I’m going into week three of no sugar or bread… “they” say that you stop craving things, but I think it’s all a lie.  Watching my kids eat ice cream the other night I’m pretty sure I sat there drooling.  When I do get a taste though everything is crazy sweet.  It’s interesting how desensitized our taste buds get.

This week will be the first big test of how we do on the diet when other people are in charge of cooking and planning.  We have a big troop campout over the weekend with meals planned out for everyone.  I’m thinking it’s going to mean bringing along our own snacks and small items to make sure we get full since potato chips and other things aren’t going to work.

Chicken Kabobs (in Oven)

Going for an easy meal tonight that everyone will love.  Rather than dealing with the grill, these are great in the oven.  For the adults and big girls I’ll add zucchini and green peppers to the skewers but the littles don’t care about those veggies so they will get green beans probably.

Dinner at Moe’s

Someone in our house turns 6 this week!  We typically let them eat out for their birthday and thankfully Moe’s tends to be the request.  So we will splurge for the night and celebrate.

Moe’s is probably one of the easiest restaurants to eat at on a Keto diet.  Here’s what we do:

Get a bowl and add in any meat you want.    We order double meat since my husband and I will split it.
Add in grilled onions and peppers, chopped romaine, bacon, sour cream, guac, and cheese.   Total is about 11-13 carbs for the whole bowl (cut in half for frugal folks who share).
