Sweet Tea and the South just go together.  Lately in our house though we’ve had to make a few changes thanks to the Keto diet and trying to not have any added sugar… the loss of sweet tea has been felt deeply.

We have come up with two keto friendly replacements though! Oh and don’t forget that tea is already a zero calorie drink.

#1 – Take a few blackberries and raspberries chop them up and add the tea.  They add a hint of extra flavor, but mostly add the missing sweetness. Welcome back to our favorite drink!  Adding in 2 blackberries and 2 raspberries adds maybe 1 carb though many tracking programs would say 0.

#2 – If you aren’t a berry person then add a spring of crushed mint.  The mint adds a fun kick that make your taste buds forget the sugar wasn’t there!

We’ve been using Lipton Green tea to get an extra caffeine boost in the morning, and Lipton decaffeinated in the afternoon.  They also make Lipton Green tea with fruit flavors (though I still like the fun of adding my extra berries).
