This month at CVS, Crest Pro Health Whitening is Free after ECB’s. The advertised limit is 2, but in reality it appears to be a limit of 4. This is being reported nationwide, (I just bought mine tonight and was able to get more).
If you have the $1 off Pro Health Coupon from PG 11/02 this makes this a money maker so get your extra care bucks and stock up on toothpaste!
How do you know this? After checking out look at your receipt and it will say “Offer Limit Reached” once you have purchased the limit.
The Prescription Game
A great way to make a prescription into a money saver is to move your prescription from pharmacy to pharmacy following the incentives. Every drugstore lately is competing (fighting) for your business. If you have insurance that gives you lots of places you can fill prescriptions then take advantage of the deals and rack up the savings!
Here is how we play:
We have 1 prescription that gets filled every month, I pay a $10 copay no matter where I fill it and our insurance is with a huge company so just about everyone in our city accepts it. Each month I move my prescription to the store that is currently offering a gift card for a transferred or new prescription. Most stores you can transfer back a month later and get another gift card.
To give you an idea of the savings here is where our prescription has gone in the last 5 months and what we have gotten (we have been doing this for years):
June: Target $10 GC
July: Rite Aid $30 GC
August: CVS $25 GC
Sept: Walgreens $25 GC
October: Publix $25 GC
Total we have paid $50 for our 5 copays and made $115 in gift cards!!
It is time to fill it again and yesterday in the mail I got a $25 check from Walgreens begging me to transfer my prescription back to them. Okay!!
Want to get started? Search for current gift card promotions at pharmacies such as Walgreens or CVS, there is usually at least one giving an incentive for you to switch your prescription to their pharmacy.
How do you transfer a prescription? Take your prescription package/bottle and your insurance card to the new pharmacy, they will do all the work for you.
Tip: CVS will honor most stores gift card offers just to keep your prescription so you can always find one and take it in when you get your refills.
Artscow, one of many online photo printing places is running a great promotion.
Sign up and get 1200 free prints (100 per month for a year). If you sign up before 11/17 you can also use this code “FREE40PHOTOCARDS” and get 20 – 4×8 Photocards and 20 – 5×7 photocards FREE.
If you are like me and are soooo not ready to make your holiday cards, sign up and then go to “My Account”, click on Credit and Discounts. There is a box to enter a code or giftcard, enter the code above and click validate and it will add the code to your account. This will give you until 12/06 to order the cards and still get the deal!!
In the past I have tried to go cheap and make ours printing our own pictures and attaching them to card stock, but this works for me.
I have updated the look of the Food Lion printables page and have loaded the new coupons for this week. I would love feedback if this is easier to see or more difficult…
There are lots of coupons out right now for random products so make sure if it’s on your list to grab the coupon.
For Publix shoppers: You can use Food Lion product coupons towards the purchase of Publix housebrand items. Ex: You want Publix housebrand pie shells, use the Food Lion coupon to get $1 off 2. The coupons that are for specific Food Lion Brand names like “Taste of Inspiration” etc. don’t work at Publix — they confuse cashiers too much. Just use ones for generic products, i.e. Sugar, Pie Shells, Toaster Pastries, 12pk soda .
Not only do you get the free doughnut, ice cream and coffee I already mentioned, here are some other deals for anyone wearing an I voted sticker:
Get a free Chicken Sandwich from Chik-fil-A Nov 4 and then if you turn in a yard sign get another Sandwich Nov 5. (up to local stores to participate so check first, many in the south are participating)
Get another free cup of coffee at Books a Million. (nationwide)
Bring in an election sign and get a Free appetizer with purchase of an entree at any Sticky Fingers from Nov. 5 – Nov. 12th (-thanks Becca!)
Whatever order you make the rounds in you will be required to give up your sticker at Chik-fil-A so get a back up when you vote if you want to load up on the free stuff!
I think my kids are going to love voting even more now, not only do we vota at a fire station but doughnuts, and ice cream… (and coffee for me!)
Printing Coupons
It seems that printable coupons are becoming the best money saver out there. Their values are typically higher than coupons in the Sunday paper, and you can usually get more than one without having to buy more papers. There are two things about printable coupons that make people afraid of them: difficulty of use and difficulty printing. Let me try to help with both issues.
First: Of all the stores in my area there is only one store that I know of that does not take printed coupons and that is Rite Aid. There are always rumors out that stores are going to stop taking them or people have experiences with bad clerks and are told that they can not take them, but as a whole most corporate policies state that they do take printable coupons.
If a store gives you a hard time:
1. Speak to the manager if it is a store clerk causing problems. Show them the individualized areas of your coupon – coupons.com has a small “dotscan” barcode under the expiration date and every coupon is different, smartsource has an individual number next to the bar code on the bottom.
2. If the manager is still saying no, step aside and call the corporate office (ask the manager for the number, they know it). Tell them that the store is giving you a hard time with coupon usage and that you have printed coupons from _______ (source). Most will tell you to put the manager on and they will kindly tell them to stop giving you a hard time. Some Corporate offices do leave situations up to the manager but you can still ask to file a complaint against the store for lack of customer service.
3. If all else fails don’t check out and just leave. Let them put your items away and make a point that you will take your business to another store.
You can always remind the clerk or manager that they will still get their money back for the product it just won’t be you paying them.
If you have problems printing coupons:
Do you use Firefox?
1. If a coupon is not printing, stuck in the please wait screen, or tells you that it is not compatible with your browser — right click on the tab for the screen you are in and click “Switch Rendering Engine” This will automatically reload the page in Explorer without you having to do anything else. (Thanks to my husband for teaching me that one)
2.If you upgraded to version 3.0, Smart Source and ecentives were not ready for the change and are not compatible. You can either un-upgrade or use the switch rendering engine tip above.
How to print more than 1?
After a coupon finishes printing hit your back arrow button (top left corner of your screen) twice to reload the print coupon screen and it will automatically print the coupon again. Most coupons hae a print limit of 2 per computer so this only works once.
These deals start Saturday at CVS for the entire month of November. There is only one free item listed for the month, but a few of these might make a great deal as things come on sale. For that reason I am not doing any Monthly deal ideas. Most of these should be considered on a weekly basis, waiting until CVS puts the item on sale (a lot like you would use your coupons — wait until the best time to get the ECB deals). I am going to start putting into the weekly posts what monthly deals would be good that week.

I was tagged by Extreme Couponing to share seven things about myself. I haven’t ever really shared anything about myself on this blog so it’s time to get personal :)
These are the rules for tagging…
1) Link back to the person who tagged you and share the rules on your blog
2) Share 7 facts about yourself
3) Tag seven people and list their links in your post
4) Tell those 7 people by commenting on their blog!
1. I believe in Jesus Christ, and know Him to be my only hope for salvation, and I hope and pray that my children might also say that one day.
2. I am a stay at home mom with three kids ages 3 and under (two came together).
3. My Husband thinks I’m crazy and has no understanding of the amount that we save every week.
4. My older girls learned to use scissors by pretending to cut coupons. They called it that not me…
5. Winter has started where we live and being born and raised in FL I’m cold, all the time. (We live in SC but I promise it’s cold outside)
6. My best friend is my Husband, even though he doesn’t get my hobby.
7. One of my biggest goals in life is to more hospitable, now I just have to get the house clean.
That was a lot harder than it looked…
I’m now to tag 7 other sites, so many that I know of have already been tagged, so I am picking the 7 most recent sites that came to Southern Savers. I guess I should list above, that I love following the traffic links in my site stats to see all the blogs that you guys have!
