I learned recently that Mr. Coffee was the brand that changed the face of coffee, by creating the first home drip coffee pot. They are still a household name. This is a very budget friendly way to brew coffee, the unit holds all the coffee and dispenses it as you need a cup. This is perfect if you love fresh ground coffee or you have a lot of coffee drinkers in your home! It’s single serve convenience for those who like to brew an entire pot. I started drinking what I call warmed up flavored creamer with a touch of caffeine a few years ago–which basically means I will drag myself out of bed to drink a large mug of coffee (weak) with flavored creamer. I don’t drink it “hot”–I drink it “gulp-able”. I only started drinking coffee as I thought surely I must be missing out on something since SO many people start their day with coffee!

Initially my wake up call was two very vocal Siamese cats who apparently had their own built in alarm clock that screamed “it’s morning, feed me”. God has blessed me two precious “babies” (4 and 2 y/o), so I have a job to do and am thankful for the honor to get up and do it another day! As the only coffee drinker in the house, I drink a pot by myself before lunch it seems. I have really wanted to try one of the newer machines but we are a single income household and cannot afford to get a new coffee maker yet. I also do not currently have a blender so this would be wonderful, my kids love smoothies and milkshakes and we haven’t been able to make them in a while! While I am having my first cup of coffee, usually outside on the patio, my granddaughter arrives. I am truly blessed. All the things I love dearly all in one place, 5 mornings a week, my dog, my daughter, my granddaughter, and my coffee (not in that order though!).

I don’t sleep very well at all. I usually only get about 2-4 hours and then I go ALL day long until about 4 when I drop. In the mornings, I wake up and have a mug of coffee ready from the night before. Pop it in the microwave and sip until it’s dry. By then, I’m typically headed out shopping for bargains, so I stop at the Speedway down the road and get a fill up in my 32 ounce mug…yep I drink it all. I think I’m addicted and would love the products here, especially the coffee maker.

I get my smoothies ready by putting all the fruit and yogurt in ziploc bags and putting them in the freezer. Then, all i have to do is throw that frozen cube of fruit and yogurt in the blender, add some fruit juice or milk and blend away. I like to put black berries, strawberries, banana and vanilla yogurt in the ziplocs. You can make a lot of these ahead of time and it makes it so easy to get your fruit in the morning!

Seriously, you got to jump right out of the bed and head to the bathroom to get the day started. Also, turning on a dim light or lamp always seems to help. Another practice is that I set my alarm clock to a hour before I wake up so that I can “legitimately” go back to sleep for another hour and wake back up in peace.
