Going Nuts? I can help you understand coupon terms and abbreviations

Here are the differences in the coupon inserts you received Sunday 1/29/12.

Click on the paper near you to see what coupons were actually in the inserts around the Southeast. Check out the differences to really get an idea of what paper is the best to buy.

A few ways to use these lists:

  1. If you see that you did not get a coupon that was released, you can go to online coupon sites and order it.
  2. Print the list for your area and keep it with your inserts to quickly know if you have that coupon.
  3. Use it as a way to decide what paper is the best paper in your area to buy.

A legend for the list:

Black = You got this coupon!
Red = Not in this insert
Blue = A change in value or a new coupon not in the preview.

is there a reason why my inserts always have different coupons from what are listed on these lists?  I get the Atl Journal.

      • Mtginp

I bought 2 ajcs this weekend and neither had a Ss.

I do not believe the Tampa Bay Times list is correct. Theres a Whole bunch of Q’s in RED for the RED Plum that I did receive and I get the same paper.

Hi Jenny, I would LOVE to keep this list of variations with my inserts however my printer is a black-ink only laser printer and because the coupons on these lists are categorized by color this doesn’t work very well unless I go through after printing the list and look back and forth between computer and the pages to highlight what I got and mark if a value was different. I’m thinking others must have the same issue with these lists..?  Not complaining because I totally appreciate EVERYTHING you and your team does…just thought I’d suggest perhaps you could consider changing the way the category is indicated. Maybe you could underline coupons that ARE included and in addition to underlining also put an asterik next to ones that are included but may have a change in value. Any coupons NOT in the insert could just be left as-is and not underlined. Again, just a suggestion…although I realize there might be a reason for using colors that I’m not thinking of. ( :

      • Perhaps you could copy and paste your list to a Word document and then make those changes before printing.  You could even delete the ones in red, so as not to waste ink. With it already color-coded, doing the entire list would only take a couple of minutes.

Great suggestion..thank you. That would be quicker than highlighting and make for an easier reference for me too. I think a lot of couponers use laser printers and it would be nice to not have this extra step but I’m not complaining because I SO appreciate the info Jenny provides!

I have the same issue and I copy and paste into excel. Then I delete the rows that don’t apply. I also use the “text to columns” feature to organize the prices and products into separate columns (but I am a dork)
