Times are tough and many people are facing financial difficulties. If you are 50+ and currently unemployed, AARP is offering a Free 1 year membership + a Free spouse card.  This can be either for new members or an extension on your current membership.

While it won’t help you put food on the table (that’s what coupons are for!) it does give you access to other special discounts on things like hotels, dining and even cell phone plans.

AARP also has a page for job hunting to help people get back on their feet.
