Consignment sale season is upon is! I am a huge consignment sale fan. You can get pretty much anything you need for kids for a faction of the price. Once you realize you can get a toy that is $10 on Amazon for $2, you’ll be hooked too.

In my experience, not all sales are created equal. Some have much better selection and better prices. Whether you are planning to shop, sell, or volunteer here is a round-up of Southern Savers reader’s favorite sales. Use this list to help trim down your options to make the most of your time and money.

      My Top Consignment Sale Tips:

-Volunteers and cosigners usually get to shop first so look into those options

-Look at the price on everything (two toys may be identical but one may be half the price)

      -Check for stains and holes

-Test everything you can to make sure it works correctly

-Don’t buy puzzles if someone has taped directly on the picture

-Shop boys clothes first (there are usually fewer options)

-Take a list of what you need and what sizes

-Measure your child’s foot and take the measurement with you

Here are even more shopping tips.

This post is sponsored by Mirum, but opinions expressed are my own.

Making plans for Valentine’s Day? Here’s a low cost idea to give your husband… tell him you want a night off with friends.  I can’t remember the last time I had one, and I’m probably not the only one.

You don’t have to do anything big, just hangout, let your hair down and skip the lipstick.  You could actually go all out and have a makeup free night completely! These are your people… relax and just be you.

Grab a few things this week at CVS and everyone can feel like they are at a spa night with you.  CVS has Simple Face Care on sale buy one get one 50% off this week through 2/16. (plus some of you have coupons in your CVS account for extra savings on facial care).

Get a pack of Simple Face wipes and a bottle of Simple Micellar Water and you are set. Both of these are perfect for taking off your makeup and having a night in.  Simple products are a favorite of mine because they are all hypoallergenic and contain no artificial perfumes, dyes or harsh chemicals and are perfect for sensitive skin.

A little bit about both of them in case you aren’t familiar:

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes, 25 ct.
Perfect for when you’re on the go, they fit in your purse and can help if you need a quick touchup or just need to feel refreshed. The Simple Wipes remove impurities and makeup, including water-proof mascara without any need to rinse your face afterwards,

Simple Micellar Cleansing Water, 13.5 oz
The most advanced facial cleanser to date in the Simple skincare line, yet it is gentle on even the most sensitive skin.  Micellar Cleansing Water cleans the skin of dirt and impurities and unclogs pores – it is even formulated for makeup removal.  It also instantly boosts skin’s hydration by 90%.

Micellar Water has become a big hit in the US over the last few years, but you may not realize it’s been around for a very long time in Europe.  There is no need to rinse after you use it, so it’s perfect if you mess up on your makeup and only need to spot clean, or if you are wanting to refresh your look without redoing all of your makeup.  It’s also great to wake up with, cleaning your entire face without doing a harsh soap.
