This has been a busy week as everyone started back with their school work and activities. Weeks like this make me so thankful for our pantry stockpile. Not only did we have items for our own meals, we were also able to make a few sides for a covered dish lunch at Church and a meal for a family with a new baby without having to run out for items we needed.
I also stayed home for another reason. I realized early in the week that we are out of chicken. That probably seems like a strange reason, but we buy our meat in bulk so it’s a larger purchase. Normally I get it from Zaycon (and already have an order set for the next Chicken delivery) but they aren’t coming with Chicken until March. We can’t wait till March so all of this weeks grocery budget will go towards a case of chicken from our local restaurant supply store, US Foods Chef Store. They have fresh boneless skinless chicken for around $1.49 lb or about $60 for a case of 40 lbs.
So I come with no fun stories of how much we saved using coupons, just how much we saved because we stayed home!
