Rubbing aloe vera gel on skin and leaving for 20mins twice daily will lighten dark spots. Will need to apply for about 4 weeks to see results. Lemon juice will also work but takes a little longer. Shared on Twitter.

Vaseline is still the best little treasure in a jar for all kinds of beauty needs. My favorite is to rub on my cuticles before going to bed at night. (Great for removing make-up too!)

    • My beauty tip is try to use products on your face that are natural as possible. I started using oils from an all natural skin care company last year and they are amazing! Acne is cleared up and my skin is no longer oily.

      in shower lotion!

    • Kimberly McBride

EXFOLIATE! It doesn’t do any good to put moisturizer or anything else on dead skin. It also doesn’t have to be expensive. I have extremely dry skin that gets flaky if I don’t exfoliate 2-3 times a week. For a long time I bought expensive microdermabrasion products which usually worked great but were harsh and I could no longer afford them. St. Ives’ scrubs work amazingly well, and you can find them at Dollar General for less than 5 bucks. Cha Ching!!

    • HTaylor

With the heat and humidity during summer, it is best not to use any heating elements on your hair. Just shampoo, add a light leave-in oil treatment or conditioner after towel dry then stand with head upside down in front of a fan for a couple of minutes. You get more manageable hair and less frizzies from the humidity outside. I did TWEET TOO!

    • mary

My best beauty tip is to use petroleum jelly to darken and emphasize eye lashes, tame unruly eye brows, sooth chapped cheeks, soften chapped lips, and moisturize hands, elbows, knees, and feet.

    • Cindy

Peroxide is my beauty secret! I use it in place of an astringent- just moisten a cotton ball with peroxide and swipe upward on face (because your pores grow downward) This will kill any bacteria and help prevent breakouts before they happen! I also will use it on a q-tip and use on the onset of any canker sore or cold sore and it kills it immediately and prevents it from worsening! I also am prone to ear infections- I can get swimmers ear just from the shower. Since I have been using peroxide (with q-tip) in my ear at the onset of them- I have no need for my ENT-yay! I spoke with my regular MD about this and he said if it works to continue- he just cautions me to be careful with the q-tip in my ear. I just LOVE the stuff!!

    • anne cline

The best beauty tip for flawless foundation is a primer after a moisturizer. After primer apply foundation and you will definitely be hooked. It also saves foundation because it spreads out more evenly and smooth. Also, use a make up brush or a damp sponge so that you don’t waste makeup! Save even more money with your already nearly free makeup you got from couponing! Lol

      1 Peter 3:3-4 [Full Chapter]

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. God’s Word has the best beauty secrets of all!

I have thick, curly hair that gets extremely oily. I don’t always have dry shampoo on hand, but I use a little bit of baking soda to soak up the oil and it allows me to go at least one day extra without having to wash all this hair! A little goes a long way, though, so don’t use too much!

My best Beauty Tip is: GENTLY APPLY ICE CUBE over the face for 10 seconds to 1 min as tolerated every night before going to bed. Ice cubes over the face NOT ONLY help close the pores keeping bacteria, dead skin, oil away BUT ALSO help alleviate acne, soreness arising from acne/pimples + slow down WRINKLE formation.

I know this for sure as it has worked for me over years in terms of preventing acne as my skin is oily. And it is scientifically proven with documented research results.

It is definitely worth a TRY :) !!!

Since turning to a very tight budget, I’ve been able to maintain a lot of my beauty care routine when product runs out by hitting up Pinterest for alternative ideas (a.k.a., ways to use what I already have in my house). My favorites so far have been using a dab of coconut oil as eye makeup remover nightly and using a few drops of contact solution in my mascara every now and then in order to rehydrate it. I’ve adopted these tips for keeps!

If you have combination skin like mine (oily, but also dry) try this before putting on any foundation: Spray your face with Witch Hazel, then while your face is still moist from the spray, apply your moisturizer. The witch hazel helps to lock in the moisturizer. When you’re all done, you’ll be ready for your foundation/powder. I find that it really helps and prevents my skin from becoming flakey and dry looking.

    • JRiley

I’m one of those “granola girls” who don’t use a lot of makeup or beauty products. My biggest beauty tip is to NOT TAN! No tanning beds, no lounging in the sun without protection. I grew up in the days when tanning was cool and I have had over 40 biopsies, one melanoma, and two basal cell cancers that resulted in reconstruction of my nose and a huge scar under one eye. If you must be tan, use a self-tanner or airbrush tan. Temporary “beauty” from a real tan results in really ugly scars and wrinkles down the line.
