We have started a family tradition every year of heading the Callaway Lights. Last year we had to take heavy quilts, mittens, hats and more to stay warm but it’s worth it!!
Right now you can grab a buy one get one free deal for adult tickets at Callaway Garden’s Fantasy in Lights with the coupon code HTW. These tickets are regularly $22 during a prime night and $16 during a value night.
Children 5 and under are free!
Fantasy in Lights is open until 12/30. Head here to buy tickets and for more information.
We are actually headed there this coming Sunday night at 8pm if you want to join us on a tram ride through the park!
(thanks Emily!)
If you’re big on the pig then I’ve got some new updates for you.
They introduced two new features recently.
1. Piggly Wiggly has expanded their Click’n Shop online shopping service to 27 additional stores across South Carolina and Georgia. What’s really neat about this is that you can redeem all coupons, Greenbax, and weekly specials for online purchases. You pick out what you want, and then they get your groceries together. All you have to do is swing in and pick up your bags! They also have waived, for a limited time, the $5 online shopping fee for first time users.
2. Piggly Wiggly has brought back Greenbax for Gift Cards. Some of you may have used this in the past, but it is a 1 for $1 Greenbax value. This means that shoppers can claim a $10 gift card for 10 Greenbax or $15 for 15, and so on. These can be gift cards to tons of local stores or gas stations!
(One note: Every time I post Pig news I get floods of emails asking for them to be on Southern Savers… sadly I cannot cover Piggly Wiggly. Each store has different sale prices and items and it would cause you and me too much frustration.)
Today, Gap.com is running 50% off select jeans! Both the Men’s Department and Women’s Department are having this sale, with jeans starting at $22.99.
No coupon code is required and you can get FREE shipping on purchases over $50.
Shop through Ebates and get 2% cash back.
If you would rather shop in-stores, Gap is having B1G1 50% off any pair of jeans!
Even better, share this deal with a friend and get a $5 off any denim purchase coupon sent to your inbox or your phone.
Don’t miss even more In Store Coupons.
Board games are the ultimate family night in our house! Hasbro is currently offering 20% off popular board games like Candy Land, Monopoly, Scrabble Junior. Use the coupon code FNF20FS at checkout to see the discount. Most of the games are a lot less than you would pay at your local store (starting at $8.99) and the shipping is free too!
Some of the games are already out of stock, so don’t wait too long if you want to taking advantage of this deal.
The holidays are a wonderful time of year for many of us filled with family, friends and cheer. We all get busy during this season and it can be easy to forget that there are lots of folks out there struggling to make ends meet.
One of my very favorite benefits of couponing is the ability to stretch your dollar so far that it makes it easier to give to those in need. I’ll be honest, I’m the first one in the checkout line to decline donating the bag of food the store put together because I know I could donate 4 times as much using my coupons!
The key is not to forget to set aside items & really make an effort to get it to a food bank in a timely way. This can be a great lesson for kids and it really brings a sense of purpose to the season beyond the parties, cookies and gifts.
I hear lots of stories from you all about families in need and while I can’t help each one individually, I hope that as a group the Southern Savers community can pull together and make sure your local Food Banks and shelters are stocked during this season.
To get started
- Grab a box and head to your pantry to pull out items your family won’t use before the expiration date.
- As you make your shopping list, add in a few inexpensive items and put them your donation box when you get home.
- Set a budget, goal and timeline for dropping of your items.
- Don’t forget to ask for a donation receipt while you are there.
- If you can’t afford to donate goods, consider volunteering for a few hours each week instead.
