It’s a “fruit sale” week, so I need to go today and get veggies before they go off sale. Those red “new” potatoes are great steamed with those 2-lb for .49 carrots.

      • Lana

Yes.  They seem to alternate fruit and veggie weeks.  Works very well for keeping us in produce for cheap!

    • StacyD

I don’t see the HT sour cream for .37 on any of the lists.  Where am I missing that?

      • StacyD

         Sorry, I meant .35 – Daisy sour cream. :)

      • Teresa

I could not find it either.  I looked for a coupon in the coupon database and did not find one.  On the HT list the Daisy is listed $2 with no coupon.

    • Jessica P

So excited to see pineapples on sale for $0.99!!

    • mommyof1

first time looking at an aldi ad, and i must say that I wish we had one here where i live! (near savannah ga) as my hubby loves cantaloupe.. and the rest of the fruit is soo much cheaper.

    • Ed In Ncarolina

The kid next door makes more than that mowing lawns since it turned warm so early this year.

    • Guest

Thanks for posting the  price comparisons for other stores underneath the ALDI pricing. That really helps a lot!

      • guest

The comparison to other stores is ridiculous.  Items that are compared aren’t the same.  You can’t tell me that a bottle of organic pasta sauce is the same as a bottle of Prego pasta sauce. A $.02 difference in butter isn’t worth a trip to a different store to get a comparable item.  The Lunch Buddies Fruit Snacks is 25 oz for $3.99.  The Ocean Spray snacks that Jenny tells you to buy is a 10 pk of .8oz (8oz total weight) for $1.45 after coupon and you’d have to buy two to get that price – even then you’d have spent $2.90 for a mere 16oz.

And many of us don’t have Food Lion or Harris Teeter stores.  Unless this price comparison is going to be done for other stores, why single out Aldi’s?  We shop at Aldi’s because we want to.  We know what deals are good deals.  If we need hand holding to be told where to go for better deals when looking at an Aldi’s ad, then let’s see the exact same treatment on the HT, Food Lion, Walmart, Publix, Kroger, etc. ads.  It’s only fair, after all.

        • Jrmartin

I’m pretty sure she’s just posting it FYI for people who may be able to shop at those particular stores.  It’s the same way with Target and Wal-Mart ad posts, just so you know it is cheaper at other places.

        • Hey there,
I’m very sorry if you feel as though I’m being unfair to Aldi shoppers, that is not my intention.  I do try to point out these price differences at other stores.  I point them out for Aldi because Aldi is a great way to easily save money on your grocery bill, however, I like to point out that with coupons you can save more money at other grocery stores.  Please understand that I think Aldi is great and if you don’t have time for coupons or don’t want to deal with them, it’s a great place to shop.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Southern Savers!  However, Jenny has her best interest in mind.  Southern Savers is primarily about couponing.  I’d dare say people who don’t coupon also don’t use SS.  If we all started doing all our shopping at Aldi, Jenny would be out of a job.  While I love SS, the attitude toward Aldi does irritate me (sometimes I chuckle, too!)  No one and I repeat no one can beat their deals on produce.  There are no copuons for produce.  Jenny, rest assured, I will ALWAYS shop at Aldi but I will also ALWAYS continue to use SS (unless I get too irritated about the attitude toward Aldi.)  At times, the attitude seems as if you are putting Aldi down as a store and quite frankly, can at times seem a little childish and insecure.  With or without Aldi, you offer a wonderful service and shouldn’t feel threatened by them at all.  However, I do believe you shoot yourself in the foot sometimes where they are concerned.

          • Hey there,
Thank you for the feedback!  I apologize if the attitude appears negative, again, this is not my intention.  My goal is just to help people save money and Aldi can certainly do that.

    • justjenn

I asked the Aldi in Cookeville, TN and they told me that they don’t accept coupons.  Is there an Aldi coupon policy out there?  And is it their policy different from state to state?

      • cg

        Aldi doesn’t take coupons.

      • CYR

Yeah aldi doesn’t take coupons.  The reason she puts coupon match ups in the list is for those who price match the aldi ad at wal mart and then you can use the coupons at wal mart.  hope this helps

Love the prices of the produce. I go on WED and get the produce, then go the following tuesday to get more o=of the sale on produce before it changes on wed

    • Cailenebrown

How is the meat from Aldi? 89 cents for chicken breast seems unreal!! anyone know if it is the boneless skinless? i am just shocked because i have never seen such a low price lol

      • Mamahen34

I have friends on FB I just asked about aldi’s today cause I’d never heard of their stores but I got 32 positive comments about their store, but you do have to either carry your own bags or pay  for the bags you use there & you bag your own groceries, & you pay a quarter shopping cart rental but for the deals they offer,,, It’s worth that to me if that’s what they’re doing to keep grocery costs down. I’m def checking them out next week!!!!

        • Kate

When you return the cart and hook it back up to the other ones, you get your quarter. And at least here, you can pick up empty boxes they have laying around the store and use those to put your groceries in without having to either bring your own bags or buy a bag there! I love my Aldi’s because we can save so much money on groceries there :]

      • Ashley_cleaning

It is not boneless skinless…. I stocked up on the chicken for .89 a few weeks ago and I was a bit skepical at first too but the brand was Tyson and I have been trying the weekly Wednesady special since and have been quite impressed with their quality.

        • Cailenebrown

what is the weekly wednesday special u referred to??

    • busymom2

Our Aldi was out of the chicken by 10am, Oh well, the produce was worth it and I found some lasagna rolls that were actually quite good at a great price…

      • The produce prices are great!

    • Reynoldsja

I went yesterday and got 10 pks of butter, strawberries and grapes!  I missed the sale on butter at Bi-Lo last week.
