Going Nuts? I can help you understand coupon terms and abbreviations

These deals start at Publix this Wednesday or Thursday depending on your area.  This is a VERY good week for meat at Publix.  I also learned this past weekend, from an Atlanta area meat manager, that meat at Publix is a better grade that an other stores so, take advantage of great meat at probably some of the lowest Publix prices you will see.  I will add Food Lion store coupons as soon as I wake up in the morning.

If you are new to couponing read a getting started guide to learn what all this means.

1. You do not have to buy 2 of the B1G1 items to get the sale price
2. If you do buy 2 items that are B1G1 make sure you use 2 coupons to get the best deal
3. Publix accepts competitors coupons (you can stack with a manufacturers coupon and a Publix coupon too)
4. You can use a store coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon on the same item
5. Most Publix locations double manufacturer coupons that are.50¢ or less

** #1 and #5 do not apply in FL and coastal GA**

      Thanks, Jenny!

    • Emily

Any idea why I can’t find a Mrs. Smiths even with the different zip??

    • lauri

Is anyone else having problems finding the Mrs. Paul’s coupon? I entered the zip code 30013 and I’m not finding that coupon. Any ideas?

      Thanks so much!

    • Tracy

      I can’t find it either!

    • Jessica

I can’t find the coupon either.

Jenny, thanks again for all you do! I woke up at 3am and saw this list up. Do you ever sleep? lol

    • Wende

Mrs. Pauls were there on Monday night – but when I went to print from another computer Tuesday – they were gone. They have been up for several weeks so they must have been taken down on 9/1.

    • Jenna

The quality of Publix meat may be better than other stores, but the fish certainly isn’t. Has anyone noticed that fish recently has been looking old and of poor quality? Specifically salmon and sashimi tuna. I’ve noticed this at two stores in Columbia.

    • Iris

I’m having difficulties printing out the $1 off Banana’s 1 lb or more printable (Target). Is anyone else running into the same problem?

    • Anne

Is there a different zip code to use for the Super Pretzel coupon? I can’t get it to come up with my zip code in GA. Thanks.

    • Anne

Does anybody know if the glade candle is the fragrance collection soy candle (like what is on sale at CVS) or if it is a different kind?

    • Suzanne

Does the Publix on Irmo Drive in accept Target coupons?

    • tonya

the target coupon is for 50 cents off 1 lb or more of bananas.

      try zip code 90210.

    • Elizabeth

I can’t print the $5/$20 Meat Purchase from FL. It says “link not found.” Help! : )

    • Michelle

I don’t see the Mrs. Paul’s or the Superpretzel coupons, either. Any ideas, anyone?

    • JennyC

I always use zip code 91204 because it seems to bring up the most coupons on RedPlum. The SuperPretzel will come up using it.

    • SuperPretzel….32822

    • I don’t know about the quality of the fish because I don’t buy it at Publix, but I do know that it stinks! I have to hold my breath when I pass the fish counter!!

    • Aymie

Is chicken at $1.69/LB. a good price?
We are in need of chicken and I saw that it’s at the price but didnt see it on here.
      Does it ever get cheaper?

    • .Jennifer

Hey Jenny. Thanks for getting these up so early. I agree with the others… when do you sleep?

I have a coupon page that I got for making a donation at Publix a couple of months ago and it has a coupon for $1.00 off any Glade candle item. (I will check the wording when I get home and update).

    • Melissa

I live in the Atlanta area (near Duluth) and my Publix recently stopped taking coupons from FL and they even said that Target was no longer considered competitor. Is anyone else running into this with Publix. They told me that this is coming down from corporate. :( UGH!

    • Amy

Jenna & Tina – I agree – Publix is the only grocery store where the fish stinks SO bad!

Jenny – I was there when the Publix meat manager told you that – it was pretty funny!

Looking forward to deals on meat… we’re almost out!

    • Elizabeth

I searched for Food Lion $5 off $20 Meat and found the Q. Thanks Jenny!

    • Jenn

Is anyone else having a problem with coupons from the Sunday inserts matching up with what is listed on the deals?? I can not find the Lawry’s coupon in my inserts, or the Kellogg’s coupon or Mt. Olive. I’m still not done going through all of the deals and already these coupons I can’t find. I don’t want to get frustrated with the process, but I’m unsure of what to do. I’m guessing that the coupon inserts vary greatly from area to area?? I’m in middle TN.

    • Gretchen

If anyone in the Summerville or N.Charleston area has any extra Duncan Hines Cake mix coupons that they aren’t using, I would love have them. I am trying a new hobby..cake decorating.
      thanks! please call 8434426377.

    • Marie

Can you use a Target coupon in Publix stores in Florida?

    • Victoria

How many of you have extra freezers? We just have a normal refridgerator and our freezer is stuffed to capacity. I have considered buying a chest freezer because than I can take advantage of some more of these deals.

Also, what are the normal prices on those meats?

    • Helen

      Thank you Cindy, it worked!

    • Is the Barber chicken good? I pretty picky when it comes to frozen meat like that. Thanks in advance!

    • Dawn

This past Sunday night, I tried to use the $3 off $10 Deli Bakery purchase at Bilo in Hixson, TN and was told that Publix will not take competitor coupons that are for departments (e.g. meat, bakery, deli). They told me they would only take competitor coupons for specific items like cereal. Anyone else run into this problem?

    • .Jennifer

Jennifer (the other one… I’m not talking to myself!) #23 the Barber chicken is ok. I use it on nights that I so do not feel like cooking and would otherwise get takeout. It is pretty low effort and goes well with other things that are low effort like the Uncle Ben’s rice you just microwave.

It is definately worth the $1.50 to me because it doesn’t give me an excuse to spend way more than that on fast food.

Victoria #21 I have a full size (same size as my whole fridge/freezer combo) freezer in my garage. LOVE IT. There is a turkey in it right now!

    • Janie

      Cindy S-
Thanks for the zip code on the SuperPretzel, It worked for me.

    • Lori

I just wanted to write Thank you. You know there are lots of sites that post deals. But what you do here is really special. I really appreciate that you post the whole ads contents. That really helps when it comes timeto make yourshopping lists. I do not have to reference my ad at all. I add my most needed items not on sale and go. What a wonderful assistance that is. Thank You.

    • Ln

      Victoria #21,

We have an upright 14.0 cubic ft. deep freezer in the garage and it has been the best thing for couponing. You can’t imagine how many things can be frozen. We really wanted an upright because we didn’t want to be digging around and stacking things on top of things and not be able to see what’s in there. The only thing, is that these kind and this size is a little pricier. I read a tip somewhere to reduce the price and it worked for us. We were patient and eventually we found a floor model that was originally $450 and we got it for $175 because it had a scratch on it. That’s it. One scratch. Even got the warranty with it. We were so excited to get something so much nicer for less than the price of the smallest new chest freezer. Hope this helps!

    • Melanie H.

Victoria #21 – I have an extra freezer in my garage and I love it! It is so helpful to stock up on frozen waffles, pizzas, frozen meats, veges from the garden, and my husband hunts so we store the meat in there when he actually kills something. My parents bought it for us last year as our Christmas present. It is an excellent investment!

    • Learning2CouponFL

In Florida (true BOGO), couldn’t you use free Rice Krispies coupon from the Vocal Point mailer to get two boxes of cereal for free?

My husband and I really like most of the Barber chicken breasts. I always stock up when they go on sale because like the other Jennifer said they make a super easy meal but you still feel like you’re having a “real” dinner. We actually pair them with Uncle Ben’s rice like she does and some canned veggies. I think the Cordon Bleu ones are our favorite but the stuffing ones are also pretty good. The chicken Parmesan ones aren’t bad, although probably our least favorite of the 3 varieties we’ve tried. They’re individually portioned so everyone can pick out which kind they like, which might be nice if you have kids. They’re a little on the small side – my husband usually eats two. The chicken breast itself actually comes out surprisingly moist and fresh tasting and I’ve kept some of them in the freezer for quite a while.

    • Misti

Aymie #16 – isn’t the chicken at 1.69 split chicken breast? If so that means it still has the ribs in it…so its heavier. Its great for grilling and yes thats a good price for it just keep in mind that your pkg’s will still have less meat in them or still be kind of high (well in my opinion). A good price for boneless skinless is 1.99 and if you ever see it for 1.79 (thats the least I’ve ever seen it -at a piggly wiggly truck sale) then get as much as you can! hope this helps!

    • Jeanne

We went and bought a new freezer a month after I was told about this website. We just had too much food and not enough room. We got a great deal with HHGregg. Check around Lowes and other stores and see what they are charging for freezers…if it is lower then HH Gregg, HH Gregg will lower their price 10% lower then competitor.

    • Leigh Anne

The Publix in Hixson Tn will not double coupons that say Do Not Double on them; the cashier manually overrides the double. So don’t shop there if you have any that say Do Not Double. I just talked to the manager there about this and he told me there is no way the cashier can manually override it; that the system does it. I told him that they have doubled all coupons since they opened and that I have never had this happen. He just said maybe they have updated the system. Ok, sure, whatever…anyway, I told him I’d just go down the road to Super Bilo and he said he was sorry to hear that and didn’t try to do anything else to keep me shopping there.

    • Learning2CouponFL

We also have a freezer in the garage (which I’ve heard is a no-no, especially in Florida but that’s where we had room.) I was looking on Craigslist for a a small chest style freezer when my mother-in-law decided to get rid of her upright so we were lucky to get ours for free. We quickly filled it up. I stock up on ground beef every two months or so when Winn Dixie puts it on sale for less than $2/lb. It’s also great for storing extra bread products when they go BOGO (in FL you have to buy 2.) And it’s made it a lot easier to take advantage of deals on frozen breakfast products for Hubby’s son and the recent ice cream/Popsicle sales/coupons. It’s nice having an upright because it’s easy to organize but I’ve read that the chest style ones are more energy efficient.

    • Thanks Jennifer and LearningtocouponFL for the info on the chicken!!! You’ve convinced me to give it a try!!!!

    • MelRae

I have been able to print FOUR of the Barber chicken coupons from Smartsource! I see that Jenny says there are two different coupons…I honestly cannot tell the difference (actually, the picture is different). I thought I would only be able to print two!

Anyway, four coupons are enough…I don’t have room in my freezer for more than four boxes!

    • Jennifer

My freezer comes today and I am soooo excited to finally get my food out of my moms freezer. If you are able to pick up your own freezer then deals like HH Greigs are good when they don’t offer free delivery. What got a 7.2 cu. ft. chest freezer at Lowes (regular price of $228: free delivery and can get 10% off coupons at post office moving package) for around $212 after tax. HH Griegs sells the same one for $255ish but charges delivery.

    • Jennifer

      Leigh Anne,

I always shop at Publix in Hixson. It is such a fantastic store that I would not take my business to Bi Lo just over one coupon not being doubled. I have worked in retail & the store does not have any control over what coupons are doubled & those that are not. They are programmed by the barcode on the coupon. Sorry to hear that you are upset, but they accept so many competitors coupons that many others do not. Plus you can’t match the quality product & service they offer. Publix has been great for my budget!!

    • Ginny

Walmart has Pepsi 2 liters on sale for $1. Publix is $1.50.

    • Aymie

      Thanks Misti!
Could I still use this for dishes like Chicken parm and stuff or is it only good for like grilling and such?

    • Christine

Melissa – #20 – I am up in Woodstock/Towne Lake (about 1/2 hour from Atlanta…) and I haven’t run into the Publix not taking FL overe here yet… but they won’t take Target – even though they are less than a mile away! The crazy thing is… we don’t even have a FL around here! I haven’t seen one at all! I also have another Publix over here that I was using the Publix Covergirl coupon with a manufacture coupon and I had an overage of about .35 cents…. well, the Publix only gave me the difference of the price of the item… they wouldn’t give me the overage! Even tho’ the coupon stated, “1.00 off any covergirl item”…. it did NOT state ‘up to 1.00 off”…. needless to say, I haven’t been back to that Publix!
I was finding better deals at Publix at one time, but out here it seems they are raising their prices to keep from overage. I actually went to Kroger yesterday, I had 200.00 worth of groceries, saved 35.45 with my Kroger card and I had 102.00 worth of coupons (coupons alone!) – I actually did better at Kroger!

    • psalms1001

what is the “In Ad Coupon” for $5 off pampers that you are referring to at the end of your post??? is it in the publix paper??? thanks.

      • Jenny

It is in the weekly ad flyer for publix.

    • Aymie #45 – I usually use split chicken for pulled chicken. I don’t have the time to bake a whole chicken very often (a whole one would be cheaper per pound), so I bake the split breasts on the bone and pull it. I portion it into freezer bags and then thaw one meal’s worth at a time, for casseroles, pasta dishes, pulled BBQ chicken, etc. You could use split breasts for chicken parm, but they are huge and you’d have to either serve it on the bone, or remove the bone before breading. Occasionally I’ll bake it and serve the breasts as entrees, but because they’re so big we end up eating more meat than normal in one meal (and more meat than we need).

    • Kristin

I keep seeing the Whole Grain Cheez-it’s coupon listed when Cheeze-it’s are on sale, but I think they are usually higher priced than the regular Cheeze-it’s. Would that coupon still work?

    • JEB

Does charcoal keep? Just got a bag recently with the free pork and KC Masterpiece deal…Now I have a $3 manu. Q for Kingsford, the save $6 on pork PDF, and a save $2 off KC Masterpiece when you buy Kingsford, and I think there is a FLIP for Kingsford…but not sure if it is store or maunfacturer Q…Could you use all these together?

    • Jenny,
I can’t tell you how much I’ve enjoyed your website; also, can’t tell you how grateful I am for all of your hard work!

I wanted to ask, when might I begin receiving my All You subscription from the 2 year special promo?

Finally, I wanted to note that I found these today on the same page:

***60/1 Hellman’s 18oz or larger RP 06/28 (for Publix this week)
***$1.50/2 Wishbone Dressings RP 06/28 (for Bi-Lo this week)

    • Givemeagooddeal

What is meant that for a BOGO you don’t have to get two. Does that mean that you can buy one at half the price?

    • Jenn

Why can I not find the Mt. Olive Q in the 7/19 SS???

    • Amanda

40 oz Heinz ketchup are $2 this week. My store in Summerville had hangtags on the ketchup for $3 off ketchup and two packs of Ball Park franks. I combined this with the Sara Lee bun coupon. I got free ketchup, buns, and two packs of franks for $3!

    • Stacy

Kristin – I just bought Whole Grain Cheez-Its a couples weeks ago when all Cheez-Its were B1G1. The Whole Grain ones were prices the same as all the others.

    • Wendy

Jenny–Thank you once again for all your research you do for us. I just went to Publix this morning with your list in hand and stocked up on lots of meat and dairy products, all with coupons. Thank you!

BTW, to those in Atlanta, my Publix (in Newnan) takes Food Lion and Kroger coupons still, but no Target.

    • kimberly

Could someone please explain how she comes up with the totals of things?

For example: Glade Candle, 4 oz jar, at $3.49
-$1.50 off any Glade Candle home mailer (makes it .24¢ ea)

If you can only use 1 coupon per item, how does a $1.50 off from $3.49 make it .24?

      • Jenny

The Glade candles are part of the Buy One Get One list, so they will ring up at $1.74 ea. Minus $1.50 off makes it .24 ea.

        Hope that helps

    • carol

Finally the Get Groceries Get Beautiful coupon books were in my local store on Woodruff Rd in Greenville. They are located where the sale paper and Advantage Flyers are located. Went to Bloom also today as they are tripling coupons. Not a lot of good deals except for Pillsbury Toaster Struedel at $1.79 and I have several .55 cent coupons and when I scanned my breeze card I was given a $2.50 off Bertoli Frozen bagged mean and it’s on sale for $6.99 right now so I will pick up a couple of those later tonite…

    • Mandy

Aymie #18 – I regularly get split breasts at Kroger for $.99/lb. That could have been a seasonal thing lately though. Hope that helps.

Jennifer #28 – We love Barber Chicken! Cordon Bleu is our fave!

    • Tiffany

You don’t have to buy 2 of the BOGO items to get the sale price. You can buy one and get the one half off, but this is only true for grocery stores. If you are buying something BOGO at a drug store, than you will need to buy the both, otherwise, you’ll be leaving the free one on the shelf.

EGGO RECALL **Listeria discovery prompts Eggo recall**

A number of Kellogg’s products are being voluntarily recalled after inspectors found Listeria monocytogenes in a sample of buttermilk Eggo waffles made an at Atlanta plant, the Georgia Department of Agriculture said today.

The sample was taken during a routine inspection at the Kellogg’s plant at 5601 Bucknell Dr. in Atlanta. This product was not shipped into the marketplace, and no illness has been reported.

“Out of an abundance of caution, Kellogg’s is voluntarily recalling a limited number of the following products produced in the same facility,” the department said in a statement.

The recalled products are Eggo Cinnamon Toast waffles sold in packages of 10 with the UPC code 3800040440 and labeled with “Best If Used Before” dates beginning with: NOV22 10 EA, NOV23 10 EA and NOV24 10 EA. Also being recalled are Eggo Toaster Swirlz Cinnamon Roll Minis sold in packages of eight, with the UPC code 3800023370 and “Best If Used Before” dates beginning with NOV15 10 EA.

    • michelle

Leigh Ann & Jennifer, the clerks can override the doubling of coupons. Some clerks do it @ the one in Ooltewah, others don’t. They told me they had to follow what the coupon says. So if it says no doubling, then no doubling, but if they don’t catch that it doubled it still doubles. In fact I think I saw a comment on a previous week that if you go to the u scan, the coupon doubled with no problems because no clerk to override. I plan on trying it!

    • Kim

I have a question about UPromise. I see that several deals on here include this and that you can use an Ecoupon. How does a UPromise ecoupon work in a store that doesn’t use store cards, like Publix. When I watched the tutorial of how Ecoupons work on there, it was by scanning your store card. How could they know to give you a credit if you shop at Publix with no card? Am I missing something? Thanks so much for all you do!

    • gjn

      Hey, Kim,
Publix does have a card. It is green and says UPromise on it. Ask for it at your store.

    • Teri

Hello! I have a question for Murfreesboro, TN shoppers. I have always shopped at the one on Rutherford Blvd but lately they’ve just been more of a hassel with coupons than anything. I was wondering if someone has another one in town they’d recommend? Preferably one that takes FLIPs, Target and RiteAid coupons. Thanks!

      Jenn #23,
The Tennessean does not get the best coupons. Mt. Olive and several others are never in there. Also, the coupon values are sometimes less. There are still plenty of deals to be had but we’ll never fare as well as those with better papers.

    • Carly

Anyone know if I could use the $5 off pampers cruisers sent out for baby club members with the ad coupon forthis week? I am thinking that would be 2 store coupons and wouldn’t be allowed?!

    • Beth-Paulding Co.

anyone in Paulding/Cobb GA which stores are you finding the “Put Clean in Your Cart” booklets? I cked yesterday at Macland Pointe shopping center they didn’t have it out yet. Called today before I wasted a trip and they still don’t have it out. Neither does – Publix Lost Mnt Crossing. I saw a couple posts showing people finding them in Dallas & Powder Springs, just would like to know specifically which location???? I don’t want to miss out on a booklet!!! Thanks………

    • Lana

The 6 pack Hershey bars that are BOGO are 3.99.

    • Charlene

Does anyone know if the Trussville AL Publix has Toss Your Cash or Put Clean in Your Cart booklet? I have gone in one store and they had no idea what I was talking about.

    • Heather

Kristin- I bought Cheezits at HT couple of weeks ago when they were BOGO. I bought regular Cheezits, but used the Whole Wheat coupon. It worked. Sometimes the manufacturer has it set specifically for one item, but in this case it works with any Cheezits. Hope this helps.

    • Does Publix double coupons that say “Do Not Double”?

    • Ooo

The Publix in Trussville HAD the Toss for Cash booklet but they ran out very quickly. I have not seen the other one yet.

I took my waffles out of the box for more room in my freezer…

Here in FL we have to buy two items to get the bogo.
We dont get the option to get only one at half price.

I shop at Publix on Mt Zion in Ga. Does anyone know what coupon booklet to find an Oral B coupon in…Thanks

    • Phillis

      Terri #67

I shop at the one on 96 and only one person there gives me a problem. I think she is asst. mgr or something. They still take FLIP and Target coupons. I normally use the u-scan and works pretty good. I am not going to let their bad customer service keep me from using my coupons. I don’t have a problem reporting them to corporate.

    • JEB

I am in the Lexington and Columbia area…I have never seen Yogos in the store yet…anyone seen? I have rainchecks for them. Also, am searching for the Teddy Grahams Disney Princess cookies in the pink box..ALL I saw at Lex. were the CARS ones…My little girl wants the princess ones, so I have not used my raincheck on those yet either..

    • Michelle

      JEB (#76),

I got a raincheck for the Yogos when they were on sale a few weeks back also. I kept checking for them, and I realized that there was no place for them on the shelf any longer. I asked about it, and they said they’re not carrying them anymore. They let me substitute a comparable product, and they took the Yogos coupons that I had.

      Hope this helps.

    • Barbara

The nut clusters (I got 2) had a peelie on them for a dollar and I also had 2 coupons ( dollar a piece )and the manager used all 4. I spent 60 and got about 150 worth today. Jenny, thank you for the information on the meat quality! I try to be as cautious as possible when it comes to quality. I really appreciate what you do, it has been such a huge blessing to be able to give to others and lighten the load with the grocery budget! My husband appreciates it too!

    • sabrina

      Terri #67
In Murfreesboro – I go to the Victory Village Publix on 96. They are super nice and take Target & FLIPs, but not drug store coupons. The cashiers are always excited over how much I save.

    • Tiffany

…Man, I forgot about FL. What’s the deal with FL anyway? Why doesn’t FL and coastal GA participate in the Mystery Penny item on Sundays? I live 30 miles from the FL state line and our Publix doesn’t participate in the Mystery Penny item either. Thank goodness we still get the 50% off on BOGOs.

    • lisa

I found my “Put Clean in your Cart” booklets yesterday at the Powder Spgs. Publix on Richard Sailors Pkwy. I usually shop the Publix at New Hope but I work in PS so I ran in there yesterday for a bag salad and got lucky! In the past, I have had good luck in finding coupon books there. Not sure why.

    • Michelle

I went to Publix tonight, and used coupons I had printed for the Heluva good dip…my color ink had started to run out, so some of them were just in black and white, and they cashier (who happened to be a manager working the register just to get the lines down) accused me of copying them. I explained to her that my color ink had run out, but the black ink was still good, and that’s why it turned out that way. She said something else about the numbers being the same, when the bag boy (who is usually a cashier–everyone was changing jobs tonight!) looked at it and said it was good. He said he knew how to tell the photocopied ones. I was really offended. I had lots of other coupons, all with colors or out of the newspaper. It was the Publix in Evans, Georgia. :(

    • To Beth #69 – I found those today at the Seven Hills Publix, they are right inside the second door on a display – they also had the toss for cash and a breast cancer awareness coupon booklet.

    • Michelle

In response to comment #38 and #46. I am in Woodstock/Towne Lake and the Publix on Towne Lake and Rose Creek have never taken Target coupons as competitors and 2 weeks ago quit taking Food Lion coupons. Both my husband and I tried to ensure it wasn’t just the cashier, but they said it was a new store policy and the only store they considered a competitor is Kroger. In response to comment #38 there is one cashier at my Publix that overides the doubling of coupons if they say do not double so if I have those I make sure she is not my cashier.

    • Jill

There’s a $2 off coupon for the Blue Bunny/Aspen or Sedona in the ss 8/2 flyer.

    • Damien

      -.50/1 Lawry’s Marinade RP 8/30

Is this coupon actually the one that says: “.50/2 Lawry’s Seasoning Mixes”? If so, I used it last week on a jar of Garlic Salt (and it changed to $1/1). If not, then I do not think I got that coupon… nor did I see it listed on the insert preview.

    • Damien

Just to let y’all know that if you have a Winn-Dixie near you then you can get a slightly better deal on Ballpark Franks. They are listed as B1G1 at $2.99 (1.49ea), so you can get them for $0.99ea with the $1/2Q… 50 cents cheaper than Publix.

    • Damien

I am kicking myself for not getting more of those $3 off Mrs. Paul’s Qs before they took it down! I spent the 1 I did print off a few weeks ago.

    • Jessica

I found my booklet at the Publix at New Georgia. Its on 61 going towards Villa Rica.

    • Aymie

      I know it really stinks.
The only upside to the bogos here is if I have a bogo coupon I get both items for free.
      That happens quite often.
I do wish they participated in the Penny item though.
We should all write a letter.

    • Shannon in ATL

Aymie…no worries on the buttermilk for the Eggo recall, it looks like it is just the following….

Eggo Cinnamon Toast waffles sold in packages of 10 with the UPC code 3800040440 and labeled with “Best If Used Before” dates beginning with: NOV22 10 EA, NOV23 10 EA and NOV24 10 EA.

    • Kelly

      In response to Michelle #85

I can’t believe they said something about your coupons being black and white. I don’t ever print mine in color to save on ink. I’ve had so many issues lately. I had a cashier tell me she couldn’t take a manufacturer coupon because the item was already on sale. I almost fell over laughing. Since so many more people are using coupons they really need to train these cashiers on what is right. Every cashier tells me something different. Some take Target some don’t. Some take Rite Aid but not walgreens. Then some take them all. And this is all at the same Publix. It makes shopping incredibly frustrating because you never know what your going to have to deal with when you go to check out.

    • Jean

Michelle #85- I feel your pain! The cashier, Lisa, in Spring Hill, accused me of copying coupons because my color ink ran out too. The coupons printed just fine in black and white, but she insisted that I had photo-copied them. It was humiliating. I never expected to be called a theif in front of so many people. I stood my ground and insisted they were not photo-copied. I have never done that! She made up reasons why some of my other coupons wouldn’t work and the other cashier, who was originally my cashier- Lisa saw my stack of coupons and walked over to our line and grabbed them from my cashier to investigate. She must have gone to a coupon class or something because she became the coupon Gestapo over night. After the other cashier fought back and said that there was nothing wrong with any of my coupons, then she gave them back to her, but stood over her like a tyrant to make sure there was no foul play. That was irritating, humiliating and rude. I have never been treated that way and was shocked. Oh, well- now I understand the other comments I read on here about the same kind of stuff. It’s hard to understand until you’re the one being accused.

    • Stephanie

I have a question. I’ve noticed, some of the printable coupons from this week say “Do NOT DOUBLE OR TRIPLE” along the top.

My question: Does Publix still double these (of course as long as they are $0.50 or less)?

    • Aymie

      I agree.
You should stick with the ones that know what they are doing and take all of your coupons with a smile.
Its funny cause I had one cashier tell me herself who to go to and who to avoid.
I even had the CS MANAGER tell me “go to so and so, she wont give you any problems with your coupons”
      I thought that was hilarious!

    • Lyn

I went to two different Publix’s today in Snellville, GA and neither one had the Crackerfuls crackers that are on sale. Neither one had the SuperPretzel in the freezer aisle either. Anyone else having that problem? It seems as though they are not stocking them.

    • If you use the new food lion coupon ($3 off) and the manufactures coupon ($2 off), that would make the Kingsford charcoal $2.99 for 13.5 lbs

    • Whitney

Hi! I’m new to couponing, and took my first trip to Publix last night. I think I did well, but it literally took me HOURS to compile coupons, print coupons, sign up for booklets, clip coupons, make my food list, etc…is this just because I’m just starting out, or does it get quicker? Also, I know you say to stack a manufacterer’s coupon with a store coupon, but where are these store coupons? In the sale papers at the front, or do you have to get them from the sunday paper? I also couldn’t find any tearpads, and a lot of the coupons listed as being in the SS or RP for that week, I couldn’t find in mine…I think I might be doing some things wrong. Also, when things are B1G1Free at Publix (and note, I’m in Florida), can you use coupons on the “free” items? I don’t know if these questions on here get answered, but I really want to get better at this, so I was hoping someone would take pitty on me and give me some pointers :). I think what would really help me would be if someone would tell me what they do to prepare to shop, from start to finish. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

    • Shanele

I can’t find the Food Lion meat coupon! Please help! Thanks!!

    • JEB

I am confused about the FLIP Kingsford coupon. Is it a store or manufacturer Q? Can it be stacked or not?

Also, Lowe’s has a new ad out today that has BOGO on Kingsford charcoal…says it is 18 lbs–looks like it might be 2 9 lb. bags. Wonder if they ring up 1/2 price or one full and other free, and if you could use your Q from Toss for Cash booklet or even the FLIP , or just one coupon….

    • JEB

Excuse me–not the TOss for cash Q, but the Turn up the music, Fire Up the Grill booklet

    • Phillis

JEB you can use both at Publix, not sure about Lowe’s. FLIP is not a manufacturer coupon, it is a store coupon. Works great with $6 off pork coupons and one other item, if you have any of those.

    • Phillis

Shanele go to the Food Lion coupon link above. It’s the first coupon in the second group of coupons.

    • Shanele

Got it Phillis! Just took some searching. Thanks again!

    • To all of you lady’s outside of SW Floria, where Publix has no competition to speak of and does not double coupons, feel good!
I would ask you guys to look at the front glass on your Publix next time you go there… The ones down here have a sign “We gladly accept other grocers coupons”….. Now I’m waiting for an email from Corp. as to who/what are acceptable as grocers, ie, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, etc. But my local Publix is now accepting Target, Food Lion, and even BiLows after a conversation with the Asst Mgr & CS Mgr about THE SIGN IN THE WINDOW. Needless to say, we have none of your competing groceries down here. Good Luck!

    • Jeb and Phillis- the new Kingsford Food Lion printable is NOT a store coupon – it IS a manufacturer coupon and CANNOT be stacked with another manufacturer coupon. The way to tell is by reading the fine print. It has retailer information on where to submit the coupon for reimbursement as well as a scannable barcode that begins with a “5”. Both those things tell you this is a manufacturer coupon.

I know the Publix on Gervaist St. has the princess cookies and I do believe they have the Yogos also.

    • Kathy

My regular Publix on East Piedmont in Marietta told me that it is now on their bulletin boards that the only competitor coupons they can take are Target and Kroger. Whole Foods is not even 4 miles from there and it was only because of my pleading that they took my $1 off coupons on Back to Nature Cookies that I had a raincheck for. They say the policy came from corporate and all Publixs will be adhearing to this

    • Tiffany

The Publix in Thomasville, GA has Rotel BOGO for $1.29 each. Sept. All You mag had a buy 2, get 1 free q. That made it $0.43/can. That will go great with the Velveeta blocks we got a couple weeks ago.

    • Jessica

Hi Jenny, Thanks for all your hard work to make life easier and cheaper for all of us!! I, however, cannot get the 5/20 meat FLIP coupon to print from your link above. Can you e-mail me and let me know what to do? Thanks! Jessica

    • Phillis

Brandy, Wow! I did not notice that. This is going to cause confusion because at the top of the coupon it states “store coupon.”

    • Cristinia

Whitney- it takes me some time to get it all together for the trip also, but I am getting faster as I get the hang of it. I too am in Florida and yes, you can use a coupon on the buy one item and also one for the free item. You can even use a buy one get one “manufacturer” coupon on a Publix BOGO sale item- thus both are free- I just tried this a week ago 1 Publix flyer BOGO which was a manufacturer Q, with the BOGO Shout spray sale and it worked NO PROBLEM- Jenny helped me understand and try this one!!!
The store coupons mostly come out of the flyers in the store- if you see them listed or mentioned on website like this…call (I ask for a manager) or check your store to see if they have them yet- when they do get some to pair with the BOGO sales as well as the advantage buys, etc. I don’t usually find the tearpads as I don’t have much time as it is :) My Publix takes Food Lion Q’s as a competitor as well as Save-a-lot, Winn Dixie, etc…but do not take Target and Drug store Q’s. The manager even rang up the order and was quite impressed at the savings we made! Hope these things help- the baby just woke up… have to run :) – Cristinia

My Heluva dips coupon printed 4 times!!

    • Ooo

I was at the Trussville Publix today and they had a whole new stack of the toss for cash coupon booklets as soon as you walk in near the buggies. And they also had a live well, feel beautiful coupon page. These were throughout the whole store, but the ones I got were right beside the drop off window of the pharmacy. Sorry for the misinformation before. Who would’ve thought they would get more coupons after being out of them.

    • Becky

Remember there is a Food Lion Coupon from 6/24 that is $2 off chicken or beef when you buy 2 Lawry’s Marinades exp 12/1/09. I had a couple left in my Publix envelope and remembered that the Lawry’s is on sale again. Even more savings!

    • Janice

      RE: Target/FL coupons in Atlanta

Since there are no Food Lion stores in this market, I would never expect a Publix to accept them as a competitor. I know in “theory” that is their policy, but to me, it doesn’t seem right. Thank your lucky stars if your Publix is accepting them, because that store has a very generous manager!

And I can understand being annoyed with the Target competitor coupon policy, but realistically in a town of this size, unless there is a SuperTarget across the street where you can buy “real groceries”, they would not be considered a “real” competitor. The convenience factor has a lot to do with it. There is a SuperTarget about 3 or 4 miles away from the Publix I shop at the most, but during high-traffic times, that might take 30 minutes to drive. So that particular SuperTarget is not a “real” competitor of that particular Publix.

How much are the Pampers Cruisers Value Pack Box and Pampers Wipes 320 ct +

    • Amber

Just FYI. Target has some printable coupons for Johnson & Johnson that can be used for the Bath Buddies at Publix & they will be free. Also the $1/1 General Mills Cereal is a target printable & the size is not on there, so you can use it for the cups of cereal & they will be free. These expire on 9/5.

    • Becca

Go here for the Food Lion $5 on $20 meat coupon:

Click on the link underneath the meat section. The link on Publix’s site didn’t work for me, but it did here.

    • julia

Oh, and does anyone know how much the aveeno baby products are or what the cheapest is?

    • Jen

I am not liking the Harbison Publix. They are nice enough, but they keep making more and more restrictions on coupons. First, they told me about three months ago they wouldn’t stack store and manufacturer coupons. I just went there tonight and they adjusted my Mrs. Pauls coupon down so I wouldn’t get any overage. I just don’t understand the problem. From everything I’ve seen, the stores don’t turn in the amount the product was sold for, just the total inventory, so why would the manufacturer care if the coupon was for more than the cost of the item? So confusing.

I guess I will just stick to the downtown Gervais Publix. They don’t have as good of selection sometimes, but are so much better with their coupons!

    • Charlotte in SC

Our Publix in West Ashley (Charleston, SC) hasn’t been getting the booklets I’ve seen y’all talking about. I’ve gotten the Toss for Cash and they have Clean Your Cart, but I’ve not been able to get the others. I contacted the corporate customer service, and they had the manager, Dave Horne, call me. He explained that he’s trying to figure out why he’s not getting them (I asked him if he knew about this site and he’s looked around before, so he knew what I was talking about). He talked to me about the coupon policy to make sure I understood how it works in our Publix. And he will stack them like most of them do. I was very impressed that he took the time to call me and that he also stayed on the phone with me for about 8 mins to make sure I was satisfied. AND 2 of the coupon books I’d been wanting that he now has, he wanted to know how many I wanted and if he could mail them to me! Publix just got a customer for life!! Thank you Dave!

I too am new to couponing. I have only been doing it about a month. I spend a lot of time cutting and organizing too. One thing that is taking me longer is that I have decided to go with a binder and baseball card pockets and cut all my inserts. It is taking me forever! I have all the inserts for about 6 weeks to cut. Talk about time consuming. It also seems like I am at the store every day! I have noticed though that I am gradually spending less time organizing and less time in the store too! From what I see on here, you can use 1 buy 1 get 1 coupon and both will be free in FL, but I am in GA and can’t swear that’s true. As for not being able to find the coupons listed, I too have trouble finding tearpads, but what happens is, by the time the things are on sale, the tearpads are mostly gone, you kind of have to grab them when you see them and hang onto them until the items go on sale. Click on the weekly inserts tab at the top of this page and then click on regional inserts. Then click on the paper that you buy and it will show you what was in and what wasn’t in your inserts. You may not have gotten them. Also make sure that you have dated them correctly. I always get a weekly supplement to my paper, kind of like a preview to get people to buy subscriptions and it has a RP and SS in it and I was putting the wrong date on them. Look on the “spine” of the insert. The date is printed really small on it. HTH. I won’t walk you through my routine as I am still working on it and you would probably be spending about the same amount of time. HTH

    • Becky

Jen, I feel the same way about the Harbison Publix. I go in there to get coupon booklets and only if I need something that I don’t have coupons to stack. They are not coupon friendly.

    • Anne Marie

      Lyn #100,

I checked at 3 Publix stores in Canton, GA yesterday because I really wanted to use my buy Ritz, get a free Crackerfuls coupons. All of them were out. I thought for sure they would have them by last night as they were on sale this week, so I called and they said they didn’t have any. I don’t know what the deal is, maybe because of the free coupon. Anyway, my Publix wrote me a raincheck for Ritz, so that I can still do the deal, even though they still had the Ritz, so I will wait, hopefully they will be back soon!

    • I have been looking for the crackerfuls all week and have not been able to find them.

    • Amber

I got the aveeno at target today the cheapest i found after the $1 & $2 coupons was about 1.59.

    • Denita

Just so that no one will feel left out, there has not been a box of Crackerfuls in at least 3 different stores for the past week in the Nashville, TN area. I have looked at the Krogers in Brentwood & Bellevue, and Harris Teeters on 21st Ave So. On a different note, has anyone been having problems printing out the SmartSource IPs. I notified SmartSource and they state that my computer memory may not be enough to print their “high quality” coupon. Yeah right! I was printing them just fine on last week. Now everything is printing on the coupon except the barcode.
Oh yeah! Is anyone else “cat ragedy” besides me after shopping during the SUPER DOUBLES WEEK?

    • Chrissy

Just wanted to let y’all know – I found Babybel Cheeses to be BOGO at the Publix on the corner of Peachtree Industrial/141 and Holcomb Bridge Road. Coupled with two $.55 off coupons, and I laughed today!

    • Nikki Smith

Hi:) I am in Savannah, GA and frequent the Publix at Twelve Oaks Shopping Center. Anyone here know where the “booklets” are at this Publix? I have looked everywhere and can’t find them. THANKS:)

    • Whitney

      Cristina and Anne Marie–

Thank you so much for the help and tips!! =)

    • Damien

      Stacy (post 95),

I believe Sunkist is a 7-Up/ A&W product because usually sunkist deals are linked to deals on those sodas, which would mean that it is not a Pepsi product.

      Julia (posts 121 and 124)
I have been wondering the same thing…
“How much are the Pampers Cruisers Value Pack Box and Pampers Wipes 320 ct +”

    • libby

Sorry for two posts but I accidently sent the last one.
“Oh, and does anyone know how much the aveeno baby products are or what the cheapest is?”

    • Pam

Went to the Charleston, SC, James Island HT yesterday. My total before discounts and coupons was $137.00 and I paid $46.00…yeah! The Dixie plates were BOGO and I had two coupons so they were almost free AND they had a coupon attached (up to $3.50) for free Dixie napkins when you buy two Dixie plates. The Boston Butts are on sale for 88 cents a lb. and I bought 4 and used the food lion coupon for $5 off $20 meat. I had a $5 off $20 Rite Aid coupon but the manager said they would only take those for pharmacy purchases.

    • Melissa

Christine #46 Thanks for responding to my question about coupons not being accepted by Publix. I, too, can’t believe they aren’t accepting TARGET!!! I want to contact Publix and contest that!

I also agree that I can get really great deals at Kroger. I really hit Publix now mostly for the BOGO (especially combined with coupons!) otherwise Kroger is having some really good deals and taking my coupons!

    • Kelly

Just got back from Publix saved 53.00 and spent .80 cents. Not too bad. The rotel is bogo at the Duncan, SC Publix BOGO(1.23).

    • nik

don’t know if it was mentioned already, but there is a $3 off 40 oz hienz ketchup wyb 2 ball parks (tearpad found at fl in tn).

Where did you get the Babybel coupons? I love this cheese!

    • Lyn

I saw at my publix that the box of diapers were $29.99 I believe. Forgot to see what the wipes cost though.

    • jessica

FYI. I tried to use the $5.00 meat coupon from Food Lion and publix wouldn’t let me use it.

    • For you Florida and Coastal Georgia Publix guys & dolls, I just got off the phone with my local CSM who said that corp policy is now to honor other grocer coupons and also Target, Walmart, Walgreens, & CVS. They will not honor BJ’s, Costco, or Sams. Nor will they honor a price match coupon from another store. Hope this clears some of the confusion. For you Ga., Ala, SC,Tenn shoppers, talk to your local CSM or Manager. Print out this message and show it to them. It’s worth a try.

    • Anne Marie

I found the Put Clean in Your Cart Booklets at the Publix on Riverstone in Canton, GA!

    • Jackie

Ok, I am still new to this so I have a question. I called my store and they said they take kmart coupons, winn dixie, cvs, and others, so can I use a $10 off $50 from winn dixie, a $5 off $50 from kmart, and a $5 off $25 from cvs if my bill is over $50 and I hand the $10 one first? I want to do this right because I LOVE shopping at my publix and do not want to take advantage of their coupon policy, but I also want to save as much as I can!! :)

    • Jackie

The box of wipes at my store are $9.99!

    • Jerica

i love using the $5 off $25 rite aid coupons at publix….are there any more of those or have they all expirse on 8/31?

    • Christine

Can I use the $5 dollar off $25 from piggly wiggly at Publix?? Just found it today in the Post and Courier!! Im in Charleston/ Summerville.
Go Fort!! My son plays tonight and its my B-day and i saved a crap load on food this morning!!! Thanks Jenny

    • alisha

@#141Kelly….That is amazing!!! What all did you purchase for 80 cents at Publix? was meat included in your purchase?

    • Wendy

The Ball Park Beef Franks here had peelies on them for a free pack of Publix hot dog buns (up to $1.50) wyb 2 Ball Park Beef Franks.
The buns were .99 but the register took $1.50 off, so overage….
plus I used the $1/2 Ball Park Beef Franks coupon.

Also I found El Monterey Tornados with TMF peelies on them. Peelie is rqrd for rebate. Sale price 2/$5. Used a $1/1 coupons from S 8/02. There is another .50/1 coupon printed on the box.

    • Midtown Atl Shannon

Just got a GREAT deal on some pork tenderloin at Publix! The Hormel Always Tender Pork Tenderloin (comes in lots of flavors- I got Teriaki, Orginal/plain, and peppercorn) was on sale for $ 5.99 each (they are over 1 lb- 18.4 oz to be exact). I had a bunch of $3/1 off coupons that I had gotten from some bbq booklet I found earlier this summer at Publix (can’t remember the name, it also had a $1/1 coupon for some meat kebabs- Michiaenglo or something). This made them $2.99 each- a great deal considering we use these all the time! They are great for healthy pulled pork (b/c they are such a lean cut) and great for grilling, etc.

    • valerie

this was only my 4th week couponing and i did pretty good. spent 54.59 oop and saved 80.89. i would have done better but the dogs were in desperate need of food. luckily the beneful was on sale and i had 5 dollars in coupons to help :) thanks jenny for all your hard work!!

OH- and I just got a coupon booklet at my Publix (Central FL) called “Be aware. Be empowered. Be Well.
It’s for breast cancer awareness (the ribbon is on front and the ‘booklet’ is in Pink. Over $20 savings.

    • Chrissy

Lean at #143 – It was in one of the SS’s from the August 2nd newspaper. That particular paper had 2 SmartSavers in it…in addition to a Red Plum, Proctor and Gamble, and the infamous Kelloggs “Fuel for School” flyer/coupons. I hope this helps!

    • Chrissy

Leann at #143 – oops! I apologize for misspelling your name. Please forgive me! :-)

    • alisha

Christine @151 you should be able to use the P.W. 5 off $25 coupon at Publix and H.T. since they are both considered competitors.

    • K.C

I found out that Publix did not run out of the “free” crackerfuls, the vendor did. Publix should honor the coupon when the vendor gets more product. I was also told by my Publix that, they would accept local Supermarket Competitor coupons, but they would not take CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens, ect. b/c they are not Supermarkets, they are drug stores.

    • stacey

For everyone looking for the Mt. Olive coupon, I found one in the Aug. 9th SS flyer if you still have it. 50 cents off 1…stacey in Ga. (it’s for any mt. olive product…)

    • stacey

jackie @ 148…my Publix in Thomasville Ga. takes the coupons from Rite Aid like you are talking about and I tried handing it to them first and they said, ‘we will take those but we have to take them last!’ I had mine on top (well schooled from my sister who is a pro!). But, if I were you, I’d try to give it to them first. You never know! They try to get you to spend it all down so there isn’t $25 left so it won’t work. They got wise to that one fast! Good luck! Stace

    • stacey

oops, Jackie…definately hand the biggest FIRST, even if it is at the end. If there isn’t enough left, go to the next highest denomination. sorry i missed that! stace

    • Sophia

I found the pretzel coupon in zip code 45633 in case any one else wants to get some too…

    • Tania

I’m new at this coupon game, where do you find the “Toss for Cash” & the “Raise your hand” booklets @ Publix?

    • Kristin

I just recently started clipping coupons, so I’m very new to all this. My husband and I went shopping at Publix on Friday and when I went to use my coupons..all the coupons that were $.50 and under were not doubled. I read the coupon policies on the web-site and it states that all coupons under $.50 should be doubled except in Fl. and Coastal Ga…neither of the two do I reside. I am a resident of Ga. but we are not located on the coast. Can anyone please tell me do these policies differ from store to store and do most stores such as Walmart, CVS, etc. double coupons on a regular basis. Any responses would be helpful.

      Thanks In Advance,

    • kathyctts

      Whitney and other noobs-
I only shop for 2 people so I guess my method is a little different. I file the newspaper coupons by date, and only cut out the coupons for products that I often use. They go in a small photo album in my purse, always on hand. The rest stay at home in the dated file, and I look at Jenny’s list each week. If there is an item I am interested in, then I look at the date, find it and clip it. I make a list with notes about price and whether I have a coupon. Then I paper clip together the ones I know I am using on that shopping trip. This way I don’t forget to use them, and don’t hold up the line trying to find them.
I also started counting the number of coupons I give the cashier, so I can make sure they scanned them all.
The whole process takes a couple hours a week. Researching, printing, making the list and organizing.
I hope you find a system that works for you!

    • Tarrah R.

Bill…funny you mention that. I JUST noticed my own sign last night-befor reading your comment! So…I called my local Publix and talked to a CS girl. She told me that it is only for LOCAL grocery stores; I pointed out that it did not say ‘LOCAL’ on the sign,, but she insisted it was for only the local grocery stores. Perhaps I should contact Corporate about that? Thanks for the heads up!

    • Shannon in ATL

Is there a manuf. coupon for Puffs to match up with the Put Clean in Your Cart coupon?

And the Glade candles on sale are they The Fragrance Collection? Wondering if I could use the $3 off from Kroger flyer in paper recently.

    • Tarrah R.

      Shannon in ATL
My mother bought them and said they were the Fragrance Collection (I needed to know for my coups as well); however, she is not always the brightest candle- no pun intended! LOL I am about to head out so that I can use my $5 K-MART coup which expires today. I will try to get back to you to give you a definate answer.

    • Tarrah R.

      BTW ALL
IF your Publix still takes the $5 off $25 CVS coupon- they just continue to print each time you take the ready Fill quiz. So, you should get at least ONE $5 off coup a week.

    • Shannon in ATL

      Thanks Tarrah! LOL…I can relate!

    • Shannon in ATL

Deal if your Publix accepts Target coupons …. the Tide Stain Release is 3.99…use the Target 1.50 off from RP 8/23 and the $2 off coupon from the Put Clean in Your Cart…I purchased 6 and used 2 of the Free Bounty Coupons from same booklet. So for aprox. $3.00 I got 6 Tides and 2 Bountys!!!

    • ang

Can anyone tell me how to get HG Hill coupons I can use at Publix?

    • Dani

I just have a quick question…would you be able to use the FL $5 off of $20 in the meat department for the Hormel Always Tender pork tenderloin?

    • I wish our Publix would keep new coupon books behind the service desk so they could stop people from hoarding them. I only make it in once a week and most of the time new books are wiped out.

#85, I’m offended for you about the copying accusations. If I was going to copy a coupon, do they think I would be dumb enough to copy in black and white? Most home printers are color copiers nowadays, so black and white ink does not automatically equal copy. I bought a color cartridge from Cartridge World that was accidentally filled with black ink, and have been afraid to use the coupons I printed before I saw the problem because I’ve heard this complaint so often here! Not worth the hassle!

    • Phillis

I cannot print smartsource coupons. When it prints it is only a small icon like print of the product. I think I saw someone else have this problem before, but can’t remember how to fix. I have tried reinstalling Java and a new virus protector, but coupons still won’t print.

    • Hey Kathy who shops at East Piedmont Pubilx,

I have been getting more and more flack at that store too lately myself. It used to be just 2 anti-coupon daytime cashiers. however last week my normally nice new cashier lady started getting weird on my coupons, saying one of them was a competitor even though it was a manufacturer (it had a Kroger symbol but it had a barcode).
Anyways, I used my whole food coupons no problem, but she seemed to be getting a little miffed. I said to her if you would like I can bring it over to cs to get approved. she said no, but still her smile was gone.

I am SERIOUSLY considering going to another Publix, have you tried the one at Shallowford? I have had okay luck at Delk. My n’bor shops there too and she is into coupons too, and she says shopping it night is the best. There is one cashier with dreads who is the nicest cashier in the store…

    • Hey Zombiemommy,
I shop at the Shallowford road Publix all the time. There are a few cashiers that will give you grief over some coupons, but generally they are ok; especially the young people. I also find that at this store it is better to shop at night than the day time. Good luck!

    • Extra coupons found for the Barber Chicken!! Went to the site b/c the hubs was asking what they were…

Click on special offers and there’s another $1 off Q that will print twice! YAYAY!

    • Sam

I was wondering if the Wonderbread coupon could be stacked with the 2.00 off of bread WYB Kraft Singles and Oscar Mayer lunch meat? It starts with a 5, BUT it says “retailer coupon” at the top…..I am assuming it can’t be done…but would like to see if anyone was able to do it.

      • Jenny

The $2 off Bread coupon should not used with another manufacturer coupon for bread. The “retailer coupon” on the top is very discieving it is really a manufacturer coupon. If you have a competitor or store coupon though you could use those. You can still use another manufacturer coupon on the Kraft singles or lunch meat since the coupon is really a coupon off of the bread only.

    • Pamela

Still Looking for the coupons for Mrs. Pauls can anyone help me. drillsgt77@aol.com

    • Melinda

The Publix I shop at DID take my $2 manufactures coupon.. and the $3 Food Lion Coupon (that everybody said was really also a manufactures coupon) for Kingsford Charcoal. Got the 13.5 lb bag for $1.99 !!!

    • Anita

Publix in Irmo will not accept Target coupons.

    • JEB

Is Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal on sale, or just Cheerios for the General Mills sale?

    • Miriam

I don’t understand why some people think we should give grief over a store not doubling or tripling a manufacturer’s coupon that says not to do it! It’s great to get a good deal–but do it honestly. Raising a fit over a rule that is the Manufacturer’s rule just makes other couponers look bad.

    • Learning2CouponFL

I’ve been couponing for about a year and in that time I’ve switched organization systems four times. I would suggest you experiment and see what works for you. Jenny has a good posting on how to organize coupons with the pros and cons of each (and tons of comments with variations). http://www.southernsavers.com/2009/06/extreme-couponing-organization/

For me now, it seems quickest just to save the inserts by date and cut out the coupons as I need them. I was keeping an inventory of my coupons so I could find them while I was in stores but I haven’t had time to keep up with it lately. As a compromise I might try printing out the insert lists and attaching them to each bundle.

On Wednesdays I load Jenny’s list for Publix and copy any deals I’m interested in and paste them into a text file. I arrange them in the same order as the aisles at my usual Publix, typing anything extra that we might need for the week. Then I just print my shopping list and clip/print the matching coupons. I keep my inserts in a portable file so I can get ready to shop during my lunch break or even in the grocery store parking lot.

At first I felt like I had to get every good deal. Now I’m more interested in achieving a good balance between saving money and not letting couponing take over. Unless it’s a high value coupon for a product we love or one that will be a freebie or money maker at CVS soon, I only print out coupons as the items come on sale. Another way I save time is by focusing on just a couple of stores. Publix and CVS are the only two stores I deal shop at regularly. I keep an eye out for deals at Wal-Mart, Target, Winn Dixie and Walgreens but I only take advantage of them when it’s really worthwhile.

Most Publix store coupons are located in the Advantage Buy or other booklets at the front of the store, although there’s usually 1-2 in the weekly ad. Target and Food Lion have printable store coupons online. Target also sometimes has them in the newspaper inserts. You can find a few store’s coupons in their weekly advertisements. I’ve had pretty good luck with $/$$ coupons printing from the Catalina machine a Winn-Dixie (I go there once every month or two to stock up on ground beef) and they send out nice coupons if you sign up for their baby club. As couponing becomes more ingrained in the way you think/shop you’ll start finding them (and other ways to save money) everywhere. In my area, Publix accepts Food Lion, Sweet Bay, Whole Foods and Winn Dixie coupons. They won’t take Target’s and I haven’t asked them about the drug stores.

My sister-in-law just moved to Ft. Myers, FL and I have got her “couponing,” but her Publix told her that they do not double coupons. Is that correct?

    • Tausha

Rachael…sorry, but no. We don’t get double coupons here in FL, nor do we get penny items. BUT, we do get true BOGO’s, which has it’s advantages in some instances. hope that helps?!

    • Everybody Commenting on Coupon Policy,

CALL YOUR DISTRICT MANAGER! Call 800-242-1227 and tell your store number and ask for the district manager to call you back. They know the coupon policy for there stores. Then when you go back in the store make sure you remember there name and use it. The people in the store are making up there own coupon policy. If this does not work we all need to write letters (not email) telling corporate what is going on in the stores.

      ***Deal Alert***

I didn’t see this posted anywhere – Mini Babybel cheese is BOGO for $3.29. There is a $0.55/1 Q in the 8/2 SS. It comes in a net bag w/6 cheese rounds in it. This is in Gainesville, FL or more commonly known as Gator Nation!!!

Hello! I am brand new to this site and am loving it greatly. I do have a question about figuring out applying coupons to sale items. As in the break down of a sale item and the applicable coupons for the item: there seem to be more coupons than item and I can not figure out how you arrived at the final cost. It’s just me, I’m sure as this is already a frustrating day, but am on my way to grocery shop and would greatly appreciate some clarity. Thanks for the feedback and help! Love the site too! Thanks for doing this!

    • Melissa #20 the publix in Snellville and Lilburn are still taking my target coupons have not a problem yet.

Also I went to the Gwinnett International Farmers Market and was amazed at the meat prices. Skinless Boneless Chicken Breast $1.49
Filet Mignon 3.99 a pound. Ribeye 3.49 and N Y Strip Steaks 2.99 pork loin 1.09 a pound. With these meat prices and all the couponing I do now thanks to your site we are saving more money than I ever imagined possible. To bad it took me this long.

Ok I know this is WAY down here so not sure if anyone will ever see it but I just had to say thank you Jenny!!!

DH and I went to Publix today and picked up a package of the Superpretzels for an afternoon snack. Of course I used my coupons and spent $.49 for 6 pretzels. DH likes salt on his, but I like cinnamon sugar. Well that wasn’t a problem today because last week I got a cinnamon sugar McCormick grinder for free. So not only did you help me get the pretzels for $.08 a piece, but the cinnamon sugar to put on top for free.

I am just amazed by this.

stupid curly’s coupon won’t print page size!! grrrr…it only prints over 3 pages!! i have tried doing “fit to page” but to no avail. no bbq for us!

Thanks for all you do Jenny!

Gosh, all this talk over calling corporate, districts managers & so on sounds a little extreme to me. It appears like each store can accept which competitors are closest to them. I wouldn’t want a blanket corporate policy because then some may not make the list. Remember the people working, work hard to take care of all customers and unfortunately a few bad apples(those being dishonest with coupons) spoil the bunch. Let’s keep this in mind on Labor Day. Thank you Publix employees!!!!

    • robin

Where do we find the FL meat coupon? The link is not found and the section with the food lion coupons does not have it in it?

    • robin

      Thanks Jenny!!
Your site has been such a blessing to my family and the friends I have brought to it!!

    • Jenna

Jennifer #201–I agree. It’s a little extreme and possibly counterproductive to call corporate over a coupon policy. Each store manager gets to set the coupon policy for the store. Employees aren’t just “making up” their own policies. If you ask to speak to a store manager you can solve your question in the store, immediately, without going over the head of the store manager. It’s the people getting pushy about coupons that make the rest of us look bad and also possibly jeopardizes such great Publix deals. If I were a store manager, and customers kept calling my boss instead of talking to me in the store, I’d probably just stop allowing coupons altogether, or at the very least stop allowing any competitor’s coupons just to avoid any questions or problems.
