These recipes for date night at home are easy, yet special enough for a romantic evening.

Going out can be expensive. Especially if you’re going out to your town’s fanciest restaurant to satisfy a night of romance and good food. While I do think there is a time for getting out of the house to spend time with your significant other, it is possible to have spectacular date nights at home!

Date nights at home don’t necessarily have to mean long hours of preparation on a weekend or candles and light music in a dimly lit room. It’s fun when you just make the atmosphere comfortable for the two of you. For me, that means a clean house and eating together at the table. Date nights don’t have to be fussy, they just need to focus on quality time and making each other feel special.

The recipes I’ve chosen are great for weeknights (quick and without a ton of ingredients), but they’re a little bit of a step up from, say, spaghetti or tacos.

The prices listed are based on an average price of what’s on sale this week at various stores and are subject to change weekly.

We have been taking a picnic supper and a board game to a nearby park with tables lakeside one night every week. We find this way more enjoyable and so much quieter and easy to connect with just the two of us. Being right down at the water is comfortable on even the hottest days.

      • That sounds great!

we like going to the farmer’s market and getting fresh fruit and vegetables and having a good home cooked meal with a meat added. dessert is usually something to do with the fruit. then we pick a on demand movie. of course popcorn is included.
