I shared this with you guys a few weeks ago when we released the Office Max Black Friday ad, but I don’t want you to miss this deal!

Today on OfficeMax.com you can get my favorite printer the Brother 2240 for $49.99!  Add in a pack of pink pearl erasers for $1 and you’ll even get FREE shipping!

This printer comes with toner to print around 700 sheets and then for about $20 you can get a high yield replacement toner that will print 2000 sheets!!

That’s a ton of coupons…

You can also get 6% cash back with Ebates!

    • This is good to combine with the LivingSocial offer.

      • Emily Amberson

The only problem is that the LivingSocial offer isn’t available until 11/28. How long will the printer be on sale?

    • Miss_afb

does it come in wireless?  and where do u get the $20 high yield replacement toner?

      • They do have a wireless version but on sale it gets down to $99 if you can catch it.  I use these wirelessly though in my house just plugging it into a router.  The toner replacements will get with great cash back deals or on amazon.

        • Miss_afb

than you. now im off to figure out how to plug it into a router lol

          • Gamblesonsfarms

            how did you do this?

        • Jen

Yes!  I have been “watching” thesse, and was so thrilled to see it in the ads!  Ordered!  I got so tired of paying $50 for inkjet cartridges every few months! :(.  Okay Jenny.  I think we’re ready for a tutorial on plugging this into a router! :)  That would rock! ;)

        • Gamblesonsfarms

Jenny, please share with us how to use this printer wirelessly…I looked at all the hook ups on mine and couldn’t figure it out.

        • jennifer

After researching online. . . it appears that you must have a wireless router that supports USB connections.  Mine doesn’t.  But, still super thrilled about my deal! :)  It arrives today.

Get the wireless one instead for almost the same price.  It’s a Black Friday deal online. I saw it yesterday.

      • Emily Amberson

Where did you see the wireless one? All the ones I found were $150+.

    • Aunt_arwen

would love to know where to get the $20 toner

    • gkhtoys

I LOVE THIS PRINTER!  I bought one last year and I simply LOVE it!  I’ve replaced the cartridge twice in a year and a half!  You can get $17 replacement cartridges at meritline.

    • Eboxley

Do they non brother ink cartridges work? I was concerned about that the only time I bought one and it was $45.

    • Michele

The best way to save on the cost of replacement cartridges is to trick the cartridge you currently have into thinking that it’s still full of ink. When the toner beeps, it will not allow any more prints, but if you override the sensor light, the cartridge will continue to print for a very long time. Cover the sensor holes on the sides of the cartridges with a piece of black electrical tape, a solid colored sticker worked for me or just a piece of scotch tape colored over with black sharpie should work. I am still using the sample cartridge that came with the printer and I bought it over 6 months ago!

Brother HL-2240 Printer – Toner Cartridge TN-420, Black (Standard)
Yes, you can extend the life of the toner — There is a very good website I use to help troubleshoot printer problems I may have and also suggestions to extend the toner life of your toner cartridge.   Actually, they list several brands of printers.   FixYourOwnPrinter (dot) com / forums / laser / 39806, (take out the spaces).  Hope that helps somebody.
And most important, change your printer settings to ‘Toner Save Mode’ – this will help extend the life of your toner as well.

where are these sensors, tried covering the only plastic covered sensor and still got the toner low message. I covered where the sticker is that says removing will void warranty. don’t see anything else

update – returning the cartridge to save an extra $13 (free shipping) at Amazon.  I can’t believe how much $ you can waste if you don’t know all the tricks to this!
