(the going price on Amazon if $174, so this is pretty awesome!)

Man too bad we just bought the 149 ds at Toys R Us

    • THANK YOU!!!! This is a GREAT deal! Sooooo glad I was able to snag one for my kid’s January Birthday!

    • Garretosgal

Do you know how long the sale will be going for?

      • I honestly have no clue, sorry.

      • heather

This deal is in their weekly ad as well….so it’s for the next week at least! hth

    • Deniseallison33

How do you apply the gift card to your purchase? I added the DS and the gift card (which rang up free) but my total is still 170.

      • Sorry for the confusion, the gift card is to use on your next Best Buy purchase.

      • Deniseallison33

I guess the 119 is taking in account that you get a free $50 gift card. You are still going to have to pay $180 upfront–the gift card will be mailed with your purchase to use in the store later. Atleast that is the only way I can figure it out.

Thanks!!  I held off purchasing the bundle at Target today for $199.  This is just the deal I was looking for!!

    • Lizbeth5612

Hope it is still good on Friday.

      • I just ran in and grabbed a red one, $201 with the $20 insurance – and they said the sale lasts all week :)

    • ShellyBell

Well, technically, you have to pay $189 (with tax) and you get a $50 gift card to spend on something else.  Still a better deal than what I’ve seen.

In case anyone has a girl who wants a pink 3DS, Toys R Us released a new Metallic Rose 3DS today.  It is bundled with a Nindogs game and sells for 169.99.  You then get a free Bobble Head Stylus and a $40 gift card to use on a future purchase.  After the GC is figured in, it is like getting the console, game and stylus for $130…pretty good deal to me!

I guess they are having to almost give these away because of the bad reviews.  I bet the 3D without glasses is cool though!  I bet the next model of this will be sweet!

I’m planning to get a handheld game console like this for my son’s birthday in April, so I’m just starting to do some research.  So should I wait until the new model comes out then?

        • I doubt a new model will come out in the next year or two – unless you’re looking for a new PSP. The 3DS gets icky reviews because of the 3D, which really isn’t great, but you can turn off the 3D and lock it as a parent. Nintendo recommends you not let a child under 6 play with 3D enabled because it can mess up the development of their eyes or something!

        • flower_mom

The newer models won’t be out by April, so if you want the 3ds then this is a good price.  I think other handheld models are better and have better games, unless you just want the 3D.  If you want the 3D, then get the 3ds.  :)  HTH

Just for the record I played the demo game at Target on the 3DS and I was surprised at how good the 3D was on the Starfox game. Yeah, it doesn’t compete with the nice tv”s but that’s ok it’s not a tv, it’s a handheld for $169

Whenever I plan on buying any electronics, I always go to Cnet and check out the reviews. Amazon reviews are a good place to start, but nothing beats a total review written by computer and electronic geeks who know all about the pros/cons of gaming devices, tv’s, phones, software downloads and even vacuum cleaners! LOL I’d see what they say about the different gaming devices (old, new and upcoming) and go from there. It really helped me decide if a Roku was right for our family.

yeah check out the new Wii U, it will be the next, they didn’t bring it out this year because of marketing.  they didn’t want it to compete with the 3ds

    • When I was at TRU the gcard was $40, but they have pink if anyone wants it! I heard bad reviews about the 3D part, but remember you can shut the 3D off and use it just like a new dsi or ds! There are parental controls so you can lock the 3D off too ;)

    • Softballdiva

I just saw this, is it good today also or just yesterday?

    • Angeltuc

Does anyone know if you can still get the GC?

    • Elizabethconner

I went to Target this morning and got one they are running the same deal. Plus Jenny posted a coupon for a $10 gift card with a $50 purchase. So what I did was printed off 2 of the coupons. I bought the 3DS then I got 2 games and still ended up with a $10 gift card. In total I paid 185 for the 2 games and the 3ds
