This time of year can be so hectic, and sometimes once the holidays are over, trying to get back to normal life can be difficult. I like doing little things here and there to try to reduce future chaos, so I came up with a plan of things I can do as I’m in my home this month. These are 10 tiny tasks to do now to make January easier!
10 Tiny Tasks to Do Now to Make January Easier

Delete 50 e-mails
If you’re someone who lets things pile up, this will feel really good. Consider using Unroll.me in the new year. It will gather all your emails each day into a daily digest.
Choose a financial goal for January
December can be an expensive month, so many people like having some kind of goal for January. You could do a no-spend month or week, set a goal for spending in one category (like groceries), or choose not to buy certain items in the month of January (clothes, etc.).

Clean out bags
This includes backpacks, purses, and even car consoles (which aren’t technically bags). Throw things away and restock where necessary.
Back things up
You don’t have to back everything up! Just choose one thing, like financial documents or your photos.

Declutter 10 items
This can take less than 5 minutes. Put them all in a bag and drop them off at a donation center when you’re out running errands.
Have a 10-minute “January” brain dump
Grab a pen and a piece of paper write down all the things you need to schedule or do in January. Then put the list somewhere safe!

Check household inventory
Look through your personal care and household items and note what you’re close to running out of. Make a list, if needed, or just take mental note.
Unfollow 5-10 people on social media
This is something all of us can stand to do regularly. Start with unfollowing people you don’t know personally–is it really important to follow a bunch of influencers or celebrities (especially if they’re pushing you to buy things!). Once you get started, you might end up unfollowing even more.

Make (or update) a list of everyone’s sizes
I like to use a note on my phone for this. I keep track of everyone’s sizes for clothing, shoes, etc. This will make returns and clearance shopping easier in the new year.
Refresh your bathroom drawers
This is something that not everyone will see but that will make you so happy. Throw away boxes, toss out anything that’s broken, and restock items if necessary.
