raiseIt’s back to school season!

When I was a kid, I loved back to school season because it meant I got to shop for a couple of new outfits and new school supplies with my mom.  As a parent, I don’t love it as much… Back to school season can get expensive pretty quickly, especially with 5 daughters.  They may all be girls who can wear hand-me-downs, but hand-me-downs only last so long before they fall apart after a few girls.  Plus, my oldest girls are growing out of their clothes every time I turn around, so I always need new things for them.  This year we need dresses, long sleeve shirts and more pants for my older girls.  My younger girls only need a few new shirts.  My go-to to save on clothing on a tight budget is to start with Raise.com.

Raise is a website where you can buy gift cards at a discounted price.  This year I decided to grab a Raise gift card to Kmart.  Get $5 off your first order from Raise.com when you use code ssavers.  You can also pair this with coupon code SAVE5 if you are new user to get an additional $5 off any $25+ gift card.

For example if you use these two deals together you could grab $50 to Kmart (or lots of other stores) and you’ll end up paying $37 for it!  You still have $50 to spend on back to school gear at Kmart.  You can use coupons with it and lots of other promos in the store or online, but you didn’t have to spend $50!  You are already saving 26% off starting with Raise and coupons!

Now that we have our gift card to Kmart… it’s time to find the deals!!

Kmart has a lot of great sales and discounts running on top of already low prices for clothing and gear,  Plus through 9/10 you can get $10 back in Shop in Your Way points for every $35 spent on Back to School items.  This includes backpacks, office and school supplies, children’s, young men, and juniors apparel, computer storage and accessories, and many other electronic items.

To get the best deal possible with this promotion I did something a little on the crazy side.  You can earn up to $100 back in points with the deal sooo… I brought items in $35 batches.  You’ll get free shipping on orders over $35 and earn your $10 back in points for each order!!  So I bought 4 different orders each around $35-$39.  Total we spent $150 (which Raise.com had given me, so huge thanks to them for our fall wardrobes) and I’ll get back $40 in Shop Your Way Rewards points!!

Save even more while you’re shopping at Kmart and use a coupon code as you check out!  Use code: BTSSTYLE to get 15% off any order or 20% off any $50 + order.

The Shop Your Way Rewards points that you get back can be used on anything in the entire store, and can also be used at Sears and Lands End.

Total I would say we ended up getting around $300 worth of clothes for $150 shopping sales and using coupons.  Plus we have $40 to spend other things we need too!!
