Is it just me or does this ad seem better than the last couple of ads?

      • No, you’re right. I am actually planning a trip to FL this week after who knows how long.

    • Billy4357

Can you use a Food Lion e coupon with a paper manufacturer coupon? I know at Harris Teeter when you load coupons to your card you can also use a paper coupon.  I do not coupon shop at Food Lion often so I am not familar with their policy.  Thanks

      • Martintolisten

i saw on this site someone had said you could not, so i asked at my local food lion in chattanooga and they said yes

        • Mkshribhu

The foodlion on hwy 58 will accept both, and i love couponing at this store, never had a problem!

      • Guest

Website says no, but I have used both at my local Foodlion.

    • Seastman14

It says prices shown are after discount? is that if you buy 4 of the same item?

      • AWS

No you can mix and match.  But since you get $1 off every 4 its basically just taking 25 cents of any product to get the price on the list.  Make sense?

      • Coupons090

they do not have to be the same mix and match .4,6,8…

      • Coupons090

they do not have to be the same mix and match .4,6,8…

      • Jtdjagos

I saw that also. I think Jenny is giving us the final price after the discount so don’t take another .25 off each item.

    • Mel

I stocked up during this sale last time they did it (was that a year ago already?).  The only Food Lion product I don’t recommend is their tuna.  Maybe it’s just me, but I thought it was pretty gross… mushy and more like cat food, in my opinion.  Just saying, make sure you like it before you buy a bunch!  : )

      • Teedlesp73

Might have just been the batch of tuna you got.  We really liked the FL Tuna we got.

Does anyone know what size the Food Lion Soda is for 33¢?

      • Anonymous

Now I am confused – I just pulled up the ad and it says the Food Lion 2L are 89¢ – So wouldn’t that make them 64¢ each – which is still a great price….

        • Thall561

          probably the cans

      • Deanna

I check with my mom who does price changes for FL and she says that they sell individual cans of FL soda for 0.33 and individual bottles of water for 0.27. She is going to check tomorrow to see if they scan up under the deal or not. If so, then you couls potentially get 4 cans of soda for only 0.32 and 4 bottles of water for only 0.08. We’ll see. . . .  Be sure to read my post above regarding how the deal works. Best to you.

Thank you so much for the information – You have been very helpful!  I normally am a Publix girl but with prices like this you cant go wrong…  Do you know if I could do multiple transitions and roll the rewards that printed to my next purchase?

        • Anonymous

          • Deanna

As far as I know, the FL MVP card doesn’t track your orders like the HT VIC card does, so you could potentially do multiple transactions in one day. My mom is a big couponer and has been since I was . . .  well, let’s just say for MANY years. She usually calls me when she’s doing the price changes/checks to let me know of the unadvertised deals. I will try to post as soon as I find out.

            • Anonymous

Thank you so much…  You have been a great help!

            • Anonymous

I plan on going tomorrow afternoon!!

    • Deanna

Spoke with my favorite Food Lion scan analyst (aka mom) who said that the discount is not applied immediately but rather prints a coupon for the amount off your next purchase. The coupon will expire 2 weeks from the date it prints.

      • Thall561

        that is correct

      • Sigaduro

The way you can use it on the same visit is do multiple orders and put all your Food Lion brand items in the the first transaction and then turn around and use the print out $ off next order on your non-FL brand stuff. Works well and you never have to forget about using before it expires.

    • Jen

Limit 1? Does that mean I can only buy 1 of each of the Food Lion items per visit?

      • Anonymous

No – I take it as one reward per transaction.  Say you bought 44 of the items you would only get the $10 not $11…

    • Elle

they had good deal on Arm and Hummer toothbrushes, but when I brought Internet coupons, manager told, they are FUZZY (they are not). It took her near 15 minutes to check my coupons.. I felt terrible – I didn’t do something illegal
It is manager’s attitude or Food Lion policy to make customers feel bad each and every time, when we use coupons at this store?

      • Jennylushbaugh

Absolutely Agreed! They are just terrible, had 2 terrible experiences with 2 different stores. Why don’t they understand they will get reimbursed? I don’t get it :(

      • Guest

I hate couponing at Food Lion.  I always have problems.  I am so grateful that I have just about every other grocery store nearby as well.  I only happened to check the ad today because I have a raincheck that I need to use and thought I would see if they have anything else worth getting…but they don’t which isn’t a huge surprise.

        • ocean

My favorite is Bi-lo’s. I never have any problems using coupons at Bi-lo’s!

      • stephaniejanusz

I’m a cashier at Food Lion, and I and all of my managers (even the ones who don’t understand coupons at all) are usually REALLY relaxed about it. They’ll accept pretty much anything. However, I have been to another food lion where a specific cashier took about ten minutes to examine each and every coupon and then literally question me on them.

food lion as a whole isn’t very bad, it’s just the individual cashiers and managers who determine your couponing experience, unfortunately.

    • Elle

The ad for my area says Ground Chuck $2.99/lb. Bummer. But Bi-Lo has it on sale this week for $2.59/lb so no biggie :)

      • Diane

my food lion was $2.99/lb too. Thanks for the heads up on bi-lo

    • Anonymous

Does anyone know if Food Lion will do a special order?

      • Thall561

    • Amber

I am so confused… I need more information on this cat food… i can only find name brands on their site ad and this fays food lion cat food and is it wet or dry or what?

      • Anonymous

I would think that it would be cans…

      • Anonymous

At my Food Lion in southeastern NC, Home 360 canned cat food is 45¢ for the 5.5oz.  Four cans would cost you $1.80.  You’ll get a coupon for a dollar off your next order so it’d be like paying 20¢ a can.  The prices Jenny listed are after the 25¢ discount.

      • Asat2k

It was cans last time I did this.

    • Boomer3145

Something doesn’t seem right ,do they raise the prices before the sale?  The FL mac & cheese was 49¢ last time I bought it, not on sale at the time?  Lesson for today -the cent sign is alt 0162 for non Applican Americans (Apple users)

    • Boomer3145

The regular price on their brand cream cheese was $1.29 also.

    • Rjabthompson

I had a great experience at my local food Lion in Liberty, NC  today.  I bought 80 cans of cat food in 9 different transactions.  The manager and cashiers were so nice they opened an extra register so I could do all 9 transactions one after another.  I know doing the different transactions doesn’t make the cat food any cheaper but it makes the oop expense lower….80 cans of cat food for $18.00 plus tax and a $2.00 coupon to use on my next transaction.

      • Cheryl

I live in Charlotte and hope I can get this deal at FL… I do need some of the canned items and I’d like to do my purchases the same way. I will try and if they don’t let me I will ask for a refund. I don’t want a $10 on my next purchase. Food Lion will have to prove to me what customer service means. I have had problems with that store before and after 30 years I quit shopping there….. so I am going to see.

        • Rjabthompson

First I ask customer service if I could do 9 transactions and was told yes.  Then because there were only 2 lines open I ask the manager if I could do the 9 trans at customer service so I wouldn’t hold up one of the lines.  The manager had the lady form customer service open another register for me.  So I think it would be best to talk to them before you get your items.

          • Brittany Russell

Can you explain how you did this? Trying to figure out my shopping trip. Thank you!

      • Renee

How does doing separate transactions save out of pocket when the price is the same?

    • Babs

Just read on Food Lion’s website ( corporate press release) that they will be closing all of the stores in my city, Jacksonville, FL and many other cities. Very disappointed. :(    According to their store closing list, some Bloom and Bottom Dollar stores will be closing as well.

      • Anonymous

Did it say anything about the 2 in St. Augustine?  They just build a new one less than a year ago…

        • Anonymous

Well I looked for my self and they are closing the BRAND new one!  That makes NO sense what so ever to me!!!

          • Spraymom

I know ! They just completely remodeled the one in my area !  It looks great too !   ??

      • Fouract

I have some rain checks  for meat i hope they will honor them. I am in jacksonville also

    • Spraymom

Just posted this, but it didn’t show up . There is a list on the website of the stores closing…..Big list!   All but one in my area are closing….Rossville, Ga and Chattanoga Tn…..:(

    • Guest

Charlottesville VA Food Lion Stores are the worst locations to
redeem Internet coupons. They will not accept any internet coupons based on
stereotypes of customer. I refuse to shop at these locations.

    • Catherine Goodman

I found coupons at BI-LO on a tear pad for $2 off 1 bag of DORITOS (11oz. or larger) when you purchase one Budweiser family 18-pack or larger (cans or bottles).  An 18 pack of Bud Light is usually around $12.99 so $10.99 tomorrow is a good price even before the coupon.

      • Catherine Goodman

Found the same Qs in FL last night on one of the many Bud Light stack-outs.  There were 3 different Qs for beer + another item. on several different stack-outs around the store.  I also found Qs for Coke, Nabisco crackers and another for Fig Newtons.

        • Donna

My FL store had a tear pad in the chip aisle for $1.00/2 bags of Doritos and I didn’t have to buy the beer. LOL.  $1.49 a bag wasn’t bad I thought.

    • Amber R.

Food Lion in Raeford, NC has store brand yogart for $0.22 each. Makes for a pretty awesome deal considering you get $0.25 back for each one.

    • Anonymous

Does anyone know if you can stack a manufacturers coupon with a coupon from the Food Lion website that  you load onto  your MVP card?

      • tsmith1180

I work at food Lion in Va and my store does not let you stack coupons. I guess the only way to find out is to try it.

      • step

my store in SC does let you stack. just check with your manager

    • CoopLady

My food Lion is closing :( So they start the 25% off of everything in the store on Jan 18… Will they honor coupons this day too?? If so that will be a pretty good savings :)

    • SheSqueeks

Am I missing something (excitement) about this sale.I checked prices last Friday-beans were .89, beets .99, vegs. were .89. Unless these prices change,I won’t be stocking up this year. Do the math, even rolling only takes off a few more cents from the 25cents savings. Maybe a little yogurt and biscuits and that’s about all for me. I can beat these prices elsewhere.

    • Kwikzotic

Question: When they run this kind of deal will it last 1 week or 2?  How often do they do it?
