This is part of an ongoing guest post series on DISNEY WORLD SAVINGS, written by a life long Disney lover.
It’s been a running theme through these posts that you must build all the value you can with each decision on your vacation. These decisions do include cutting costs, but there are times where you can build a ton of value in your vacation (I.E Park Hopper for some) that may cost extra. So, in light of trying to build value, I’m going to try and share all of my tips and experience on the parks so that you don’t have to waste any time figuring out what to do. My way is certainly not the only way, so I’d love for y’all to leave comments below about your experiences. Read More→
Part of stocking your pantry is having lots of versatile ingredients at the ready for your favorite recipes. I don’t know about you, but even though I strive to be organized, sometimes we run out of a key item or buy too much of something else. I’m all for being creative to use up extra bits and pieces…I just normally try not to do it when company is coming over.
Hungry Jack sent over a few of their most popular products and some out of the box recipe ideas too. The recipe that called my name is their Peanut Butter Buckeyes. These cute desserts incorporate two of my favorite ingredients: peanut butter and chocolate, and an unexpected surprise — Hungry Jack Instant Mashed Potatoes!
If you’ve been couponing a while, these are probably all ingredients you have on hand. And even though the recipe didn’t call for them, we can’t do dessert in our house without sprinkles….
My girls loved these and they had no idea there were mashed potatoes in them.

Do the words “Home Mailer” next to coupons in your match ups drive you crazy??
There are lots of coupons that are sent directly from stores or manufacturers to our homes. I know it can be frustrating to see these listed and not have them, so here are a few tips of how to increase your mailbox coupon stash.
Sign up for online samples. Many samples come with coupons, and these companies will keep your name for possible future mailings and offers. Procter & Gamble is the best at sending you presents you never expected! I post freebies and samples almost daily, so keep an eye on the list and sign up for anything you may use.
Sign up for Viral Media Sample sites. They want folks who will help spread the word about the brands they are representing. Most have requirements they are looking for so you may not qualify but if you do they send awesome samples and coupons! All are free to join.
Sign up for e-mail newsletters from manufacturers that you are loyal to. You are letting them know that you love their brand and they will gladly send you offers and special promotions. This is through a contact form on many websites. You can also get these same coupons from calling brands you love. Most brands always sends coupons to folks that call and ask for them!
Go to your Grocers Website and sign up for an online account.
This is something most stores offer now. Get a My Bi-Lo, My Kroger, My CVS etc… account. This is a free online account and a great way to make sure that your shoppers card has the right mailing and contact information for you. They will use your shopping history from your card to send coupons so make sure they have the right address!
If you live in AL, GA, FL, SC or TN, then sign up for the Publix Free Magazines and Clubs. They have coupons inside of them and come 4 times a year. You are also putting your name and address in the Publix system which increases your chances of other home mailers.
Some “Home Mailers” are really internet freebie coupon booklets. Sign up for these when you see them.
- Home Made Simple (all P&G products) – click on the cascade coupons
- Home Made Simple – click on the Dawn coupon at the bottom
- Publix Stocking Spree booklet. All store coupons, sign up once and get numerous booklets throughout the year.
I will warn you, getting some home mailers from select stores (Kroger and Target being the two biggest) is a mystery that remains unsolved by most of us. I’ve heard many say that if you get a Target credit card or create a Target registry that it will trigger coupon booklets to come. I’ve tried both… and never gotten a coupon. For Kroger booklets you can call and beg to be put on the mailing list, but you really will find that some areas advertised heavier than others. If your store is not in a heavy advertising area, you’ll probably never get a booklet no matter how frequently you shop there. For these two stores, don’t get frustrated if the coupons just don’t come.
Do you have any other tips for getting home mailer coupons?
