When money gets tight many of us sacrifice things that we need to make sure that the folks around us have what they need.  For me that was glasses for years.  I would just squint or accept life a little blurry because money for glasses just wasn’t in the budget.  That was before the days of FREE glasses though!

Right now new Coastal.com users can get a FREE pair of glasses!!

To get the deal:

1.  Go to Coastal.com and click the “Really?! Click Now” button.
2.  Click the “Get your free pair now” and then start browsing.
3.  Pick your frames and enter your prescription.
4.  Use promo code FIRSTPAIRFREE at checkout.

You will have to pay shipping and handling costs, and any lens upgrades are an additional cost.  Keep in mind that this promotion is for first time Coastal.com glasses customers only.  Certain frames are also not eligible.

All the fine print aside, I was able to get a great pair of glasses for $15 and that definitely beats the $200 I remember paying for an old pair!

Oh and they also have great prices on contacts too.

I have ordered  from many online glasses sites, including this one,  and never had my glasses that I can actually see through.  I have taken them to my optometrist’s office and had them compare it to my actual prescription and they were definitely off the mark.  I then saw an article saying that more than 50% of glasses ordered offline are not within prescription or safety standards.  I think I’ll pay a bit more and get glasses that are actually useful and safe!

We have ordered from Googles4U a few times.  My husband likes his $20 online glasses much better than the $200 pair from the local eyeglass store.  He wears them daily and the expensive pair are now his spare pair.

    • I have never ordered from Coastal but I have been ordering my glasses, hubby’s glasses, and my twin 3 yr olds glasses from zenni optical online for two years. We got one pair that had the wrong prescription (sunglasses). My twins go through a new pair every three to six months, and I am on my second pair. My script is -6 so paying $63 for a nice pair of glasses is excellent compared to the $700 pairs I always got at the optometrists! And remember too with mail order if you saw a real doctor to get your prescription their office should always check your glasses no matter where they come from! My opthamologist’s office will check any pair we bring in :) Hope that helps, I know this offer made me jump until I realized with my script glasses would be in the hundreds for me!!!

Just ordered a pair for myself and paid about $30 (to get the extra scratch protection, UV protection, etc.) but that’s much better than the last pair that I bought that were over $300!!  Thank you Jenny!!

I just ordered a pair that would have been almost $200.00 and paid $12.00 for shipping! Thats what I call an amazing deal!!!!!

    • Scrappyautie

Spent only $9.95 for a great looking pair of glasses!!!  THANK YOU so much for sharing, Jenny  ; )

How long is this running?  My prescription is expired… :(

      • Erin

just fyi, the site doesn’t ask for a date or the dr’s name to order glasses.

    • Laura

I tried :(  My 5 year old has bifocals.  They have one pair that would work and they look like the kid on A Christmas Story. Not great for a little girl.  The lady kept telling me I was wrong, that kids don’t have bifocals.  Well, mine does!  I wish the online places were more willing to do bifocal lenses in kids frames.  At least Costco will!

      • Lyndacoupon

I completely understand. One of my kids has been in bifocals since she was 3. We get ours at BJs–just got a pair a few days ago for $59 to replace the ones we got last year. You don’t need to be a BJ’s member to use the eye glasses dept!

I wear progressive lens & these are more expensive than at Costco.  Actually, they had a 40% off code on the website that worked better than the “free” pair….but still too expensive. I guess I have to choose to read or drive to get a free pair….LOL :)

Just got a pair of Jones New York glasses for $13 shipped!  What a fun way to splurge on a fun color without paying full price.

LOVE IT!!!! Some were $38, $48, some $98.  Was afraid only the very cheapest would let me use the code, but to my surprise, I picked a $98 pair and the code worked beautifully! total was $13.76.  Thank you Jenny for everything….

    • Jeg77

Beware if you have a prescription with a prism, they don’t honor those  :(

    • S_steffee

Very easy to upload your own picture and “try on” all the frames!!

    • SJHM

I’m so excited!! I got to the end with glasses for me and realized that my prescription is so high I’d have to pay $100 to get the special thin lenses, so instead I got my husband a pair of $70 glasses for $14!!! Thanks, Jenny!!! Will definitely be telling my friends about this deal!

    • Carla
