Some days getting kids to eat their vegetables can feel like an uphill battle. While the goal is to help your kids learn to enjoy a variety of foods (including veggies!), in the meantime you might need some help getting healthy foods in them while you work on that.
Here are some meals and snacks that are easier to hide vegetables in. Try these suggestions, or get creative and let us know what ideas you come up with!
Smoothies
Smoothies are probably the first idea that comes to mind for an easy way to get greens in your kids’ diets. If your kids are suspicious of a smoothie that looks “too healthy” (i.e. too green!), start with an all-fruit smoothie and then add small amount of greens every day. Bonus points if you call them milkshakes!
Sauces
My kids never turn down a pasta dish. Try blending veggies up and mixing them into your pasta sauces! Think cauliflower in alfredo sauce, or carrots or sweet potatoes in marinara sauce.
Meatballs
Take the pasta idea a step farther and finely chop or puree veggies and add them to your meatballs.
