I had a bad coupoing experience with Family Dollar.  They had it listed in their paper ad about the amount to use on a product from SS.  And when I took the paper in and the coupon and got the correct product.  Because it wouldn’t ring up, the manager wouldn’t override it.  They didn’t even try to scan the coupon.  Just stood there telling me that their register terminal wouldn’t accept it.  And she said Yes she knew that is was listed with coupon in there paper.  She handed me back my coupons and I handed her back her products.  And left.  I was courtous the whole time, but will never go back.  I hope no one else has to expeience this!

Well be careful, I went there today and the cashier scanned everything including the $5 off $25 dollars (after coupons) she told me the total was $25 and some change. I was under the impression that that was after the $5 off coupon… which it wasn’t so she just handed the coupon back to me … Well, I was not about to spend another $25 and she did not offer to adjust it or let me add to the order. To top it off.. she kept complaining about the coupons that didn’t have the standard bar codes.

Just left Family Dollar where I used the $5 off $25 coupon as well as manufactureres coupons.  The net total was $21.90 thus voiding the $5 off $25 coupon.  On the coupon it states “$5.00 off coupon valid on any net purchase of $25 or more.  Net purchase price determined after all other offers, coupons and/or discounts have been taken.” If I would have bought a $3.10 item/items the $5 off $25 coupon would have been valid.  I keep telling myself to slow down, read and understand these offers thoroughly before you get to the check out counter, but in todays harried world I keep making the same mistake over and over.

Yeah, I had the same thing happen only thing that really irritates me is the cashier was trying to brag that she coupons also, however she scanned my coupon and made it appear that it was removed then told me my total to pay only to find out that my “pre-tax” amount was not enough… Well, if you coupon wouldn’t you think that this is something you would have told someone before having them pay. Just saying… I have had a much better experience at the local Dollar General Store.
