great gift to give couponers

You may not know this, but I’ve started getting emails from some of your husbands asking what to give a couponer for Christmas.  Yep, you are married to awesome men that are seeking to find something that you would enjoy!

Well here’s a list of the top books and things that I think most couponers would probably love.

Savings Books

  1. The Tightwad Gazette – A really fun book on saving money on just about everything.  You will find yourself laughing at some of the ideas, but it will leave you with a ton of ideas on cutting your budget.
  2. Miserly Moms – Focusing on living well in a tough economy, this is a quick read that focuses on basics of shopping tips but also great lifestyle savings tips.
  3. Savvy Spending  – A How to Coupon Book for beginners.

Frugal Cookbooks

  1. $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook – 200 recipes that are all easy on the budget and east to make!
  2. One A Month Cooking – A great how to book, with tons of recipes.
  3. Slow Cooker Revolution – From my favorite cooking resource, America’s Test Kitchen, this is 200 amazing recipes to make in a crock pot.

Gadgets and Things

  1. Get them a crock pot and pair it with the cook book above.
  2. A couponer is always storing food, so getting a Food Saver vacuum sealer would be awesome.  These start around $30.
  3. Get a new subscription or extend their subscription to All You Magazine(Has $50+ in coupons in each issue).
  4. If they complain about their printer, check out the Brother 2240 Laser Printer!!
  5. Help them organize their life with a Cansolidator Pantry System!

Cant get the Tightwad book link to open.

      • Sorry about that, just fixed it.

        • Marcie Doll

The Tightwad Gazette has been a staple in my house since the 90’s. It is a little dated, and some of her ideas are extreme…but the principles are all there on how to live frugally. Plus, her any type of muffin recipe is awesome! I don’t think we’ve ever failed a batch! Oh, and we got our copy used…tightwad and environmentally friendly!

    • Marlyn

I actually want a crock pot.  I have one but the knob fell off – it’s still usable, but it would be nice to have two.  I also want a Wii – I think it would be fun for the whole family to play with together.  And I’d like one or two sweaters.  Plus girly pampering is always fun!  And going out on a date is REALLY FUN!

      • Just Jamie

Marilyn, I asked for Wii Games, but put them on my list as “used please.”  You can get some good deals on a used Wii too.  I did mine through a message board, just a thought.

    • Lriddle74

I’m printing this off right now for my hubby!

    • You had me at the cansolidator!  Do we have to be on a mailing list to obtain this deal or can we just go through that link on Black Friday and find it?

      • You can go through that link on Friday and it should be marked down!  I have one and am thinking of getting a few more at that price too :)

        • Alison Akard

Do you have any idea on the shipping for the cansolidator regularly and on Black Friday?

Also, the $5 Dinner Mom cookbook link is not working.

          • Shavon02

Do you think it will go any cheaper on Cyber sales monday???

          • Gamblesonsfarms

shipping up to $70 is 6.99

    • Another great gift would be a newspaper subscription if they don’t already have one :)

      • Mcmurrayfamily

If you get a subscription to the Atlanta Journal Con. it does NOT have the coupons in. Not sure why.

        • Guest

Huh?  Why do you say that?  If you are not getting inserts in your Sunday AJC, you need to let customer service know because somebody is swiping yours.

          • Kelly C

I have seen a few people say that they don’t get coupons in their home delivery and that the customer service has told them that they don’t guarantee it for home delivery. Not sure why.

        • Cajuns023

I subscribe to the AJC and receive the coupons every time.

Thank you Jenny!  My family has been bugging me for my Christmas list and I had been wanting one of the can systems for a while but hadn’t bothered to search around the internet to find where to buy one!

    • Marywkaplan

I love the idea of the CanSolidator….but I have wire-type (criss cross) shelving in my pantry.  Will it stand up on the wire shelving or do you need a flat wooden surface?

      • Karen

If it doesn’t, you can always get some thin sheating to put down under it.  I love these.

      • Mmhall81

Just “installed” the CanSolidator on my wire shelving and it worked great.  There are supports along the bottom and top that snap together with the dividers to keep it all secure and sturdy.  I LOVE IT!

    • jillybean

I need toner for the printer.  Where is the best and cheapest place to buy this.  I only have the starter toner cartridge which lasted forever!  This printer would make a great gift.  I would get the wireless next time since I use a laptop.

    • LoriB

Is there an option (that I’m missing) to email this post??  I’d like to email to my hubby because I could def use a new printer for Christmas!!

      • Jessica

Send him an email:  copy & paste the webpage into the body of the email.  I do this all the time.

    • Gamblesonsfarms

Love this! I definitely am ordering the can consolidator! But I too, am wondering about shipping for it. I have the printer, but am holding out for a deal on the wireless version, please post if you see one, Jenny. These are all great ideas that I would LOVE!

      • Gamblesonsfarms

I added the can consolidator to my cart and shipping up to $70 is 6.99 Not bad, but maybe there are some codes for free shipping or maybe it will be free on Friday.

      • Jessica Dunn

Best Buy has an HP wireless printer on sale on Black Friday for $25, normally $80-ish dollars. I’m going to try to get that one! :D

    • Helper

Any suggestion on what the best coupon storing binder/holder would be for a coupon beginner? a link would be great! THANKS IN ADVANCE!

      • Guest

everybody is different and truthfully what works great for one person may not work well for you.  After using a binder for a while, I went back to the extremely simple method of filing whole inserts and just using a small accordion file for loose coupons.  I plan my shop and clip what I need at that time and I try not to stress if I miss out on a deal every once in a while because I did not have every single coupon with me in the store.  The time that I save doing it this easy way totally makes up for the occasional missed deal.  HTH

    • Ryanwarner270

Where can you get the consolidator?

    • Anonymous

@readers:disqus  my classmate’s mom makes $72 every hour on the internet. She has been unemployed for 3 months but last month her paycheck was $8728 just working on the internet for a few hours. Read about it on this site http://smlk.es/Cash

    • Cekind04

skip the $18 cansolidator & make your own with a recycled soda box (even cover and decorate to snazz it up…

      • Guest

Spoken like a true saver… Thank you for this great tip!

      • kristi

        awesome idea!

    • bgdixie

With the cansolidator, it looks like it would work best if you have a lot of the same kinds of can goods, not so well if you had a few of different varieties.  Is this correct?

      • Anonymous

Correct. It would make getting it out if was a different variety.

    • Gamblesonsfarms

Thanks so much! I enjoyed these different can dispensers!

    • Thanks my hubby needed that list!

    • Terri from Wilmington

Do I need to go to Staples to get the printer on Black Friday or can I get it online?

      • I’m pretty sure it will be online, has been in years past.

      • Stephanie

I just emailed a link to this page to my husband, mom and brother!!!  :)

    • CouponPeg

I am really hoping to get a paper guillotine to cut out multiple pages of coupons with one chop.

    • I just purchased a 7-Quart programable Crockpot at Costco last tonight. It
was $39.99 with a $10 instant MQ. So you pay $29.99 up front and get a
$5 mail in rebate which makes it $24.99. I thought that was a great

      • Anonymous

If you need a smaller one also, or a gift, they have the basic 5qt. crockpot at CVS for 8.88 after ecbs!

    • Lisakathleen

Just ordered my cansolidator(I have to shop for myself…hehehe) and it was $17 and hange each. The shipping is $6.99 though.

      • Range

        It is now showing $18.99 + $6.99 S&H = $25.98
