The end of the year is a wonderful time to look ahead but also to look back on the previous year. I love asking my kids and myself questions that challenge use to reflect on the last year. I came up with a list of 10 questions that my family members and I can all answer as we sit around and wait for the ball to drop on New Year’s Eve. You could record the answers to these questions digitally, or in a notebook, and then look back on them next year! Even if you don’t use all of them, any one of these will probably start some good discussion.

10 Questions for New Year’s Eve that Parents and Kids Can Answer

Here are the 10 questions that I came up with:

  • What was my favorite memory from this year?
  • What is one thing I am proud of accomplishing?
  • What was a challenge I faced, and how did I handle it?
  • What made me feel happy or excited the most?
  • What is one thing I learned this year?
  • What was a moment I felt brave or tried something new?
  • What is one way I helped someone else this year?
  • What made me feel frustrated or sad, and what helped me feel better?
  • What is one habit or routine that made my life better?
  • What is one thing I would like to remember about this year?

I also turned this into a fun printable so you can have a hard copy. I hope these questions help you and your family connect with each other as you enter the new year!
