Weekly Weigh In

I’m happy to say that I didn’t gain weight this week.  It is always tough when you are outside of your normal routine and eating out more than normal.  Being away for set-up and during the Becoming Conference we had a lot of “off diet” meals like pizza, subs and many other quick things to grab that feed a number of people.  I also didn’t get out to run like I hoped (though most days I never sat down).

Getting home and stepping on the scale and seeing that it didn’t budge was a happy moment.  It’s not all about losing, for me it’s also been about choosing wisely and good portion sizes even when I’m on my own and not eating diet food.  It gives me hope that when I do reach the final goal I can maintain it!

This weeks numbers:

Starting Weight (21 weeks ago): 202
Last Week: 175.2
Current Weight: 175
Goal Weight: 165

I also wanted to share something I mentioned a few weeks ago but heard last night while watching the Olympics.  Katie Ledecky, who easily swam past her own record to set a new world record time, when asked what her secret was said “Everyone always asks this.  What’s my secret?  There is no secret.  It’s a lot of hard work, and determination.”  AMEN!  I had two people ask me yesterday what my secret was and when I say it is just counting calories and trying to exercise 4-5 times a week that is never what they want to hear.   Sorry guys.  Every one will try to sell a magic pill for things, but normally the solution to most things to the good ole fashioned hard work answer.

I have exactly 4 weeks left to hit my goal, which is 10 lbs away.  This is the hunker down and get it done point!
