If you haven’t heard of it yet, it was probably only a matter of time before you did. Paper Jamz is the maker of a new line of musical toys and, if I my say so myself, is about as close as my little ones will get to playing a real instrument without actually playing a real instrument :)
I was recently sent a line of Paper Jamz instruments to review and had an absolute blast doing so. We received a Paper Jamz Pro Series guitar, drum kit, and microphone (giving us a full band, of course). What makes these toys so great is their simplicity and high level of interactivity. Just by “strumming” the surface of the guitar or tapping the “drums” with your fingers, you will hear a full guitar chord or drum beat. At first glance, these instruments just look like flat, plastic, albeit very cool, toys. But once you start playing with them, you realize that there are tons of different ways to go about enjoying these instruments and lots of cool options!
By flipping a switch on the guitar, you can play chords or single notes, go freestyle or play along with a pre-recorded song, or wave it around to get vibrato. The sound quality is great (which is a must) and the guitar really delivers. The drum kit has a lot of similar options except you can also record yourself and put it on loop! Just spending some time to explore all the options is really fun.
The Paper Jamz’s Pro Microphone lives up to the quality of the instruments. It is very mobile and has a lot of great options including Auto Vibrato, Chorus (which multiplies your voice), Melody Match, Auto Harmony (creates a perfectly harmonized duo with your voice), and Perfect Pitch. Your tone-deaf friend will love that last one :)
It comes with 2 songs you can sing along with but, it also has a USB port so you can add songs from you own library!

Oh my goodness my kids would love these. We already have 3 paper jamz guitars and a paper jamz drum set. The microphone would be the missing piece that would make my kids band complete. They are 6.5, 5 and 2.5 and love to have their band in the basement whenever they can. Hopefully they can win onbe of these to further rock out!!

She has fallen inlove with “Hold Me” by Jamie Grace featuring Toby Mac. Among her favorite things to do are singing and dancing. Jennifer has Down syndrome and her language isn't the best, but when we're in the car and she hears this song come on, she begins to yell, “Louder, Mommy! Louder!”

My kids and I love to sing the Beatles–Eight Days a Week is hilarious when you hear my 4 and 6-year-old daughters and me singing it!
There are soooo many tunes that I LOVE to belt out at the top of my lungs, greatly annoying anyone who might be in the house (or close enough even outside). It largely depends on my mood and what happens to be stuck in my head at the time however; presently, I have been torturing people with that 4 Non Blondes song. I don't know WHERE that one came from. I haven't heard it in many many years.
Our faimily favorite is Walking on Sunshine! My six-year old son belts it out and has a blast!
