Citrus Lane Deal

Score an awesome box of kids toys and gear from Citrus Lane right now.  This is a monthly box program, that sends trendy toys and gadgets for your kiddo based on their age and gender.

If you’ve never gotten a Citrus Lane box now is the time to try it out.  Use code SAVING20 or SPRING20 at checkout.  Screen Shot 2014-02-22 at 6.42.25 PM

That will bring it down to $9 shipped.  You could never buy the items in the box for that price.

The fun part is the most of them are trendy up and coming products, so it’s great way to try things you would normally have never heard about.

Citrus Lane: Top Kids Gear at 50% off with Free Shipping

It’s a monthly subscription, but if you want to cancel you can do that at any point by filling out an online form.  You can keep the box you got and won’t be charged or shipped any further boxes.

Have any of you gotten a box?  Share what you thought of yours.

Would the $9 be the price for every month, or just 1 month?

      • Ash

Good question!! I was wondering the same thing!

        • lynn

from the looks of the screen shot above it seems like the subscripstion price is $29.00 per month and this is just a one time “sale” or promotion.

        • mrs b

Lynn is correct; but they do offer discounts if you subscribe for 3, 6, or 12 months. The box we got (on sale, thanks Jenny!) was great–the aden + anais burp cloth alone was worth more than I paid for the box. We got 2 toys, food sample, lotion sample, the burp cloth, and a voucher for picture postcards that could be sent from your phone pics (their regular price was $1 apiece, I believe).
I think I paid $12 and easily got $30+ worth of items.

I like that it is based on child’s age. I wish it was in our budget to get the year subscription because I loved everything that we got.

      • It is just the price for the first month. You would want to cancel to not get anymore at the full price.

I got one box at half price and liked it (thanks, Jenny!), so my Mom got a 6 month subscription for my son for Christmas. They were having a promotion for a free $50 shop credit with the subscription which was already discounted to around $18 dollars per month. I also got a $10 credit on my account when she used my referral link. After 3 months, honestly some boxes are better than others but have ranged in value from $41-$51 from my calculations of regular retail of items. I probably wouldn’t have bought some of the items if not part of the box and some items i felt were not age appropriate but the books are nice and always some kind of toy/puzzle and a product for Mama :) Also there was a mix-up with pausing the monthly subscription I was paying for and I ended up getting an extra box for free. YAY!

I got 1 box for my 18 month old boy for the $15 deal posted about a month ago. I feel so so about it. Here is what I got and what I would have paid for it outright separately. Total I would have been happy to pay $9 for everything but definitely not the $29.

Juice Beauty Green Apple 2oz organic lotion Retail value $12 – Good smelling, good for the diaper bag or car. It is worth about $1 to me.

Blue 3 section plate – I don’t really like plates that don’t stack with my other plates. I probably will not ever use it but I will keep it with the kids play dishes or give it away. I should not have opened the package and just given it as a gift. It’s worth $0 to me.

Stock pot with lid, spoon and spatchela. Cute but we already have a play kitchen set. I do like that it has a lid. My boy liked putting toys in then putting the lid on. Its worth $3 to me.

“Starlight Sailor” board book. $15 on amazon. My 4yr old and I really liked this book. We already have so many story books that is would be really hard to justify buying more at a retail price but I would pay $5 for this.

The total value I feel like I got was $9 and would have been more if I had saved the plate in the packaging to give away. So even for me, the current trial price is worth it. I could not pay $29 for these products and I think this box idea is much better suited for first children who don’t have a ton of toys and books already.

HOWEVER, when I went to unsubscribe (go to the faq page and click cancellation policy and the form is linked there) they offered me 3 more months at $15. If you sign up now and then cancel I wonder if they will offer you a few more months at $9… I will go ahead do the next 3 months at $15 and maybe save some stuff for baby shower or birthday gifts.

I got the same box and I was disgusted

      • Tie Dye Jen

I got this box too, but my plate was not divided (more like a shallow bowl), and instead of the pot with lid, spoon and spatula, I got Boon foam bath toys (which my son loves to play with even outside of the tub). I like that the boxes offer more natural and organic items (like the lotion). That is a nice way for me to try those types of products which I think is part of the idea of this service.

In December I was really pleased with the box: a nice board book, a Melissa and Doug large knob puzzle (which I had actually been wanting to get my son for Christmas), a handprint canvas kit and a 3.4 oz. Baby time 100% natural snuggly lotion.

Last month I was not impressed with the box. I got a Skip Hop lunch box and a plan toys shape sorter (both cute and quality but neither seemed age appropriate for a 15 mo old), a tiny sample of Dapple dish detergent (retails for $2 rather than a $10+ lotion), and a box of band aids! I was like Really?

Living Social also has a similar deal for Bluum boxes. $12 for 1 month. You can buy 2 and gift 1. Which is what I did, but honestly you could probably buy 3 for yourself since they sent me the coupon codes for all 3. The advantage is that you can use the promo code 20FEB2014 for an extra 20% off and you don’t have to cancel a subscription so you can order one box per month. I got this deal instead because I’m bad about canceling things.

    • Charity Pratt

Does anyone know if you can preview what comes in the box before you order it? I would want to know if we already have the items that would ship…

    • Tara

I signed up and tried to use the coupon code and it said it was invalid. Any idea why?

    • Anna

Same thing just happened to me as well- offer code invalid

    • Anna

      it just worked!

      • Tara

I re-tried it and still said it was invalid. Did you log out and back in or change anything???

        • Tie Dye Jen

I got an email to use March20 for the same deal

    • Ashlee

I found “SPRING20” on retailmenot, which worked for me!

    • Wendy

I absolutely loved Citrus Lane boxes! I highly recommend them!

    • tori729

I got two boxes from them and liked both. One of them had a bowl, a green toys bath ship, some lotion, etc. I was able to regift some things and save some for presents. I wouldn’t ever pay for the monthly subscription but just to try out it was nice.

    • miriamyd

Do you have any recommendations on when to cancel? Their FAQ page says not to cancel before you get your first box (March) but to cancel before the next billing cycle…
