I always wait until the last day to go to Publix for the sale and end up with at least 6 rainchecks. When will I learn? LOL!
• Carrie
Sometimes the rainchecks are better. For example, I got a raincheck for Hostess Donuts (one of those things I NEED when they are on sale, not just want - but that's beside the point) when they were BOGO. Since they rarely have coupons, I don't have to worry about any coupons expiring. So now, I'm just waiting until they go on a regular sale and then use my BOGO raincheck to get them cheaper than if I had gotten them the week they were truely BOGO to begin with. So, rainchecks can be a good thing.

Have a couple of questions. 1) there was a coupon from Publix for BOGO Neosporin Lip Health and then a coupon in the paper for $1.00 off one. Has anyone done this deal and is it cheap? (My Publix is not that close) 2) The BOGO Publix coupon for Frusion Fruit Smoothie stacked with the paper coupon for 3) Won the Party at Your House Digiorno they sent $4 coupons for the pizza and bread sticks combo pack. Has anyone seen these and do you know if they are part of the Funny In Ad Publix deal this week? $4 off could make it an even sweeter deal.

Just had a great trip to Publix - even on the last day of the sale, still found most of what I needed, with rainchecks for those that were out. However, I FORGOT to have them use my sale ad for the -$3 for the milk, GM Cereal and Nature Valley item. Any one know if I can take the receipt back and have them adjust it? I actually thought it would auto deduct, but didn't realize I had to treat it like a real coupon. My loss I guess. Anyway, it was a fabo trip - paid $71 and saved $76!

If I have a coupon for BOGO Free Ken's Dressing and the store has the dressing on sale for BOGO does this mean I get both FREE?

Thanks!
• Carrie
Typically it should, but if you're referring to the BOGO coupon that I think you are, it is for the 8 oz and the BOGO sale is for the 16 oz, so it wouldn't work.

Any ideas of who or where I can donate the Sundown Naturals Vitamin D? We dont use it, but it was a money maker :)
• Carrie
Our local food bank takes vitamins/OTC medicines, make-up, diapers, toiletries, etc. I have been told that if they can't use them then they find someone who can. For example: the local women's shelter would have need for toiletries, make-up and diapers among other things. I have also been told that whatever I feel like donating, they will make sure it gets to someone who needs it.

Just wanted to say "Thank You!" for giving me the best deal possible. Feeding a family of 6 can be expensive.

I just found this website a couple of weeks ago and have been lurking....

I finally put together my list along with coupons and did my Publix shopping today. I brought most of the items listed above and was able to save $104.47, spent $54.45 (w/tax). What a deal! Thank you so much.
• ashley4
Can someone tell me if they feel like the huggies wipes is a good deal at publix? I have both coupons to make the refill $3.74
• That's a very good deal if you have both coupons.
• sheba18
Where do you get the advantage Buy Flyer?
• LindaK
You need to ask at the customer service desk for the Advantage Buy flyer.
• sheba18
Hi! OK Thanks!!
• Carrie
Should be in a turnstyle when you first walk in the store. There will be two of them, one yellow and one green. If you don't see them, ask Customer Service.

Hi! Thanks for your help.

Here's what I need help with related to coupons and buying in bulk, I don't have the storage space to buy tons of extras every week. What do others do?
Second, in regards to menu planning - I'm impressed with the savings listed but I'm still confused over what combination of these items can be used to cook 3 meals a day for a family of 5 for a week. My husband wants meat at every meal and I am trying to cook a little more healthy and choosing less processed foods. Any tips on how to incorporate coupons with specific menus and a little more healthy snack choices for my kids? Thanks!
• chelizabeth
I have the same problem that you do with the space. I do NOT have space for 20 boxes of cereal or 40 bags of veggies! Nor do I have extra space (or extra money) for another freezer. My mother buys items in bulk and has groceries all over the house. I refuse to allow my house to turn into a pantry! Ideas would be great, but I still don't think I'll ever be able to buy so much of a particular item, I don't care how cheap it is. They (or a VERY similar item) will be on sale again in just a few weeks.

Diaper deal at Publix

Here is a scenario for some cheap Pampers (or Huggies) diapers at Publix:

Buy
(1) Pampers big box of diapers $19.99
(2) Sundown Naturals Vitamin D $2.99
(1) Filler item under $1 (needed because most Publixes don't allow more coupons than items)

Use
$3/1 Publix-in ad coupon on pampers diapers
$2/1 Pampers manf. coupon from various sources
$6/2 Publix store coupon on vitamins from March to Savings
$3/2 Sundown naturals vitamins

Pay about $13 - for a big pack of diapers, 2 vitamins, and a filler item. The overage for the vitamins goes towards the diapers :)
• clw2283
That is definitely an awesome deal!! I am going to try it tomorrow. Thanks!!!
• Aly B
Aren't the Scrubbing Bubbles, Windex and Pledge participating products for the $5 SC Johnson rebate? If so, makes the deal even sweeter!
• Charity
I saw the Sundown Vit. D at the Publix in Snellville, but they weren't 3.49. Is there a specific milligram amount that I should be looking for?
• Baz
Look for the 400IU bottles. At my store they are at $2.99.
• Leah_in_SC
I did my Publix trip yesterday and found some deals I thought were worth sharing.

The Powerade 8 pks had peelies on them for $1/1 making them $1.99 (regularly $5.99)! The Atkins shake coupons I had from SS 1/03 were for $1.50/1 making them only $3 (regulary $7+)! The Tylenol cold daytime liquid I was going to buy anyway with the Green Advantage Flyer $2/1 store q (because I'm miserably sick and needed it right then) had a manu q hanging on it for $2/1, making it $2.99 (regularly $6.99). The Rosetto cheese ravioli with tomato basil sauce was marked down to $1 and my q was for $1.50/2 so I paid $.25 each (some of you have $1/1 qs which would make it free). What else - oh I found a peelie on my strawberries for $1 off wyb cool whip (which the big tubs were on sale for $2). And one of the employees I know saw me with a bag of Fast Fixin chicken tenders (I was going to stack a store and manu q for $2 off - the store q expires this week)...well he told me to hold off because he *thought* they would be bogo this week. I'm hoping he is right...that will make them $.99 after sale and qs. I spent more than usual this week, probably because I was sick and just didn't really care too much, but I did SAVE $146. :)
• 3monkeysmom
Thanks for the heads-up about the Fast-Fixin Chicken :-) I hope he was right, I've been waiting for an oppurtunity to use the q's I have for those.

anyone know the zip for the steam fresh meals?

Jenny, I wish you would suspend all comments until people quit their.... well you know. This is the second post I've been on in as many days and nothing but a ton of complaints!!! I used to enjoy reading through the comments because everyone was so HELPFUL and rarely would anyone complain, and now? I'm just going to pretend there is no comment section. Good grief people.

I'm not seeing the Dixie cups coupon in RP 3/14. Am I missing something? The cover of mine has coupons for Aussie and Herbal Essences products. I found the GP rebate offer online, but I don't have the RP coupon. Any ideas?

Thanks for all the fabulous info here at Southern Savers! :)

I wanted to post something positive for dog owners since majority of posts are complaints and venting. I was in my Publix last night and they had pet flyers by the turnsatnd when you walk in for different Publix pet coupons. One of them was for $3 off any one bag of Purina dog food. You can stack this with the Man. $3 Q to get $6 off a bag. I know the smaller bags run $6.99 which would then come to .99 a bag! Great for small dog owners! My only problem is I left my flers in my cart last night. Oh well, I will just go back today to get some. They had plenty and I have 4 Publix within a 5 mile radius of my house.
• chelizabeth
Ooh Ooh!!! Pet owner here! Is there a title or anything on this flyer? I found one a couple of weeks ago, but didn't have 3$ off on there. So, it might be a different one! I'm LOVING cheap dog food. I used to faithfully buy the Wal-mart Ol'Roy brand bc I thought even with coupons you wouldn't find it cheaper. But I have found differently lately. Poor dogs have different food every few weeks but oh well, they'll eat it if they are hungry!
• melindaruth
I purchased the deal today with the Scrubbing Bubbles $3.29, Windex $3.39, and Pledge Wipes $3.29. I used all the suggested coupons and ended up paying $1.15 per product. On the bottle of Windex there was a special rebate offer from SCJohnson. You get the rebate if you buy three of the participating products. The three items above are all on the list so I am going to mail it in and make some profit. This rebate offer has been going on since last September but it is still good through June 2010. There is a limit of three $5.00 rebates per household so if you already did this offer once you may be able to get it again! SCJohnson.com/value to print the rebate form.
Tip: When you are checking out make sure that the cashier uses the correct coupon code on the Publix store coupon to get the $4.00 off. There are two codes on the coupon one is for $2.00 off the first two products and the second is for the deal with three products. The cashier that rang me up messed up but it was easily fixed. Just make sure to watch! Good Luck
• Lucy
Thanks so much, I use all of these products and was going to do the deal anyway, now I'm super excited about the rebate. And I can do it three times. Yay!!! I also have some receipts from Glade products from a month ago, so that's another $5 for me. Thanks so much :)
• shaunascoupons
Thanks Melinda! I wasn't going to do this deal at first but now I am excited about it with the rebate!

what zip are you using for the Birdseye meal 1.50q?

I think the coupon is out of prints. I printed one 3 weeks ago on my zip and now it's gone.

Barilla Piccolini pasta was $1.39 in my store, use 2 $0.55/1 coupons from SS 3/07, get each both boxes for less than 30 cents :)
• Lucy
Sundown Vitamin D were $2.99 in my store, buy 2, use $6/2 in-ad coupon, get both for free. Better yet, also use the $3/2 printable, and make $3 profit from buying these!

Sundown Vitamin B6 is $3.49, buy 2, use $6/2 in-ad coupon and $3/2 printable, and still make $2 profit :)

I need some advice from the season couponers. Here is what happened. Yesterday i went to Publix for what i wanted to be a small shop, but i had coupons for everything i picked it, and some of them i had store and MQ. The guy kept messing up my coupons, one coupon i wrote him for him it was for a free item $6.99 he only put in .99c so i told him and he fixed it, so from then on i looked at the display to see what he was putting in, looking back a few times to see how many coupons he rang up. Well he gets to a point and he said the machine wont take any more coupons because you have more coupons than items and he gets a manager. When the manager gets there he told her only 2 coupons did not go through which were the two coupons for the buy these two plus this and get this much off. I think they were more coupons but he mixed them all in so i could not tell if he rang all of them. Manager starts sorting through the coupons and questioning me how many yogurts did you get how many of these etc, i answered her with no problems i had 8 yo plus and 8 coupons. Then she gives me my total, which seem way off from what i thought but i figured i must have miscalculated or perhaps he did not ring up all my coupons. Anyway i am about to slide my card and she pulls out the free greek yogurt coupon and ask me if thats a copy????i tell her yes and tell her the name of the site where it came from , i was thinking really u think i would copy a coupon for a $1.19 coupon?? and i had customers behind me. So i came home and its been bothering me since yesterday. He did not ring up my .30 coupon for yogurt, and i had a b1g2Free which should have been 2.58 he only put it 2.50 and the highest he could have been was 2.99 so it makes me wonder what else did he miscalculate or dit not put it in. Also if a coupon does not qualify shouldn't he give it back to me? How do you guys figure it out while at the store if all your coupons were rang up???Any advice would be great.

thanks
JJ
• cathy
I usually hand my coupons one at a time to the cashier. If they comment or give me a "look", I politely stand my ground. If there were to be a problem, I probably would tell them about how hard I work to find, cut out and match up the coupons. Consequently, I like to make sure they count.

I have unintentionally been shorted coupons during checkout at various stores. Handing the coupons one at a time to the cashier, allows me (and the cashier) to see that they are entered correctly.
• Tina
Been in a similar situation before. It is very frustrating. Making 2 or 3 trips helps me better monitor the accuracy of the coupons, especially during a great sale. Also, I generally stay away from pdf file coupons (adobe reader coupons) because they look photocopied and are not worth the hassel of the cashier, customer service manager, etc. "nicely" accusing me of copying coupons.

I literally place my items on the confayer belt in the exact order that I give my coupons to the cashier. Yes, it takes more time, but makes monitoring my order much easier. It also saves the cashier time if they want to match everything together. Best of all, it makes me appear that I have nothing to hide.

Once I got in my favorite cashiers line only to have her replaced, just before my order, with an ornery, not-to-pleasant older cashier who literally laid out all my items to match them with the coupon. In doing so, she dropped coupons, unorganized them, and questioned coupon wording. Many coupons say "one coupon per item", so she argued that I couldn't combine it with a Publix coupon. I do think she knew better because she has worked there for several years. I genuinely felt harassed.

Making friends with your favorite cashier is helpful, but those folks are not always working. As couponers we have to realize that we will encounter those people from time to time.
• Tina
Oops..that's conveyer belt, not confayer belt! :)
• momto2boys
I've never had that hard a time at publix, but I did have a cashier spread all my coupons out like cards and match them up as they went along. Which took forever. If they don't use your coupon then they should give them back to you, they will submit them and get their money, but you didn't get yours :( I would try to find a different cashier next time or a different store, some are more coupon friendly than others. As long as you are following the rules you shouldn't have any issues. Also if you can find a copy of the stores official coupon policy it helps to carry it with you, so that if you have any issues you can clear them up...
• Lucy
I had a similar problem at Publix a couple of days ago. Bought 1 box of Pampers and 1 box of Huggies diapers, used 2 store coupons and 2 manf. coupons, and the guy said I could only use 2 since I had more coupons than items... so I suggest getting some filler items, something that you need. Also, like Lynette said in the reply, it helps to divide the trips into 2 or 3. I know that's a waste of gas and time, but it really helps. And the third suggestion is to find a good cashier and "make friends" with her. I have one gal in my Publix who knows me and all my coupons. Every time, I smile and tell her, "I'm back with all my coupons :)" And she never has any problems with them. Finding a good cashier and always going to her/him always helps.
• Lynette
I have had similar problems in the past. What I do now is I divide my trips into 2 (sometimes 3) where I can manage all my items and coupons better. Visually it's better for me and the cashier with a fewer amount of items and mistakes are easier and faster to catch this way.
Keep on saving! :)
• Lynette
Good morning al!
I am getting ready to go to Publix and I have a quick question I hope someone can answer before I go

For the Cheerios/Milk/Granola in ad coupon deal - can I buy just the cereal cups? It is written on the coupon BUT I wanted to make sure.

I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks :)
• Barbara
Help, I can't find the Dixie product coupons in the RP 1/24. Any help, maybe another date they are in? Thanks so much for your help, in advance.
• Carrie
Go to "The Coupon Clippers". There you can look up what coupon you want and it will tell you the date it came out. Hope that helps.
• noleinfla
Awesome day at Publix in Summerville!! They used the Harris Teeter coupons in conjunction with the Rite aid $5 off $25! With coupons and all spent $18.97 on $79.47!!!! Thanks for all the info...keep up the awesome job:)
• anonymous
I think people are missing the point. The people who are upset or "venting" are upset because they feel that people who buy 30 toothbrushes or 100 boxes of cookies and getting them for pennies are reselling these items at other venues i.e. ebay, flea markets, etc etc. I don't think most people have problems when someone buys in "bulk" when they are feeding their families or donating these items. I think that some of us feel that those who are doing this are endangering our couponing futures for fear that the stores will continue to make it harder and harder to get a good deal.
• Tina
Really...people sale these deals on ebay? Wow, never thought of doing that. Guess it might be a good way to get rid of all the overstock I have in my pantry! JK :)
• rlackey618
I had a terrible experience at Publix in Alabaster, AL yesterday. They are so critical of all coupon shopping. The cashier held up the entire line by analizing EVERY coupon (I bought over $100 worth of groceries and paid $30 so that was a lot of coupons)She made me feel like a criminal and even called over a manager to make sure some coupons were "legal", they were STORE COUPONS, of course they were legal. The manager then told me that they were extra strict on coupon fraud. WOW i felt like a criminal! i was mortified. Well I guess sometimes that just part of it. I had a great trip to Walgreens and Rite Aid that made up for it. Anyway, the SUNDOWN vitamins coupon $6/2 store coupon are great. The Vitamin D is only 2.99 so with that coupon alone they a FREE! Just want to let y'all know!
• Brooke82
Exactly what do they do if you commit coupon fraud??? I wouldn't do that myself but I was just wondering. Do they just not let you use the Q's or is it illegal? lol
• Snowski824
Jenny posted something a few months ago about fraudulent coupons and some of them could result in prosecution if you get caught creating fraudulent coupons.
• chelizabeth
I don't think you get arrested or anything!!! lol....I'm sure they will just not let you use the coupon. The problem is though, that the more people that try to use fraudulent coupons (just for the record, I'm not saying ANYONE on here is...just saying) the harder stores are going to crack down to those of us who are actually being honest. It stinks, but unfortunately there are people out there that try it =(
• Amanda
I shop at the Alabaster Publix. I've found that the younger cashiers are much better to work with than the older women. I've only had one bad trip and now I avoid that cashier.
• rlackey618
I have noticed that too but this was worse than usual. I'm glad someone else understands!
• savedollars
Great deal ... If you need 18 jars of sauce ... have your husband snipped! (e.g., "LOL")!

Let's put this in perspective . . . it's just groceries. Calm down, chill, find your zen, say a prayer and focus on what you are doing and not everyone else. It makes life a whole lot easier.

Jenny, there's a Georgia Pacific mail-in rebate out that include Dixie cups and more. The rebate is here: http://www.gp.com/everydayessentials/rebate.html

I can't find the YoPlus coupons in the SS ad listed above. Is that the correct date? Any ideas on where to find some additional coupons?
• Hi, it's the SS insert, 2/7, but look for the General Mills one, the one with the black cover, and the race car on it.
• Misty
I have a vent. Wed I had a great trip to publix. Spent 35 and saved 70. This included the tide in ad coupon deal. I realized how great that deal was and then wanted to go back to publix today and do it again. I went to a different publix and they would not let me use the in ad coupon for buy tide, downy and tide stain release and the manf coupon of get tide stain release free. It just frustrated me so much. The cashier and the manager acted like I was using two free coupons when the store coupon does not say anything about using other coupons, it just stated to get 8 dollars off. I should not be so aggravated because I get so many great deals, but needed to vent. Thanks Jenny for all you do!
• momto2boys
I think you should contact corporate about that one....

Wow ... was hoping to find a valid print zip for the Birdseye Steamfresh Meals for 2 Manf Q, but can't find it amongst the dialouge happening here tonight ...
• kathy
Have you had any luck locating a good zip? I have been trying for days.
• Melissa H
Nope ... The only thing I have found so far was on krazykouponlady's site and she had her link crossed out with a side note saying the Q was no longer available ...
• amycorene
For those soy & almond milk lovers out there, I noticed today 3/12 that the Silk brand was still on sale 2 for 5.00, this is a great deal. The blinkies are still in the store, and you could use the $1.00 off 1 coupon that came out a while ago (or order a pack pretty cheap from ebay). Probably the best deal you're gonna find!
• Friends, can we please remember that this part of SS is a resource for us and that the comments are a great place to find links to additional coupons and info about other store specials. Since we all talk about how long it can take to plan with coupons and we all know time=money when you are a couponer, could generic comments about how much stockpiling is too much, what's fair and what's not go on the Facebook fan wall so we can keep the comments related to the current sale, helpful, and quick to scan? Thanks!
• emily_hope
I went to our local Publix today. The Edge/Skintimate shave gels were $1.97 each and were BOGO. I got them for .98/.99 cents each.

Ladies - Do you know if the sales get any better on Easter candy as it gets closer to the holiday or should I buy the candy now.
• ireneY
There's probably more Qs coming out later. Also, CVS seems to have better deals with ECB back. Their sale bags are smaller and cheaper so you'll get better discounts when matching Qs to items. MTCW!
• andrea
This answer may already be here somewhere, so I apologize if I'm asking this twice - does anyone know if you can use a competitor coupon and a manufacture coupon for the same item? The Soft Scrub Total is on sale for $2.50 and I have a $1.50 mfr printable as well as a Target $1 printable, which would make it free. Will this work? I know my store won't accept a Publix and competitor coupon for the same item, but wasn't sure about competitor + mfr. This would be a great deal for everyone to print out if it works (assuming someone hasn't stockpiled on cleaners! ha ha!) So, does anyone know? Thanks!
• khangy
andrea, it may depend on your store (so ask to be sure when you get there) but my Publix treats a competitor coupon as a store coupon - so they do allow me to stack with a manuf. q
• diana
Hello everyone! I recently learned of this site about 3 weeks ago and am LOVING IT!! However, it does take me a few hours to get organized...my list, coupons printed...etc. I am hoping to get FASTER in the upcoming weeks though.:) But I do have a few questions..... Where do I find the PG coupons? Also, if it says SS 1/07..does that mean Smart Source? But what does the date after it mean? Any help, advice, and/or suggestions are GREATLY APPRECIATED. PS. I went to Publix the other night just to get a few things...my total was 43.68...after coupons $13.61!!! BOTH my son and I were so excited!! Thank you :)
• khangy
Hi Diana,

There are three inserts that are found in Sunday papers - not always at once.

SS - Smart Source
PG - Proctor and Gamble
RP - Red Plum

The date after the acronym means the date that the insert was placed in the paper. As you start buying papers and obtaining inserts these dates will become very important for indentifying where the coupon you need is. I don't ever clip my coupons, but instead keep the insert in a file folder with the date that it came out written on the front cover (be sure you check the back side to make sure you're not writing on the back of a coupon because when you cut it out, the date will be gone with it!)

Go to Jenny's "Getting Started" tab at the top of her banner. It's very helpful!
• diana
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!! I will buy Sunday's paper :)
• Tom
The PG is a newspaper insert like SS (smart source). The date is the publication date of the ad. Are you in FL?
• Diana
yes Tom, I live in the Jax area.
• Molly
There are $1 off coupons on Target's coupon site for Energizer batteries.
