Just giving you a heads up that I have loaded new workshops that have plenty of open spots.
If you are near Thomasville GA, or Charleston SC don’t miss out. I am also working on classes in Greenville SC and plan to return to Atlanta May 9th so keep checking back for those workshops.
I’m excited to bring you a new side to Southern Savers. I am teaming up with Christy from Southern Plate. We are going to teach Southern Plate how to save money on groceries and they are going to teach us fabulous recipes to use the items we have stockpiled! It will be great to add a gourmet flare to all of our free groceries and hopefully we can gain a few more converts to the right way of shopping.
To get us started… How many cans of biscuits do you have filling up your freezer (yes canned biscuits freeze great) and fridge?? Here are two great ideas to turn all those biscuits into something delicious.
You will need:
- Canned Biscuits
- Sugar Free Instant Jello
- Lite Cool Whip
- Vegetable Oil
- Milk (she uses Skim or Low fat)
- Chocolate Frosting
These are reported to taste better than Krispy Kreme. That sold me! Go here to see Christy’s directions. You will see step by step what to do, or scroll to the bottom to see just the recipe.
You will need:
- Canned Biscuits
- Vegetable Oil
- Margarine
- Cinnamon
- Sugar
My kids will love these! Don’t have a doughnut holer thingy do? Check out her tip of what else you can use. You have no excuses now. Go here to see Christy’s directions. You will see step by step what to do, or scroll to the bottom to see just the recipe. I plan to also do these with just powdered sugar, we have a lot of that lying around from the .16 cent sale last December…
It’s Monday and I try to always give you something to make Monday a little brighter.

Happy March! In celebration of each month we get more coupons. I love the first of the month!!
Coupons.com has loaded a ton of General Mills Coupons, these lasted a few weeks last month before hitting the print limits so don’t wait, print now. A few that I saw:
.35/1 any Pillsbury Sweet Rolls (this coupon works on any Pillsbury canned roll item)
$1 off V8 juice – these go B1G1 a lot at Publix
$1 off Savorings
.50/1 Betty Crocker Cookie Mix – will make it free on sale
.40/1 BC Boxed Potatoes – will make it free on sale
and more…
SmartSource coupons have also loaded some of the same General Mills coupons if you want more.
Food Lion coupons are wonderful and I don’t even shop at Food Lion. There is a whole new set that I have added to the running list of coupons. Most expire 3/31 and a few are manufacturer coupons (though most stores still enter these as competitor coupons because they do not scan).
Here is the list:
.55 off (1) Quaker Instant Oatmeal or Oats
$1 off (1) Quaker Fiber & Omega 3 Bars
$1 off Hidden Valley Ranch 16oz or larger
.75 off any Orville Redenbaucher’s Smart Pop Pop Corn
$1 off General Mills Banana Nut Cheerios
$1 off any Vaseline product 10z or larger
.65 off and Wish-Bone Salad Dressing
$1 off (1) Egg Beaters
.50/1 Shedd’s Country Crock Spread
$1 off any (1) Slim-Fast Optima Shakes
While nothing is on sale this week at Publix, their is one match up with Food Lion deals. The Orville Pop corn is B1G1 at Food Lion this week, this coupon makes it .75 cents each.
Got kids in diapers? Go print these now, before they are gone! Hit your back arrow button to print each twice.
$5 off Huggies Gentle Care
$3 off Huggies Natural Fit
Both are good for any size package.
**Note this says good for any Gentle Care Product or Natural Fit Product. Looking at the bar code these coupons will not work with wipes, they will however work for any type of Huggies Diapers or Pants.
Why? The code is the same product code as the coupons in Sunday inserts for any diapers. The code is also the same product code for both coupons. The code is not the same product code for Huggies Wipes coupons found in Sunday inserts and home mailers.**
Now that we covered that, here are some deals.
Print them now, and save these for a $9.99 Kroger sales and pair them with an e coupon… you could get a pack of Huggies for $3.49
Another sale coming up:

I am so excited to announce that you can now print Smart Source coupons right from Southern Savers!
You can go here to print them, but let me teach you where they are too:
Look in the top left corner of the screen, hold your mouse over “Printable Coupons” and magically there is a little button for them. Not to hard.
These are the same coupons off of their main site, but now you don’t have to go anywhere. I have also included some tips for printing Smart Source coupons on that page below the coupons. If you are having issues, try out tip #2, it has worked wonders for me!! If you have any other tips that have helped you, email me and I will add them to the list.
**Just to let you know… Printing from Southern Savers does help to support this site (which makes my husband feel a little better about not having any clean clothes).**
I got my “Eat Better America” coupon booklet in the mail today! It’s almost as fun as present. Here are some of the coupons inside:
$1 off any Muir Glen (yes I’m heading to Publix to use this, this week)
$1 off any Cascadian Farm item
$1 off Multigrain Cheerios
$1 off Green Giant 19-24oz Bagged Veges (on sale at Kroger this week!)
$1 off Fiber One Yogurt packs (also on sale at Kroger!)
and more.
Are you new to couponing and havent signed up for this booklet yet? It’s free and should arrive in about 4 weeks. Click the image to get yours.
