This week was an off week for me.  Instead of shopping I basically went “un-shopping” and cleaned out every cupboard and pantry.  We are moving in a few weeks and for a stockpile grocery shopper this is a bit of an ordeal.  It’s amazing what can get pushed to the back of a bathroom cabinet.  I found 6 boxes of ThermaCare heat wraps, 10+ tubes of toothpaste, countless sticks of deodorant, at least 10 bottles of body wash and lot more.

For some of these items they are brands that we learned long ago that we don’t like, and I see little need to move with items that we will never use.  So…  I boxed it all up and gave it away!  For the pantry we are going to go on a pantry clean out plan for the next few weeks with the goal of eating things up that we haven’t touched in ages.  Don’t get me wrong the goal is not to clean everything out, it’s important in saving money that you have a small stockpile, we are just going to work on some of the more random items.  I think we have at least 10 boxes of muffin mix, so breakfast this week will be lots of blueberry and cranberry muffins.  On Monday next week I’m sharing a post on menu plans so I’ll share our crazy plans for the next two weeks to tackle 8 bottles of bbq sauce and other oddities of our stockpile.  Other than produce needs, I’m hoping to not shop at all next week either.  We’ll see how the plan goes!
