One of the biggest problems to following grocery sales on a six week cycle is storage. For most items we are buying 2-3 of each product but with can foods we might be grabbing 10-15 cans to get through the next 6 weeks. Cans take up a ton of room and by the time I have them all stacked I can’t see how many I have or even what different things we have.
A Solution:
Eden from Shelf Reliance sent me two Cansolidator Pantry units to try out so I could let you guys know how they work!
I didn’t realize just how many cans of food I had until I got this handy device. I received the Cansolidator Pantry Plus and the Cansolidator Cupboard. The Cansolidator Pantry Plus holds about 60 cans of food and the Cansolidator Cupboard holds about 20 cans. The great thing about these units is that you can adjust each section for different size cans. I was able to get all of our vegetables, tomatoes and soup cans in both systems and everything looks so organized!
Organization is only part of the design though. The other thing that this helps with is rotating your cans so that the oldest can is the first used. You add cans from the top and then take from the bottom of each section. Not that can food expires quickly, but at least this way you are confident that nothing will go bad.
You may be tempted to go for the huge food rotation systems, but just remember that you only need enough storage to last until your next 6 week cycle.
Right now you can actually get the 40 can Cansolidator for only $21.92 (52% off)!
After all of this, I think I’ve come to two conclusions: having a more organized pantry is awesome, and I don’t need to buy anymore canned green beans for a couple months.
The Giveaway:
Eden is giving away 2 Cansolidator Pantry Plus units (1 to each winner).
