frugal date friday

School is going to start back before you know it, so for Frugal Date Friday we’re taking a a Family Day Trip! You can pick any place that you haven’t been this summer.

Some fun spots: the beach, a national park, a zoo or museum in another city, or even an amusement park (not so frugal).  You could also go see family members or friends.

Ways To Keep it Cheap

-Pack a cooler with snacks and drinks.  Gas stations kill the budget with $1.50 sodas and $1.25 candy…
-Pack sandwiches and easy meals to eat in the car.  You will save time and money by not stopping for every meal.
-Eat Breakfast before you go
-Stop by the library before you leave and check out books and even videos for the trip!  We have one rule that is crucial – the books never leave the car.  I will not loose a library book in a random spot!

Want to save on gas? Be sure to use fuel rewards and drive your most fuel efficient car. Here are 5 Apps you can use to save money on gas.

Remember, sometimes the most memorable trips are the ones where you’re playing games in the car to make the time pass quicker. So, load up and enjoy the ride!
