Well this morning shopping at WAGS was an eyeopener! Jenny I think you should check into what the manager told me and share it with all Wags shoppers. The mouthrinse is priced 4.99 at my usual store(corner of Lafayette/Calhoun, SumterSC. It was priced 7.99 at the store located at Broad/Bultman, Sumter Sc. In fact everything I bought there was priced higher. I paid out over $7 more than at my usual store. I called the 800 number and got a clueless person. I called the manager at the store at Broad/Bultman to inquire why the prices were higher. HE SAID THAT THE PRICES ARE BASED ON A DEMOGRAPHICS AND TIERING STRUCTURE. THE STORE ON LAFAYETTE IS A “LOW INCOME” STORE AND THAT IS WHY THE PRICES ARE CHEAPER. I thanked him and told him I would inform all my shopping buddies so they could shop at the store with lower prices! Strange thing is the “low income” store is downtown and lots of city/county employees frequent it. It is also on a heavily traveled highway so it is convenient for shoppers on their way to work or school. Please check into this tiered pricing thing !

Well, I have seen the opposite. When I lived in NY, a friend informed me that staples at the inner city stores were higher. So I checked it out and the eggs and milk at a couple of the stores were much higher than the stores where I lived. Not fair at all.

I paid $6.99 for this mouth rinse. I guess I need to check another Walgreens to see if the price is less.
