For example this week we turned a regular meal at our house into “this is amazing” dinner. We’ve made Lipton Onion Soup burgers for years… but adding in a fun twist with Hellman’s Real Mayonnaise and salsa made these different and yummy. Everyone went back for seconds until there were no more left!!
Here’s the recipe for you try:
Lipton Onion Burgers with Creamy Salsa
INGREDIENTS
1 envelope Lipton Recipe Secrets Onion Soup Mix
2 lbs ground beef or ground chicken
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise
1/2 cup fresh salsa, drained if desired
8 hamburger buns
DIRECTIONS
Combine Lipton Recipe Secrets Onion Soup Mix, ground beef and water in large bowl; shape into 8 patties.
Grill or broil until done.
Combine Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise with salsa in a small bowl.
Arrange onion burgers on buns, then top with creamy salsa.
I made them into slider size patties (there was a sale on slider buns) and we also put a slice of lettuce and tomato on each one.
This is a great example of the Best Meals Happen at Home recipes and will be on the table in less than 15 minutes! Hellmann’s Mayonnaise is even on a BOGO sale this week.

There are other great dinner ideas including ingredients that are also on sale this week! We also made a “we must make this again” Easy One-Pot Chili Mac. Using Annie’s Mac & Cheese, Progresso Soup and Muir Glen tomatoes. It takes about 25 minutes but really is a one-pot meal that makes cooking and clean up a breeze. All you’ll need to do is open the packages and cans and stir!!
INGREDIENTS
2 boxes (6 oz. each) Annie’s Classic Cheddar Macaroni & Cheese
1 lb ground beef, browned
1 can (18.5 oz.) Progresso Southwest Style Black Bean & Vegetable Soup
1 can (14.5 oz.) Muir Glen organic fire roasted diced tomatoes
3/4 cup water
2 cups Cheddar Jack cheese
1/4 cup fresh chopped cilantro
1/4 cup green onions, diced
1/2 serrano or jalapeño pepper, seeded and sliced thin (optional)
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 450°F. In a large (3.2 quart or larger) nonstick Dutch oven, combine the pasta and cheese sauce packets from macaroni and cheese boxes with browned ground beef, vegetable soup, tomatoes, water and 1 cup cheese.
Cover and cook on the stovetop over medium-high heat for 10 minutes, stirring every few minutes. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Transfer to the oven, cooking 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Top with sour cream, cilantro, green onions and jalapeno or serrano slices, if desired. Remove and spoon into bowls.
This easily served our crew of 7 with leftovers!
