The US Postal Service is raising the cost of a stamp again. The price of first class stamps is increasing from 45¢ to 46¢. This represents a 2.2% increase in price. It may not sound like much, but the old saying a penny saved is a penny earned rings true here.
Take this opportunity to think about how many stamps you will use over the next year and beyond. Remember that we want to stock up when the price is low and since stamps are one of the few things in life that never goes on sale – this is the best price we will see.
A book of 20 stamps costs $9 now and that will rise to $9.20 with the change.
If you have a wedding, invitations, Christmas Cards or anything else you plan to send in bulk – grabbing forever stamps now will save you a lot of money in the long run!
