A New Publix Flyer starts today in all stores. This is the Green Advantage Flyer, though they no longer really call it that. The main reason to grab the flyer is to get all the coupons inside!
This time there is a page of manufacturer coupons that can be used at any store. In all honesty you will get much better deals to use them with Drugstore deals that come up in the next few weeks. I did grab the prices for these items at Publix if you want to use them there.

It’s hard to believe we are already two months into this year! Looking at our budget so far for the year, things have been going great. Eating out of the pantry for almost the whole month of January put us way ahead. We hve enjoyed using some of that cushion to get restocked with the Publix Italian Days sales. I also ran to Food Lion for a few things, which was the first time in I don’t know how long. The Food Lion trip wasn’t because they had great deals, it was really because they are now the closest grocery store to us (though still 15 minutes away).

In the end for the week we were over budget by $19. This week had to events we were hosting, a Romans 12 Hospitality Tea and a 5 year old birthday party. So, to come in close to budget and grab everything we needed… I’m quite pleased!

I know that there are going to be a lot of happy kids when they hear that Veggie Tales is coming out with a new DVD in March! The Little House That Stood is about three builders who build houses in different ways and the pigs who occupy the houses. It’s a twist on the classic story that we all grew up hearing, and it teaches kids about making good decisions in a fun way that they can relate to. One builder builds with hay, one with sticks and one with bricks. It emphasizes building on a solid foundation.
Veggie Tales sent us a DVD to review and it’s no surprise that my girls absolutely loved it! They said it ranked up in their favorite of Veggie Tales with Robin Good and His Not So Merry Men. That’s high praise coming from them! They thought it was really funny and the songs were great. One of them said that her favorite part was when the pig answered, “Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin.” We even wet over this discussion guide about the movie to talk about what they got out of it.
