Heads up for anyone that regularly (or semi annually) shops at Walgreens.  They’re changing their rewards program, with a minor sounding change that will have big impacts for deals.

Starting November 4th, you will only be able to redeem $5 worth of points (5,000) per transaction.  Only one little change…

Really for us in coupon land this is a big game changer.  Currently if you save up to 40,000 points they are worth $50, that bonus will no longer exist.  Plus deal wise if you buy a deal that gives you 10,000 points you would have to do two transactions to use them all.

If you have a number of points (I currently have 78,000) make sure to redeem them before the cut off while they are still more valuable.  Sounds like it’s time for a Walgreens shopping spree!

After your shopping spree, head over to CVS.  You’ll love it there.
