This is one of my favorite ways to stretch CVS Extracare Bucks just a little further!

Right now for every $25 CVS Gift Card you buy, they will send you a free $5 eGift card bonus!!

This is like a free $5 if you are a regular CVS shopper like I am. Since I always owe tax, I use the gift cards throughout the year to cover it and enjoy my nice little $5 bonus!

These are emailed certificates that you print and have the bar code scanned at the register like a gift card.

This is a limited time offer that they will randomly end (there is never a set time they leave it up).

How long does it take to get the free Egift card?

      • Sharon

It will come as an email along with the other gift cards that you ordered. It usually comes the same day if I’m remembering correctly. I love these, they are a great deal, and so easy to use!!!

    • Rachael

How long does it usually take to get the free card?

      • Frances

Within 24 hours. I usually got mine within a few hours. Please note these are e-mailed to you and you print them (not a plastic gift card). Some clerks take a little walking the through the directions on the e-mail. Also make sure you get the paper back if you don’t spend all $25 in one transaction.

Last time they offered this deal, I must have used the print out 15 times before my balance was all used up. I made the mistake of folding the paper in half, which was right across the barcode. I’m thinking of laminating it this time…lol

          • esyke623

I did that, too . . . now I save the original email. If my paper gets too ratty, you can reprint! :)

    • esyke623

You get both cards immediately in your email– I have been waiting for tihs all year! :)

      • Rachael

Thanks!! Me too! I missed it last year!

    • Christophersmommy

Does anyone know if you can do this more than once? My husband’s prescription meds are so expensive– and this actually works on them, unlike most coupons. I would love to do this several times to help with the medical bills, if we can.

      • Rachael

It says you can get $5 per $25 up to $130, so you can get a whhole bunch at once – but they dont do this deal often.

      • gingerinCA

Last time they offered this, I did the deal twice. Bought $150, got extra $30. Bought another $150, got an extra $30. I still have a couple left.

Does anyone know if I can use the eGift card to purchase iTunes (or any other) plastic gift cards in the store? I looked under the terms and conditions, but all I found is that one can’t use eGift cards to purchase other eGift cards.

      • You should be fine to use it as cash on anything you want in the store!

        • Guest

          OK. Thanks.

      • Julie B

In my experience, you can’t use these to pay for iTunes gift cards. Maybe it will be different this time, but I wouldn’t plan on it.

      • crystalfawn

I thought your question was a great one since I want to buy gas cards. I purchased one $25.00 e-card just to see and on it the card says “Cannot be used to purchase money orders or prepaid cards, or as payment on a credit account.”
Is a gas card a prepaid card…I kinda think so. I will take it to my CVS tomorrow and see what happens and let you know.

      • esyke623

I just wanted to let you know . . . I tried this today, and it kept beeping when I tried to use it to buy gift cards. They read all the fine print and said I couldn’t use it for gift cards– but even if the cashier tries it, it will beep on the machine and not let them do it. Just wanted to pass this along.

      • crystalfawn

Yup…No can do! I took it in today and asked the manager and he said no. Too bad :(

      • canes1999

i called customer service at CVS and they said its same as cash and you can use them for anything in the store.

    • Amy C

Can I use CVS BUCKs to purchase?

      • staci

No, you can’t, since you purchase these online.

    • esyke623

On a side note, does anyone have any luck getting the cards you print to “scan”? My cashiers always have to manually type in the card #– it never scans without the machine beeping.

      • gingerinCA

Yes, usually they stare at if for a while, and then I tell them, “I think you have to ring it as a “money card” or something like that,” and then they read the instructions, hit the correct button, scan it, and it scans.

        • esyke623

haha! Me too! I always have to explain how to do it, while they stare at me suspiciously like I created it as a counterfeit! So if they select “money card,” it scans?

          • gingerinCA

Yes, usually. I also try to make sure to print them on the decent quality setting rather than the cheapo “draft” setting that I use for most coupons. :)

      • Janelle

I have to tell the cashier to press “gift card” first, then it works for them to scan it.

    • mrsmadayar

Just snagged the deal. Wish I had enough money to do the full $150 and get an extra $30, but I had to settle for doing $50 & getting $10. Every little bit counts though, right?

    • Martha Thomas

Thanks, Jenny! Paid for $150, got $150 and $30. This will cover my couponing tax and spare change for at least a year!

    • gingerinCA

      I love CVS sooooo much!

    • Gina

I ordered on $25 egift card a few hours ago and got a conformation they received the order but no gift card in my email yet. I hope it is in my email tonight or in the morning because I need to go to CVS in the morning.

    • This has apparently ended, as I bought a card about an hour ago, and they said nothing about getting a $5 e-mail card free with it.

    • Ignore my previous comment. Now I see that this is an online, rather than in-store deal.

    • amyeke

when do i get the email certificates. I got the $150 gift card confirmation but didnt get my $30 gift card certificate

      • amyeke

never mind – just got it!

    • Betty

Got my $100 gift card with $20 gift card this morning! Great deal!! (Tempted to repeat it but don’t want to be greedy!)

    • Ed

Just got mine! Thanks Jenny! You are awesome and I can’t believe how much money you have helped me save!

    • Success! In case anyone else is wondering this- the cards do not expire.

    • Guest

Is there an expiration on the $5.00 eGift Card????

    • Kenshin0120

      Can you use these in-store?

    • mcleodsc

deal must be over-I just got a confirmation of the purchase. Still waiting for the $25 emailed card to print to use today.

    • mcleodsc

OOPS-JUST CHECKED AGAIN and they are in my emails -yea!!!

    • Allison

      Is this deal still good??

    • crystalgoodwin3

Does anyone know if this has ended?

    • beth

I purchased last night and got the ecard that I paid for but no extra. This may have ended.

    • sammiegrl

Has this ended? I don’t see where it says it will give you the $5?

    • Janelle

How do you know when they stop offering this? I clicked on the link above, and you can still buy gift cards, but it doesn’t say anything about the extra ones.
