We had a great trip this week to CVS and Publix. I had a number of ExtraCare Bucks from past weeks and from CVS app issues (a story a shared a few weeks ago). Most of those ECB’s were set to expire this weekend, and since they are gone after the expire I set out to grab all the deals we could possibly use!
A tip for anyone else in this boat, if the item is free think of it as a way to refresh your ECB. I had $45, so for example grabbing a Square Card Reader for $9.99 that gives $9.99 ECB means that ExtraCare buck that was about to expire is now good for a whole other month. I can probably use the reader too… but we’ll see.
After CVS store coupons, manufacturer coupons and ExtraCare bucks my total due was 1¢!! I bought it all in one transaction, but still had so much that a line had formed behind me. As I paid my penny the line cheered. It was a very fun moment and one that my girls are still talking about. Thanks sweet people in CVS for helping my kids see that mama saving money is a good thing!
We also have $52 in ECB for our next trips. I haven’t kept this many rewards ever… so here’s to more big fun trips!
I left CVS and headed to Publix. I know the grocery store will never be as fun as the drugstores. With the amount of fruit my little ones eat, and yogurt my husband loves my goal in the grocery store is to at least save half. We did that this week and then some!
Publix Totals:
Total Value Purchased: $174.03
Total Spent: $85.14
Total Saved: $88.89
Mobile Apps Back After: $8
With the mobile apps it brings down our total to $77.14. This even included a carton of full price Blue Bell Ice Cream. It was their first week back in South Carolina and after waiting over a year I just couldn’t wait for the sale!
