so much, especially at an economic time when we all need to pinch our pennies!

You have helped me save at lots of locations, but I’ve leared to save the most at Publix. I never could afford to shop there before, but now that you’ve taught me the “art” of BOGO shopping & stacking coupons I can get stuff for far less than I used to pay at Wal-Mart.

      Here’s one example:
$3.69 Arnold Bread (2 on BOGO)
$3.69 Arnold Bread (2 on BOGO)
      $1.39 Knox Gelatin
      $8.77 Total before coupons
      -4.00 Arnold MQs $1/1
      -4.00 Knox MQ $4/1
      $0.77 Total after coupons

Thanks for the education and the giveaway!

    • This is a great giveaway. Thanks for all you do! Okay, my best savings… this is a hard one. I can’t really pick one because I just don’t have access to the stores you do. But, I can say that my best savings is just checking out your site (and a few others) daily — clipping the coupons, being prepared, sending away for samples and freebies, etc. But, since I would hate for my entry to be disqualified I will pick one that was good — canned cranberries on clearance for $.17 a can.

    • Mamie Beane

The most I have saved this is week is 4 bottles of Purex detergent for FREE!!!! I love CVS and this site.

    • Jenny,

I am registered as a Southern Savers Facebook fan today !

    • Heather

CONGRATULATIONS!! I remember when this site would get like 1 comment every once in a while, and now there are 76 on one post!

My best savings always come around Thanksgiving/Christmas with the crazy Black Friday/Christmastime CVS deals. The past two years I’ve walked out of CVS with about $100 worth of product and more ECBs than I went in with!

    • Merrilee

Thanks for all your hard work. I love this site! My best savings was at CVS during the Thanksgiving sale. I got about $160 worth of stuff for $2.xx out of pocket & $15 in ECB leftover! :)

    • I’m big on money saving and clearance racks. My husband jokingly said we should name our son Clearance Crane since everything I got for him came straight of the clearance racks. I love to buy one season ahead so I can save big money. I also go my son’s crib and mattress ( regularly over 600) for under 175 not fantastic but pretty darn good.
      thanks for the entry
      Tonyamcrain [at] aol.com

    • I joined Southern Savers Fans of facebook and left a comment on the wall.

    • kelli

I recently found your site. One of my best deals was at Harris Teeter during their last triple coupon event…$170 worth of groceries for $44.

    • beth

i’ve been rolling the same walgreens RR 3.50 for the past two weeks. Getting shaving cream and toothpaste for free. this is my favorite deal lately:)

    • Beth

I’ve been checking the site over the past month, thanks to a friend who told me about it. I have already saved sooo much money!!! My best deal so far was this past week of grocery shopping. I got over $30 worth of food and personal items (that was sale prices) for only 64 cents. Wow did that make my husband proud of me!!! Thanks for all you do to help us all save money.

    • Katherine

My best deal was getting $45 worth of groceries at Publix for only $8.99. I got groceries to make multiple dinners of spaghetti completely FREE!!! I love southernsavers!!!

    • crystal

This past week has probably been my best yet! I got Duncan Hines cake mixes for 11¢ each and Blistex for 14¢ each thanks to Brookshire’s triple coupons(may be local store in Mississippi, not sure??)!!! I was even lucky enough to get the Purex B1G1 coupons before they stopped printing so I got 4 bottles of detergent for only the price of tax, about 98¢! Less than 25¢ per bottle is a FABULOUS deal!

    • Mona

I always save more when I check your site before shopping. I think one of my best weeks was from Randall’s (Safeway) I used went three times with my coupons and theirs and walked out with about $378 worth of groceries and they owed me $.78 which the manager gave me. (I didn’t know they would do that.) It was really worth it all when the checker asked me how to get started so he could tell his wife. I told him to visit your website.

    • Mandy

My favorite deal so far was my Huggies deal where I got $45 worth of diapers and wipes for $16 at CVS. It equaled out to $0.07 a diaper!

    • Bethany

I am about 1 month in to my coupon adventure. I love this website and appreciate everyone who brings all the great deals. My best ever was last week at Publix. I saved $78 and my OOP was $51. That sounded so crazy to me, the coupons and shopping the store sales really helped my budget. I get such a thrill from it all. Thank you Southern Savers!!

    • Denise Parker

I was a dedicated Wal-Mart shopper, and I avoided drug stores like the plague. That is until I discovered your website in Jan. My best deal was last weekend at CVS. I spent $4.93 OOP, saved $72.15, and left with $12.49 in ECB’s to use next time. Thanks for sharing all your couponing knowledge!

    • Christina

My best to date was a while ago when my local Kmart was doubling up to $4 even though their computers were not programmed for it which ment overage for me. In the end I had just under $100 worth of stuff and they OWED ME $$$. The cashier and managers couldnt figure it out and let me walk out with all my stuff paying $0.

I appreciate the hard work you put into your site and visit frequently!
      Thank you!

    • Mandi

I just recently got my first 0.00 total at CVS with your help. I also got 5 cent ribeye steaks at Super Target thanks to your link to target coupons. My husband was very happy about that deal :)

    • Cheryl

I get excellent deals all the time thanks to you, but one of the best recent deals has to be the Staples paper deal. I got 36 reams of paper free with the rebates, rewards, and coupons that I had!!!

    • Kim

My best was spending 4.50 out of pocket and walking out with 15.00 register rewards.

    • I got $30 worth of stuff for 55 cents oop at CVS. That’s the best I’ve done.

    • Catherine Pierce

My best recent shopping trip was at Walgreens.
      20-Garnier Fructis Shampoo/Conditioner
      Regular Price, 4.29 X 20 = 85.80
      Sale Price 3 for $10, 3.33 X 20 = $66.66
      20/1 coupons = ($20.00)
      $10 Easy Saver Rebate = ($10.00)
      Total Price = $36.66
      Walgreens Savings = $49.14
I won’t need to buy shampoo and conditioner for a year!
Note: I know Walmart is less expensive, but I do not agree with Walmart’s business practices, so I avoid shopping there. I would rather give my business to Publix or Walgreens where customers and employees are treated with more respect.

    • I was able to get 0.00 total a couple of months ago with the $2/2 coupon that applied to any size of Wheat Thins.

    • Cheryl in AL

I tweeted about the contest. I am twtycw on twitter.

    • Paul

My best savings so far was paying $30 for $100 worth of stuff at Publix back in January. It was awesome.

    • Cheryl in AL

I haven’t been couponing long but I have managed to walk out of CVS with $60 worth of product with only about $12 out of pocket. I was very happy because most of it was non perishable and my stockpile grew.

    • Stacy

My best savings trip ever was 4.42 OOP for 98 dollars worth of stuff at Publix. I couldn’t believe it…I was on a high for days….LOL

    • I LOVE this site and its on my google homepage so I can check it every day. I have saved SO much money using your tips and money saving scenarios. My biggest savings so far was at Publix, where I saved over $100. Thanks for all you do! I’ve sent many friends to your site. :)

I went to cvs and walmart one night. walked into cvs. i came out with $138.70 for $3.65 and $15 ecbs. then was so happy went to walmart where i got $65.60 worth of stuff and paid only $4.05. then I treated my husband to brusters.(Because he was such a good boy, while I shopped) lol. We each got a waffle cone. I had a coupon so we only paid for one cone $4.00 so total of things = $204.30 and o.o.p. $11.70 plus15 in ecbs. and a treat for my hunny.

    • Tammy

Jenny – Thank you very much for all that you do for us. I cannot believe all the money I could have been saving all these years – and going to the stores and paying full price!!! What was I thinking??? I have been following your site (several times a day) since March and have saved so much since then. Your Extreme Couponing 101 seminar explained everything so well, especially how to read the coupon barcodes.

One of my deals that I am proud of is buying the Leapfrog Tag learning system and several books with the $10 off coupons. This coupon says “for the Learning system” (the $5 coupon states for the books). But by reading the barcodes, I knew the $10 coupons would work for everything. The Easter Bunny was very happy with this deal.

Thanks again for all of your hard work.

    • Lori

One of my best shopping trips was to CVS. I think I spent $.74 for about $30 worth of diapers and things…and got back $20 in ECB! I love using coupons. Really like this site. Thanks.

    • Elaine

The other week I got $254 in groceries for $45 – two trips back to back so it was not too many coupons at once!! Publix is the best for coupons and deals! Thanks for all the advice!

    • Dana

I love your site and congrats! What a milestone=) With Kmarts double coupons up to $2 – my total was 435 and some change and I wrote the check for 29. Still not sure how that happened – but I was basically just covering tax. It was amazing. I’d LOVE an AMAZON g/c! Please keep bringing us the great deals!

    • I love your site! I have been couponing for about 7-9 months now, mostly CVS, Wags and Rite Aid. But… I now have the Publix LOVE!! I have saved thousands, literally at the drugstores, but since I started really doing publix, I’ve Spent $120.01; Saved $713.90; percent saved: 83%. And the BEST one was last week when I spent $5.60, Saved $47 and will get back $4 in rebates!! :D
Although my Wags, Rite Aid and CVS deals are regularly moneymakers, I love that I’m getting groceries for such great deals!
      Thanks!

    • Donna

You and your site ROCKS!!!! I was introduced to your site in March! I can not begin to thank you for helping us save so much money. I get so excited about saving money I even look in other peoples buggys to see if I have a coupon they can use! :)

My biggest savings: CVS 2 Jumbo packs of Diapers, 1 jumbo pack of wipes…. only paid $3.60… got back $10 ECB YIPPEE!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your wonderful service!!! :)

    • Brooke

I’m now a publix fannatic!! I pass 3 grocery stores and travel through 2 cities just to shop at Publix. The savings and coupon high make the trip every week SO worth it. Thanks for helping my fam get through this crazy economic recession.

    • Congrats on your millionth visitor!

I’m not sure if this is my best savings yet, but it’s one of the best. I purchased $71 worth of groceries for $19.00. I then purchased $40.00 worth of Unilever products and made a profit of $16.00 in Walgreens register rewards. I will submit my grocery bill for the Unilever rebate and get $20 back. So in the end I will have gotten $111 worth of products for free and will make a profit of $17! The $40 worth of Unilever are a bunch of sale items, so actual value of everything would be closer to $125 or so if I count the regular retail value of the products.

    • christy

My best savings are every week at Publix. Stocking up on the free things every week really helps to stretch our grocery dollars. So fun!

    • Amy

I have been couponing for only about 4 wks now, but I am hooked, and it has been a blessing to our family! I worked out my own CVS deal last night and went today. I was able to get 2 Pantene shampoos, 2 Pantene conditioners, 1 Colgate Visibly White Toothpaste, 1 Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste, and 1 Ajax dish liquid, and here’s the best part — I only paid 54 cents cash for all of it! I had 10.98 in extra bucks from a previous transaction, $8 in coupons, and I used the $4 off $20 for beauty products coupon. Before coupons and extra bucks, the total had been close to $23. I also walked out of the store with $9.99 in extra bucks for next week. I was overjoyed, and so was my husband! Thanks so much for sharing all your wonderful information!

    • Shannon

I started couponing again once I found your site. It has helped *so* much during my hubby’s layoff. My best deal so far has been walking out of Walgreens with my favorite creamers for free! Thanks for all you do!

    • Michelle

THANKS to you – and other sites like yours – I’m now a coupon queen in training. Last week: Walmart total $89.00, spent $2.13 – Publix total $79, spent $4.03! The real coupon queen is my daughter – who has taught me soooo much about couponing. Two weeks ago her total at Kmart was $142 and she spent .16!!!! Her total at Publix was $130 and she spent .34!!!!! Reading and thinking and planning … REALLY pay off!

    • Tracy

don’t quite know the biggest savings as there are so many everyday because i hardly ever unless i have to buy anything at reg price. but i do remember saving $56 at Kmart with double coupons.

    • Kristi Z

Wow, I’ve been doing the couponing for about two months now and one of my best was purchasing $198 worth of groceries for our church pantry for $28. I’ve also been able to get jumbo packs of diapers for around $1.90-2.99 a pack using the $5 and $3 off coupons that were around a month ago. I e-mailed my entire family to go online and print two out of each and mail them to me and many did (till the limit was reached and they were no longer available for printing anywhere). We are now very well stocked, a true blessing since my hubby was laid off from work Feb. 13th and still looking for employement! So, thank you for everything

    • I don’t think I could even come up with my “best savings”. I think all my shopping is pretty amazing these days thanks to your website! I love hearing .32 cents as my total at CVS and then putting that on a gift card; or leaving Kroger with three times the amount of groceries I used to get for my money. I refuse to ever pay for toothpaste EVER again! Thank you!

    • Hmmm….I am new at the coupon shopping but did save about 65% 2 weeks ago. Had about $340 in groceries and only spent $140. What a great feeling!

    • scott

at schnucks…near st.louis…..just about every week….i get around 100.00 of groceries for 20.00 or so

    • Angela

I never shopped at Publix before Southern Savers – too expensive.
Now, I’m in there every week, and have a “regular” bagger that walks me out to the car!
The best trip I’ve had was when my husband went with me. We spent $50 and saved $100, with those $6 off meat coupons and $2 off $5 produce/deli FL coupons!
Congrats on passing a million! I talk about your site every day!

    • Melissa

I have been using your site since February and have slashed my monthly grocery bill by $400 consistently, and have also reduced our dining out bill because I always have a stocked pantry. THANK YOU!!!!

    • Lori

      Great to read your blog.

    • Jill

I am a newbie… I am just learning that CVS is a verb…. aka CVSing. I posted a request for Sunday coupons on Craigs List. No one offered me their coupons but a women told me about this sight. I love it! It is so clear. I love that I can print out everything from here like rebates and coupons. My favorite deal was the natural mouthwash at CVS. $14 for 2, used 2 coupons for 2 off. Got 8 ECB and got a $10 mail in rebate! whot! whot! My coupon-ing embarrassing moment… I asked my husband what B1G1 was… I have not forgotten it since : ). I love this sight and check it all the time. ohhh…. one more deal. I shopped at the pig (aka Piggly Wiggly) on their 4 day sale. Land o Lakes butter 4 (16 oz) for $4.00. I went in and since I only had 2 coupons for .55 I only got 2. .90 for 32 oz of land o lakes butter. I stopped in later that night to Piggly Wiggly and there were signs everywhere saying there was an error on the butter price. I realized I should have just stalked up. What a deal!!!

    • Donna

Thanks so much for the heads up you give to us. I have started to save so much money, we are always amazed at the savings. At Publix recently my husband and I spent $50 for ove r $150 worth of groceries, thanks to you!

    • Becca

Love your blog….best savings after RR was Walgreens , they PAID ME $2.71 to take home $135.36 retail of products home!

    • I am new to the world of couponing on top of sales and recently saved about $70 between bi-lo and publix.

    • Angela

      Congratulations Jenny!

I can’t remember what my biggest savings has been because of your site, but that really isn’t the most important thing that has come for me from your website. These are the two important and amazing things that have happened in my life – and my family’s life through the influence of your website.

I now coupon at the CVS which is less than a block from my house. In good weather, I push the stroller down with my two girls (and almost one boy) to work the deals. We have become wonderful friends with the staff at our CVS and they treat us like princesses. No one has ever been unkind or unfair to me at this store – the manager simply will not allow it. But, the best part of it is that these folks have become a ministry to us. I know about their lives – know when they think they’re pregnant (before they tell others), know when their families are sick or their babysitters aren’t working out. In return, they always ask about my pregnancy and ‘love on’ my daughters. It makes my neighborhood store a wonderful part of our lives.

The other thing that has come of my couponing is the admiration and respect of my husband in a new way. Since I left my job and began staying home with our daughters, the role of homemaker has been growing and evolving for me. I have discovered that since I don’t have a real income (occasional market research opportunities), the most helpful way for me to influence our money situation is to make the most of the cash we spend each week or month. So, now I have a great system for meal planning, efficient shopping, stockpiling and saving. My husband is so proud of me. He brags about me to his coworkers and even to my own mother! He never begrudges me the time I spend planning or shopping and is always delighted by my purchases (can’t wait for the chocolate sales to end so that we can get back on a better eating plan!).

Thank you for influencing so many people through the honest and helpful way you share the savings!

    • Amy

      Congratulations, Jenny!

I have had a great week thanks to your site. At CVS, 4 bottles of Purex and 8 SoBe waters for .98 (tax). I spent $8.97 for about $73 worth of groceries at Publix.

      Keep up the good work!

    • Elena

Thanks to your site I saved over $80 and only paid about $4 a few weeks ago on one of my trips to Publix. Keep up the great work.

    • Elon

around $100 worth of groceries for $20

    • samea

last week i got $51 of groceries for only $5!!!i love publix!

    • Congratulations, Jenny!

This week I went to 4 stores: Publix, Kroger, CVS, and Rite Aid. I spent right at $20 out of pocket and brought home a little over $100 worth of groceries, personal and home items. I love free stuff! Thanks so much for all you do with southernsavers.com!

    • troy duncan

thanks for all you do…congrats on the million milestone…

    • Tifany

      Hi!

I love your website because living in the south it is hard to find websites that have the BILO deals on them. Thanks so much for helping us save our money!

    • Well, it probably wasn’t the best savings I’ve had but remember when the soyjoy’s were $1 each at CVS and if you bought 6 you got $6 ecb? I started with an earlier ecb and rolled the $6 over 10 times. Sixty bars for almost nothing. It was fun!

    • Elizabeth

A few months ago I had an awesome run at CVS where I spent less than a dollar out of pocket and ended up with $97 worth of stuff! And best of all it was all things we really needed and have used ever since.

    • Elizabeth

I saved over 90% at Publix and came out with an arm load of stuff. I usually save this much or more at drugstores but my average savings at Publix has only been 50% to 70%, so 90% was really good!

    • The very best deal I’ve gotten I think I paid $16 for $80 of groceries at Publix, but I routinely save 60-70% at Publix each week. Thank you so much for all your hard work on these lists. They help me so much!

    • Andrea

My best savings was spending $0 (no tax nothing!) at CVS on $30 worth of stuff – Thank you Jenny for teaching me the skills it takes to master the ECB’s!!! :)

    • Marsha

My best savings I can remember is about $300 for $12 at Walgreens! I’m new and still learning – but it’s so fun and addicting! Thank you so much for all you do!

    • Candice

My best savings was a few weeks ago when I bought two weeks worth of groceries from Walmart for 53.00. Before coupons my total was 93. My hubby was so proud!!

    • Allison Pust

It’s hard to remember my BEST deal…I never pay for toothpaste, shampoo, etc…and have so much free medicine and stuff right now I am trying to stop myself from going to the pharmacies for awhile. BUT the recent Huggies deal at Walgreens had me and all my friends elated for awhile! 3 packages for $5. I did that I think 3 times. And used 4 or 5 packs as babyshower gifts. =)

    • Candice

      I twittered you ;)

    • Chris

I am still trying to get the hang of all of this but was very proud one week to reach about 65% savings at publix. That is really good for me!

    • I recently saved 86% at CVS. I am just starting out, so this was huge for me. I spent $7.00 out of pocket and got about $45 worth of stuff including 2 bottles of laundry detergent and a $12 razor.

    • I saved over $30 at Bi-lo last week. I’m so excited about shopping there again thanks to your posts about their savings and links to coupons. I was just going to Wal-mart b/c it was a little closer to home, but it’s definitely worth the trip to Bi-lo. Thanks!

    • Blair

One of my best trips was to CVS this week…my total was $83.89 but I only spent $8 OOP and got $8 in CVS bucks back!!! I was pretty thrilled about it!

    • Amanda

I’m pretty new to couponing so my best deal so far has been when Kmart did their super doubles last time… I got a load of stuff for 6.00!!!

    • Kindra

I have saved SO MUCH over the last few months…its so hard to remember my best! One of my fave Publix trips, I got $107.38 worth of groceries for $32!! I saved over $75 on things that we actually needed! I always rack up at CVS thanks to Jenny’s coupons matchups, way too hard to remember my best savings there ;)

I will say my fave individual deal that I use to try to get my friends hooked on couponing is when I got Pop-Tarts for 9 cents a box!!! I LOVED that deal!!

Thanks for all you do Jenny! I appreciate you!

    • paige

Id say when I walk out of a store with Zero OOP! that is my fave!! And I owe it all to jenny! Thanks Jenny you rock!

    • Heather N.

I love Southern Savers. I have only been using your site since the beginning of the year, but I really appreciate all that you do! I look forward to your posts everyday…I’m a die hard Publix fan because of your website and encouragement.

    • Ash

Gosh, best i can remember I saved $64 and spent $47…all at Publix. It’s so great to be able to shop just down the road at the FRIENDLIEST store I have ever been in. Thanks Jenny!

    • cindy

Publix- walked out with T-gel shampoo and cover girll nail polish and only paid the sales tax!!

    • Paige

Thank you Southern Savers. My best savings ever was at Publix. Spent $12.00 and saved $72.00
      Thank you!

    • I am pretty new to all this. My best savings so far was just a couple of weeks ago when I got $67.50 worth of groceries at Publix for just $14.65. That’s about a 78% savings.

Thank you for all the tips, tricks and ideas.

    • I also signed up on your Facebook page. FUN!!!

    • Love the site…don’t know what my best record is to date, but with all the help I get here, I consistently feed our family of hungry guys on the cheap every single week. Thanks for all the help!!

    • Stacy

Wow, my best deal ever – that’s tough. I had a great visit to Harris Teeter once during triples where I saved around $70 and paid only $11. Was pretty happy with that!

    • rachael

My stepdad and I go shopping weekly. Our best total was in November at Kroger, we spent $12.74 and saved $163.42. We still have our receipt hanging on the fridge!

    • Lauren

Most of my savings has come from WAGS (especially the diaper deal) because I have one close to home, but since reading about Publix from this site I now travel an hour out of the way to shop there. I spent $30 and saved $40 on my first trip! As a newbie to couponing, I cannot thank you enough for freeing me from my weekly Walmart trips!!

    • Arissa

Best I’ve ever done at Publix was $5.XX and saved $131.XX. I was on the phone in the car on the way home calling my husband. lol
Best I’ve ever done at CVS was 8 packs of Huggies diapers for $1.XX. :)

    • Angela

I have had so many amazing savings trips thanks to Southern Savers. Here are a few highlights:

      1. Publix: Spent $3.05, Saved $51.30
      2. Publix: Spent $41, Saved $237 (this past Thursday)
      3. Walgreens: Spent $2.08, Have $12 in RR to use and Saved $130!

I have posted all of this on my Facebook Group site ‘Angela’s Money Saving Tips’. Thanks Southern Savers!!! Our family is LOVING the savings and so are our friends.

    • Christa

LOVE your site! Just found out about it in late Feb – have learned the concept quickly and love teaching others. My husband loves bragging about what is all in our pantry – he says “pretty soon, we”ll have enough to open a store, just with stuff you’ve gotten for FREE!”.

    • Angela

Here’s what the $41 Publix order included:

My latest visit to Publix (when I saved $237) included the following:

1 Soft Soap Ensemble, 3 lbs watermelon, 2 Salad mixes, 1 Craisins pkg, 2 Vitamin waters, 1 Eggos, 1 Bayer, 8 boxes of cereal, 2 green bags, 2 Glad freezer bags, 2 Yoplait Yogurt pkgs, 2 BBQ sauce, 2 Revlon beauty items, 2 Chips Ahoy, 1 flour tortillas, 3 lbs bananas, 8 baked nabisco chip pkgs, 6 Crystal Light, 1 Antibac. Wipes, 3 pkgs of Almonds, 1 Gallon of Milk, 4 pkgs of coffee, 1 pkg of carrots, 5 lbs of tomatoes, 1 Duracell Battery pkg, 4 granola oat bar pkg, 1 pkg of straws, 1 pkg of cupcake wrappers, 6 lbs of grapes, 5 pears, 4 pkgs of Halls, 3 lbs of bell peppers, 4 cans of mexican tomatoes, 8 cans of beans (blk, pinto, kidney, etc.), 1 bag of lemons, 1 pkg of napkins, 1 Hallmark wrapping paper, 1 Hallmark card, 1 pkg of party umbrellas, 1 ream of printing paper, and 1 case of water.

    • Angela

      One more…
At Kmart last month, I spent $1.10 and saved $40 thanks to the double coupon matchup!

    • Judy M.

This week I think I did a personal best (my receipt book may tell me different when I find it!). I save $103 at Publix and only spend $63…I was amazed, and got several things for FREE!!! I never would have believed a couple months ago that I would be able to afford to shop there, much less load up my pantry with all of my items. TRULY AMAZING!!!

    • The best deal that I have done was at CVS. I got $60 worth of items in 3 transactions, $0 OOP and they paid me $14 in ECB’s for the priviledge of buying their stuff….gotta love it!

    • Pamela

I got 5 packs of Huggies for $3 a piece from Walgreens!!! It was my first purchase after being turned onto this website!!!! I have been hooked ever since!

    • Rochelle

My best deal ever came from Target. I was strolling through the baby stuff when I noticed a Britax carseat with no price on it. Our Target doesn’t carry Britax carseats, so I called a manager over to inquire about the price. He looked at me and said, would you give me $25.00 for it, I want to clear out this area. I sputtered yes, and he asked me if I wanted to open the box to see what color it was (someone had ordered it online and received one as a gift, so it was unopened). I said that was ok, because for that price I didn’t care. Well, I got home and opened the box and it was the Britax Boulevard Shannon, perfect for my little girl. I quickly jumped online to see how much it would have cost me- $340.00 with tax. A $315 savings on a top of the line carseat. The carseat has been perfect and I still check the baby aisles in Target, just in case……

    • Crystal

One of my best trips was this week at BiLo. I paid $54 for $167 worth of groceries AND got 15 cents off per gallon getting gas the next morning!

    • betsy

Thanks to your website I have been able to get some great deals in the past couple of months. I have saved so much money that it sickens me to think how much money I have wasted in the past. But I will look forward and anticipate even more great deals!!

One great deal that I can remember was at CVS a couple months ago when I got $33 worth of items for $.76. It was a pretty proud moment:)

    • Jeannie

Best savings are CVS 82.51 worth or stuff for $.02– And turned over for more extra bucks!

    • I am new to this whole fabulous process as of last week. I spent $88 dollars at Publix and saved a total of $54.29!!!! I also got free deoderant at Kroger! To me, this was a big deal and I can’t wait to shop and save this week!!!!!

    • Kelly D

The best deal I got was at Walgreens when they were doing the free diapers and money back on Glade air fresheners. I got 6 packs of pull-ups/diapers, 4 glade air freshener systems, toothpaste and advil for about 5 bucks. This is the story that I tell everyone to get them to go to the site!! I am converting people left and right:)
Thank you Jenny for all that you do to help us save money!

    • Josh

I really enjoy the site. It is helping out our family. My biggest so far is $126 for $75. That includes formula, without a coupon, and diapers with a $1 off coupon. The baby items really run the bill up quick. I have to use Pampers and Enfamil because of allergies, or I would not be so brand specific there. Thank you again for all you do!

    • christie

My best deals are a toss up between the Huggies deal at Walgreens, which I had enough coupns to do it three time. so i made $30 in RR and had he big $5 off coupns. Iw ill have wipses forever.

then at Publix I spent on,y 18.04 on over 70.00 worht of grocieries.

Thanks for all the tips on this site

      christie

    • Lisa

thank you for all of your wisdom!! I have been couponing for over 15 years. I learn something new everyday. I love your site. My biggest favorite this month has been the $5 off 25$ at rite aid. i make sure that i use coupons only buy what is on sale & try to get the rebate items. I have been getting 25$ worth of items for 10$ & then having rebates of anywhere from 3-10 so practically getting it for free. Milk is the cheapest in town there so i have been getting a gallon of milk pretty much everytime i go which as we all know usually dont have coupons for. My boyfriend thinks i am addicted because i have gone to riteaid everyday since i found that $5 coupon!!!! Thank you

    • Heather

My best deal was leaving Bi-lo with 2 full bags of groceries and they owed ME $0.78! My second best was at Walgreens, spent $12 for $125 product and got a rebate for more than $12.

I’ve told so many people…only doing this 2 months now, but wow…what an amazing difference your site has made in out grocery budget! Thank you!

    • I am very new to this, but full of enthusiasm! My best deal do far was the salad dressing at Publix. Where we got like .13 overage. Oh, I also liked the free yoplait yogurt.

    • Whitneyh

I don’t have a specific trip that stands way out as far as savings, but I am thrilled that I am finally averaging about 50% on my savings at Publix where I do most of my shopping! Which is a lower than a lot of people I know, but considering I have a child with severe food allergies which limits my savings to an extent ,I am THRILLED with the overall progress I am making! :)

    • Ginna

This week at Food Lion, I got a 12 pack of Cherry Dr. Pepper for $2 with a store coupon. The next day I had another store coupon and a coupon from the inside of the 12 pack I bought the day before so I got another 12 pack for $1!

    • Brooke Gallaway

The best deal I got recently was the Pepsi 2 Liters from Publix a few weeks ago when they were BOGO at ~1.50. I had generic $2 off any Pepsi product coupons from the Pepsi rebate a while back. I purchased four 2 Liters for ~$3.00 and used $8.00 in coupons for an ~5.00 profit. The cashier recognized that I would be making a profit and asked the manager if I could use the coupons and they let me!! Love your site!

    • Trecia

Southern Savers has helped me save a ton of money – I love leaving Walgreens saving more than 10 times what I actually paid for my items! :) Thanks, Jenny!

    • Mary

I have saved probably 1000’s of dollars the past few months doing this and I love all the freebies. My favorite was all the blood metters I got and all the razors and free crest tooth past. Last night I got a hair straightner, 20 dollars worth of make up and a whole bunch of easter candy for super cheap with rr and things and rebates galore!

    • Jo Ann

I have only very recently started this level of couponing. I have always couponed, but not any where near this level. The only thing I have done so far is the free Scunci’s at WalGreens.

I do have to say I am very jealous of all of you with all your grocery stores. We do NOT have any Bi-Lo, Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Harvey’s, Kroger, or Publix, Rite Aid. We only have CVS and WalGreens.

    • Christy

Thank you so much for your site. I never used to think very much about what I was spending at the grocery store, but thanks to a friend showing me your site, I am addicted. I get upset if I don’t save at least 50% and can’t stand to buy things without coupons. :) My best savings is probably around 80% at Publix. Now, a group of us save the free stuff that we don’t want or need and donate to a local charity. It gives us our shopping fix and we are helping a charity that needs help stocking their food pantry!! Thanks again!!

    • hi! i’m a newbie to this but my best trip so far was to Bilo—I bought approx $70 worth of groceries and after coupons and savings I only spent about $20!! WOOHOO! Also that same day I went to food lion and got 5 boxes of cereal for the price of one. (5 boxes for about $4!!)..
      I love this stuff!!

Mine personally was that I printed off some $5 off Tylenol coupons off the computer and my WM actually accepted them and I got the Tylenol for free

I am new to this couponing idea. However, I was hooked after last week. Publix had Land O Lakes sticks of butter on sale 2/$4. I had a $.50 coupon on one (which doubled to a dollar) and a BJs coupon for $2.50 off 4 lbs. Therefore, I got 4 lbs of butter for about $4.

    • a year ago I had my best savings ever…CVS almost $200 worth of products and I spent under $3 OOP.

Thanks for all the the Publix info! I get so excited about my shopping trips each week. Love your site!

I’m just getting started, but I love going to the store and the reciept shows how much you have saved… 67% off is pretty good to me! I love coupons!!! THANKS for all you do for us!!

    • My best deal has been the practically free wipes at Target using the Huggies coupons. I’m still new at this but having lots of fun.

My best was at Kroger – saved 78 percent on one transaction! Love it – and congrats on all the visitors!

    • Jennifer

My most memorable savings was the first time I got toothpaste for free!

    • Tracy

I LOVE Southern Savers! I shared the site with my cousin and she shared it with everybody under the sun… So now Southern Savers is a family affair for us.

Recently got 2 free bottles of mouthwash. They actually paid me to get it!

my best deals were when Target had the $2 off Sutton & Dodge meat and I was able to get 1 lb. of beef for .36!

I am not sure if my step-daughter has already posted, but when she told me about the postings I knew I had to post something. She and I go shopping every Wednesday night. We went to Kroger back in November and spent $12.74 and saved $163.42, and then saved 10cents off the next day! We keep the receipt hanging on the fridge to remind us of our best “trip.” Anytime we come home with anything less than that, my wife (her mom) is so kind to remind us that we are “slipping.”
