This rice recipe is SO easy, but it makes rice that is crazy flavorful and savory. And it’s a perfect Thanksgiving side dish!

It’s called Stick of Butter rice because, well, it uses a whole stick of butter (and a few other pantry ingredients). It would also be great with sliced onions or broccoli added!

Stick of Butter Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 20 oz beef broth
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, cut into slices

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In an 8x8 casserole dish, add the rice, broth, salt, and garlic powder and stir together.
  3. Add the sliced butter evenly over the top of the rice mixture.
  4. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until the moisture is absorbed and the rice is tender.
