If you drink Coca-Cola products you should be saving them for points in the My Coke Rewards program.  If you aren’t we forgive you and you can start now.  Save the bottle caps or tear out sections of 12pks and enter the codes on them on the My Coke Rewards site.

If you drink diet coke then start saving them now and on October 28th any codes you enter that day from Diet Coke products will get double points!

There are a ton of things you can earn with these points, my favorite is printable coupons for more soda!

      mambosprouts

There are new Mambo Sprouts coupon books out! Whenever new booklets come out they send me a batch to giveaway to readers. These are the fall booklets with over $35 dollars in coupons!

If you want to guarantee yourself a booklet you can sign up on Mambo Sprouts website to get a booklet in the mail 4 times a year. They also have great printable coupons for organic products.

Also if you live in the Mid Atlantic area of the US check out the nearest Go Mambo Tour location.  They give out even more coupons and freebies when you catch them in person!

I have 10 of the new booklets, and will pick 10 winners so we can spread them around a little further.

To enter leave a comment.  You don’t even have to say anything special.  I will pick winners on Thursday.

          New Red Plum Coupons

          redplum

Every Sunday Red Plum loads new coupons (or for the past few months they have anyway).  Here is what they loaded yesterday.

You can always get to these coupons on the right hand side of Southern Savers.

$1 off Del Monte Fruit Chillers

          .50/1 Hostess Snack Cakes (B1G1 at Bi-Lo)

          $2 off Neutrogena Face Cosmetics

          $1/2 StarKist Pouch Products

.50/1 StarKist Sandwich-Ready Tuna Salad Pouch (these are less than $1.50 reg. at most stores)

          A few other new coupons:

          .50/2 Domino Sugar Products
          .75/1 Red Star Yeast Jar
.35/1 Red Star Yeast 3 strip

            kroger1

I had a very crazy walk through Kroger tonight with over 100 youth doing  a scavenger hunt.  By the end of my trip I think I told at least 15 kids where Spam was, and another 10 ask to help me with my groceries (I didn’t have anything except a clip board).

There were a number of unadvertised deals though, including a better Pillsbury Breads deal than last week!  See the full list here.

Do you need Candy for any upcoming events??

            microsoft-powerpoint-slide-1

Starting next Sunday 10/18-10/31, Buy $25 in Hershey’s Candy at Kroger and get $5 off your next trip

            -$1/3 Hershey’s Snack size Bags SS 9/27
B3G1 Hershey’s Snack Size Bags SS 10/18 (coming next Sunday)

I don’t know the prices yet of these bags but with the two coupons together and the savings coupon this might make for some of the best “late October” candy prices you will find.

            (thanks “Lil Birdie”!)

              Menu Plans Publix & Kroger

              on 10.9.2009 at 9:00am
              32 Comments

I have a lot of questions about menu planning, I confess that we don’t plan our menu’s off of the weekly ads.  My pantry is a small version of the grocery store so I don’t need to plan based on this weeks sales.  I’m also just not a menu girl.  I’m the person that has to bring extra pairs of clothes on a trip because I might change my mind.

Menu Planning is something that many of you do, so I have enlisted the help of one of my best friends.  She is the ultimate menu planner in my mind.  I’m always talking coupons and she is always sharing whats at home in her crock pot or oven.  (I secretly strive to be her, but I know my limits.)

Without further adeu here is Amy’s Menu Ideas for the week.  Our goal, pick things where the main ingredients are on sale, hopefully you have the staple ingredients from past sale weeks.

              This weeks splurge: Gouda Cheese

Beef Ravioli in Basil Cream Sauce
              Celentano Ravioli $1.99
              Hunt’s Tomatoes with chilies $0.19
              Kraft Grated Parmesan $2.50

              **or**

              Tuscan Pasta with Tomato-Basil Cream
              Celentano Ravioli – $1.99
Classico Sundried Tomato Alfredo Sauce  – $0.74
              Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes $0.19
**for added protein add Chicken Breast

Chicken with Grapes, Couscous and Asparagus
              Chicken Breast $1.99 lb
              Swanson Broth $0.29
              Grapes $1.49 lb
              Asparagus $2.49 lb

Mac & Cheddar Cheese with Chicken and Broccoli
Boneless Chicken Breast $1.99 lb (at Kroger)
              Ronzoni Elbow Macaroni $0.19
              Eat Smart Brocolli Florets $1
              Swanson Chicken Broth $0.29
              (3) Cabot Cheddar Cheese 8 oz $1.33 or (1) Kroger Cheddar Cheese 24oz $3.99

Beef Burritos & Beef BBQ (2 meals from the same roast)
              Sirloin Tip Roast $2.99 lb

*note about cheese – When blocks of cheese are on sale, stock up.  You can shred it yourself, getting more cheese for your money.  Two 8 ounce blocks of cheese = about 4 cups shredded.  I shred it and put it in the freezer.  I have not noticed any textural or taste change doing this.  Freeze up to 3 months.

This brings me to my very prized macaroni and cheese recipe.  This is the best macaroni and cheese I’ve ever made.  Once you’ve tried it you can play around with the cheeses.

              Smoked Gouda Macaroni & Cheese
start with this recipe and add:
              16oz Bacon Fried and Chopped
              Substitute Cheddar Cheese with Gouda
**if you are sticking with Cheddar, substitute the 10oz package for 8oz (it’s impossible to find a 10oz size)
